DarkDragonWing. How many hours are you working on this car?
Dark dragon wing besides the tensioner do u have to replace the other parts I believe called pullys or something... I just replaced my belt tensioner and pump.
DarkDragonWing v
The world is yours young man. You have a work ethic that will lead you to success in whatever you choose to pursue.
Fantastic! I've done this twice on my sons car (2006 Lancer). 1st at 114,000 miles and again at 214,000 miles. I'm doing his best friends soon (same model) . 2 things ; 1st I use water pump gasket sealer and 2nd I replace the crankshaft position sensor while I'm in there. Great video! You are an artist sir!
Mine is at 217k and has not been changed
I did it!!! Thank you so much for this video! I pulled it off in 7 1/2 hours last night with pretty much not a single hang up. And I did it just based off of this video and never having done anything this involved before. I probably could have even done it in less time but I was pretty tired at the end seeing as I finished at 5am. The only thing I did different was took the alternator bracket off of that other piece to make it easier to get it back in at the end. Besides that and not being able to fit the torque wrench in at a few spots it was a breeze. Thank you so much for posting this!! I'm so pumped that I actually pulled this off when I am far from a mechanic.
Yes! Awesome!! Glad you did it.
Dude you deserve another spliff
It took you 7.5 hours to do a timing belt? Jesus
Did you get stuck on the 2:35 mark? The metal brace with the long bolt and the short bolt. Cant get the engine low enough to clear it
Congrats man so hows your car now?
Thank you so much for putting this video up.
I used your video to replace the timing belt, tensioner, water pump and also did the oil seals (which were leaking) on my Lancer today. It was such an incredible relief when it was all back together and started first go.
I was very pleased as I have never done a job of this scale before on a car.
I bought my 2003 CE Lancer (Australia) brand new and still love it after 20 years. It's never once let me down.
To anyone out there thinking of doing this work, follow this video in detail and use common sense and all will be good.
Thank you so much for uploading this video with every detail properly recorded. I started the job with some friends yesterday and put in about 7 hours. I changed the crankshaft pulley, serpentine belt, and timing belt on my car. The only thing I had trouble with was aligning the pulleys since the timing belt had torn but other than that this video made my day. I saved about 150dlls easily.
Alfredo Sanchez belt tore? Lucky you didn’t destroy the engine or bend a valve being an interference engine.
Just completed this repair by following along with your video and a repair service manual. Excellent job and thanks for posting this you are a life saver!!!
Thanks for this great video, guys! I'm just finishing this job on my 2006 Lancer, as well as an oil change, power steering fluid flush, brake fluid flush, and fuel system clean-out including taking off the fuel injectors and flushing them, and probably saved around $1500. The way you recorded your sequence of steps was easy to follow, and I liked the way you cracked the crankshaft nut with the car starter and breaker bar; easy-peasy! The only thing I went to learn elsewhere was how to align the crankshaft and camshaft sprockets, since my camshaft sprocket rotated a little between taking the old belt off and putting the new one on and I didn't fully trust the marks I'd made earlier. I'll be back on the road shortly; thanks again!
Wow! Hats off to you - simple yet skilful - that's the way to do it!
You got me inspired now!
Thank you for posting and all the best!
Love all the precautions you take and the time/patience taken to torque everything. I would let you work on my car anyday
Next video will be me driving E30, and talk about things while waiting for more money to buy more parts. Cheers
+DarkDragonWing Don't worry surely you will get the money you need for your cars and when you do i will be there watching and supporting all the way
Hey Mackey are you self taught or did you go to school?
Tr1gg3r1911 Hey. I'm self taught.
+DarkDragonWing Very cool. keep up the sweet videos Mackey cant wait for the next Rc modify.
+DarkDragonWing i didnt see what time you guys started but you finished at 1:53am, how long will this take approximately to replace the belt and cleaning? im nearing 98k (81km atm) says on manual to change at that time
I've been watching your videos and I just realized that your one of the guys I watched videos about the timing belt when I was rebuilding my head, I like how you work and you post short sweet and directly to the point video's 👍🔧🧰👨🔧
When the coolant was shooting over the fill pan, god that made me laugh lol

Thank you for excellent video.
Really appreciate!I just need this recently. My car is 2005 lancer, mileage about 140,000 km, and never change the timing belt. Two days ago, the alternator belt had broken then damaged my radiator.
I think maybe it's a perfect sign for me changing the timing belt.
Excellent !! Thaks a lot. It is encouraging.

thnx mackey to listen my topic .......keep going on ill support u

This really makes me miss my old 2002 OZ. I learned so much from that car but never got to do the timing belt
Man this reminds me of when I did my 02 Lancer OZ when I was 18. My first timing belt job, it was a pain but I got it. I miss that car...
yes he is a natural good mechcanic!
Great video. Just one point: after installing timing belt You need to turn crankshaft twice and make sure timing Marks are aligned. Thanks
rất thích xem những video của anh ..
great vid!
What an amazing well explained video mate!!! Now i can finally die in piece!!!! More videos like this please!!!!! Thanks for sharing.
Nice video.
That is awesome.
hehe you are a talented engineer. try your best :)
Good job nice video
i love that car
Thanks You very much
So once you have the timing belt off and out of the way, is it just a matter of taking the cam and crank pulleys off to change the seals? I'm about to be doing this to my 02 OZ because I'm leaking out of the bottom(cam?) pulley seal.
Que tal amigo, muy buen video, saludos desde panamá
man nice car good engine too
u r lancer is back again after a long time...
It's not his
انت ممتيز
i like u work
you are best
🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 didn’t miss a step
I`m so glad I`ve found your channel, such good information in a good way! Thanks a lot Mac!
Do you have a video of the installation of your new air intake? I`m looking to change mine and and the engine bay looks exactly the same, mine is a 2005 Lancer VRX
If you go for a cold air intake get a short ram I got a K&n tune less one and it got tore up by the battery in normal driving or you could just relocate the battery to the back
Good job bro!!!!❕️❕️❕️
Thanks for the video bro
Thank you very much very usufull
So to put tension on the timing belt you tighten the tensioner, put the belt over it, then loosen it so the spring moves it towards the belt then tighten it back down?
Good very good!!!
You are awesome.
hard work
but you make it easy work
nice very nice
สุดยอดเลยครับ
молодец!хорошее видео,мне очень помогло.
didn't see if you did but do you not have to lock the cam gear in a certain position? to keep it from moving?
great video... i would point out either they unbolted the front or the rear mount or they're broken since they can tilt the engine so much with little effort. Also for the engine shaking back and forth when turned on.
thanks
Is 4g92 engine similar to this one (besides the displacement) ? I think the procedure applies to CJ0 Mirage/Colt 1.6 too, doesn't it?
Can you do a video on the pistons/piston rings when you get a car to do it on?
