It should do 100 stacks for scorch 100 stacks for slow, and for transcendence grenade it should do all of the elements of whatever your grenade has. Its so strange to constantly try and not make things powerful. If everything they released had great synergy and they stopped worrying about balancing things outside of pvp, then we would have so many more fun things to do. Its so tiresome to hear about so many cool things in final shape and then get to use them only to find out that they are so much less than they could be

Actually, you just need your buy the final shape and go to the exotic kiosk in the tower to pick it up. I didn’t buy the annual pass but was still able to pick it up
the catalyst for quicksilver was not what turned it into a monster. the buffs it got before lightfall was
agreed... but the current nerfs made it almost worthless
How's it worthless? It does good damage against opponents, the catalysts makes it a strand weapon and a grenade final blow gives you a tangle.

Yes and no, giving quicksilver access to tangles gave it crazy ad clear, with strand just releasing with it, we had strand and tangle artifact mods, and because everyone was using unraveling orbs quicksilver could always spawn tangles, on strand there's the fragment that gives melee energy by damaging with a tangle, that gave quicksilver crazy ad clear with tangles, unraveling rounds and ability regen, and that's not even touching the main gimmick of giving you what was 3 heavy grenade launcher shots which could melt barriers, unstops and overloads once you stunned them

You got the weapon if you pre-ordered regardless if it was the deluxe edition or not. But only the deluxe edition has the catalyst so yeah it makes it pretty pointless

Only thing I didnt see mentioned is that on Stasis or Strand, all 3 weapons can be the same burn, meaning one scav, one reserve, one loader, etc for everything, which frees up a lot of slots on your gear
Bro if you're trying to put mods on for every single one of your weapons rather than optimizing for what each weapon's roll is (siphon for your primary, reserve/scav/surge for your dps and/or special) then I genuinely don't know what to tell you rather than learn to prioritize. There IS a benefit in that your surges will be helping everything out, but reserves and scav are deeply questionable concerns unless your running double special
@@dalektrekkie if you're running a primary, special, and heavy like most people, reserves/scav will help both special and heavy at once, and you'll make orbs off every single weapon kill with the same siphon. Not to mention all 3 weapons having incresed reload/dex or whatever you choose, and on top of that, all of these are cheaper by using Harmonic for everything which leaves tons of room for any other mods.. How is that not beneficial? This is the first weapon in D2 that lets you do this, GTFO of here with that "learn your priorities" shit.
Not all 3 weapons would benefit from scav or reserve as strand and stasis weapons are only in the kenetic and heavy slot but for loader sure but why tf would you want to lol

I only bought the base edition of The Final Shape and for some reason was able to pick it up from the Monument to Lost Lights in the tower. Seems some other people experienced the same thing. Thank you Bungo.

Solar is a solid choice w/Gunpowder Gamble. You get your grenade back in five red bar kills and Tesselation eats the grenade charge out from under it. Gamble takes six kills to charge.
So, you can eat the solar grenade, throw Gamble, shoot the super shot, Transcend, eat *that* grenade, and keep on keepin' on. All the ignitions are a bonus there.

Winterbite with Song of Flame is pretty good. The melee gains scorch so your basically able to shatter and ignite at the same time.
Glaives benefit from 1.25x on melee while radiant too, just fyi.

I've played through the whole campaign using a tesselation + armementarium build. I love its versatility and the fact that it hits hard. You can pair whatever subclass you want, each have their own way to get back grenade energy : solar got its elemental object, arc will generate ionic traces, void has devour, strand has that fragment that gives grenade energy when dealing damage, stasis it's when you break crystal, and prismatic needs you to deal/get frag with darkness to regen your grenade. Do keep in mind that that some of those debuff can stun champion. In pvp, it *can* one shot but as said you need a direct hit, but even then, applying slow, blind or severed can give you and your team an edge (and you can swap after firing to finish them off).

Grinding through the catalyst kill requirement and found out that I actually really enjoy the weapon-even its base fusion functionality feels good. Thanks for the tip on the weakening void shot.
I used this weapon all the way thru my first run of TFS campaign w an Turretless Osmio build and was thoroughly surprised At how much I enjoy it as well. I plan to keep it around in my builds for a while. Pretty fun

how is it done?
my current favorite strategy is to use stasis titan with icefall mantle and this, popping x4 surges instantly with icefall and then using tesselation and rockets dumps a ton of damage really fast, rocking triple stasis with a stasis primary, tessellation, and cold comfort
Just finished the catalyst and I enjoy it a lot.
if you want a lot of uptime, you can pair it with frosteez on stasis with duskfields, you can break the duskfield crystal and get grenade regen, sprint to regen faster, then any tesselation kills gives grenade energy
i was using before the caty and it give a grenade every 5 ish seconds when sprinting
Alternative route would be renewal grasp and shield crush for melee regen via frost armor, then get grenade from kills with the gun, have both grenade and melee but won't have the crazy uptime for the grenade, I recommend this for prismatic but not for a regular subclass
I never used Tessellation until recently after i got the the Speakers helmet for Warlock, it's actually decent and you can use your healing grenade as a grenade shot or healing turret.
I paired it with broodweaver (witch btw is really great now due to the buffs) for the legendary campaing and it was really rewarding.
Swarmers, Thread of rebirth, generation and grapple meele turns tesselation into a mini nuke with a 40 seconds cooldown that not only deals more damage than any other grenade, but also creates more threadlings than a threadling nade, severs, unravels and even gives grenade energy back by both killing AND dealing damage. Its really good

I’ve been using it since I got it for my strand warlock build.. haven’t worked on the catalyst yet tho.. this prismatic subclass got my mind working with all these types of builds.
Been running this thing since finishing the campaign. Slept on it at first but it was really fun to use and felt pretty strong.
Damn the range on that grenade shit is crazy! I didn’t realize it worked like that.
This catalyst pairs well with mothkeepers wraps on a prismatic hunter build.
When the preorders dropped, I was actually mostly using this on Strand with mothkeepers for the 3 nades. It's since been on and off my Bakris/ Horror Story build for all-stasis PvP shenanigans and then got vaulted until the catty dropped. Haven't really found a solid place for it yet outside of patrolling and low-end content.
Maybe the best way to use Tessellation in a damage rotation is void shot + expanding abyss, then a shot with primary to proc bait and switch on an edge transit
I quite like it with the triple lightning surge build on warlock. I was having issues racking up dark damage before feeding it threadling nades. Also lets me equip a kinetic weapon to ensure I dont end up with a skew either way.
I preordered when it was first available, and got the gun then last year. They canceled it and I just forgot about the preorder cancel, got it the day of and didn't get catalyst. But got the preorder ship, and emblem emote, all of it, and had the gun since last year lol

I paired this with the mothkeepers exotic gloves for hunter because you can preload one of your grenades then you have an extra plus whatever has recovered. Also it possible to get both grenades back if you hit enough enemies.
(Btw I haven’t actually watch the video yet cos I’m currently at work but saw the notification mentioned this and I wanted to say how I use it. If he mentioned this then oh well)
PSA!!!!: For all my guardians out there who have purchased the final shape the day it was released or did not pre order the deluxe edition, you can still get the weapon from the monument next to the vaults in the tower. You can also get the catalyst but it will come at a later date maybe the next episode. Bungie dropped quicksilver after lightfall released and then a while after the catalyst for QS was also dropping. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY THE DELUXE EDITION FOR THE CATALYST I REPEAT YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY IT FOR THE CATALYST. If bungie is doing the same thing as lightfall you will be able to get the catalyst sometime in the future. Hopefully people can see this and don’t buy the deluxe just for the caty.

I use arc myself because a 7-8 second blind is stupidly powerful in pve. I use it with armentarium on titan(hopefully spirit soon) and being able to use that blind to either fire another shot, or charge up a thunderclap, feels fantastic

If you use it with full solar builds the scorch can be buffed same as full void builds it’s stronger than when using prismatic.

So since I have star eater and apotheosis on my Warlock bond I should be doing heavy damage with my super while also getting a bunch of grenade energy back to use the fusion rifle. Interestinggggg

If it's a long damage phase and I'm using an exotic with Song of Flame then I'm using Dragon's Breath. You just hold the Dragon's Breath in your hands while you're working the super and every time the Rocket auto-reloads just fire again, that's it. The rocket wants scorch to become ignitions as fast as possible to reload and fire full damage-buffed rockets, and nothing makes scorches ignite quicker than Song of Flame. You can get like 3-4 full damage-buffed rockets off in the time it takes to burn that super, which is like 10 seconds. Like Warlord's Ruin final boss is a great place to use this, and then on damage phase 2 just use Transcendence in almost the same way while adding in a special weapon to bide time for rocket reloads; it's like super-lite. Then, for damage phase 3 you got the super again.
I did use Tessellation with Devour and Void nades though and if the group is big enough one shot from this can get your whole grenade back. It isn't bad by any means

SO HAPPY you finally covered this. I'm finally taking time to get the kills on it, but the ability to apply both volatile or weaken (wasn't sure which it did at first) was so exciting to me.
Interesting, I bought the normal pre-order a day before the expansion and could just acquire tesselation from the kiosk at launch. I’ve not got access to the catalyst though but I will do when it becomes available next season.
Ive always wondered since it shows in the api as a non elemental weapon that changes with your equipped grenade (previously super) how do reserve, siphon and scavenger mods work with tesselation? Do i just match the element to the grenade or do i put kinetic on?
Tessalation with moth keepers and strand hunter you can load up to 4 rockets in it. Makes it arc too. Can use the moths as intended if needed.
Stasis is my favorite and I’ve been using it since I got it last year
Been enjoying this with a Mothkeepers Prismatic build. Moths changes your grenade to arc, but keeps the duration of your equipped nade, so I go with grapple for good uptime
Mothkeepers actually do not keep the ability regen of your equipped grenade. They override your regen time to 71 seconds, which is the shortest grenade regen time in the game. Your equipped nade has no effect on anything and is completely overridden when using mothkeepers

Class: titan subclass: prismatic, use the void arsenal, use facet of command, use suppressor nade. Exotic armor: stoicism perks heart of inmost light , star eaters. Weapons: crafted defiance of Yazmin enhanced lead from gold enhanced vorpal, with collective obligation, and edge transit auto loading bait and switch. Kill ads get super collect orbs for star eater stacks while collecting a void debuff using collective obligation. Start damage phase fire izanagi, fire collective obligation for weaken or shores affect then switch to edge transit do damage till mag is empty throw suppressor nade it will auto reload your edge transit. Switch to izanagi and repeat if you’re fast enough collective obligation will be at line 1-2 seconds left with its debuff after getting the debuff off again for second time fire your super off.
For those who didnt preorder you can get the exotic for free right now at the tower at the exotic kiosk
This was my workhorse through the legend campaign. I think everyone had their picks, but this was mine. And to be honest, it's what you make of it. Me personally, I used it with prismatic Titan for my first clear, and the rockets greatly helped in general use - it even did a notable amount of damage to things like tormentors, which really made up for me missing my Apex Predator craft until after I finished the campaign, and got the harmonizer from Micah.
Overall I agree with the points in this video, and I'm just a random commenter, but in my personal experience it's great. My, honest, biggest problem, is actually just the subclass/grenade changing of it. A lot of times I would be wanting to run a specific grenade type for various reasons (eg. suspend is OP lol, light/dark balancing for prismatic) and at the end of the day it made me overthink a lot. It was hard to pick between my Teeselation/grenade affinity and then my kinetic and heavy. BUT, now that the campaign is said and done and we're in a bit more open and firm of a sandbox, I can say that it is totally great.
I find a lot of success using it with Strand affinity/shackle on prismatic Titan, and then running a light heavy that can munch through adds like Commemoration, which can do ok damage to things like tormentors too given the chance. However, for anyone reading this, beware that using a dark element for Tesselation is, in my opinion, limiting. You basically have to use a light heavy or else you're gonna miss out on a lot of prismatic energy (I think at this point the kinetic damage for prismatic is nowhere near enough).
That's just my opinion tho, I'm a random bored commenter. Hope this helps someone

Since song of flame makes solar weapons scorch, do you think a solar grenade with tesselation would get you some ignitions?
I would think so, especially with the catalyst shot applying scorch on its own (does it stack with SoF scorch?) and that Ashes.

Just so y'all know, the Steelseries collection is fully sold out except for the headsets, which retail for $219.99-12% which is cross's discount. The mousepad, keycap, and joystick things do not have an option to buy, and have been out of stock since less than an hour after the collection launched (unless I missed a restock along the way). Every time Cross mentions those products I check, and ever time I go "aww shucks"
Did you still use the weaken for song of flame damage?
Cross keeps referring to the special shot as a rocket shot, does it get boosts from the titan chest?
I’m somewhat convinced that Tessellation was made and balanced with Prismatic in mind, I guess the same could be said for Song of Flame. Given that you get your grenades back significantly faster with Transcendence, Bungie likely couldn’t make the perk that insane, despite it requiring the sacrifice of your charged grenade. It also means that any buffs to the weapon or fusion rifles in general will have to take into consideration the regen you get from Transcendence and from Song of Flame.

Song of flame and Verity's Brow is so damn fun, since like the artifact perk, they both increase the fire bird damage
Star Eaters buffs it too. I was doing some damage testing and I was pulling out 1.7 mil damage with debuffs on target. It's nasty.
I happened to get an armamentarium/HOIL class item so I’ll have to try it with this.
Just for the record, I went flawless with Tesselation as it is my favorite feeling burst Fusion Rifle haha
It’ll pair nicely with Twilight Arsenal, weaken first then throw your axes for max Twilight damage
You know, if you used SoF with Osmiomancy + Star Eaters your super well deal approximately 1.7 mil damage if you apply Arcane Needle and a void nade before hand.
if you use it on a stand titan with the grenade energy aspect you can have as little as a 2sec constant downtime pairing with an auto rifle or machine gun
Okay, cool. Basically the exact idea I had been toying around with for my own OCDNS Exotic weapon based on Osmosis, except I was thinking a Pulse Rifle and fretting over whether it would be too strong to give Keywords to the base shots of the weapon itself.
Mine would have rewarded precision kills with an effect wave based on damage type (the target bursts into a wave of weaken/scorch/blind/chill/unravel, with kinetic refunding ability energy) and actually loading a grenade gives ammo that spreads the debuffs without precision.
The Catalyst would have added extra debuffs - volatile/double scorch/jolt/double chill/sever or create a tangle. Probably way too powerful, even if there was a capacitor system added to limit how long debuff ammo lasted.
If you have the Final Shape Dlc (whether its base dlc /with annual pass) you can just go to kiosk (exotic archive in tower) you can claim tessellation
How many scorch stacks, and how does the scorch work with the weapon buff from song of flames... That would be way more damage if you pair ignite after ignite i guess

id say its decent tho. Mainly because you dont have to use the fragment that adds weakening to targets hit by your grenade(which usually comes with a stat hit). That way you can use a better fragment but still able to proc stylish etc.
How about a Nova Bomb apotheosis, with vortex grenade on prismatic?
Preload 'nade, shoot, Nova, load grenade (I assume you could get two shots off. Maybe throw a melee in there) load another 'nade, switch to edge transit for complete rotation (roughly 20-25s)
If Tessellation fires a rocket, does it also work with the new Titan exotic for rocket damage bonus?
I believe so, anything that has rockets is buffed, example: Mountain top grenade launcher with rocket ammo, the new Call, Quicksilver and beyond.

@@sebi2944thats terrible news because it has a missile based frame that launches rockets like the Call. The call is a sidearm pistol that shoots rockets and the grenade launcher contradiction mountain top follows the same law of design. Stupid if it really doesn't work since the ammo fires out as a rocket.
This weapon cooks with osmiomancy with a bait and switch edge transit so much burst DPS I used this majority of legend campaign until I switched to LB

you can get it without the annual pass its just hidden in the tower at the retrieve old exotics kyosk, i only bought the normal final shape and i was able to pull it from there

Only thing I really dislike about it is how long it takes to use the nade, charge it, and fire it. I've died a few times because I was trying to use it optionally on a major in a group, and I got melted because I got hit from so many sources while going through the animations. I just wish it was a rapid fire charge and fire after the nade animation or something like that.

Torn between this and buried bloodline. Bloodline has the devour but this thing has the damage plus weaken at all times not needing a kill. It’s tough
The guns amazing but, It competes with Still Hunt for me and as a Celestial Hunter its just not getting a chance in my loadouts really 😅

Could be useful for sword bosses, with being able to slam them with tessellation and then go to town with falling Guillotine using expanding abyss.
