A few additions: The Exotic Class Item only drops from Pale Heart Chests AFTER the first Dual Destiny completion. The "Thrall Room" in the Whisper activity, the punish area beneath the green room, is also a very good, almost AFK, farm for catalysts. I usually complete a catalyst within 25 min or so and only partially look at my screen. Just make sure to have some form of healing if you gotta do multikills. Unpredictable strafing is nice and all but if you got low Mobility, like most Warlocks and Titans, it can also be not viable due to lack of movement speed.

It appears to this day very few people know that the blight event becomes increasingly easier to make heroic the further phases in it is. Trying to shoot the blight on the first phase will take a lot, LOT more damage than it would on the last phase, which can be done rather quickly with just a special weapon.
You’re absolutely correct. However, it’s common for less-knowledgeable players to be slaughtering the enemies during all three phases, so I often need to get started on shooting the Blight during phase-one, even though it’s less efficient. Otherwise, noobies will end the event before I have enough time to trigger the Heroic version.
this video made me realize even more how little I know about this game. I genuinely have no clue how to even create a basic loadout and have been basically playing all this time underpowered... I've been playing this game for a while now and it actually amazes me how little I understand this.
One weapon I would recommend not having full auto turned on is Final Warning, this is because of how it's perk works. You need to hold fire to trigger it. This leads to just constantly firing the All at Once perk which will deplete your ammo quickly and can leave you shooting blind if there aren't many enemies about. Given you get two bursts from a clip this can lead you to quickly reloading every few seconds then getting killed while doing it. It's an outlier granted but with people grinding the new catalyst I suspect a few people are going to run into this issue.
For the hotswapping to reserve mods before rallying, this only works as long as you stay alive, you lose the extra ammo if you are revived without the reserve mods on.
An important note for tip 160, the artifact overcharge does NOT apply to all activities that have any kind of overcharge, some activities overcharge certain things only. There is a seperate dedicated modifier for allowing overcharging things from the artifact. Equipping overload sword on an activity without this modifier will not overcharge it, even if the activity has overcharges.
Interesting. So, based on what you’re saying, there is a generic “overcharged weapons active” icon on the activity preview/launch screen? Not sure I’ve ever seen that icon, but I could have overlooked it.

I’ve been playing since 2019 but as a solo player, so I missed on a lot of mechanics that you learn more quickly when you have a team you regularly play with. Although I watch a lot of Destiny 2 videos, I must admit there’s a LOT I still learned here… Thanks a lot !!
Another thing I found out with goblins when they put their shield or whatever up, anti-barrier mods work against it. So if you have an anti-barrier mod equipped for a specific weapon type or one that has built in anti-barrier, fire away
Fun fact about the newly discovered gear: You can also scroll over them in the Recently Discovered box if you don’t want to long press each individual box (in most cases this should be faster).
Another great video by Shadow. Anyone who knows someone new to the game should point them here to learn years of discovery in a fraction of the time. I got over 11k hours in Destiny and I still learn things from these videos
That's just how destiny has always been NPE is pretty awful and while it has gotten better, there's still so many tabs and shit that just confuse people.
After almost a decade of playing Destiny I've developed my own particular gameplay style and I will never, ever change it. I enjoy the game as I play and that's what's important to me.
Which is 110% perfectly fine for any and all solo content. However, if you’re in a team-based, or even match-made activity, and your unique playstyle doesn’t fit the specific activity well, then you are actively sabotaging your team’s performance by acting too rigidly. That’s cringe.

the kinetic weapon surge when matching subclass is only active in activities with an overcharge modifier. im not sure why it works like this, but its very easy to verify it for yourself
28:14 I am VERY careful about my postmaster. I still have stacks of Ascendant Prisms, Enhancement Prisms, Spoils of Conquest and Upgrade Modules in there
About the “pushback” where you get sent flying, sometimes i intentionally let this happen. Say you are in the middle of a swarm of taken, you can use the pushback from those shield guys (not good with remembering names lol) to gain some distance, if you know what you’re doing. Saved my butt a bunch of times.
There’s a neat interaction between Gally and the Towering Barricade: if you run Gjallarhorn, you can convince the rest of the fire team to run rockets, then pop the barricade right before damage. This can take out 5 Guardians with one button press, which is almost as good as what the strongest raid bosses and the best Crucible players can accomplish.
38:00 I personally find scavenger mods to be really useful in raids when heavy ammo is less abundant. I also like it because it give more heavy from bricks dropped from mods.
33:31 pressing forward while on the ground might provide no beneficial speed boost. However, pressing forward while airborne makes you drop faster, and allows you to get your sparrow back to max speed faster. Sparrows move slower while in mid-air.
Synergies in Destiny is still a fairly new concept to most Destiny players, as this was not the case a few years ago. You can tell by how a lot of the synergies are mods instead of infused into the armor that drops like most MMORPG’s do. This makes the whole system of synergies in Destiny Convoluted and difficult to follow especially, if you’re a returning players that was use to the core concept of “Intellect, discipline and strength, best gun in the slot, best exotic armor in slot and you’re set.”
I agree on the Artifice slot. It really depends on what your'e running/loadout. Sometimes that +3 can just squeeze me over to the next Tier. Sometimes it's just a dead +3. I'd rather have it than not have but I don't always need it. Builds change all the time. Sometimes you get new armor pieces with better rolls and that Artifice slot comes in handy.
I agree on the bubble part, but I find it funny watching as I rip away their cover with the cerberus+1 and have them scramble like ants, it's hilarious
Not sure about this but the ball passing mechanic at 30:02 only works if you throw the ball while aiming at the persons front or sides. Throwing it at the person's back just causes it to explode, which makes sense.
My brother started playing about a week after me. We've both been playing for about 2 months now. I inspected his guardian last week and realized he didn't have an exotic equipped because he didn't like the way it looked lmao he doesn't play as much as me, and he relies on my research to learn new things. He didn't realize exotic armor had perks. I'm trying to get him to focus more on stats than appearance.
@@OakHipster8848 that's my point. His stats were terrible because he didn't even consider stats in choosing his equipment. He didn't even have an exotic equipped.
14:46 this tip confuses me, because it sounds like it conflicts with a beginner tip that's like "high grade loot counts for your drops, even if it's sitting in the vault; you aren't forced to switch your gear to the higher grades" So how do both of these tips work?
One has nothing to do with the other. You have 2 power levels. One is equipped power level which is used against combattants. The other is account power level (now account-wide accross characters btw) influences what power leve litems can drop next. Let's your account power level be 1992 + 7/8 and one of your class item is 1991 so -1 your power level, this means that at this level world drops would be at -3 level so they won't be helpful. A powerful reward would yield at-level drop and a pinnacle reward would yield a +2. Now a pinnacle drop would raise your account PL to 1993 +1/8, but if you have a powerful reward available to claim then it has a chance to be for you class item, which would make it power up by 1 and take you to 1993 directly. And then the pinnacle reward would be dropping as 1995 which hugely helps for the pinnacle grind as previously a 1994 pinnacle rewards could have been a waste PL'wise as you'd have multiple 1994 at that stage but no 1995's.
I thought I was imagining that thing about ads vs taken thrall. It's like I noticed it was a lot easier to hit them hip fireing then told myself that can't be real.
Another trick a fair amount of people don't know: you can hit the ground jumping from any height while remaining on your sparrow as long as you do the strafe/dodge action right before you hit the ground - not only will you take zero damage you also won't get tossed around when you hit the ground. It's effectively the same as tapping your second jump, before hitting the ground; the game basically sees you as falling from whatever height you hit the strafe at.
Wasnt that skimmer trick patched a while ago? I used it when skimmers launched but a while after it was inconsistent and I vaguely remember a patch note about it but its been a while so im not certain.
Number 151 is about to be outdated. I've been playing this game since launch and I still learned a few things from this video. I didn't know about the Trall and Psion behavior when ADSing, that was cool. And the Subjugator tid bit was also helpful.
On 142, I've seen Void/Arc/Stasis/Strand Locks with Wings of Sacred Dawn equip.... I always have to take a moment and sigh to myself before opening up chat and hoping they can see me, politely, inform them that the exotic they're using only works on Solar (and now Prismatic when they have a Solar Super Equip).
@24:44 Can anyone confirm or deny whether or not the ability to "Mark all as Seen" is available when playing on PC? I can't for the life of me find this option and it has ALWAYS annoyed the hell out of me.
Disagreed with 117. Banking Gambit motes immediately. The way is efficient: Two clear ads and the other two pick up motes. Then, go to the next location and the two that collected motes from previous location (hopefully each has 15 each) now kill ads and the other ones collect them. Then bank all 60 at the same time. Additionally, familiarize yourself with invaders location and have all 4 people focus on invader. Don’t ever bank until the enemy has banked that way you can take some motes out. Gambit is a simple game mode. But people are so selfish that they just want to grab all motes and don’t even revive you at all.
You can now exchange 1 prism back to 5 cores at Rahool, although I would recommend just earning some more as the exchange rate is 50% of what it cost to make a prism (10 cores)
I'm a new player and have been doing a bit of research. That stat breakdown was one of the first things I found when researching stats lol seeing your comment makes me realize how lucky I was
Just got back into D2 after a 3 year break. I've been doing the final shape campaign on legendary and getting destroyed by those subjicators. Would have been nice to know about matching their damage type.
For the bonus resources every episode , at least for seasons, these did not expire; there were duplicate stacks of the resources so when you claimed one of the stacks the next season's stack would then appear, they probably do expire after a new annual expansion though
22:59 I've actually only done 1 raid on my whole destiny career and this was exactly what turned me off from doing any more (People referring to themselves in first person) and also the overhaul toxicity 😭
As a returning player, this video explains a lot. Also, where is the link for the difference tier of stats? Any video for what is good on redborder crafted weapons?
9:50 RESERVE MODS NO LONGER WORK LIKE THIS FYI! Bungie made a change somewhat after this video and came with the side effect of when you swap anything on your loadout (guns, armor, etc.) it will remove the extra ammo from mag overflow perks like envious and reconstruction
My understanding was that kinetic weapon damage was no longer going to be increasing as a result of Surge as of _The Final Shape,_ to compensate for the fact that kinetic damage now does double duty for the Prismatic class, counting as both light and dark damage for purposes of Transcendence...
did you guys notice how the eye color changed on the taken after FS releasing? Also Rahool's secret stash last longer than 1 season, I had several of them just sitting there all year.
I've ran out of special and heavy ammo SO many times and thats with finders, gone in to boss dps phases having to use kinetic slot weapons becausee both special and heavy weapons have no ammo
Its ok to invade early people but make sure u can kill. It will slow them down. By the time the portal is ready again, it should be close to their damage phase although i usually will wait for their damage phase. The only sin is going over and not getting kills. If u have to waste a super to get a kill, was it really wasted? Ive gone over and used a super to get an entire wipe. Sure my super recharges like a turtle high af on that zaza, but i completely set them back allowing for us to win. Also if ur not good at PvP, i would suggest homing weapons. There are several weapons that come with homing or have a chance to come with homing. It will make ur trips more successful.
13:06 You can actually claim the XP from all of the completed nodes BEFORE you click the engram, in your video you didnt do this, missing out on 6 nodes of free XP. You dont need to complete a single path from left to right, as long as they join somehow (even backwards) you can claim the XP :)
I'm getting back in to D2 for the first time since the drop of Witch Queen. Should I spend the dough to buy BOTH Lightfall and Final Shape? Or is one more important than the other right now? What do y'all recommend?

Equipping overload sword on an activity without this modifier will not overcharge it, even if the activity has overcharges.
Interesting. So, based on what you’re saying, there is a generic “overcharged weapons active” icon on the activity preview/launch screen? Not sure I’ve ever seen that icon, but I could have overlooked it.
I will always blame the game every time my warlock jump resets after a slight increase in elevation.
i have died too many times to this and as a hunter main i feel like jumping early is lame
Hahhaa, I feel ya on that.
Talking about team activities... When someone passes in front of me when I am about to shoot a rocket or rocket launcher... 🤬
Happens to me with my grenade launcher almost every time I play onslaught lmao
@@timandjessica4204 🙂
Rocket launcher enthusiast here, a jump is the key, everytime you shoot a rocket in a squad just jump, if someone pass at the worng time the rocket will breeze over his head.
@WLS_Churchill True. Just gotta have a RL with high handling; otherwise, the delay can cause the same problem I mentioned. Cheers.

I’ve been playing since 2019 but as a solo player, so I missed on a lot of mechanics that you learn more quickly when you have a team you regularly play with. Although I watch a lot of Destiny 2 videos, I must admit there’s a LOT I still learned here… Thanks a lot !!
I've started the game 5 months ago and I was feel like I know things about it, but after reading your comment I don't think this way anymore.....

Bro ypu know 10k hrs at anything ad you're classed as an expert. I bow down to your dedication Guardian, I only did like 4.5k hrs of D1 😉
I’ve been playing this game on off since late 2018 and I still feel like I’m nowhere near close to know what I’m doing

That's just how destiny has always been NPE is pretty awful and while it has gotten better, there's still so many tabs and shit that just confuse people.
@@CollaateraLthis is so accurate

29:20 "Any player would be laughing like a madman after their guardian had a stroke and tumbled off a cliff."
28:14 I am VERY careful about my postmaster. I still have stacks of Ascendant Prisms, Enhancement Prisms, Spoils of Conquest and Upgrade Modules in there
eating and watching my shadow destiny is the best!
The subjugator matching damage type, holy crap I’m so mad I never knew that lol
8 seconds in and I'mma stop you right there: I'm playing wrong sure but I'm having fun! Time to keep watching.
Ok?…
both can be true?

Ya it’s more fun the right way! You freakin bloob!
Ah, I can finally play perfectly
39:38 if u have conditional finality go for it and shoot +punch it works great on any class
That was an insane video to watch! Amazing job man I can’t imagine how long that had to take to make
You can also stop the Hobgoblins from health regain if you have on shield piercing mods for your weapon as that charge up they do counts as a shield
The drip is everything mate, what's the point of triple 100s and a good exotic if i don't look good?
@@OakHipster8848 that's my point. His stats were terrible because he didn't even consider stats in choosing his equipment. He didn't even have an exotic equipped.
14:46 this tip confuses me, because it sounds like it conflicts with a beginner tip that's like "high grade loot counts for your drops, even if it's sitting in the vault; you aren't forced to switch your gear to the higher grades"
So how do both of these tips work?
Seeing 48:31 post this most recent patch is pretty funny, cause now you SHOULD shoot the strand doubles.
30:28 the worst misspelling is seeing people say "ad"/"ads" instead of "add"/"adds". it's "add", short for "additional" enemies who aren't the boss.
I thought I was imagining that thing about ads vs taken thrall. It's like I noticed it was a lot easier to hit them hip fireing then told myself that can't be real.
Sheesh, I can't remember most of the ones I thought "Have to remember that one!" ALso, I need to learn some of the sound cues, clearly.
10:20 this only applies for the rally though so your still losing out on some extra ammo during fights, just something to keep in mind
Full auto: some people don't like it on pulse rifles since it can easily go into the next burst after you meant to stop shooting..
Going to ghost of the deep and clearing ads in the second boss room in my opinion is more effective than the last wish raid
Thank you. Been playing 10 years and I learnt quite a few things there. 👍
It doesn't matter how long you've played, the game also isn't even been out 10 years

Thank you so much for this information I’m back to destiny thanks to you and I have a lot to catch up on
Disagreed with 117.
The stat priorty breakdown pissed me off. Focused 50 pale heart engrams and i didnt know that it splits like that lol

41:42 the best way is to leave all the ads alone for ur veritys brow warlocks
There's no "wrong" if you're enjoying a game and exploring and learning by yourself. However, I appreciate the info since I searched for it :)
For the bonus resources every episode , at least for seasons, these did not expire; there were duplicate stacks of the resources so when you claimed one of the stacks the next season's stack would then appear, they probably do expire after a new annual expansion though
The one thing that almost every D2 player forgets is that fun is far more important than being "optimal"
You’re absolutely correct. Still, even the most casual or carefree player can make a few positive adjustments based on the tips in this video.
22:59 I've actually only done 1 raid on my whole destiny career and this was exactly what turned me off from doing any more (People referring to themselves in first person) and also the overhaul toxicity 😭

You are playing wrong if you haven't tried almost every thing, there is so much unique combos. (Especially Cerberus +1)
My understanding was that kinetic weapon damage was no longer going to be increasing as a result of Surge as of _The Final Shape,_ to compensate for the fact that kinetic damage now does double duty for the Prismatic class, counting as both light and dark damage for purposes of Transcendence...
The Overcharged Weapon modifier description does state that kinetic weapon damage is increased when your super matches a surge.
with the amount of these videos you put out i might as well be playing wrong by turning the game on.
0:50 they fixed this for skimmers

I googled 168 a while ago and couldn’t find an answer until now, thank you sir
32:06 auto fire doesnt work with final warning or devils ruin unfortunately
