Agree 1000% And if I'm not mistaken, Floor has much respect and admiration for Freddie. If you watch her movements at the end of some songs, she raises her arm in the air like Freddie did, and there are some other subtle movements that are similar to Freddie's. It surely has to be a nod to his incredible genius.
@@SuperMoofie absolutely 💯....she has made no secrets of her admiration of the late great Freddie Mercury......shes been asked many times , if she can do a duet with anyone , who would it be and Freddie Mercury is always the answer .
ReVamp was a really important step in Floor's career as it is the first time she got to write songs that used *all* of her vocal tools however she saw fit to tell the stories of the songs. This is where Floor really began to develop her 'vocal grammar' of how she uses different timbres for storytelling purposes. Over the years since she has highly refined the quality of many of those vocal placements and added a bunch more, of course, but this is really the foundation of the vocal approach she brings to Nightwish, to her covers, and to her forthcoming solo work.
@@ivantheterrrible9213 I realize I phrased it a little backwards, but what I was getting at was, even though this was pre-Nightwish, Floor was already very experienced by the point of Graspop 2010.
This was Floor knee deep in the beginnings of her burn out, which took much longer to diagnose than it should have. ReVamp allowed her to get out a good amount of her anger, hurt and pain. Glad she's moved through all of it to a better place now, though I do miss the aggression.
I agree, MOD is another example of how capable 'younger' Floor's vocals already were. Also, it's an amazingly structured & written song, one of my favourites!
Maybe an underestimated performance at that time, but look what time has done with it: now is an unavoidable reference of one of the greatest singers people have ever listened to!!! Lucky you
@@nicolasromero9470 they were an early slot and not as well known or appreciated so understandable the crowd wasn't the most energetic but also being out in really hot weather is gonna make people much less likely to want to jump around and rock out no matter who's performing.

Thank you so much for your take of early Floor. She recently addressed a fan question asking her if she missed these sort of performances. And to all of our surprise, Floor said NO emphatically. She said that this side of her represents her youth. The part of her that grew up listening to hard rock and metal. And she lived that dream of the edgy metal lead singer. She has moved on stylistically and matured as an artist. Although she looks back fondly, she prefers where she is at now, which is good news for Nightwish fans. Thanks again! It is fun to see biker Floor.
Floor talked about how she needed to release a lot of anger and emotions that had been building up for years. Shortly after this she burnt out and took a break. Someone will correct me if I have the timeline wrong.
Little corection, she had a burn out. Luckely she didn't burn(t) out. Did you see the message from Floor to her (Revamp) fans about the burn out. All the fire was gone. Although there were growls on After Forever, she couldn't. She learned growling and the raspy sound especially for ReVamp. And only because of her burnout did she have the time to fill in at Nightwish.
Thank you, Christi, this song is so much fun to see and hear. The whole Graspop-concert is great, by the way... Floor has always been amazing and she was born to be on stage. Last Thursday evening she did a solo show (with the Marcel Fisserband from Beste Zangers and special guest Henk Poort) in Den Bosch, the Netherlands. It was her first show in front of a real audience in over 1,5 years and she was glowing the whole evening. She was so happy to be back on stage, where she belongs. For me it also was the first real concert after seeing Tim Akkerman on Feb 7 2020 and seeing Floor perform again was just magical (and a bit emotional)! If all works out well, I'll be in Finland in less than 2 weeks to see a couple of Nightwish shows and I'm counting the days....
From what I've read in the comments of the video of this whole set from people who were there, this was an early performance in the morning of the second (or third) day of this festival and it was a very hot and humid weekend, That's why the crowd were a bit low on energy to begin with. I love your reactions. I love the Shoemaker reference you put in this. I also have been watching you owning your silver and loving it. I have been doing the same and wish I knew you to say "I love it!"
You mentioned Shoemaker, in a recent interview Floor said that the operatic end was on the 3rd take & the result was full on operatic in a way she didn't know she could do .
What I thought I remember was her not being satisfied with that section and kind of letting it be then going back and putting together the finished product we hear after the rest of the song was pretty much finished or something like that
I was fortunate to see Revamp in NYC in 2014 just before Floor left for Nightwish. I never heard of Revamp before that show. From the first note she sang, I was all in. I could not get enough of her singing. I kept searching for more of her music. I came across this show from Graspop and completely fell in love with her style of singing. Though joining Nightwish was the best career move for her, I think she was better with Revamp. There is another song from this show called The Trial of Monsters. Give it a listen.
You looked really nice a little overdressed for Disdain, but nice. I asked Floor a question she answered. "Floor you have such confidence and swagger on stage, would you consider that more learned or natural thing for you." She replied that she had always been like that and she doesn't know where it comes from, but she had never had any form of stage fright. Then she said I don't think that can be learned, but you can become more comfortable on stage. My take, she was born to do this. Nice reaction as always.
Floor admits that with Revamp she pushed her voice and didn't take good care of it , plus all the pressures of running every part of this is why she got burnout and went off grid for over a year. She was still recovering from burnout when Nightwish called, and it was just what she needed to move past it.
My dear thank you for doing another Floor!!! If you haven't discovered her in "After Forever" yet i recommend you to have a listen, it's older but next level Some songs even have Session versions where you hear her raw and unperfect which is magnificent, but I guess YT will strike if you do official music instead of live?! You should check out After Forever next. They're Floor's first band, and they're my new obsession. There's even a live performance you can listen to where Floor sings with her sister. It's called "Who I Am."
Actually, Thuomas mentioned in an interview once that they wanted Floor to join NW after Tarja left. But at that time After Forever started to become really popular and they chose not to ask her, not wanting to put her into the position of choosing between her own band in which she put a lot of work and dedication and Nightwish (i think it's pretty known by now, what impact NW hat on Floor). And then they ended up choosing their singer by a competition. The rest is history.

Oh yes, the audience knew her for sure. The reason why they were a bit calm is twofold. 1) It was the first show of the day, so people were just waking up. 2) It was real hot that day. You don’t want to be very active on a hot day 😉. Fun fact: Floor had just founded Revamp and the festival organisation had never actually seen a Revamp show before when they booked her. They just trusted her good name. It’s Floor, so it will probably be good. That says enough about how well known she already was within the metal scene back then.

When Nightwish asked her if she could step in for Annette WITHIN 24 hours in the USA, of course she did that. I miss Floor in After Forever... Don't get me wrong - She is home in Nightwish; I just love some of her vocals when she wrote in After Forever and Revamp. As to the Audience, this was EARLY in the morning at Graspop... Lots of hung over people... Oh, Floor was well known... After Forever and Revamp both were and are known in the euro metal scene. After Forever toured with Nightwish EARLY in After Forever's career. In fact, Floor asked Tarja if it was ok with her if she joined Nightwish (back in 2012?).
Hi Christi 👋HUGS. I think you're ready for Wildcard from Revamp. I perfer the one inside not out. You have to react to her song Monolith of Doubt. I like the video of her singing O Mio Bambino Caro at a Revamp Concert.
This was after After Forever broke up, and a burn out was coming on. She was hurt, angry and unhappy. But still, if it wasn't for that, we would never have seen this side of Floor.
Hey, I see you are getting into the less known work from Floor...nice! ReVamp had 2 albums only and they are both quite cool, but the era that it lasted wasn't great for her, she had a burn-out at that point, she was getting out of it when was called from NW...and the rest is history If you want to know more about her past projects and have some time I reccomend you to check out a recent interview she did in the channel Breaking Absolutes, it's like from the last week, just before getting back to sing live in a show
Yeah, that's Ms. Floor Jansen. The only female vocalist on earth who can literally sing everything, mastering all possible vocal techniques. By the way, you look very beautiful Christi. You are a beautiful lady. And your content has class and a lot of interesting information. Love your kind, friendly and open personality, and love your work. Keep it up!
At the same time you video came online, Floor Jansen gave a 90 minute interview (very good one) about her career up to now. She describes her Revamp time as "an explosion of anger" and she really is not sure where it came from. See ua-cam.com/video/k936CEBbNIM/v-deo.html I think your clip also shows why Floor was not a mainstream artist in her own country. It was all too wild for the general public (and for me as well).

By the way, happy 2nd anniversary (09.07.2019) of discovering Floor Jansen and Nightwish. :-)))
Does she listens to Floor and Nightwish since that time?
Good song too. Nightwish should play it.
Floor:Que bella obra de arte♥Que hermoso recuerdo!Diosaaaa♥!!!666
NIGHTWISH ARMY COSTA RICA DIVISIÓN IS HERE 🤘💀🇨🇷
Hi Christi 👋HUGS.
Hello Lady,I think u should to react for band Blackbriar songs " I'd Rether Burn" or "Arms Of The Ocean",especially acoustic versions.
Yes, Kristi, Floor was a godess before she was a godess. Talent for days!
Hey, I see you are getting into the less known work from Floor...nice!
ReVamp had 2 albums only and they are both quite cool, but the era that it lasted wasn't great for her, she had a burn-out at that point, she was getting out of it when was called from NW...and the rest is history
If you want to know more about her past projects and have some time I reccomend you to check out a recent interview she did in the channel Breaking Absolutes, it's like from the last week, just before getting back to sing live in a show
Yeah, that's Ms. Floor Jansen. The only female vocalist on earth who can literally sing everything, mastering all possible vocal techniques. By the way, you look very beautiful Christi. Watched some earlier video's on your channel from a while ago, and you changed your hairstyle from (colored) middle brown, to nicely educated and matured grey. It looks very well on you. You are a beautiful lady. And your content has class and a lot of interesting information. Love your kind, friendly and open personality, and love your work. Keep it up!
Now it’s time for reaction when she sings on a track with Evergray In orbit
I saw a recent interview where Floor was asked if she had any nostalgia or missed her revamp days. The answer "NOPE"
she's knows how to utilize all the colors of the heavy metal rainbow if i can use that expression such a strong fierce woman
Hey, new Floor jansen cover song Frozen 2 Into the Unknown just released yesterday, awesome thanks 😀
This should be good. A whole new side of Floor. 😁
Nope...a whole old side of Floor. 😇
At the same time you video came online, Floor Jansen gave a 90 minute interview (very good one) about her career up to now. She describes her Revamp time as "an explosion of anger" and she really is not sure where it came from. See ua-cam.com/video/k936CEBbNIM/v-deo.html
I think your clip also shows why Floor was not a mainstream artist in her own country. It was all too wild for the general public (and for me as well).
You would want moments like these have possibilities to stop time.
Should watch Floor singing o mio babbino caro from puccini...
Such a great reaction. You are one of the best reactors out there :) I really recommend checking out Monolith of Doubt by Floor´s first band After Forever. It´s so amazing to see her all the way back in 2002. ua-cam.com/video/3TmKHkQx45U/v-deo.html
Very attractive lady with a great reaction.
Nobody expects much from the first band of the day, but then…. Floor happens!
Floor canta como lle dá a gana: soberbia!!! Graciñas e saúdos☠️🤘
