Do you seriously believe God exists, when you look around the Globe, and see nothing but pain and suffering. @@vincea9130 Hi Vince! I took a second to think over your question. I believe God exists because I have experienced my own weakness. I know without God sustaining me, my life would be miserable and I'd have nothing. By trusting in God, my sufferings become redemptive and I find joy or peace in the midst of them, strange as that sounds. I also can face the problems of life with bold confidence, believing the words of the gospel that say, "Do not be afraid! God is with you." I consider my faith a great gift, and I hope and pray you can find that too someday. :)

      @MK-Hogan 3 роки тому +7

@@vincea9130 what I don’t understand is how people see suffering in humanity and somehow conclude that it means God doesn’t exist. Like, just because we wreak havoc on ourselves...what does that have to do with God existing or not? I have two parents that love me. I also suffer, make regrettable choices, hurt people even if I don’t mean to, suffer the consequences of other people’s choices by living in a society with them, etc. Does that mean my parents don’t exist or haven’t taught me how to be a good person? Of course not. I don’t think people realize how far reaching the consequences are, of the actions human beings take. It’s like the argument - people are dying of cancer. What God would create cancer, inflict people with it or allow people to suffer with it? That whole concept is so short sighted it’s literally laughable. People have been around, exercising their will, for a LONG time. All the choices we’ve made, chemicals we’ve created, waters we’ve polluted, trash we’ve piled up, food supply we’ve corrupted, etc., makes it pretty obvious how things like cancer and disease develop, and that God has nothing to do with it. The long lasting and far reaching consequences of all the things happening around the globe accumulate, collect, grow, mutate, and spread to people causing disease that innocent people will suffer with. This idea that because humanity suffers then God must not exist is just intellectually lazy to me.

I think in a way you have the answer to the question: You are grateful that Peterson shares himself with the world. A lot of people want that gratitude directed towards them instead. Many think that Peterson does not deserve the gratitude that he receives, and you see it in how those people react to him: How he's saying nothing new, that he's just yet another self-help book author, how he's conning people out of their money, how he's evil and his ideas are evil and everyone who follow him are fools or evil as well. They need to minimize him as much as possible, because these people feel small and insignificant, and they've convinced themselves that what they do helps other people, make the world a better place; but then they see all this gratitude flow towards Jordan they go insane, screaming "Why not ME!?".

The hate mainly stems from how he became so widely noticed in the first place: him speaking out against the c-16 bill in Canada.
People then and now continue to absolutely refuse to listen to everything he has to say. He's taken out of context a lot and interviewers edit their videos with him to make him appear sexist, angry, transphobic ect. I suppose for more views and whatnot. It's disgusting.

You don't realize but there is ideological war going on where left tells that your own personal state is due to oppression by others. And they are dominating everywhere colleges, big companies, media, political governments. Peterson's idea is completely opposite of it asking individuals to take responsibility and find meaning in their life by taking those responsibilities. He is antithesis of this oppression culture, hence so much hate. They target each individual ruthlessly who stands in their way, and they are right now at position where they literally lead the narrative, making Peterson a Villain is very easy job, only stopping factor is real people listening to peterson and improving their life.

It may very well be true but it also might not. Jordan has been through a hell of a lot in the past few years and to say that even on his worst days, he is better than the majority of people not only holds him to an impossibly high standard, but also diminishes the magnitude to which those bad days effect him.

The story of Moshe Rabbenu at Mount Sinai is probably my favorite to ponder. For me, Exodus tells us how important names are. Personally, I had an out-of-body experience when I misused drugs in my youth and it was my name that brought my soul back to my body. It is when our soul dwells on earth that our name channels energy to the body. Anyway, apologies for my rambling.. Best of luck to you in your journey!

"Justifiable does not mean, it is helpful." I heard this before from Dr. Peterson but it dawned on me how true it is. I say I had willful blindness before.
You have been in my prayer daily. Thank you for your knowledge and wisdom.

Now that upload was poetic. You just uploaded this video while the bells of my local church were tolling, signifying the resurrection of Christ. I am Greek Orthodox (thats why we celebrate easter now) and you helped me understand why i like Christianity even though i never considered my self to be religious at all. Very happy to see your videos / appearances are more and more frequent. Talk about resurrection. Χρηστός Ανέστη.

The son of Jesus Christ (King David) is reporting for duty.
He was a man whose tongue held no lies,
For he was the direct descendant of our father in the heavenly skies.
Born to a body of fleshy sin,
Though what laid beneath was unlike the rest of his kin.
      Jesus had the utmost grace,
Never being wavered by evils face.
He was wise beyond any years,
Performing miracles that would bring crowds to tears.
A beacon of light on top of a starless mountain,
Where words of wisdom poured out of him as if there ran a cosmic fountain.
His eyes pierced through you with a single glance,
Leaving even the most hardened individuals in quite the trance.
The Holy Spirit so ever majestically flowed inside this man,
Naturally people caught notice and became a fan.
Students began showing up from every mold,
When they heard his words their hearts were sold.
Wicked men put a price on Jesus's head,
He was wanted alive or dead.
Despite this he and his disciples continued their teachings,
Where on occasion they endured terrible beatings.
One of the twelve apostles turned to black,
      No longer having Jesus's back.
Judas Iscariot had done Satan's bidding,
And it is in hell where he now is sitting.
Jesus died on the cross to pay for our shortcoming,
However don't be saddened for if you believe in him you will see him at your homecoming.
There he sits at the right hand of God's throne,
Being the voice of truth and love that we all have known.
Satan's tongue is coated in a layer of deceit,
And he tramples over promises with his feet.
He's a being who is bound by deceptions,
Whose very essence oozes with misconceptions.
He struggles to look you in your eyes,
For his gaze holds nothing but lies.
On occasion he will give you his hand,
But don't be fooled by his stand.
He seeks to corrupt your heart,
You would be wise to avoid him from the start.
Seeking quick pleasures and casting aside love,
He traverses this land with push and shove.
Now Lucifer was once not lost,
But pride blinded him at a cost.
      Disobeying God he waged war,
      Becoming detestable to the core.
Today he is the ruler of Earth,
Though for all his power he has no real worth.
However most of us have still been sold,
Giving into sin and becoming cold.
Nearly everyone is a puppet dancing on strings,
Marching to delusion for their unjust kings.
My people have given into lust,
      Becoming robots full of rust.
However you my child are the exception,
So when you meet me don't forget to mention.
That you alone have been granted the key,
And before your glory they shall all bend a knee.

It beggars belief that there are so many individuals, that have this incredibly scewed collective understanding of who Dr. Jordan Peterson is.. it is incredible how little empathy, from those that claim to have it in abundance, has been shown to the Peterson family over this testing time for all of you.. but it is also incredible how you keep going, despite all of it, Jordan. I am just some guy from Eastern Europe, but I am also far richer than I would be, had I not discovered your lectures and videos. So, from the bottom of my heart - thank you. Just, thank you so so much for all that you do and let light shine upon you, Jordan, and your wonderful family.

"Every student needs a teacher. Every traveler needs a guide. Every explorer needs a map. You have all of these now. Take heart. Now you must find the courage and the determination to proceed. Do not become fixated on the great spiritual assistance that you have. Rather, become focused on solving problems today and tomorrow and the day after. Solve a little problem today and you will be able to solve a greater one tomorrow. Start with little things. Attend to the practical matters in your life. Bring your life into greater harmony. Do not try to make everything beautiful, quiet and peaceful. This is not what we mean. What we mean is bringing things into right order."

    • @desnock
      @desnock 3 роки тому +1

however not all students know how to discern a fool from a wise man. traveler's can mistake a guide for a cult leader. the mapping needs to be considered thoughtfully and soberly - so relying on an addict MIGHT be a red flag.
Solving little problems like not relying on others to think for you WILL avoid bigger problems in the future, for sure.
