- I installed an Alpine radio / stereo / head unit (ilx-w650 ) in my 2007 Toyota Yaris. it wasn't easy. but it wasn't too hard either. It might seem daunting when you see that weird factory stereo built into that triangular piece of dash. But if you get the right trim piece and adapters, it's only mildly more difficult than a standard simple install. Heres a parts list and step by step instructions. Even an advanced option to hide the bluetooth microphone. Hope this helps. Enjoy!
Thank you very much for this video man, blessings!
@@Suka_Rain you're very welcome. Glad I could help.
Thanks for the thorough install. Appreciate it. My factory stereo is different than yours so I think I can just reuse faceplate as it's a double din. I always liked Crutchfield too. Soldering is the best method as those butt connections take up alot of room with wiring harness.
Does the radio not have a Aux port at the rear to connect a aux extension cable so you dont need to use a modulator, i know those things suck when it comes to audio quality when you can run directly from your ipod via 3.5mm jack. :) ow yes the reason i ended up checking your vids is because i have a yaris sedan 2006/2007 thankfully it has a standard toyota yaris double din radio so dont need to get a new panel, i wanted to know if a standard 7" radio would fit, thinking of putting one of those andriod media ones with wifi so i could hotspot of my phone and watch youtube and use the nav and things, also run some customer APK apps on there that might come in handy, only issue is i dont know which budget one to get with the latest andriod and supports playstore :?
@@ZeeDeeLicious great question. It does have an aux, but it is usb. It will only link up with newer technology. I can't hook up my old ipod to it. As far as audio quality. This module plugs directly into the antenna port. It actually sounds really good and only acts up if you are extremely close to a radio station on the same frequency. This is easily fixed by switching to a different frequency. But I don't think you'll need the module as long as your phone or mp3 player are modern. Bluetooth orvthe usb port will suffice.
Where’d you buy the panel that separate part that u changed?
I bought it on ebay. Its also available from junkyards. The dealership sells them, but they ask too much.
where did you buy the adapters?
Crutchfield. Com recommended AND provided everything.
🤘
Lol
You're out of focus.
Sorry. I'm just one guy and his phone. This is a labor of love. To help people out. If I ever hit 1k subscribers and start earning a dollar or two, then I can invest in better equipment and step up my game. Right now, I'm just trying to record everything I do and help my subscribers save a few dollars in the limited time I have when I'm not working or carrying for my family. 🤷♂️
@@jimmybs don't apologies, he needs to get a life. The video was great.
