Your progress and growth has shown throughout the years and im glad you're still doing it. The determination and drive is very important to continue doing something your so passionate about and i appreciate that in you because not many people are committed to their own passions and tend to give up before any progress shows. So keep up the work and i hope your journey continues to unfold

I cannot even describe how thankful I am for this... As most artists do, there have been times when I stopped seeing progress and felt like quitting altogether. But you simply must keep moving forward, driven by the potential you hold! Have a most wonderful day :)

@@anartsyaquatic you as well. I know the struggle all too well myself, so I recognized the talent and potential you've shown as I am also working towards those goals as well.

Lately I've also been in a bit of a stump artistically. I draw much less and I'm not seeing as much improvement because of it which saddens me a bit. But growth is quite slow, and the better you get at drawing, the slower it is. I wish you the very best on your journey!!

This was a helpful video. I used to draw a lot as a kid, but I stopped drawing once I was in college and I regret that to this day because I really want to make comics. I'm still trying to find that drive to actually learn anatomy. Great video!

One great thing about life is that, usually, it is never too late to begin learning something (or resume learning in your case). It is much tougher once you've got real responsibilities, but absolutely possible! I wish you the very best!!

This just motivated me to keep going. I picked up drawing 16 days ago. Progress is slow, but I’m definitely getting better. Thanks for this tho, and congrats!! All your arts look absolutely amazing!!

I’m not really a fan or digital art, but the progress you’ve made is crazy good. I was watching and I thought a lot of the drawings were just “okay” but around 2021/22 you improved a lot and most of the art was excellent. I wish the video was longer and showed more of your artwork tho.

Thank you for the insight! I remember before starting drawing digitally I had thought about how it would potentially hasten my improvement with the help of easy-to-use reference, digital tools (different brushes, digital paints, layers), etc. Now I can comfortably say that it did indeed speed things up quite a lot!
My favorite discovery about digital art was that surprisingly my traditional inking and painting skills improved with my digital ones, even though I barely painted in real life.
Anyhow, thank you for watching the video! I hope you have a great rest of your day!

I really love landscape art, just making a world, the thing is I’m lazy… and I am stuck making the same fanart for years now and have no idea how to improve. If I focus on landscape without learning anatomy then how will I put my characters into my world?? This kinda thing I e always left to my further self but as of rn I don’t feel like I’m improving. I guess it just comes with time

I feel you so hard on this whole statement. Since I was mostly drawing fanart portraits for a long time, trying to draw landscapes was extremely uncomfortable at first. But by finding landscape artists who made process videos and generally just inspired me made me more confident in pushing through and actively study what they were doing.
I wish you the best of luck in your art journey and I believe with enough strategic practice, you'll be able to achieve most of what you want in art!

Id like to ask how you approached learning values as it is where I am at right now or more like I'm about to start

    • @anartsyaquatic
      @anartsyaquatic  5 місяців тому

I remember going through a whole lot of UA-cam tutorials, analyzing and studying different pictures with lots of depth.
The most important thing I did was overcome my fear of strong values. I used to be very scared of putting down a harsh shadow as I thought it would ruin the final picture. And it did most of the time! But without trying and learning how to use deeper contrast you don't improve much in this specific area.
When it comes to resources, there are some that are really solid! Marco Bucci has a great video on values as well as Tyler Edlin. Those are two that I remember watching years back.
I hope your art journey is going great!

I don't believe so! Here is a link to a short article about Jocelin and his art. The writers refer to him as "he".
