A company is not a person, until it benefits it to pretend to be, then when a crime is committed, it's just a corporation mannnn no one is at fault here... :Ninja smoke bomb:
True. Just like when Clinton deletes thousands of emails and destroys electronic devices "she just didn't know what she was doing" according to James Comey but if any of us did it it'd be destroying evidence
I got my car from Carvana two years ago and the opposite problem happened to me. I financed the car and randomly got the title mailed to me long before paying it off. Soon after, someone somewhere realized their mistake and DMV threatened to cancel my registration if I didn’t return the title. That’s the strangest non-mechanical car problem I experienced.
Happened to me also. Bought a subaru at subaru dealership and soon after got sent title. The same resulted in a few letters stating the error and requested the title surrender to the DMV
That would include Ernie...the guy who sends out massive employee emails...Ernie Garcia, keep your goofy emails to yourself. No one wants to hear your political views or social crusades.
Lol, this is only the tip of the iceberg. They laid off a huge number of people a few weeks ago, zero notice, people came into work and found their belongings in a box handed to them in the lobby, others were simply told to meet another employee or manager and hand over their equipment. Some are complaining they haven't been paid their final paychecks, also heard complaints that they didn't pay employees for their banked PTO when laying them off, and the icing on the scumbag cake is that they erroneously reported a ton of these layoffs (possibly all) as firings/terminations as to attempt to avoid the massive spike in unemployment premiums that a RIF of this size brings, which means they must have lied in their reporting regarding reasoning for termination. These bozos were trading at $350 a share 8 months ago, their share price has plummeted over 90% to as low as $26 a share. Guaranteed we'll find out about bogus options giveaways and illegal stock sales along with huge fat bonuses as they hemorrhaged funding and revenue money. The last 6 years of meme stocks, crypto / NFT's, massive pump and dumps and now explosive recession grown out of pandemic profiteering has destroyed the economy for everyone but the scheisters and swindlers. I hate this time line.
The CEO hints behind the company name. You can't arrest the "company" for wrong doing. Even if executives knew about the problem. "It's a company issue, not an individual issue". Hence, no jail time for the CEO/Executives.
I called Carvana a few weeks ago before I sold my old car. My circumstances were tough since I’m 19 and didn’t have much credit history and I also work 1099s (I have 3 streams of income however the most recent was doordash) but I asked them a million questions addressing my lack of credit history AND my income. I was told that credit would not be a problem and that I could refinance later, and they told me multiple times that as long as I provided bank statements that I would be able to purchase with them. Again I confirmed this information several times and they told me every time that I would be good. So I sold my car and went through the entire process, ordered the car, set a delivery date, SIGNED THE DOCUMENTS FOR THE CAR……. And it wasn’t until AFTER I’d finished the process as if the car was MINE, that they called me and told me they can’t accept my income. Turns out it was a blessing in disguise because I ended up buying a car from enterprise and it’s a newer car with less miles and over $100 LESS a month than what Carvana offered me🤷🏾♂️
They always tell you that you can refinance later in order to justify the enormous interest rate that they will get you. Plus if you’re already in a situation where you can only get that high interest rate it’s unlikely that a company will refinance your car in the future. Not only are income and credit used when refinancing but there are mile and year limits for the car as well. Always try to buy a car out right even if it’s not the one you want.
My gf worked at one of their processing buildings and you should see how awful their “repair” process was. My gf had to photo them and it was her job to inspect the cars for issues before photo. The issues ranged from wrong color on paint repair, badges being mixed up, rust only being covered and not fixed etc. her boss got mad because she was “sending too many back” when they all were in serious need of fixes. Horrible company in dozens of ways.
Carvana is shady as can be. I think their “car vending machine was a big gimmick. I don’t see it lasting much longer with how they’ve been operating as of late. Also I’ve noticed their prices are pretty high vs buying an identical car elsewhere. Same make, model, year, mileage, trim etc. they were 5,000 higher than the ones I’ve seen in traditional car dealerships.
Lmfaooo who would buy a car this way??? What are you scared to go and haggle at a dealership because it’s inconvenient??? People are such pussies these days
You mean like a car dealership? I have watched a dealership admit a trade in of mine had a transmission issue which I openly admitted. Very next day it was listed for 8000 for a relatively higher mileage for that make HHR btw..kinda outrageous and I know they didn't find the to detail and photo AND teardown a closed tranny I'm less than 24 hours I've had more issues with dealerships than this company
I've worked for Carvana for a few years and the amount of broken parts i've seen them just super glue together is absolutely ridiculous, not only that but they treat all their employees like dogs for a very minimal pay rate
I worked at Carmax for 7 years and saw similar situations, although Carmax solved titled issues much much faster. A lot of people don't realize how messy the title situation can be with used cars, especially if the previous owner financed the car through a shady 3rd tier lender (who holds the title until the prior loan is paid off).
CarMax shady asf with there no haggle scams to over sell cars with minimum maintenance. Pretty much 90 percent of used car dealerships are shady 😂 i worked in car sales over 10 years but stopped. Nothings changed!
I recently bought a car from CarMax. I wouldn't have gone through with the sale if they didn't have the title in-hand. I quickly got my title and financed through CarMax. They were pretty good it was a seamless process.
@@vWaLLBangz Service records don't mean shit especially Carfax. It's a scam bro anybody with money can manipulate them. Trust me i talked to OG Car Salesman
@@sanchezs7614 lol og car salesmen who tackle dealer fees on every little thing and some things that don't even cost money. The homie hookup.
DO NOT ORDER A CAR FROM CARVANA, I placed an order on a 2014 lexus ct200h about 2 months ago. Was promised to be delivered 2 weeks after order. Order got delayed 3 times and I ended up canceling the order. everytime I called I just got the run around and nobody had a straight answer. at 1 point they told me they could not locate the vehicle. Not sure how this business still exist, but so glad I didnt go through with my purchase.
My friend worked for carvana. Part of his job was clearing check engine codes (without fixing the problem) and driving them for a while to make sure they properly masked them.
I was in a situation where I was _this close_ to buying a car from them and I remember my gut was like “You know the saying ‘if it sounds too good to be true - ‘?” So at the last second I opted out pretty much solely because my gut wouldn’t shut up about it. In hind-sight I’m *really* glad I decided to listen to it.
They're literally selling their cars the way a drug dealer would. They should be forced to cease all operations, and those responsible should be doing at least 15 years.
Why? I got my 2020 Colorado from Carvana. It's been almost a year, and I had my title after 30 days.... So you just assume it's all like that, automatically?
@@Jason_Van_Stone From what I've read there's just as many horror stories with Carvana as there are good ones. Horror stories as in obvious imperfections/issues (cosmetic and mechanical) that weren't specified on the listing, issues with Bridgecrest financing even after the vehicle was returned within the 7 day return window and the person didn't have the car anymore, receiving the title like the example in this video, etc. In my opinion consider yourself lucky everything worked out
@@abadmixtape I understand that and I also understand it probably has a lot to do with what State/area you're in, as well. I'm in Southern California, where most companies strive to achieve....or it means lawsuit lmao. Different ethics, different ways to go about handling issues in different cities, states, etc...
I wanted to love this company and experienced the same registration issues. Additionally, I repeatedly found undocumented (on the Carvana’s website) vehicle damage that had been poorly repaired. In one instance they had “fixed” a bumper with double sided tape. I’m just waiting for a class action lawsuit to come up at this point… 🙄
That’s exactly why they’re in business, cause class action lawsuits don’t give you Jack. They waste your time and at best you’re compensated for your time. I’ve been saying for years, this entire system that we operate under in this country is not on capitalism but on scammers and scammees. And the shame is black people have been telling us that for over 400 years, and Jesus has been telling us that for over 2000 years. Just look up “money” in the Bible. It is always attributed to “evil”. Just study what exactly was the problem Jesus was trying to solve. And tell me it wasn’t related to money.
Lol sawdust in transmissions, wheels literally welded back together, body filed with Bondo and painted over and those are just a few examples I blew a three foot chunk of paint off a cars hood from shit bodywork they literally painted over it with a rattle can and sent it on its way (the car was flat black to begin with but it was custom done and actually half decent)
Carvana is overpriced, when I was shopping they were always priced about 2K higher than private parties and even most used car dealers. All because they know people will pay more for "online convenience".
When the salesman get shitty get his boss. When his boss turns out to be scum get the owner or owners rep on sight. You will eventually get a deal done right.
@@edsloan8535 I sold cars for a year...go to the BBB. I quit after they robbed an elderly later for a Jaguar worth 11,000.00, took it for 500.00 as a trade in and sold it for 15,000.00 for less than a week.
I got a car from Vroom a few years ago and had the title delayed about 90 days. Other than that things went pretty good. I couldn't find a certain car locally but found it at Vroom for an okay price. The title was finally delivered to the DMV when I threatened to file a complaint with the state since dealers have 30 days to deliver the title. Hopefully some states will pull their dealers license in order to get things under control.
i wouldn't buy another car from vroom if you paid for it they absolutely suck took them 3 weeks to deliver my vehicle it was damaged and filthy took them 60 days to get my tags and title to me never again
I also had a terrible experience from Vroom, from their incompetent associates with so much discrepancies with my information I provided during the car buying process, taking a long time to get my car delivered, titles and registration also taking a long time to receive, and also getting a dirty car- with exterior issues and mechanical issues that wasn't disclosed. I would tell people to steer far away from Vroom.
@@WhyRyouRunningsir I didn't have any mechanical issues. However i have to admit the car was relayed to a local tow company for delivery and my car was filthy from the drive from their location a couple of states away to my town. Forget those commercials where a nice clean shiny truck pulls up with a smiling lady delivering your car lol. Oh I just remembered, 1 frigging key! It's pretty standard these days for those POS shag boys to steal smart keys to make some money on the side. That probably wasn't Vroom's fault. I personally think ALL dealers should deliver cars with 2 keys, no excuses.
carvana makes its money on financing and loans. the cars they sell aren’t profitable and they consistently dump more into the cars than they paid (employee) so have to make it back from shitty financing to customers
“Bad credit” is so common it’s sad. People can’t get approved for a $500 Firestone Card to fix their car. Why? They are a liability. It’s not about being poor. A drug addict I knew got approved because he had never had a credit card.
Never buy a car without having your mechanic take a look at it first! And if the person selling the car “doesn’t let you” then they’re hiding something!!!!
Most of the cars they sell are returned lease cars bought in auto auctions. This might be one of the reasons for the delay. I have bought more than one car from Carvana, the first was a Scion XD, it was so nasty I didn't take it home. Then I got Toyota Corolla that had a clean Carfax, but later it was discovered the car had been in an accident and repaired. A friend was a manager at a body shop, he uncovered it in five minutes. Carvana is supposed to examine the cars for issues, how did they miss it? I bought a third car, a Hyundai Tucson, this time I examined it closely, it had been repainted with a new clear coat that had "fisheye," in the paint where it had not been prepared properly before painting. To their credit, I had no issues getting my money back. Would I buy from them again? No.
@@Cocochantelle yes, I was not finding much in the regular dealerships. At the time I didn't have a car, so I didn't have much of a choice. The Scion came from the DC area, lots of winter time salt, and abuse as a commuter car. So I only looked at cars with a southern heritage figuring a better body condition, total fail! Let's face it, buying a car from any dealership, traditional, or online is a gamble. Either way, you will most likely get ripped off.
CARVANA HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR YEARS. They have been investigated time and again, but seldom prosecuted. They were under investigation in Florida in December, 2021. The State threatened to suspend their license, but then in January of 2022, the investigation was mysteriously called off, and Carvana went back to business as usual. They employ a team of well experienced lawyers that find loopholes. But it shouldn't come as a surprise if they are bribing official$. 💰 💵💰 💵💰 💵 💰
Instead of them paying big money for lawyers they should be actually paying to repair the cars and deliver them correctly and then they wouldn’t have to be buying layers or paying off officials, MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!!!
As a former employee of carvana i worked in the detail department and when it came to detailing cars it was ridiculous they gave us 13 min. Per station and a lot of cars were bug infested lots of dog hair sand all over and it’s sad because I would always get in trouble for taking too long and they wouldn’t even try getting half of the stuff it would just get spray painted and sent to the photo department they didn’t care about touching up cars much paint department would have the bumper lighter than the rest of the car people would crash the cars and they wouldn’t even report it they would just get the dent out repaint and continue like nothing ever happened the build department would “fix” cars and cars would catch fire I have pics vids everything for the proof the job sucked
I got a car from carvana a few years ago, it was a Buick 2014 lacrosse and I noticed that there was a lot of dust and sand in the engine and the inside of the doors and I could not figure out where all that sand and dust was coming from. I'll wipe it down by the trunk and try to get it cleared around the engine and the doors but it would always be there. Would you happen to know why that would be since you used to work there? I also had to take the vehicle within the first week of my purchase to an auto mechanic because of the brakes and the auto attack panic called carvana has some safely said to them do you guys really inspect these cars because of the condition of the brakes. I kept the car for a few years and now it's gone. But definitely would like your inside on the condition
@@itsintheword230 sorry for the late reply but the sand and dust could’ve come from the car being painted the paint department does sand the cars down so that’s where all of that dust sand most likely came from they either sanded to close to the car or never removed the bumper fender or whatever needed to be sanded so the car could be repainted and as far as carvana “inspecting” cars yea they are horrible at it my buddy recently got a 370z from there and already within the first month has had to change the battery serpentine belt and fix some parts of the transmission granted the warranty did cover all of that but it sucks when you get a car and want to have fun and pretty much have to go 1 month without the car after owning it for 1 month
As an ex employee of Carvana this doesn’t surprise me one bit. When COVID first hit we where laid off and left jobless (some of my coworkers became homeless because of this.) A few weeks after being laid off the CEO was on the news after being caught inside trading and saw returns of a $4 billion net worth increase. Companies that don’t treat their employees well don’t treat customers well. All of this goes to say without the inexcusable mechanical issues I saw on cars that where sold without being disclosed to customers. The companies motto is “treat every car like it’s being sold to your mom…” yeah right Carvana!
In the case of "treat every car as if being sold to your mom" maybe that is true in carvanas case? Maybe they would sell her a car that would get her killed
Companies will use any excuse when they lay off people. I worked at a place that laid people off after 9/11. Then a few days later they hired some temps to cover their jobs.
Most companies in America don't offer a retirement or decent wages because these companies know their days are numbered so mine as well take as much as possible.
I bought a car from Carvana and had a terrible experience, it took 3 months when they finally admitted they lost my car…I don’t know how you lose a whole car. Then I reordered a different car and it was delayed constantly for weeks until I finally received it. And upon taking delivery the car came with countless issues, their car fax stated no accidents but there were misaligned panels, missing bumper bolts and poorly color matched repainted panels, broken trunk struts, don’t know how it passed inspections honestly
That’s horrible, tbh that’s why you should always get your own car fax.. at least buy the $10 car fax anyway.. my experience was actually really good.. I bought a Mazda 3 but I ordered it where I could go pick it up near me and it didn’t have to be shipped.. possibly why I had a better experience
Even if you got your own car fax it wouldn't necessarily list all accidents. Some are not recorded due to low damage. Often if the car didn't get fixed through insurance, repairs and damage won't show up on car fax.
Everytime I drive by a Carvona vending machine, I think to myself what a stupid idea. Feel sorry for the investors who invested in this soon to be bankrupt business.
Investor profit comes from stocks , which comes from presumed profit, not actual. If they fudge the numbers and fake profits , the investors make money. It’s not that hard to play the system . The only people who suffer are customers
This doesnt surprise me. I have been in the auto sales industry for almost 20 years. Anytime we ship a car out of state its a nightmare for the dealer and the customer. Every state DMV operates independently and has different rules and guidelines. One missing signature, or document can send your application back. I can imaging with thousands of cars sold each month their title and reg department is a complete sh*t show. Given that almost all DMV offices in 50 states require wet signatures on documents, not sure how companies like Carvana are able to complete the correct transfer paperwork with a remote sale. Although I love the idea of online auto sales, the process will quickly get sidelined by government regulations. Oh well
It really isn’t that difficult. Don’t list the car for sale until you have the title in hand. Problem solved. I used to work for Carmax and that was our policy. We either had to have a tracking number for the envelope on its way with the title inside OR we had to be holding the title. And we have power of attorneys for both the seller and the buyer signed in case there is an issue.
My take is that Carvana is exactly the kind of dealership that it claims in advertisements to be against. Just take a look at the father and son duo who own a large stake in the company. They originally made their money in the used car business selling cars to sub prime buyers which became the DriveTime Automotive Group. In 2014 the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau levied an $8 million dollar penalty for the company’s debt collection practices. They repeatedly used Illegal/abusive tactics against customers with late payments. They would harass customers by calling their work place and report inaccurate information to credit bureaus. Before that, the father plead guilty in a felony bank fraud charge while part of the Lincoln Savings and Loans scandal.
It's not hard to pay your bills, tho. I don't get why subprime is even a thing. Pay your bills on time or don't buy a friggin car. (Driving the same car 13 years)
this is why criminals in prison should not be allowed to obtain college degrees-when they get out they can work a labor job thats it.who cares about the rare one that changed their life-its not worth the risk.
I bought a 2013 Honda Accord LX from Carvana and used their “in house financing” when really they financed the car through some other lender with an much higher interest rate than what I had originally agreed to. I filled a complaint but had to keep the loan for 6 months then get it refinanced through my credit union. Also the first day I got the car it wouldn’t start cause it had a bad starter. They sent me back and forth until I threatened to sue them then they payed to get it fixed.
I went to carmax & they wouldn’t sell me a car even though I was willing to pay in full because they didn’t have the title… that sad this man had to wait so long but I’m happy he got help & I hope others going threw the same get justice as well.
Yes I can vouch for him, sold cars at carmax for a while. This didn’t happen often, but we would transfer cars between stores and some cars would come from out of state. We couldn’t sell those cars outright until properly titled, it could be financed if I remember correctly.
I’m guessing they technically didn’t own the car and that the title was sitting in a bank somewhere. Or they bought it from the bank and the bank never sent the title. We have those issues at the company I work for
This shouldn't be acceptable to begin with. If a company is seen using unfair or bad business practices, they indeed SHOULD be shut down immediately. Ppl already have enough to deal with then to have car ownership issues. Also surprised xfinity hasn't been sued by all of the customers that were paying for new equipment which they never had in their possession unbeknownst to them. Multiple ppl I know have had this happen to them. Neither have the time to fight something small and stupid like this. Just an example.
What's the point of politicians and the justice system when they routinely refuse to do their jobs. This is yet another sickening example of just how out of control our legislators have become.
So glad I cancelled my order with them. Shipping got delayed last minute twice so I figured they weren't being forthcoming with what was actually going on. Ended up getting a better version of the car I wanted with less miles for 3k cheaper at a local dealer.
This same problem happened to me. I waited 8 months for a title - finally had to file a title complaint with the state and magically my title came the next week and Carvana issued me a credit on my monthly payments.
Trust me people been doing this since The Mac computers and their routers had came out in the late 90s that's why you see stuff like DriveTime and carvana popping up
Something like this happened to my uncle but the opposite lol they sent him the title way before he was done paying the car off. They asked for the title back & he told them “What title”?? 😂😂 He still has his car.
I was in a pre-order with Carvana in AZ and i was waiting and one day they just decided the car was more expensive even though i had already pre ordered. I called and asked about it and they denied that the price had been tampered with and said i would just need to pay it. That being said i just canceled my order and bought a car somewhere else but i waited over a month just to have the price changed.
While car shopping 2 years ago, I looked into many different options through Carvana. While doing so, I found many different cases and statements of just outright illegal or very dishonest practices. After all this revelation, the federal government needs to step in and stop this company. I hope all these lawsuits end up with good results for these poor customers who are being mistreated.
I bought mine from Carvana a few years ago, got my plate and title within a few days from them, no issues when renewing it or with insurance..it was a great experience for me.

The first thing I thought of, when I heard about Carvana's car "vending machines," was scam. Nobody should ever buy a big ticket item like a car, solely online. If Carvana ever gets its act together, they should be required to provide customers with a CARFAX report on the spot. That way, you could tell the title is clean and that the car has never been in either an accident or a flood.
We recently sold my son's car to Carvana and to their credit they offered well above what local dealers offered us and made the transfer pretty painless. We never bought a car from them, but at least as sellers, we were very pleased.
My wife and I bought cars through Carvana. We moved states and it took over a year for us to get titles and register them in our state. It took several hours of phone calls as we were always rerouted to another department and told to wait for weeks at a time and see if the title ever arrived. They are the easiest place to buy a car from but if you live outside of Arizona, do not purchase as you will wait a year or more like us waiting for them to send a title.
It was a novel idea. Some people got a kick out of putting the giant coin in the "vending machine" and having the car fetched by machine or elevator and coming out at the presentation point. I opted to have my car delivered by flatbed, instead. My experience was very good, overall. Could I have found my car for a couple thousand less at a dealership? Probably, but then I would have had to GO to multiple dealerships, go through all their b.s. credit checks and shotgun hard hits on my credit report. Additionally, my credit wasn't the best, but Carvana approved me with no tricks. It was worth it, to me, not to have to deal with a dealership. My experience was very good, on the whole.

I have the same car and I bought it through a dealership. I would be pissed if they didn't give me my title. That's ridiculous and for a company to do that is inexcusable and they shouldn't be given another chance because all they do is defraud customers of their cars. It's a big shame because Carvana seemed like a good idea
I very nearly bought a Chevy Trax from them. They told me it would be delivered in a week, when that week passed, they told me the back windshield was damaged in towing, 2 weeks later and same story. They didn't offer any compensation, I had to ask for something, and they only offered $250, got too frustrated with them and ended up cancelling the purchase altogether.
Carvana can be an excellent choice if you want to avoid visiting multiple dealerships or haggling over price. The company's online listings make the process straightforward and quick. Carvana provides delivery and pickup options, and it offers financing options for nearly anyone.
I bought a car, paid for it on the 11th provided insurance on it on the 13th. delivery got pushed back to the 16th due to transportation issues. Delivery gets pushed back again this time a week to the 23rd due to issues getting a temporary tag. 23rd rolls around and I call them to find out they sold it to someone else on the 21sr. Say it was a mistake but refuse to cancel the new buyers order. I had a signed contract, paid for the car and paid for insurance for 10 days and they sell the car to someone else. This seems like it is illegal, then it has been over a week of calls every day trying to get my money back and they keep telling me there is nothing they can do. Their treasury dept. doesn't have a phone number and they are not responding to the email. This is insane.
The first time I saw a Carvana ad I just knew it had to be some kind of satire. Nope. You really can dupe people with *anything* so long as it has some gimmicky "futuristic" aspect to it.
I bought three cars from Carvana here in Texas. The last two we sold to me without a state inspection. I had to get the state inspection myself and then they reimbursed me. My question is why are they selling cars in Texas without a state inspection?
I owned Carvana stock as a short term trade before Covid-19. I heard rumblings about their practices and sold. Yes, the stock went into the 300s during Covid-19, but it's a house of cards.
Its so disgusting how they could have just done that at literally any point in the last 11 months but only did once he called the news and put them on blast
At companies like that, there’s so much going on that you can easily get distracted and forget to send out a particular person’s title. With this news story, their boss probably hounded at the workers until they found it
We should have the right to buy direct from the factory. No dealership, no middle man, no headaches, no hate towards dealership sales people and or manager. Why can't we buy direct from the factory?
I traded my 14mpg 4wd Tundra in for a more fuel efficient Lexus ES350 via Carvana. It was low miles(80k) and they gave me $20k for the truck, like 5k more than any other dealer. Truck was 10 years old with only 80k miles, but had peeling clear coat in a couple spots, worn tires, some seriously squeaky suspension/ball joints and was a base model with the small V8. FYI I bought the truck for 20k like 3 years prior. Lexus was about the same price, so it was almost a straight trade. I noticed a bit of paint work on the Lexus on the rear quarter, but it was a good color match and I pulled the carpet in the trunk and it looked factory straight. If I had just flat out bought the car I might have been a bit peeved, but I feel like I pulled one over on them dumping that truck on them.
@STEVE VENTO I would not buy a vehicle from Carvana period. The OP story sounds to me like they don't make good vehicle purchases in general. An 80k Toyota Tundra with those issues sounds like they neglect stuff.
This is also happening with online auto retailers like Vroom. My friend purcchased a car through Vroom and financing was to be handled through Santander Bank. After several months Santander did not receive the title and sold the loan to a bank in Texas. The bank in Texas does not have the title either and is being unresponsive to calls and emails. It's been 8 months and my friend cannot drive the car because it's not registered. Unbelievable that this is the nonsense you have to deal with now when purchasing a car from these online retailers.
I have inspected several of their cars for customers immediately after purchase. One failed safety inspection for 5 separate items. There was an inspection sticker for Missouri safety from carvana less than two weeks old. They will sell you a dangerous car and not care.
Dang it! I wanted to use them because I hate the social anxiety of going to a dealership and being bombarded by salespeople, but it looks I’m gonna have to do that anyway.😞
For some, buying a car at a dealership is a stressful experience. There are a lot of games involved with the negotiations. I'd buy online just to avoid the anxiety-inducing experience.
If he doesn't have that car registered or insured, then He should be careful in his city because most cities will impound that car if found on a public street without the documentation necessary.
I have bought a car from Carvana before. The buying experience I had was amazing and better than any dealership experience I ever had. However, lately Carvana has been very predatory with their lending and pricing. Their prices are far above the rest of the market now and finance rates are also much higher. Sad to see they're starting to get so bad when they used to be awesome.
I bought my VW SUV from Carvana in 2019, and the transaction mostly went well. I received the title and new tag in about 30 days. There was a dent on the side of the front passenger door, which was not listed on the sales listing. I pointed this out on the day that I picked up the car, and they filed a repair reimbursement request for $300. I had a check from them within a week, and had the dent repaired by a great local PDR technician for $150. About 1 month after receiving the title and new tag, I received another check from Carvana for $338 refunding unused tag and title fees. At that point I was pretty happy with them. The car has been great to this day. Either I was one of the lucky customers, or things have gotten much worse at Carvana.
I had my 2020 Colorado for almost a year now from Carvana, no issues. The buying experience was so smooth. Went on their website on a Friday evening, read everything, made my purchase, received my Truck, Sunday morning. The only person I had to talk to was the delivery driver lol
My son is a auto body painter he said don't ever ever ever buy a car from carvona . They are told to spray over rust paint damage they are crap. Never ever ever
I did business with this company and they cancelled my order because they wanted me to mail my title to them when it's clearly says to give the title to the tow truck guy when they arrive with the car from carvanna
People are lured to Carvana because they think it's hip and cool to buy a car off the internet and go to a "vending machine". It's the whole mindset of "wow look at me, I'm buying a car in a futuristic way. I'm so cool and special."
@@jasoncardenas8392 with vocabulary like yours it'll be funny to see what you get called in 20-30 years. And before you say you don't care, why would the OP care?
Title issues aside, who in their right mind would buy a car that they’ve never even seen in person, let alone test drive? Even with a “7 day return policy,” this is the thing about Carvana that baffles me the most.
I understand your concern, but for car enthusiasts when you target a car you know what you're looking for and in my case, my last 2 of 3 cars were purchased online without test driving them.
how would it be worse than doing a 15 minute test drive in store? this is the equivalent of being able to take the car home off the lot overnight, but for a whole week. I disagree wholeheartedly from buying from Carvana, but I applaud their 7 day return guarantee, it has spurred other big brands like CarMax and others to have similar policies
It happened to me last year. I paid full cash for my car, and it took them about three months and countless calls before having my title. This company shouldn’t be allowed to do business anymore!
I was in TireKingdom once and overheard a worker telling a lady with her family that their car needed around $2000 worth of repairs. Her face was livid when she mentioned calmly to the mechanic that she had just bought the car from Carvana a week ago..
If I ever went to Carvana, I would bring it to a trusted mechanic IMMEDIATELY. They have a 7 day money back guarantee. I would coordinate with the shop beforehand to ensure I could get it in and return in that 7 days if necessary.
Probably in Florida. Most of the customers would do a buyers check, AFTER they bought the car! I don’t know how many times I told them it was a POS and they still would buy the car. Now the prices are so high those type of NPC’s are finished.
I used to work for a Carvana inspection center in Arizona, I’ve seen cars come in that were in awful shape and it was very rare that they wouldn’t get rid of them, instead, they’re push for us to make it work. Most of the bad things I’ve seen have always come from terribly done aftermarket parts, they do get removed, but they don’t do a good job at trying to cover it up.
I had a dream I sold my 2005 Suzuki XL-7 with 364,771 miles on it for $2,300.00 to Carvana, but then I realized I couldn't find a replacement vehicle NEAR that price, thankfully, I woke up!!
I had a 2005 Suzuki(Suzi). I gave it to my cousin last year. I wasn’t great at upkeep. And she still ran great. Even after two accidents(my fault). She was my first car. Keep your Suzuki. ❤️
Dealerships, including Carvana don't actually pay cash for the vehicles they're purchasing. they essentially have a line of credit to purchase vehicles, the company who extends the line of credit holds onto the titles until the dealership pays back that amount owed for that vehicle. when there are cashflow issues, dealers can take the funds from a sale and instead of using those funds to pay off the amount owed for the sold car so the title can be cleared and sent to the new owner, they use it for new purchases and expenses so they can keep the lights on and business operating. In addition to this, if a dealership purchases a vehicle with a lien on it, they have to wait for the title to arrive from the lender who is releasing the lien, many times dealers sell the vehicles prior to actually receiving the title.
Great explanation. I work as a VIN inspector at a DMV in CA and I see folks EVERYDAY trying to register vehicles here bought from these types of businesses who seem to have no idea where their title is or how to get it. I'm not the smartest man in the world but I would NEVER fork over money for a major purchase like a car unless I had the title in my hands.
I think you are referring to flooring. Upon sale of any floored unit the flooring is paid. If not you will not be flooring your inventory much longer. Flooring companies, in our case Bank of America come often , very often and audit our inventory. Not sure how the company your referring to manages to not pay their flooring. And our flooring company does not hold any titles. Unless the funded the loan for the retail sale, which is not looking. Flooring is against our credit. Funding a loan is on customers credit. That’s for brand new inventory. Wholesale is different, we buy and pay at auction or whatever we cannot take car w/o paying the auction who is then responsible for producing and delivering a title to us. Very often delayed. And don’t forget trade ins. We pay for those as well, and surprise the condition of the vehicle and related paperwork is usually a nightmare. Regarding vehicles with liens, your correct we wait for title from whatever lender we paid off. If we did not then every car traded in would need to be paid in full for customer to have title in hand. Not gonna happen. And if we waited for every title to arrive to sell a car, we’d be out of business. Inventory costs money every day it’s on the lit. But you also have the option to buy something else that does have title in jacket.
Could be the company diminishing in quality from expanding too quickly or this is just a one off case ripe for views. I bought a car from Carvana in 2019 in socal. Delivery process was smooth. Paid it off in 2021, received the title shortly after. Each time I called customer service they were extremely polite and helpful. 30k miles later, car is still in excellent condition.
I live in Maryland where dealerships have to give you the title even if you're paying a loan on it and I brought my car from carvana I got my title 8 months later. They also did a registration for me which didn't take that long to come in along with my license plates.
I'm sure this is going to happen, I bet the pressure from states is also coming from the dealerships that are feeling that carvana car crunch. They are charting a new course in used car buy sell and trade in.
Dealerships have pushed folks that way with their bad deals on limited stocks. Good maybe they will get their shot back in gear. Cause mostly shady practices these days that USED to be the buy here pay here ones. There all turned into glorified JD Byriders. Used to be common for folks to deal with the same dealer year in and year out. They don't seem to get it they may make s bigger margin ripping folks off. But they lose repeat business. I've personally never been to the same dealer more than once and that's sad
Amazing! When a company begins to have an impact on an already "perceived" corrupt industry, suddenly news stories appear regarding issues and comments from people professing they are running scared. Wonder if FOX 4 has ever done a story about local dealers changing the car prices on consumers at the last second, or advertising deals which never seem to exist, or charging more for cars based on sex (maybe). Read the story on the Tucker automobile and how Ride share barely survived initial pushback. Companies enter a market, challenge a premise and suddenly new reports are built around their issues, literally ignoring or downplaying the rest of the industries problems. I have friends with both good and bad examples of this company, mostly good. Fox 4 where is your story on how the dealership model makes buying a car so difficult and painful? I guess your reporters like paying varying prices and random fees for a car, just because.
News is about what's new...and getting screwed at a traditional dealership isn't new. Not saying they still shouldn't run such a story, though, I'm always happy to see stories that expose the crap dealerships pull.

Sounds like a DMV issue, being most financed cars have a digital title and even if they sent you a paper title it would have a lien on it anyway
Hopefully you didn’t return it …

It shouldn’t be that hard to be plain honest and to do one’s job properly, regardless of how the car is sold.😐
Carvana: Here's your car!
Customer: Where's the title?
Carvana: No. We don't ask those type o' questions round chea.
Get those newly homeless to look at remoteok to see if there's openings. Nobody should be jobless or homeless at the whims of another.
Sold to mom? But you hate your mom!
And upon taking delivery the car came with countless issues, their car fax stated no accidents but there were misaligned panels, missing bumper bolts and poorly color matched repainted panels, broken trunk struts, don’t know how it passed inspections honestly
god tried to gave you a warning lmao
That’s horrible, tbh that’s why you should always get your own car fax.. at least buy the $10 car fax anyway.. my experience was actually really good.. I bought a Mazda 3 but I ordered it where I could go pick it up near me and it didn’t have to be shipped.. possibly why I had a better experience
Even if you got your own car fax it wouldn't necessarily list all accidents. Some are not recorded due to low damage. Often if the car didn't get fixed through insurance, repairs and damage won't show up on car fax.

This company tried to pull a classic “bait and switch” on me over a year ago. Fortunately, I caught it before they shipped the car. Horrible company.
Me 2
Howso? Did you not get the car you ordered?
Oh well
Some have power of attorney for the transfer
It really isn’t that difficult. Don’t list the car for sale until you have the title in hand. Problem solved. I used to work for Carmax and that was our policy. We either had to have a tracking number for the envelope on its way with the title inside OR we had to be holding the title. And we have power of attorneys for both the seller and the buyer signed in case there is an issue.
You can sign paperwork online, I gotten my new registration that way.
@@gilberttorres8 Did you receive your tag as well as your registration in the mail? And did you ever get a tracking number?
@@OwlKnight32 not but I got my title and eventually my new plates.

They sent me back and forth until I threatened to sue them then they payed to get it fixed.

at least they avoided this
Yes I can vouch for him, sold cars at carmax for a while.

Every listing has the Carfax already.
We recently sold my son's car to Carvana and to their credit they offered well above what local dealers offered us and made the transfer pretty painless. We never bought a car from them, but at least as sellers, we were very pleased.

Because used cars are in short supply! They were desperate!
"To their credit"??? Nope. That's just so they can sell to some sucker for more than it's worth. That's why they don't care about overpaying
Honestly thought about buying off there but looking into it definitely got me to think again. Good thing I did !!!
The fact that they advertise as "car vending machines", doesn't add to their credibility.

Caravana as a Ponzi scheme
No questions asked, all online, and will bring it to you. That’s every red flag in the book my guy 😂👍
I live in Maryland where dealerships have to give you the title even if you're paying a loan on it and I brought my car from carvana I got my title 8 months later. They also did a registration for me which didn't take that long to come in along with my license plates.
When I first saw them advertising, I never thought they would last. It always seemed too simple, too good to be true. Looks like my gut was right.
Okay, so what does Carvana gain by delaying issuance of the title? Or is it just a back-office clerical processing problem?
Agreed!
News is about what's new...and getting screwed at a traditional dealership isn't new. Not saying they still shouldn't run such a story, though, I'm always happy to see stories that expose the crap dealerships pull.
Rule #1 Never buy a used car without having it inspected.
Nothing to do with the title.
@@Placeitinmybox1 Consider yourself lucky if it is a title issue. Potential issues could be hiding underneath the body paint. Carfax will not tell you everything with the car.
