- The News4JAX I-TEAM has been investigating Carvana, a company that promises “peace of mind” when you buy a car from them. But some local customers told us they’ve had no peace for months - accusing Carvana of failing to follow the Florida law and leaving them unable to get their titles and tags.
WOW! Thank You So Much for sharing this! I live in Illinois and occasionally see a Carvana ad come up in my searches. Now that you have been kind enough to share this, I wouldn't touch a car from them with a ten foot pole.
Same here. That ads show up when I search for used car. I just ignore it because I want to test drive the car before I buy
They need to start throwing the CEO of carvana in a jail cell
They need to lock him up on top floor of the car vending machine where everybody can see him !

Buying a car, untested, out of state... What could go wrong?😁
Sight unseen, things I was warned about when I was young to never do.
You have to be flat out stupid to buy a car sight unseen, without title in hand.
There are so many stupid people. Like they say there’s an app for that.
They are scamming people 🗣🗣🗣
People are working so hard to purchase a vehicle for them to turn around & do this! Guys DON’T PURCHASE your cars ONLINE, instead get out the house & go purchase a vehicle!
UNbelievable
Who would have thought buying a car from a giant vending machine would be a problem
It took 6months and 2temp tags none ever from my Home state before my car was finally registered. And I ended up having to pay for my VIN inspection something they were supposed to pay for
Carvana is breaking so many DMV compliance laws here, it's disgusting! I don't understand why they're not being held more accountable? Ironically, a Carvana commercial just played as I pulled up this video! LMAO!
Carvana is a dying business so obviously their gonna go bankrupt very soon..
Shame, it was a good idea, but it's run by a crook.
I used to work for this company and let me tell you....the employees and management is horrible they don't train you like they should and they don't give you the proper tools. Many coworkers didn't even know what they were doing. This company is a huge scam. Don't do business with them...unless you want to loose money or buy a car that was stolen
Carvana will lose their dealer license soon...
I don't know what people in Florida talking about my daughter bought one from carvana and everything was a piece of cake I know several owners that bought them cash out that never had any problems with carvana with paperwork or otherwise
Im in Arizona and im still waiting for my tags.
How do these companies get business licenses...??????
bribes lol
bribing government regulators, sweet talking them basically
i had a similar issue with Carvana regarding my tags. it took MONTHS to get my permanent plates. i am in Florida and they gave me three temporary tags registered in Alabama, i finally got my issues resolved, and i’m actually really surprised that i wasnt the only person who had this issue
I sold one of my vehicles to Carvana, and the process was fairly easy. They even paid off the loan in a timely manner (in my case, anyway). However, I would NEVER buy from them. When I went to trade mine in, they didn't even test drive it ... they just turned it on, made sure the mileage was correct, and away I went.
Maybe ur car looked perfect tho?
@@goldbrick2563 I mean a car can look perfect but also have no drive train
@@yumcherubicplum_5535 not really, you'd see it was missing like a human eyeball from its socket, u wldnt look perfect. A drivetrain is not actually a solitary part of your car - it's a group of drivetrain parts that collaborate with the engine to move the wheels and various parts of the car to drive it into motion. These parts usually include the transmission, differential, driveshaft, axles, CV joints, and the wheels.
Stop buying buying cars 🚗 from these Crooks. They didn't even address the issues in their statement
I'm 20yr in the car business and retired from it: 98% of the issues guaranteed is because Carvana is buying cars via auction or trades and it's selling them back to the public without having a title or release of lien from the previous lien holder if trades or purchases are not paid off in a timely manner or if you don't get a lien release in time this will cause a big issue and car cannot be retailed until title and lien is released from lienholder looks like Carvana rather sell the car without the lien clearing prior to retailing it. So that will put the customer in a bad position but by that time Carvana already cashed your money and or contract from lender Dealers have an obligation to process all title within 30-45 days max the lender can actually request the transaction be refunded to them if this is not done and if the new lender is not registered as the lienholder.
100% Correct!
100%
Yep 👍 I also believe it’s the floorplan from ally finance that ties up the title until the unit is paid prior to sell.
Why doesnt carvana just wait until the title is clear after buying + then sell it? Why are they skipping that step? I dont get it
@@goldbrick2563 That’s what they’re supposed to do. It’s the law!
I knew this company was going to be a problem. I didn't know exactly why or what was going to happen but I knew things were going to go wrong.
Cause it always sounded too good to be true lol
Buying a car on the Internet
😂😂😂😁😁😁
Carvana sold my wife a car that had been completely flooded….I mean to the point where there was sand behind the headlights and water pooled under the carpeting. We live in northern WV and had to make calls for months to even get the refund process started. They are crooks…
Whoa!
You have or had 7 days you didn’t notice the sand 🤦🏽♂️
Imagine being dumb enough to buy a car from a vending machine.
Why would any one buy a car this way?
Try this folks: No Title, No Sale!
It should be common sense, you don't pay until you have the title, no amount of promises can fulfill this requirement.
I didn't get a run around but it took about three months to get my real plates
The problem seems to be out of state sales. If you bring a vehicle into Florida and apply for a Florida title, you may have problems with the sellers out of state title. They should tell you this.
Only in Florida!
It's about money!! Greedy people's!! Never buy a car online!!!
Another corrupt company
Jeep been much Bad
Carvana=carunna
Sue Carvana under DTPA.
Are they losing the sale paperwork, or the actual titles? If they are losing the actual titles. That means a replacement title is issued. In NV and WI and a few more states. If you have a replacement title, and someone at any time shows up with the original title. They can lay claim to a vehicle. Meaning you can lose your car to someone else.
Beautiful ☺
Sold stolen vehicles?
I see Tom Wills is still doing the news in Jacksonville. I'm from Brunswick, so I used to see him when I was growing up.
Stop fining them and start imprisoning them and the customer should get the car for free if they screw up like this. I've never trusted them and I do believe that some of those cars have been stolen and numbers changed. Of course that's an opinion but it's what keeps me from ever buying a car from them.
This isn't surprising. The guy who started it is a known scam artist.
They have no problem taking to, and taking money from local people on the local level. 🤔
That is an easy class action lawsuit worth at least a million dollars meaning the women who was issued to Florida temporary tags will probably win about $30,000, as lead plaintiff, in Damages everybody else will probably get about $20 and of course the lawyer will make about $300,000
Toast ‘em.
'
look this ugly ugly blue car at 104 - 114...
'
not safety many vehicles parking lot in the tower buildding...
tower buildding can be collapse or shut down
That’s why you don’t buy your car from anybody .. carvana is giving me very cheap & scandalous vibes!
sounds like something tRUMP would do
An then pay a settlement, and say 100% best service, brought everyone I know a car from there.
