      it sounds like every other turbo LS engine. Nothing special there. if you must hear it though, there's videos of it on LMR's youtube page.

    Why a carb style intake manifold? Does it spread the in coming air to each cylinder better then the front mounted throttle body IM? That would be my guess. I really like that hood and the color.

    • @94XJ
      @94XJ 10 років тому +61

      1656 whp, 200 shot of nitrous, that's a solid 2300+hp at the crank...I think that's plenty to earn the title of 2000hp car.

    • @2008YamahaRaptor700R
      @2008YamahaRaptor700R 9 років тому +10

      When they say 2,000hp I'm guessing they mean at the crank. All cars lose horsepower from the crank to the rear wheels

      Uhhhhh, Nothing makes me laugh more than people who claim to be car guys, look at car videos, talk about cars, but know nothing about cars. THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE SHIT.... When they refer to 2000hp, They are talking about Crank HP, Same number that manufactures use when marketing cars. That is not RWHP "Rear Wheel Horsepower"... Rear wheel hp is always less because of parasitic loss, Parasitic loss is the horsepower that is lost through the transmission and differential, Basically it takes power to put the power to the ground. Manual transmissions use less at about a 15-17% loss factor from what the engine horsepower is. Auto transmissions use about 20% and even more depending on the size of the converter ect. the higher you get into Horsepower like some of these 4 figure cars "1000+hp" the larger hp deficit you see between the motor and wheels.
      Example, Take a C6 Z06 for example, It makes 505hp and the motor, But with that parasitic loss factor, They make about 440 RWHP on the dyno, So thats about 65hp difference between the engine and wheels. A car that is making 2000hp is going to have a good 300+hp difference.... So yea, This car is making 1600+RWHP which translates to a 2000hp engine.... BOOOO YAAAHHHHH MOTHER FUCKER!!!!!

    The biggest advantage that Ford GT has it that its engine is in the back, helping those rear wheels with traction and even preventing loss of power down the drivetrain. They are working on a Saleen S7 in Russia, using an LS-Series V8 (Probably a 454ci LSX V8) pushing just over 2,000hp from a set of twin-turbochargers and not just to its rear wheels but all of them. It's a custom AWD TTV8 they have turned that S7 into.

    not only weight distribution is on its side- the GT has a super low drag cd. and frontal area comparable to that of the Supra. amazing aerodynamics as well as a wide powerband due to the relatively large displacement engine which helps unsure big hp/tq to keep pulling up top w/so much air resistance. traction, aero, and powerband is the recipe to success at the mile. old records were shattered because it could push and retain unheard of power outputs (esp. when comp w/ older record cars).

    If this is the most powerful American car you've ever watched on YT, check out Rod Saboury's '63 vette and Larry Larson's Nova, they're both 6 second street cars. There are also shops like Nelson Racing Engines, whom I think do the best street builds on earth. They posted a video of a twin turbo 572 cubic inch hemi that makes 2,500 hp and is 100% streetable. In the video, it made around 1,950 hp on only 22 psi, the engine was built for almost 40 psi.

    it's built solely for the Moscow Mile so you should see it there :} Total Race posted a start up video with a walk-around. the 4WD system wasn't yet in place, not sure if they'll actually do that. the engine seemed to idle surprisingly smooth for a race car, maybe it's the MASSIVE displacement. i think it may be a Modular engine, not sure though.

    I'd love to see you guys put this thing out on the Salt Flats at Bonneville. With that kind of power, drag would not be the main enemy, gearing and tire parameters would be. Surely it could top 260+ theoretically. Of course aerodynamic drag going from 200 to 250 is exponentially higher than from 150 to 200 and backwards from there, but this thing should break that wide open.

    it was yanked after Jamie brake boosted in 2nd ripping off the tires, it got slightly sideways in 3rd like it always does on oily highways in somewhat cold weather, but the busa was long gone. and btw it was a 295whp busa (straight from the owner). still impressive though, but even 410 whp busa's are slightly behind TTG's with boost by gear as proven in the runs with Tim Iacolli vs Shamrock Racing.
