Remember Rhyl, back in the 60s and 70s, you always had fantastic day, when i was a kid, still have a drive up to the coast now and then, thanks for the footage.
Used to go to Rhyl every year for holidays as a kid in the 70s / 80s. Stayed in a hotel on Edward Henry St, top of the street was Black Cat Amusements (Mini Golf) in the video, crossed the road to the paddling pool with a fountain in the middle. Happy Days.
@@outandaboutwithus oh I don't know, don't think the paddle boats, cycle track, trampolines or crown green bowling will make a come back these days. Although there was a open area where bands used to play near the clock so maybe a music venue.
Loooove Treaddur bay it's beautiful there. We do go further a field, just Spud runs a cleaning business and deals with the caravans so this time of year it's hard to get a day off to travel that bit further 😀
@@outandaboutwithus oh the Morrisons car park at Holyhead ,Treaddur bay, Holyhead Marina and the free parking on the front… With the long days we made it there and back in one day…over 300 miles round trip..
Thank you so much as have not been to wales for a long time. Rahul has changed quite a lot over the years. Have great memories of town and not forgetting Talacre. Had a great chippy and the smugglers in pub. Really miss talacre and the grabbing machines in town 😊
Please share any favourite memories as we will be doing a nostalgic tour of the town at some point. Lots of people with fond memories. We will be doing a Talacre vlog in the very near future 😀 if you haven't already please consider subscribing as lots of content to come 😊
6.57+...that was the old co-op place where people went with their stamp books from the shop to swap for prizes etc etc..............brings back memories...😀😀😀
It was at the end of June on a Sunday at around 3pm. It has been an unbelievably quiet season unfortunately this year. Not sure where everyone is. Rhyl has so much potential and still holds it retro holiday feel that hopefully people still appreciate 🙏
There is still plenty of reasons to visit, the beach is huge, beautiful sunsets, the harbour area. Cheeky donuts, a bag of chips and hit the 2p machines. It needs investment just like most places but sometimes appreciating the simple things is to easy and you can miss out ☺️
@outandaboutwithus I have not been back since, I hope to return though I lived on the old pines caravan holiday park. It was mostly the flood victims living there, 88. I got to know lots of friendly people, I honestly wish I had never left, I landed there as homeless , but managed to get on my feet, got work, had prospects, I later had to travel back across the border, where to this day , I remain Happy days, happy memories
@patrickdoyle-v4h glad to here all has come good for you, we are trying to help raise awareness and bring back some love with the locals , hopefully if we try to help ourselves it will also attract investment and opportunities, bring new life (hopefully keep the old seaside charm)
Love a good parking tip thanks 😊 we will do a vlog walk from the miniature railway to the harbour and down to Asda. May even take it as far as pensarn on the bikes though I'm not sure the microphone will cope with a push bike 😀
We live in Rhyl and I had no idea the noodle bar was on the High St! How long has that been there 😅 Great vids by the way, glad I found your channel, new subscriber right here 👍🏼
It looked busy to, they opened the field where the circus goes for the over spill of touring caravans. Will vlog it next year ! Love a Spoons breakie though 😋
Yeah we got told it was Rhuddfest but they have only just left. Apparently it was a Christian meet but there were alot of travellers there and there was a bit of upset caused in the area
@Ndev725 love your passion for Rhyl, it needs more people to feel the same and put some effort on making improvements to their property to make places a bit more visually appealing. Rhyl has some amazing places there 😊
@@outandaboutwithus I’m not a native from Rhyl. I’ve been here 10 years but if people keep putting it down do you think the council or government will invest. No they will continue to send down and outs from strange ways. We need to start changing our ways before this town is on its knees and no one will come
@Ndev725 very well said. Exactly 💯. Completely agree which is one reason we try to make vlogs with a very positive feeling to the area. People who live here can't depend on the council to fix it entirely though which was our point, if you own a shop keep the pavement and shop frontage clean and tidy as if every one dis it would look immensely tidier. And residents/ holiday makers instead of walking past rubbish and complaining, pick it up and pop in the bin and lead by example 😊
What were you expecting to see 🤣😂 it literally says what it is in the title. Feel happy to scroll on to someone else's vids lol we all have our own way of doing things, if it's not your taste don't stress yourself enough tell us, it's all good have a great weekend 😀
I was talking about the Sc2 (the sun centre 2) that was built to replace it as its been closed for months. This is a recent vlog just used to saying the sun centre (which was miles better than what they have replaced it with)

Thinking back to what was popular back then, what do you think the now closed sea aquarium would be good to see in its place?

Just been today. Love it .Best fish n chips ever.
Les & Rita's is hard to beat, is that where you went? Good old fashion chippy. Glad you enjoyed. Did you manage to dodge the rain 🌧
@@outandaboutwithus Des & Rita's is my favourite 😊
100% agree 👍 well priced, nice size portion, not stingy on salt and vinegar, hot n fresh 👌
What time was that? When you were walking round? peak holiday season now? no people more people in winter .

rhyl closed down years ago,it,s not a resort anymore,it,s just a 99p town.....................
There is still plenty of reasons to visit, the beach is huge, beautiful sunsets, the harbour area. Cheeky donuts, a bag of chips and hit the 2p machines.
It needs investment just like most places but sometimes appreciating the simple things is to easy and you can miss out ☺️
the town has no soul,it,s empty and barren.bleaksville..............
@Michael-bk1ux as I say investment is needed buts much better than some of the cities and towns we visit
Lived in rhyl back in the 80,s, worked at carsearch2000, loved the place
Do you ever return for holidays/day trips?

@petersimpson7037 the harbour is lovely especially at night when it's lit up
Great for footage shame its a nice town and little harbour area

Thankyou very much. My time scale is usually a bit off lol so if I say a few months it's quite possibly 6months to a year 😅
Great video keep up with the good work 😎😊
Thank you very much. We are going to do an update on prestatyn and the pontins whilst there this week. Hope your well 😊
@@outandaboutwithus ok sounds good I look forward to seeing the video 😊
It needs a Pier..
Agreed Piers are iconic for a proper British seaside holiday 😊
Ffs, I didn't know Rhuddfest was on, popped to Rhyl Spoons for breakfast and been bored all day 😭
It looked busy to, they opened the field where the circus goes for the over spill of touring caravans. Will vlog it next year ! Love a Spoons breakie though 😋
I believe the circus field was a travellers meet, not overspill for rhuddfest

You are not coming in the back way you are on the main road
I always class the coast road as the main Rd 😊

Rhyl has been closed for a few years, dont waste your time. It is rundown and badly in need of some government cash to bring it back to life.
Needs holiday makers and the people who live there to take care of their property
Rhyl is not closed and has had good money put in this direction. If you don’t like it sod off. It’s better than some towns in Manchester.
