    That's a very interesting concept. You essentially compromise the top and bottom of the spine and then go for the arm.

    Jimmy Pedro taught me this. It's used as a pin/osaekomi in judo, and you use the panic of your opponent being pinned to finish the arm bar.

    It's much easier and more fluid to grab the tricep that the arm to be barred is bracing on, and the wrist of the arm to be barred. All you need to do at that point is push them together and flex your hips before leaning backwards.

  • @wesleychan592
    @wesleychan592 7 років тому

    This is an awesome concept! It's kinda like going from armbar position to the S-mount position to readjust.
    How do you stop him from turning into you at 2:38 when you move your right leg off his face? His hips and lower body are already turned towards you so wouldn't his upper body naturally follow?

    • @demianthebackpackmaia435

    • @PessimiStick
      @PessimiStick 7 років тому

      When you take the foot off to come up, you engage your hips into the back of their tricep/shoulder. It's basically impossible for them to turn into you unless you're being sloppy and leaving tons of space.

      or are they really already in one? Like if i started a "brazillian" cooking school, featuring dishes like sushi, katsu don, udon, tempura , etc? Dont get me wrong this guy could probably kick my ass, he has a LOT of skill, and im over the hill with injuries, and even in my prime i was never this good, but I still dont see how "BJJ" managed to pull off the greatest re-branding in history
      Sign up to my brazillian cooking school anybody? I just invented it....its a new style with new techniques...

    • @paraicmcdonagh6062

      Patrick Bateman Exactly, Except that it's not exactly a rip off of Judo because it's really an interpretation of Judo by someone who wasn't qualified to teach it (circus performers). So it's like Brazilian Sushi class but we will be cooking the fish and wrapping it in mashed potato and rolling it in a leaf, because then it will look like that thing that we saw the Japanese guy do.

      Kevin B No it wasn't. Judo is a child of Jujitsu. 'Juijutsu' is something invented to look like Judo and to sound like Jujitsu but notice it's spelled incorrectly. The Gracie's aren't honest people, which is why it's such a headache to appreciate. But as a rule of thumb. Japanese - credible. Brazilian - Not credible.
