I haven't been triangled since I watched this about 6 months ago. Thank you!
I havent been tapped in a year
But thats cuz i dont get to train :(
The dummy doesnt put up much of a fight
The only high level guy who consistently shows all of their dirty little secrets
Like hey numb nuts this is how you beat me
Who does this?
Keenan Kai does
Marcelo Garcia has been showing his entire game on MGINACTION since 2011 lol
honestly if it's perfectly executed technique a lot of times even if you know it's coming you won't be able to stuff it. A simple trap and roll if executed perfectly is basically impossibe to stop after it develops to a certain point
@@OdinsHallsBrazilianJiuJitsu this is true, but keenan is awesome it just adds.
The best instructors are the ones that pass on their knowledge. Good job young man!
Im a gracie white belt with one stripe and I was able to escape from a triangle attempt from a blue belt rolling today from simply watching your video! Thanks so much Keenan!
Going on 9 months of purposely putting myself in triangles and haven't been finished yet with this. Now I purposely bait the triangle to escape closed guard. I've managed to choke a few people as well who refused to let me spin or let go of the triangle. Officially called the Keenan Escape ;)
Purposely bait triangles to escape closed guard... there's a sentence I never thought I'd see 😂
50 now been around, doing jits since i was in my 30's, this young dude is something special.
Yo thanks for the post keenan, blue belt training under Lucas leite. Tried this with all the upper belts from Brazil that are getting ready for pan ams. Had them all tripping because they couldn't get the armbar and couldn't lock up triangle. Appreciate the post oss!
more detailed boston crab video plz
That's pretty much all the details you need lol hook both legs, step over and sit on it.
Well really isnt much detail to it, that was pretty much it. You can get into it by tackling opponent, scooping behind both knees or ankles. Key is to get your ridgehands into back of his achilles. Pull up and arch yor back and his too actually. Then turn him over by stepping over him. Pull up on his legs, put one knee into small of back. CAUTION!! CAN BREAK BACK CAUSING PARALYSIS OR DEATH!!!!
Thank you SO MUCH for helping us with our Jiu Jitsu! You are an amazing teacher and visionary grappler. I learn so much from watching you roll and listening to your explanations.
I watched and learned this two nights ago, and used it twice tonight in sparring. Thank you, brother - worked exactly as you said!
This magic works thanks keenan! Your videos are helping get to purple belt and I've been stuck in blue for six years due to injuries and frail body from overuse in the sport that im a black belt so to speak which is gymnastics like breakdance i competed in the worlds. My neck is very taught and after using any triangle escape I'd need atleast a week off jits from spasms in the neck area post triangle defense. I have started to be stubborn about this purple and took responsibility to teach myself= 99% bullshit videos online made me worse. Found yours= 2 weeks of drilling this escape my black belt friend can't triangle me anymore and my neck does not seize up or take strain in the traps and attachments. I want to deeply thank you and tell everyone that it seems to me your methods are cutting edge genius, hacks to being stuck in jits blues. God bless, hope to meet you in future 🙏
6 years of training and I've only just now found your page?! lol *subscribed* Your stuff is gold, Keenan. Thanks!
Keenan is an absolute of greatness : Humble, Cool, Super Technical, lots of victories, lot of share,
Thank you Keenan, you are showing the path.
this technique is nuts amazing.. and you created this at 16?! what are you a freakin' genius Kenaan? Thanks for sharing this little gem
This is absolute gold! Watched this months ago and immediately was getting out of triangles. Even a lanky/tall person with proper legs couldn't get it. Love it, thank you so much!
A variation to my favorite triangle escape, with some phenomenal details. Thanks for sharing, this is a game changer for me!
Used it last night rolling...absolutely worked like a charm. Completely eliminated his reach and defended against it. Thank you!
This definitely works got me out of a fully locked triangle today. The guy that I was rolling with was just confused. Thank you for the escape very useful.
Fantastic! Thank you for taking the time to show this.
I have recently started BJJ at 61yrs and I can tell you this has been the most informative video to stop the triangle. It really works!! I feel I am somewhat (more) competitive when rolling against others in the club. Great sport wish I took it up as a teenager. Derrick Hodgson NZ
I’ve been looking for an effective triangle escape. I tried what I saw in some other videos and still found myself getting choked or arm barred because I was posturing or staying centered. I tried this tonight, and it worked perfectly. I did lean to the one side to to relieve pressure, and he wasn’t able to reach my head. Before I even completed the turn, he gave up on the triangle. I’m a blue belt with one stripe. My partner tonight has three stripes on a white. Thanks for the great video.
I pulled-off this counter, today. I literally only watched the video the night before and it worked for me. THANKS.
keenan feels like that one coach you feel comfortable with all the time and can joke around and be fun with
Kneenan can you upload more no gi versions too tho? here and on your online school .
When Keenan speaks it works, it works.
4 stripe white belt here. Will definitely try this since triangle lock is the favorite submission of every brown belt where I train. Thank you professor!
Beautiful, Keenan. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
YAY! I finally subscribed! Thank u so much for this!👌 I am a grey belt (kids) and my friend always triangles me and he's really good at them! Next class is tomorrow so I will try to use this!😁 oss
Thank you. I deliberately put myself into the triangle tonight and ended up in some failed attempts to escape. Working on this escape in my next class. Appreciate your insight.
Hell yeah! I did that escape on my instructor! He was surprised and pissed off at the same time 😂
I remember trying it on my instructor and he told me to take my arm out and paused lol :(
I just saw a high-level, competitive BJJ black belt demonstrate the Boston Crab. My life is now complete.
Here's 3 more options if this doesn't work out as planned ua-cam.com/video/FTxQtsqKSb8/v-deo.html
Interested to try this one out though 🤙
Thank you BJJ expert Keenan Cornelius. I definitely trust you and your moves. Thank you for sharing!
Nice technical grappling! Devil is in the details. I'm sure guys have been armlocked while perfecting this
Thankyou brother. I’ve modified it a bit but I haven’t been triangled since I found this video 3.5 years ago 💪🏾
Thanks to guys like you this sport grows.
Love this out of the box thinking. I bet that's how bjj was born. Will definitely be giving this move a try. Subscribed.
When the guy is a beast he is not afraid of showing his best moves.... tonight Im going to get into a few triangles and practice it.
Saulo Ribeiro teaches a similar technique. I have been doing it for a while , tapped a few times to the triangle but never got into an arm bar. This side collapse bit is gold.
Wish I saw this before Sunday's class. Blue belt got me in a triangle choke hold and my throat still hurts. Subscribed
Gosh, I think many friends from my school are watching your videos, I could not finalized one guy last week, he defended like you said!
If Keenan says it works... it works darn it!
Gotta remember this, everybody's different. He's a amazing grappler and gotta give me that.
I am a white belt in UK, and get pulled into tri angle quite a bit, been using this week and it's been a life saver.
Kernans prologue
"You WILL get armbarred, IF you do it wrong"
You are a true professor!!! Hi from Athens, Greece.
Keenan is re-inventing Jiu Jitsu!
Amazing! Thank you for these bjj cheat codes! Subscribed
Thank you for revealing this ingenious move Sir!
Thanks brother, got caught today with a really tight triangle. This looks like gold.
Went to open mat today, set up two guys that normally would lock a triangle. Instead I passed and got the sub!!! Thanks for all your help!!
Thank you!! I'm trying this, don't know when, but I will.
I've been doing a Catch wrestling variation of this for years now, works almost every time. PS. It's is one of the only few legitimately ways to enter Boston Crab.
Thanks Keenan. Looking to try this.
Im glad were not the only school thats has fun. Brilliant video
Tested and proven! My son could not escape the triangle and would just try to survive it until this video. He has now escaped triangles from top youth competitors. This defense is golden!
Really nice can't wait to try it!
This is amazing, got caught in a triangle by both my coach and a juvenile blue who are triangle machines, and this defense absolutely shut down the submission!
This is actually amazing and works with SO much success that I'm actually feel comfortable being in a triangle 😂.
Thanks for the great lesson! Cheers from Brazil
Thank you Keenan.
Good move, I totally get it, I have a similar move for other techniques.
Keenan Cornelius the armbar is always there. This is the way
I gotta say, out of all of the triangle escapes I have seen, this one is by far the most effective and I use it all the time. I RARELY get eat a triangle these days. This defense is so obscure, few have an answer, but there is one in no gi.
I did this today. Thanks Keenan.
I am convinced, as you show, there is no opportunity for an armbar submission to counter this escape. although I do believe your lapel grip could be broken be power-locking under your arm and hyperextending the elbow joint as you begin to turn which would force you to release your grip.
One of my teachers was showing me this today and I was wondering where he learned it now I know
I've been doing this escape for some time and its really the best, but I didnt know that collar lock hehe
thanks kinan ;D
Seems good. I'm trying this tomorrow.
I can't wait to try this next week in class 🥰
I’ve tried this many times, it works against most people at my level. Although when I try it with upper belts (brown/black and even some purple) they tend to catch me with straight arm locks (reversed armbar) as soon as I extend my arm towards their neck/shoulder. It really doesn’t work unless I extend my arm, but now I’m too afraid getting caught to even attempt it against more skilled players.
Thank you very much for sharing. Much appreciated.
I respect you so much for sharing this.
Thanks Keenan
ima try this out. thanks keenan
I've managed to apply this defence on a 5th degree black belt today and it worked.
Great execution of The BOSTON CRAB!!!
I tried this move yesterday in training, it works
this worked wonders today! thanks!
I'm only a white belt, but I've now successfully executed this escape against white, blue, and purple belts without getting arm barred. It's so good vs. people my own skill level I'm half tempted to let them triangle me so I can get an easy pass. I tried it against a guy 50 lbs heavier (and 20 years younger) than me with really long legs, he couldn't choke me with the triangle but I couldn't generate enough torque to get out of the triangle. Still better than what he usually does to me in that position. In addition, I've found that the grip Keenan describes is a very strong defensive grip if you just want to chill and catch a breather in somebody's guard. I've grabbed that loop with both hands and have found it to be a very strong defensive position.
Going to work on this professor, osss thank you 🙏😔
Thank you so much for sharing!
Pretty nifty move. Good thinking and innovation
Cool stuff, thank you very much for sharing this! A question: can you tap someone under IBJJF rules with Boston Crab? I guess it's categorized as a spine crank?
A scholar and a gentleman
Keenan's ears show that he has been through battles.
Thanks for sharing oss!
Did it!!! It worked!!! Did just once, for the first time, two days ago in class and it got me a lecture from the person about "you are giving your arm, blah, blah, blah", she's the same rank as me, and I didn't want to explain (no talking while rolling, which would have earn me a scolding) I said I was protecting my head, but it did work! I will try it some more, I don't have have long arms and I'm smaller than the guys, so I'll see how it goes
Boston Crab reference. Fantastic
Just subbed... Great video.. Yup... I've seen this done on a police officer... From a Paratrooper... The key as you said... Keep low on the twist turn...
It worked for me. Did it twice defending against a purple belt and once against a black belt. Though with the black belt I almost passed out BUT he released and went for the armbar which wasn't there so I got out of that one as well.
love this! subbed
Very cool!!! Thanks for sharing!
Two month white belt here, Thank you 🖖🏼
WORKS!!!!! Details for No Gi option?? Fantastic technique Keenan, Thanks. What's the no gi version?
What about grabbing the very bottom of the lapale where your making the grip I wonder if it would still stay bunched up for that solid of a grip.
great tip! thanks for sharing :)
Tried it this morning. Works well
