I like marques honesty how he’s overwhelmed with shooting the videos.
What I immediately loved about Doug’s videos was his no nonsense approach. The editing looked like he used Windows Movie Maker or some free application because it had no frills. When he got an intro clip I was pretty certain someone just created him one for free. I laugh at his intro text because it couldn’t be more basic and less pleasing to the eye. But I watch him almost daily. Sometimes it’s just to put me to sleep at night, ha!
Man, 2 of my favorite and most inspirational UA-camrs together. Glad I found this.

I can't remember the last time I read a physical copy of _Motor Trend_ Magazine. If I want to learn about a vehicle, my first stop is UA-cam, and my second stop is BBC _TopGear_

No one watches Doug's driving segment because it's a low quality close up of his face.... Not the actual drive.
A simple change of angle would do wonders, I think.

Conversely, I watch them because it shows his reactions to the drive. I learn nothing about the driving feel of a car from a hood shot of 50 mph down a forest road. Watching Doug's eye squint as he waits through an unexpected turbo lag or an O-face at surprising acceleration onto the highway? That tells me something. I think his driving videos are some of the most helpful.

I also shoot all my videos on my android phone, i can relate with what he is sharing.
I also edit all my videos by myself, and i enjoy that. I do everything by myself, you know!

I can't believe this is my first time being the 1000th like😂
Seeing that this videos max resolution just scared me a bit ngl :D I discovered the clips a couple days ago - and they are awesome!
But I just saw a couple videos where the max resolution was 1080p and thought "Hmmm... that's strange I really thought they would be in 4K"
When I clicked on this clip I thought "WHAT ONLY 1080p AGAIN?" and was worried that chrome just broke or sth :D
Then I checked on one of my own videos and saw that everything was working properly :D
It's probably due to UA-cam still processing or sth - but it had me scared for a second not gonna lie! :D

In a lot of his videos the dynamic range just sucks. I am no video pro and I noticed that with no reflections or prompting.
