I am 6ft 1 270 lb and this thing gets me all around the property
Great info, thank you
Thanks for commenting this I was worried it would tow me around Because I’m 280 and it says the weight limit is 200
@Cripple guy let me tell u, It hauls Ass
@@DansHealthyVlog do I really have to put ethanol gas or is it just
@Cripple guy total mechanical noob here. always wanted a small motor vehicle that went about 20-25 mph and want to order this. how bad" for the engine is it to loosen the gov screw? if i'm just looking to max out at about 25 mph for a 190 LB rider.. would loosening the gov screw do that? thanks
I work at Wal-Mart and ordered my BT200X through them. They had it on sale for $498 and I get a 10% discount. Using site to store, I ended up paying a total of $472 for mine.
You are so lucky!
@@DansHealthyVlog If you haven't done it yet, pull the plastic intake off and cut the stud of the throttle restrictor screw off. It is supposed to be adjustable but it comes tack welded. You will gain 4 to 5 more mph top speed. I plan on taking out the governor as well. If you do that, you will need to order some 18 pound valve springs to compensate for the extra rpm.
I intend to do a full upgrade in the summer.
@@Grey_Beard72 Wait where is the "plastic intake"? And about the welded screw is it the one that stops the throttle from moving further?
@@rdmrdm25 I put a stage 1 kit on mine. The plastic intake is in the corner of my garage, in a box. Yeah, the welded screw is the throttle restrictor screw.
I like the beefy frame, I don't like the lack of a rear suspension, particularly for an adult. Handy tip, always wipe the dipstick off when checking the oil on any engine, sometimes capillary action will cause the oil to crawl up the dipstick and make it look like the engine has more oil than it really does. I had gotten in the bad habit of not wiping the dipstick off on aircraft engines, one day I wondered if that was accurate and checked it without wiping the dipstick, it showed the oil level as full, then wiped it and checked it again, this time it was a quart low, so I learned an important lesson that day.
I get what your saying about rear suspension BUT if that is the case, then the feel of the minibike would be lost. Minibikes are for slow trail rides with under inflated wide tires. The tire is the suspension but the lack of suspension makes going slow feel fast.
be easy enough to add some springs to the seat
The original had zero suspension. So some is better than none in my book.
I bought a different Coleman model recently but really like this one too. That color combo and frame design is awesome. Very nice! 👍
Some good tips here. Thank you.
Perfect review. Ordering now. Thank you sir!
I like how well you care for this. Thanks for the video!
I enjoyed this video! I’m considering purchasing the BT200X for myself, and this information is great. I’m more accustomed to indoor hobbies such as model trains, art work, audiobooks, and movies. This seems like a great outdoor activity to get me out of the house more. I live in the mountains of Durango, CO, so I can find plenty of fun places to ride.
60 tooth rear sprocket was the Best mod I ever got. If you just want to offroad, have amazing torque thats the one. I did 18 pound valve springs, intake, exhaust, racing sparkplug and upgraded fuel lines and fuel filter and an rk racing chain and removed the governor gear inside the engine the correct way and then after all that the 60t rear sprocket (stock is 50 on coleman) made it do power wheelies and burnouts all day and it still has enough top speed for offroad at least 25 mph but it'll burn rubber getting there
I got my BT 200 a week ago. Took it camping over Memorial weekend. Runs like a top. The lack of a rear suspension is a pain in the a*!, but it is super fun to drive.
a popular fix for this ive seen around is to integrate springs in the seat, sort of like a mountain bike,
dude swear thats reeally bad
Good video for the new mini biker. He's so right about assuming its not put together correctly.
i bought the Coleman cc100x and i had no idea they had this BAD BOY!! BT200x Very Nice
The BT is discontinued but the 200 series is still being so
Going to buy one right now particularly after your video thanks man
Nice review Dan, very thorough. I just picked up two BT200X mini bikes from Big R, they were on sale for Black Friday. First thing I did was cut off the front fork turning stops. Otherwise they have the turning radius of a zeppelin. I then had to reposition the brake cables under the foot peg instead of on top, and better secure it to the frame. On one bike, the brake cable was conflicting with the front fender. On the other, the headlight cable was conflicting with the front fender so I repositioned all of them on both bikes. I also removed the throttle stop tab on both bikes. Gave me a tad more throttle. I had to reposition the brake handle and adjust the brake tension on both bikes. Later I will get the torque converter kits, exhaust pipe with muffler and air filter kits. I also want to reposition the foot pegs more forward somehow at some point. I wouldn't go as far as say the power is amazing however, I weigh 250 and this bike does real good carrying my chunky butt around, so it is certainly adequate. More horsepower down the road might be in the cards though.
U guys have a number
Need one so
I also use premixed 50:1 2 stroke for 1st tank only. For break in.
Nice bike I like it a lot . . . . I have the mega max 212cc had it for bout a month and I luv it best bike I have had so far
Just bought one I used to live in front of a nice field with some trails in the woods now that I moved I’m a 1 minutes walk from my local police station it’s a shame how strict they are hopefully I don’t have too many problems trying to get to the woods thx for this vid.
You're welcome buddy! Be safe and good luck
Fantastic review Sir!
Great video on this bike. I am getting a couple of them and will use this as a reference.
Right on!
Nice video I might get one soon and thanks for the tips Ill have to remember those
I bought mine last night at the local Walmart on clarence for 250.00
1 of 6 all were gone today haven't unboxed it yet maybe next weekend.
Congrats 🤟
Woah no way. Lol that’s a crazy good deal. I had to pay $600 for mine
Probably you got the 100cc model
They're worth every penny. I have a CT200 that has been put through its paces. Its done so many miles of hilly terrain with basically no maintenece, the only thing that needs done is the rear tire needs changed since i've worn it bald on DIRT. Bought mine used as well and i'm surprised at the quality for the price. They're really tanks and really reliable with the governor left alone, i'm looking at selling the two i have now to buy one of these. The front suspension seems well worth the extra bit of cash for this one over the ct though, it does get a little rough sometimes lol
you can add the front suspension onto your Ct200... i did to mine
i thought this thing had a centrifical clutch, which requires constant maintanance by forcing you to repeatedly lube the clutch, at least that was the case with my Monster Moto, became a bit of a hassle, eventually just learned to ride it without releasing the throttle while braking so no drop to idle and no stall lol
@@mythoti I also have a monster Moto 212. Never had an issue with my clutch at all. Idk why people do. Lube it with chain lubricant, not 10w30. I actually wore out the front sprocket and put a new one on the stock clutch. Probably over 1000 offroad miles. If you use chain lube or lithium grease, it lasts much longer in the clutch than motor oil. I actually prefer the centifugal clutch over a torque converter. It's been less maintenance for me over it's lifetime.
WalMart OUT OF STOCK, Amazon OUT OF STOCK, Coleman OUT OF STOCK...I just found one at Sportsman's Warehouse for $649.00...best price I could find....Ordered it an hour ago !

EXCELLENT video, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Great post. Looks fun to drive!
Very fun!!
I just bought mine from a grown adult who tweaked and peaked it to the hill lol I've never owned one stock but I just paid 600 bucks for mine it came with a predator 212 stage 2 and tav torque converter as well as twin bean from leds rear led ligh as well I love it idkwhat they do stock but mine has hit 40mph plus which is plenty fir me abd my kids we love it!
Great video! Good info.
Thank you
My tire pressure right out of the box was 30lbs front and 45lbs rear. The tire says 10lbs right on the side. Please check your air pressure before you ride.
Good video. I was just looking at one of these, on sale for a little bit off.
Sturdy looking, good tires. Other folks buy four-wheelers, but these look
good to me.
They are a lot of fun and last a long time
This vid rly helped me set up my bike and the bolt holding the front tire wasn’t even on it so u rly gotta check that if u get one
Glad to help buddy
Great info thanks.
I use the VP racing 4 stroke gas . It has a shelf life of 3 to 4 years and if your machine sits for awhile it doesn’t get the carb all gummed up .
“When I go out with my boys” fuck yes lol. Picking mine up today hope dem po po’s look the other way ;)
Brings back a lot of memories! Thanks for the great vid!
Sure does!
Do you have any idea we’re I can buy the front forks suspension for this mini bike or any same size mini bikes? I’ve been looking and Coleman wants about half the price as a new 200 BX at Walmart for 499.00. I already have 3 new mini bikes same size but none has telescopic suspension on them and my plan is to get the suspension and make a swing arm to mount rear shocks to on my mega moto MM212. I also have a Coleman CT200U with the racks but plan on leaving it as I bought it. Any idea’s would be great.
Hey Dan! I enjoy all your Channels! Could you do an update on this bike? I would like to purchase one and am doing my homework on them now! Thanks!
great video i have one to i like it
Heck ya!
Help I have one and when ever I start it I lift the rear and the wheel spins and when I ride it and I barely move the throttle it stays for like 2 seconds and the throttle goes all the way back but it does that
Sounds like you may need to lubricate the linkage on the carburator and make sure the return springs are properly connected.
Great call on changing the oil after a few rides! my oil looked like it had glitter in it with all the metal shavings..
I change the oil often in small engines like this when it is new. After the 3rd change, I will let it ride for a good 10 tanks of fuel ( 20-25 hours)
cheap machining, I drained the 1st oil on my honda push mower and it looked new, with no particles. Then again if honda made a minibike like this it would be $1200
@@matt4398 honda does make a mini bike. They have made it for decades. Its called the Honda Monkey.
@@matt4398 it's actually $4k!
Very helpful thanks
You’re welcome
I custom built my own frame and put a predator 212cc from harbor freight in it I bought for 150 bucks. I did however do a stage 2 upgrade to the engine, new rod, cam, springs, flywheel. And I'm rocking the juggernaut torque converter and a mikuni 22mm carb. I plan on taking it even further with a new crankshaft, piston, head, valves, rods and lifters. But I need to build a more stable frame before I go that far. Thing has alot of power.
I bet it does!!
For anyone looking to buy the BT200X Walmart has them priced at $550 in store and $499 online. I just bought one for $499 in a store Because I asked for online price matching. This is our second one. These things really are awesome! We’ve ridden them real hard already and there holding up great.
I really enjoy mine!!
Just got one of these for Christmas
You’re going to love it!
I have one and on my 3rd ride the brass bowl on the carburetor fell off. The screw came loose a it just fell off. Any suggestions to check anything else that might come loose.
I ordered a new carburetor on Amazon
I just pick 1 up from the store it has oil n it already should I drain it or keep it? And add 10w-40 synthetic or 10w-30 conventional it around 90-95 degrees n my state right now
Nice good video Thank you.
Thank you
great video and maintenance info; roughly what dose it do on miles per gallon?
The is a problem with my brothers he has broke three chain tensioners and we moved the engine all the way up and his chain keeps stretching and popping off
Where did you pick up that measuring funnel and hose from?
Bought a rolling frame for 80 and put a predator 212 and some upgrades. I’m in like 380 now.
Ha $600?! Now my local store is selling these for $869! In Dec when I bought my son one it was $735!
Great review now im buying it for myself then pass it to my son 😁😁
Check front wheel. On backwards. Tire valves should be on same side of bike.
Gov removed, stage one kit, oil change every 10hrs of riding 10w30 synthetic ( first oil change was an hour in then again another hour later just to get every little thing out ) got over 200 hours and she still starts with no issues!
Awesome!!
Nice video
The frame shape is similar to the Simplex Sportsman line of mini-bikes from the early 1960's except those had a metal gas tank at the top front of the frame; they were the best looking, actually looked like a small motorcycle.
Coleman CT 200 EX I believe has that tank that doubles as a tool box
The Baja and newer bikes have a plastic/fiberglass fake tank that doubles as a tool box, yes. The Simplex was all fuel tank, you could ride all day!
Oh I see! Wow!!
What is the name of the graduated oil funnel? I haven't seen one like it. Very useful.
They make a rack from Coleman for the BT200x bolts right on has a longer axle included.
Nice trip!
Thank you
Just got this for my 12 hr old and the ct100u for my 8yr old. For Christmas
Perfect!
Thanks, that’s kinda what I was wonder, if my knees would be hitting the handle bars.
Thank you for helping him out Warren ! Great info
They shouldn't hit. I'm 6'1" and my knees don't hit. Fun ride!
Thanks, enjoyed this video! Bought one for my son for Christmas today! He's 9 I hope he's big enough for it.
How has yours held Up?
It's good
That's so good
What's the mpg in case you want it as your local commuter?
Very informative...but I think I am going to stick with my Baja Warrior....thanks for posting!
SonnyGTA You are welcome!
I'm getting this same bike when it warms back up.
You will enjoy it
When unboxing this were there any documents that came with it title, manuals?
Yes
I'm 6ft 6 , and 300 lbs and it hauls my around good even with the grandson who thinks I got it for him 😉
Lol
lol
I have a Chinese at and a ct100u Coleman on the way and I only really ride them for like 30 mins
I have the ct200u
Realy Coolman
Thank you
I see a CVT conversion in your future!
Nah no reason for that unless it is cost effective when the clutch needs replacing
My son hasn’t riden his in about a year. How can I get it to start?
If you look at the throttle cable where it attaches to the carburetor you will see Coleman put a set screw in there to keep the bike from going to fast. I took a Dremel and cut the screw off. My speedometer app said I was doing 19 Mph before and 27 mph after. Took 1 minute to get 8mph more speed. I own 3 BT200s. You have to cut the screw because Coleman soldered it in.
I know but I am not interested in my kids riding above their skill level.
Hey bud! I’m looking at cutting the screw, just bought my bike this weekend. Being that this was 8 months ago, are you still running strong? Any issues since altering the governor screw?
Yeah I've had zero issues whatsoever. We took them out to the local ORV Park a couple weekends ago and had a blast
SuperRedthunda awesome, good to hear and thanks for the response!
@@phil_8367 It is the throttle screw. It doesn’t affect the governor at all.
Can you make a comparison video of the bt200x vs the monster Moto 80 cc or any of your other mini bikes
Sure!
What if mine will die in the middle of driving it how do I fix that
Looks well built frame
It really is.
I have a brand new $10,200 yamaha yz450 dirt bike and bought a coleman mini for my wife.......The coleman is fun as HELL !!!!!!!.......BUY ONE !!!!!
They are so much fun!
hi dan how did you get the bike on that table. to work on it.
Picked it up by doing a wheelie and then once the front wheel is on the table, I pick up the back end and roll it on the table.
i have this bike in orange can you fit the rear rack on without too many mods
Yes, other's have commented they mounted the back rack
Good job. Brother... Thanks
My son hasn’t risen his in about a year. Now it won’t start. How can I get it to start?
What kind of oil do you use?
I plan on purchasing one and I'm trying to inform my self as much as possible.
Thanks
I use 10w30 in cool temps and 10w40 in the summer
easy to over fill these. I was going off of it being threaded in and out. I had to drain some oil cuz I was blowing smoke and losing power as pressure came up. Caught it in time. Non-OXY gas; never gas with ethanol. Good idea for the oil filler (cleaner and more accurate). #BT200EX
Ok so been shopping as I plan on getting 3 Mini's for Myself and My 13 and 14 Year Old, I bought a CT 200 U that was used but with very little use, some minor TLC and it's like New, runs great. Been looking for the BT 200 X like what You're showing here, want New and Front Suspension. I've looked high and low, can't find the BT 200 X anywhere! Are they no longer available? Also, would the 200 series be too big for the Boys, I'm thinking the CT 100 U would be plenty enough for a couple young Teens? Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.. :)
ua-cam.com/video/4K2r5K7gQlQ/v-deo.html This video shows my 10 year old riding my 200X. Walmart has a 200X at my local store in stock so maybe walmart.com will help
They are back in stock. Walmart sells them online for $600.07 out the door. I bought 3 :)
So the weight limit is 200 and I'm about 215 and trying to get to 270 in muscle would that be a problem on this bike ?
Others weighing over 200 say it is ok.
Good bike
How is the headlight hooked up? Does it have a battery somewhere
No battery required. It get's its electric power off the engines self contained "generator" off the flywheel
Man, I had to pay 800 for mine. Tractor supply has them for 650 but they are out of stock every single one within a 50 mile radius so I had to resort to buying at Ace Hardware but they are fun machines.
Back in the 1980's I would have had the police called on me for even thinking about riding this across the road. Now the county puts up signs blocking your view of an intersection saying that the road is also an ATV trail.
I got ctu200 ex an I love it stage 1 kit an removed governor it gets down
LOL Down and Dirty!!!
How do you remove the governor thing or whatever? I've heard about it, I want to go fast lol
Where did you get the oil fill funnel.
I believe I purchased it at Autozone. They have an app if not one near you.
will this fit the faux storage tank off the ct200u ex ???
I am not sure
total mechanical noob here. always wanted a small motor vehicle that went about 20-25 mph and want to order this. how bad" for the engine is it to loosen the gov screw? if i'm just looking to max out at about 25 mph for a 190 LB rider.. would loosening the gov screw do that? thanks
You can loosen it. No big deal
@@DansHealthyVlog thanks man. just got mine and got it running easily.. but a few things maybe you could help me with if you don't mind- the chain fell off right away, had to loosen back tire and loosen the chain to get it back on.. and then tried to tighten it back up.. but it didn't seem like I could tighten the chain back.. I tightened both sides to the max.. and the chain still seems to have a lot of slack on it.
also it smells like burning plastic a little bit after running.. not sure where the smell is coming from.. and it doesn't smell like burning rubber from the tires.. but more of a burning plastic smell.
also it sounds and feels like the front fender is rattling a lot even though it is tightly on.. lol a lot of shit i just wrote, sorry.. any advise? thanks!
Does it have a clutch or cvt under that guard? I assume it's got the 5/8ths engine shaft.
Centrifugal Clutch
They stopped using the 3/4" shaft in 2016 during the CT200U run. Everything after that has the 5/8 (actually 16mm) shaft. The clutches used on the 16mm shaft have a caged bearing which lasts longer without service than the bushing equipped 3/4 clutches.
@@Deucealive75 yea, I dont usually have any problems with the bushing going bad they dont last that long for me because of heat buildup, I'd have to replace it with a tourque converter.
how often do you think the oil needs changed ?
50 hours
Does anyone know the drivers weight rating on these mini bikes? I'm in the 275 pound range.
150 I think. I weigh 160 and was over the limit.
blue loctite every nut and bolt!
Good idea!
Hey Dan, I've got a BT200X, and I'm gonnna buy a Predator 212 soon, do you think it will fit? I'm just curious if you were to know. :)
I believe the engine shaft on the 212 is 3/4 inch and the shaft on our Coleman’s are 5/8 so you will need a new clutch IF that is the case
@@DansHealthyVlog thank you sir, I really appreciate it!
Why would you get a 212? What's wrong with the engine it has?
@@Deucealive75 predator is way better
@@teydilla724 Predator is not way better. It only has a little more torque than the 196's. If I wanted way better I would get a Ducar or Tillotson. Either of those have higher quality and more power than a Predator.

Nice
I’m still confused on what the bt stands for and the difference between this one and the extreme one with front suspension besides the frame design
