Phil - how do you manage your anchor lines? I've got a new Fish Cat 9, and I can't figure out how to keep the anchor rope from getting all tangled into a nightmare. I'm also kind of confused about the stripping basket thing. Thanks.
sorry he didn't bother to respond... have you figured it out yet? it can be a bit tricky as the line feeds through all those tight tubes and pullies that cause additional friction on the line... I've got the Cat 10 fly casting model... and I've bypassed most of that system and put in my own pully's to give me better leverage... I also ran it under the seat down the centerline of the boat so that I can pivot right over that spot depending on wind and current to face up stream or down stream... that way, not proven yet, but won't need a double anchor system... it's all an experimental adventure... LOL... I'm also planning on adding more buoyancy to it as I plan on running a light weight 4hp motor...😁
I do agree with you... but there are 2 or 3 reasons: electric trolling motors are more efficient pulling a boat than pushing it; it does take some of the weight off the back and balance out some of the weight of the battery in the rear or any other gear you have back there; and it is easier to handle unless you have a swivel seat to turn around and use the motor in the rear.
Too far to kick with flippers or row against wind. I put my trolling motor in reverse and go backwards and use my fins as my rudder to stear. Way better than constantly trying to reach behind you and steer as it never tracks straight.
Sorry for the delayed response, we do make pontoons with larger load capacities. check out our other options on our website www.outcastboats.com/product-category/pontoon-boats/
Great video Phil. Be aware that in most states adding a motor (even a trolling motor) will require you to register your craft. Any inflatable applies.
Old old news ,,outcast get up to date , it’s 2024 plus.
Phil, when wiring up Minn Kota, do you have a preference between circuit breaker vs fuse? If you use a circuit breaker, where do you secure it to?

I use an outdoor retractable clothesline.
@@paulpurser8864 those work well if your anchor isn't too heavy or gets snagged.
why would you want that trolling motor obstructing your interactions with the fish or your casting? I don't get why some guys do this.

Do they make a boat for us big guys and gals
I bought a Dave Scadden Outlaw X5 because the weight limit is 1,000 pounds.
depends on how big... and what you intend to put on it for gear. The Outcast 10 I think goes up to 500lbs.
