Thanks so much for your videos. I like the straightforward style you use to explain everything, it's very helpful without all the extra fluff. I just saw your video on the door weatherstripping and sound dampening, I can't wait for my seals to arrive so I can do mine. Thanks for all your help!
Helpful video, just pent the last 2 weekends doing this project, removed alot of rust and had to repair the channel, just test fitted everything and it fits great, now to glue it all down
Very great video, wish my project was this easy but my seal channel was so rusted out, there were so many holes-I used metal reinforced filler to redo the channel, then our city does not sell weatherstrip adhessive so we just used an all purpose black silicone...just used a thin layer and smoothen it out...everything worked out...
Used to have an 80-something Z28 Camaro with the 5.0L HO engine, 5-speed manual, and t-tops. Loved that car. But the t-tops leaked bad. I always kept a few towels on the seat for when it rained. Lol
I was considering doing this before the winter bc my passenger side top isn't tight. It sits really low and has some movement if I wiggle it while latched but if I have to glue new seals in then maybe this is better for when the car is redone.
How many 5oz. 3M weatherstrip adhesive tubes would you need for both driver and passenger T-Top seal? Is one enough? I'm planning out all the materials I need for my repair. And thank you for the great video, it will help me out a lot when I do this job.
@@3rdGenGuy Thank you for the quick reply. Two more questions, do you recall where (online or in-store) you bought the new push pins and the their part number/reference? Or was it just a generic push pin and just get one that matches the old one? I have trouble finding new push pins online and I may end up reusing the ones when I do the job.
Excellent video, thanks! Did you wait a week before you reinstalled the trim pieces? Can you do that right after you installed the new weatherstripping?
@@3rdGenGuy supersoft by metro? Was the fit ok? I heard its hard to put the ttop back because its too thick? Sorry to bug u.. Am in the process in getting a seal myself. Thank u for the help :)
@@johnhopkins1862 that’s is a good idea! I’d have never thought of this technique for my Camaro is also my daily. This video did make me nervous about rust under there though.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This helped out a LOT
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks man!!!
Well done. But wait a week? That seems a bit long to not use the car.
Do you leave the trim pieces off for a week when letting the seals form or put them on them let it set with trips and door closed for a week?
My trim fit over the seals.
Hi are you using wetherstripe kit or only for the t top? I think i would buy the whole kit!

Doesn't take much adhesive. i didn't even use 1/4 of the tube i had.

@@nivlacnihc the pins were from hawks. i got like 20 of them because i know i'll bust more pins by accident in the future.
Great work. After watching this tho...I should've replaced the seals at the same time as the headliner. I already replaced my headliner.
i feel ya
my headliner is completely wasted from california Sun.
Hello, great movie, where can I buy the new T-TOP tape in the movie? I want to buy it too, thank you
There's a few websites that sell new door rubber.
www.hawksmotorsports.com/
www.camarocentral.com/default.asp
Good luck my Japanese friend

Pretty sure i only Kept the T-tops on and door closed for a week. it's to keep the glue from un-bonding.
time for a new headliner, nice video keep up the good work!
there will be a video on that ha ha
Everything fits besides the t top
Hello, Great and awesome video! What brand of weather seal did you use here?
i used "superSoft" but there are a few brands out there.

Hi!! Thanks forma ShareThis whit us. Grate job, but can you teach how install a Window louver on Camaro 3thr gen? Please
I'm glad you liked the video
However, I absolutely HATE Window louvers
sry man, you probably won't see me make a video of it
My god, I feel like I actually lost brain cells from reading this comment.
Any install appointments available?
I have a rule: I don't work any any cars besides my own and close family members.
So should I not open the door for a week when i glue the seal in?
basically ya.
it's to ensure everything stays put as the glue fully cures.
you DON'T want to re-do this install
@@3rdGenGuy ok thanks👍
@@3rdGenGuy since it's my daily should I do one side one week and then the other side the other week?

Will this be same on a 99 camaro?
a 99 is a 4th gen so no. however the process is very similar.
this same kit on the same website cost 359 :(

@@librettia wouldn't that actually be because of trumps import tarrifs? It does come from China. Lol
I changed mine but they still leak... You need a new headliner
Oh ya, the headliner is FINISHED!
the front end is completely apart, so that's the biggest priority.
Expect to see some front suspension vidoes
That’s strange I wonder why it would still leak with new seals?
