I'm a sucker for 3rd gens with 5spokes. Even in that barf banana-rama yellow...she gorgeous.
Painting those rims to match the factory look is a 10000x improvement!
That 85-87 IROC-Z28 came out Great! Very nice subtle touches while retaining the core looks of the iconic car. Well done😁
Man this brought back memories. I had an 87 IROC wayyyyyyyy back in 91 when I was 21!
I'd be rockin' Motley Crue cruising up and down. Good Times!
stock oem IROC RIMS were the best factory rims IMHO
They are the best oem rims for a camaro but they look gay when people put um on other cars !!!
@@shane8911 nobody asked for you to be a little bitch, but here you are.
Word to the wise :later ('88 up ) Iroc 16" wheels were different offsets , meaning rotation meant breaking tires off wheels and rotating with new mount balance . If you tried to put rears on front , it would not clear brakes. I had an '88 5.7 and know all about it
@@johnnygride2118
mostly true but i had them on a 85 blazer with some fat tires and they really looked cool.
@@rms1990 nobody told you to be a troll who talks smack !!!Safe behind your 15$ doller general smartphone but there you are !!!
Man I miss my old Camaro should’ve never got rid of it
$30 in wheel paint, $300 in painters tape.
LOL
Budget Camaro… while they spend 20 hrs masking off wheels.
The painter is high as a kite
i hope no sober man has the attention span to buff an entire car without getting so bored that his personality splits and he starts talking to himself
I loved this series. Great job.
Looks awesome!
Instablaster
Them mulits would have made good finishing buffers.
Oh well live and learn.
Funny thing is. A stock Iroc would lay ruber just as far🤣
Thats cause of the tired old 350 they dropped in it! 🤣
@@splash5974 they put a shot o' nitrous on it tho. But what do u expect? Chevy 350 isn't op by any means. But they can be a great start to a powerful street/strip engine.
I love the way the wheels came out. I love the old IROC-Z's period
I've been watching this show series since the 90's and this mullet malita automobile is my favorite
Getting rid of the TPI is a crime. It's the most iconic part of the IROC
I hate when people swap fi for carb
THIS. ^^^^
and hell they prolly could have made same ifnot hair more power then they made with the motor they put in.. meaning the way the motor is now, how they did it since what they did too it should have made way more power then it did end up making. not total waste tho if somone comes along that knows motors they can or should be able to get atleast 400hp out of the setup they got regardless if it is a truck bottom end or not
I agree, mine is STOCK TPI. 1988 🤘
I had a Lingenfelter box ram on my SC 383 IROC
Turtle Wax Hard Shine & tire clear wax is what I use.... my IROC glistens always 👀👍 as for rags I use a soft royal cannon thick towel to buff the shine by hand... you really don’t need a lot of expensive tools for a great glossy shine👍
Rubbing compound, wool pad, high speed buffer, dont go down to the primer (or metal!) Super seal/glaze. Then a hand wax. I did this every day in the early 90s.
y'all even got a paradise city ripoff playin... that's hilarious
Lol, copyright is a biotch!
sounds more like slow ride from dazed and confused
I want one so bad! Best camaro body style hands down.
I've been doing paint correction since 1986 probably about 30 years or so and using that small ass buffer it will take you all day I can knok that paint down and just an hour maybe 2 hours with a DeWalt adjustable speed what's three stages of material 3M them small hand polisher orbital buffers they get hot and it takes all day
So how much of this budget build would go to a professional correcting every inch of paint?
That’s awesome! At the end driving an IROC-Z with a mullet is a must.
After 3 years of waiting the last episode
black power✊🏿
@@yungtooli who asked?
@@lmfao2183 no one, i thought we were just expressing what we’re both proud of🤝
@@yungtooli fair point
Not sure the host has any room to make fun of mullets or the people that wear them.
"Takalikathashan! SON!"
Ashamed the 350 was so weak after those parts
Ya, the power was very low for the money and time.
My Stolen 1973 Pontiac 350 2 Bbl Put Out 175 Horsepower At 4400 RPM And 280 Ft. Lbs. At 2400 RPM On 7.6:1 Compression. So There.
@@richardkaltenbach3961 ok cool
My old man went though his "Mid Life crisis" back in 1988. He went out and bought a 89' IROC brand new off the dealership floor ... Candy apple Red with Black and dark grey interior fully loaded. I was 13 years old and it was the first car I learned to drive! It was the ultimate at that age!! LOL
Thanks for giving it love. I'll be waiting for you to drop it off at my house.😀
I believe most of the projects went to the crusher.
The mullet joke is overblown. Take it from someone that grew up in the 80s and even owned an iroc.... I knew no one, including myself that wore a mullet. This is a myth that will not die.
Takes me back to high school!!!!
I had a 82 z28 with 350 turbo trans, slow off the line but would top at 145 and handled it well.
I used to work in a car detailing center and used Megwires 3 step polishes. Messy and a pain ti remove when dried. We also used a quick desolve solution that would polish and remove a dead layer of finish just by applying it and a few minutes later wipe it off. I'm not sure what kind of voodoo it was but it was based on a urethane solution that basically melted the loose dried surface. I call it cheating but damn did it ever work well and no buffing. Saved time and hard work. We only offered it as a quick solution and charged less ovbiously. If I remember correcrly it did not last as long as a polishing methode. Probably would last if a carnuba wax was applied.
I was watching this guy in the video use the polishing buffer and he was a pro at it. Using the weight of the polisher to apply the rubbing and not pushing on it plus keep moving.
Hell yeah I love this build
Can I be the first to say I love the thumb nail🤣
I woulda preferred the 4 coats myself. Cool idea though, didn't know they made that kinda rattle can.
Had a red Z28 it was an 1985 with T-Tops really enjoyed that car. Out of all my camaro’s my favorite was my 1995Z convertible
The mullet scene was the best.
I love the iroc
Nice work!
The Car Looked Awesome,i like the JOE DIRT WIGS Also
Weren't you all going to cover the third gen suspension?
Great show
My First love. 87 Iroc Black on Black, Louvers 😍 305ho 4bbl 4:11 rear. I Really need to Buy Her Back.....
Gotta love the Mullets.
I had a 86 iroc z28 with a 305 tpi w/T-tops always felt like I was going to fall out. it's a cool car.
Damn that song playing when they were masking the wheel!!!!! Funky
I’m rebuilding one right now I already put a new 350 and transmission in it still have along way to go with it but it’s running now
For anyone wondering what the song is at the end it's "Pair of Dice Sitting"
Polishing that old tin cup to a silver chalice , it’s still a drinking vessel!
How much of our budget in our "budget build" went to the professional coming out and correcting every inch of paint on the car?
the back lights could had use a little buff too but overall is looks nice 👍
How long it take to buff out that Camaro that's what I would like to know because I can buff one down in about an hour and it will look brand-new smooth as glass
Is there a clearcoat with that wheel paint or is it that durable for years of life?
Nice entry level car. I can't relate to those 200k high dollar builds like I can these simple builds.
I'm considering darkening my C-6 Corvette "gumby" wheels that are polished and have a clearcoat. Will the Plasti-Coat kit work with my clearcoat or will it react with the clearcoat and cause a mess?
i have an 85 F41 .. 305 .warrior intake .. 750 Holley ultra..headers ... its fun..
Gen 3 best looking ever.
Life's a garden. Dig it.
One quick question. Does it have a whitesnake tape stuck in the tape deck?
Hey tommy u coming to the Lincoln county fair demolition derby
I’m from Lincoln county TN haha
One of my favorite cars for sure!! You got to check out my 77 Square Body!
I saw you spray water on the car at the beginning of the video. You're not gonna tell us where we can buy that water?
Tommy on the Banjo and Fiddles
Yea "go fast goodies " does not apply to this anemic 350.
How much did the buff job cost?
I've got mayo and a grinder should do the job right? ;)
Do I first say that I like the thumb nail?
17:25 NOW it's an Iroc 🤘
That's it, I'm growing a mullet.
slow ride...take it easy......man i loved that movie
My third gen Camaro is sun burnt I'd say too far to recover but I don't know for sure. For example, the factory flame red paint rubs off on ur hand when you pass over it. Should I just consider a new paint job, or could I get by with a buff and polish still?
just save up for new quality body work and paint job
Paint job lol
Your 3rd brake light is out lol
Did they show the suspension upgrade if they did i can't find it
1:03 did I miss something? Wheres the suspension episode?
Someone forgot to wake Chris up!
Cool IROC. If I owned it, I'd get rid of the nitrous and daily-drive it.
Keep it just incase
Why cant you just not use it ?
@@michaelteeple8704 if I left it in the car, it would be dead weight.
Ain’t like it’s going any where fast anyways
Sweet Car
I feel attacked, my culture is not your costume! 😭 - :Teases mullet in my garage checking my reflection in my TransAm mirror with RATT playing on the stereo.
Do the vents pump out Drakkar Noir?
Hugo Boss buddy...
I have an 85 😉
Where's the suspension upgrade clip?
These videos are for people stuck watching 90’a hot rod shows.
whats wrong with being stuck watching 90s hotrod showes?
They buy new expensive tires and immediately do a burnout
Yea, I cringed.
Paradise City 🤘
love that car
Gotta do this to my '86 Firebird T/A, that LG4 is not doin' it!, plus front and rear suspension, should be a true sleeper! (LSX would be my choice).
Screw that, drop a junkyard 5.3 or 6.0 with heads and cam and you will have a mean car!!
How do you fix T-Top leaks?
Props to Chris! He is da man!!!!
That's definitely not factory paint. It's single stage and look at the orange peel on that thing.
Factoryish color.
Damn it, I strongly agree. My 86 factory paint does not have orange peal at all, 1st owner. If you see in the beginning, it looks like that corner been touched up.
Once again folks, "ADVERTISEMENT"...🤑💲💸💵
budget minded deal/ after all new parts every where lol
Is this the same car they rebuilt the motor and it was only 250 horse??
Well with nitro it got up to 292 hp LMAO
250 hp on motor...
292 hp with 100hp nos?
These #'s are horrendous!
They started with a junk 350 that was tired...Might aswell have put the nos on the 305! Lol
How is he on the brakes whilst burning out the rears? Brake bias adjuster?
Im confused...hes doing a burnout! What do you mean?
Even when holding the brakes, the engine will eventually out power the rear brakes with enough throttle (unless the engine is completely gutless). Why? 60% of your braking is done with the front brakes.
front brakes dumb azz
Did Tommy lose his DL?
What are the e.t.s?
Please put a nub antenna on it please
How much for the Iroc
It needs Bumblebee racing stripes
Wheel twist @ 17:34
Forbidden race juice
I loved this build except for you guys replacing the entire interior, finding mildew and realizing the T-tops are leaking.....and doing nothing to fix the problem, lol.
They would like CrisFix
I absolutely detest burnouts. I'm much more impressed with a rocket takeoff from standing still or at cruising speeds. Most anything can perform a burnout.
Your man card is hereby revoked…
What happened to the Buick build
still working on it. I think they did an episode on it last weekend
