Can someone help me out, I have a z28 camaro 92 and putting a 1989 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.7 in it and the power steering pulley won’t fit. Or how do I bypass it so I can have power steering
That 305 was a champ that took a crazy amount of abuse, BUT 170hp from a 5.0L was sad. JDM cars of the same era were making 220+ horsepower with tiny engines without turbos.
Perfect timing for the video series. I just removed my old 305 from my 82 camaro, so it's nice to see some differences from your year of car to mine even though there the same third Gen body. Keep it up love your videos👍
I run high end parts already, BUTTTT often times I like to give away parts to local subscribers with 3rd gens. I basically film the install on their car, in exchange they get free stuff. But that's doesn't mean I'll be a SHILL.
I would like to upgrade my 87 Firebird with the 305 LA H vin engine. To say it is disappointing is an understatement. I found it is my friends garage and it has not run in over 20 years. Since I do not race do not need to go to extreme measures to lighten him. Then again being a girl love my AC. Any thoughts on how to get this project done? No mechanic in the area will work on him and my garage is well small.
Well my videos will help, although I'm going FAR beyond a budget build. learning car stuff is trial and error, it's something that you have to experience yourself. it can be annoying at times but it's all worth it in the end.
Where are you going with this? I removed all of these pieces a while ago. I bought a one piece fiberglass bumper cover and threw away that 27 lb bumper. I made a tube steel bumper I opened up the front of my Camaro. I made a new radiator mount bracket for easy removal in the future I am not sure how I’m going to fasten everything back together so I’m excited with what you come up with. I have purchased and installed quality parts on my 92. Take time to look at what I’m doing with my camaro and tell me what you think!!!
@@3rdGenGuy well I’m glad you’re building your car They closed our drag strip in SLC Bonneville raceway which was a shame so I’m just building a street car but I’m doing a once in a lifetime car and it’s far and few between 3rd gen car building that aren’t dragsters so I’m a dedicated viewer of your channel. You have a very unique way of presenting your car build and you aren’t cheap on the parts you use Keep the videos coming 3rd gen guy!!! Thank you!!! Happy holidays
cool man if you can do a detailed process on how to remove the factory engine and drop a la engine that would be amazing. Im looking to swap a ls into my thirdgen
The early third gen Z28 Camaros had aluminum front bumper supports. They are an easy way to remove some weight while keeping the durable urethane front bumper for cone impacts. Note they also had factory fiberglass hoods with vents for the cross fire engines than would require some solution.

why didn't you remove the radiator support so the engine can pull straight out instead of over it?
that's not removable in a 3rd gen. it's spot welded to the chassis.
I beg to differ on the "poor excuse" of a V8. That's the technology of the Era.

Im really excited for the end of the project 😍😍
I hope you go over the new crash bar, mine kissed a tow hitch so I need some ideas on a light weight option for autocross
how can we send you some pro touring 3rd gen parts?

Congratulations. I am about 2/3 done with my 83 LS upgrades. Looking forward to your additional videos on this project. Happy New Year.

The OEM aluminum bumpers are 1/2 the weight of the steel ones.
But I think I can make something that's 1/5 the weight.
What are you doing with your old engine and transmission?
A local guy wants them for his wife's 3rd gen daily.
I want more 3rd gens rolling around.
So I sold them for cheap.
The motor can be removed from the side, over the fender ,passenger or driver side. Just did a swap with a t56 Installed to the motor
What type of radio antenna do you have?
What are you using as antenna?
I won't need a radio where i'm going
@@3rdGenGuy ok? What antenna were you using?
@@banditt1972 it was some amazon special, I think UMI sells a billet antenna.
I never used my radio, so IDK if that baby antenna even worked right.
Any parts you want to give away lol 😂
