- yeah. that's right. I called it a downwinger. moving on...
so we are trying to break into downwinding, but we are just at that figuring-it-out phase. ready and eager, we have to start somewhere. after a failed attempt a few days ago, we decided to scout out some terrain with our wings for a future run. we ended up having an awesome session.
gear ridden wing sesh:
4.5m v3 Strike
75L Armstrong v1 FG board
HA880 foil
795 HM mast, 10 in track
60 fuse
205 surf stab (blue & red shim)
Kaohi double coil grip leash
What a day! So happy to have this on tape. Thanks Jeremy! Can't wait for the day we do this without wings!
@bcransto1 yeah man what a trip! so glad we did that, so stoked for the next time without the wing!
One of the best.
Down winging. Did you need to adjust your mast placement Jeremy? That’s a lot of shim. Just curious. I use the ha780 in almost all conditions. 87kg. Sometimes would appreciate the 880 I’m guessing. 🥂
The wind looks great in this video. Super jealous!
Oh man it was perfect. Almost too much for the 4.5m but we were just going down wind so it was never an issue. I can’t wait to make this run again!
Thanks for sharing this excellent down wind run I found it very interesting , i'm always nervous of going so far out to sea but it is something i'm working on as you know . A fantastic long run by brandon flagged out well done guys .
as always have a awesome week and good winds bro
Thanks as always Chris! Going a mile out is so out for my comfort zone as well. It’s a little better when you have a paddle, but at least this day it was blowing side on pretty hard so there wasn’t a lot of trouble we couldn’t get in. But with the waves stacking up at that sand bar, I was totally stoked the whole time! Talk soon bud, I wish you an awesome weekend!
Sick downwinger! Sorry I missed ya at Hardings, I was at work...
🙏 thanks! And no worries! I’ll get down there again soon! I saw your staring in another production, I haven’t watched it yet but look forward to it! I wish you guys an awesome weekend!!
A little surprised you didn’t take out your downwind board. I bought one a few months back and find I’m riding it almost exclusively now. In our usually light wind conditions, it is much easier to get up and going compared to the board I had been riding. Almost the same number of liters displacement but a much narrower outline.
I do live the dw board but I really wanted to shred hard with a smaller foil. It was blowing 25-30 so I was stoked to be on something small. The ML board arrived today, so it was kinda like a saying goodbye sesh to my old FG too. So stoked about the ML!
Wow the ML reviews. Can’t wait 😛
Yea, he’s riding the DW almost every session now. I still enjoy my 80L shredder board, but I have seen the advantages of the DW. Just not sure if I want to spend the $$ for one.
@@559danh the ML only go up to 85ltrs. It’s a wave board with all the advantages of a lighter wind float

I could see you boys from Hardings....looked like fun!!!
it was great! that trip got me stoked. you'd dig it on a wing for sure.
Absolutely 👍
Watch for sharks…
Totally! Thankfully the tend to stay where their food is, but it’s not that far away!
@@OCEANBOUND1 my friends who live in Chatham year round say there are always a couple half eaten seals on the beach.
@@ThatPNWlyfe yeah if you go out to Monomoy (not far) you can always find seals on the shore with shark holes. there was supposedly a great white off of Nahant the other day... so much closer to home... yikes!
Please dont stop using WINGS 😢
Hahaha I promise I won’t! This area doesn’t have a ton of dw options, it’s a challenge that I’m loving. So many paddle sessions in the past few months I havent covered, but it’s nice to finally see some gains. Thanks for watching and I wish you an awesome day!!
Looked an awesome day 😎 love this run need to push myself some more in this direction I'm nervous of been so far out tho haha 😄 more for me to learn.
Great vlog interesting thanks for sharing my man your buddy's long ride is very impressive 👍
Have a great weekend to you and the crew
