    Me to brother,I need to wing to manage stress , but I get more stressed and down if I'm not getting out on water, drives my wife mad . I find it hard especially this time of year as its getting dark ,so I know the struggle, wing, kite, surf is my release my drug of choice.
    Hope you heal fast, and get back on water and running soon . I broke my little toe this year,falling over the dog 🐕 but I managed to wing the following week. Hurt but got away with it.
    Thanks for sharing. 😊
    Always look forward to seeing what you have been up to .

      yeah bud! same here, to some if may sound selfish but my wife knows it's a necessity. good for the whole fam. and same here, as we move into the dark time of the year, my possible hours of getting on the water drastically decrease and the challenge is real.
      and healing is going well. I think I'll be able to do my run coming up soon. fingers crossed.
      you'd appreciate this: I woke up this morning and decided I was gonna bleep out my F-bombs, so changed the release time and am currently still rendering a new version of this vid. but I forgot to hit save in YT. so the F-bombs stay! oops! lol.
      I wish you an awesome weekend!

    Taking 'toes to the nose' to a whole new level! Every year I have winged, there's been at least one injury that has had me off the water for a few weeks. You'll be back ripping in no time.

      lol toetotally! and same here, I'm no stranger to injury. this is the second time I got stitches from winging. my chiropractor and I have spent many hours hanging out since I started. I'm just thankful we haven't had a "decent" hurricane season, cause then I'd be really bumming. it's healing pretty fast. fingers crossed. thanks bud, I wish you an awesome weekend!!

    Another great looking session. Damn, flappy is not good. Fortunately you have the no wait local skin closure connection. Keep it clean for a few more days. You'll be back at it soon.

    Oh man I feel for you. I cut my foot walking out after probably the best surf I ever had at Nahant. It was an all time dawn patrol before school. Ended up with stitches in the bottom of my foot but all I wanted to do was get back to surf in the afternoon. The water back then in the 90's was like stinky chocolate milk.
    Hope you are healed up ready to run and foil now.

      thanks bud! sucks that happened to you too! that def happened on a Monday after a stormy weekend and my thoughts were focused more on not getting an infection than anything else. I'm so lucky I didn't get one! I already purchased another bottle of hydrogen peroxide to keep in my car :P 15 years ago I got 10 stitches on the bottom of my foot from a shell while kiting and when they were cleaning that out it was like the most pain I've ever been in, so thus booties 99.9% of the time since.
      all healed now, super stoked it was an uneventful recovery.
      thanks so much for watching bud! hope to see you out in the Nahant lineup sometime!!

    Sorry to see this man. I am 51 and took this week off work to wing all week and clear my head. First session kicked my foil getting on board and cut the top of my foot, I never do that. Blood all over my white deck pad but wasnt too bad so kept going. Then fell on a wave just like you and smacked the inside of my knee on my board hard. Black and blue and super painful. 5 days later can still hardly bend my knee and have no idea how long until it is better. Spent my week clearing my head annoyed on the couch. So pissed at wasting a week with no winging. Anyway mate hope you get back on the water soon.

    Yep, totally get out on the water to just not have to think about stuff, and get a workout, and feel good afterwards, and learn stuff, and have fun, and meet people at the beach, and get a tan 😊

      @OCEANBOUND1  3 місяці тому +1

      yeah I agree with all that! it's certainly a lifestyle that I subscribe to, just a continuation of what being a kiter was to me. but it really is healthy for the body and mind. and funny, about the tan, I've had a tan face and hands for the last 17 years since I started kiting year round. love it. thanks bud, I wish you an awesome weekend!!

    UHHH Too bad.. so ALL the best .. I recently have been at a Foil event here in northern Brazil (I did race) and the day before just cruising around .. outside off the reef .. a very nice wave building up . I happy surfing (without any wetsuit) and suddenly I saw it .... SHHHI... the reef . .just 5 cm of water in front of me and me flying towards the corals ... My first thought (OH NO I JUST ARRIVED) --- at the end I managed to continue, but could have been very bad .. so comeing back to your bad luck .. I whish you can take part in the race, actually was going to ask you about races ... and good healing. Very important to clean out the head ..

    • @OCEANBOUND1
      @OCEANBOUND1  3 місяці тому

      yikes that sounds like it could have been gnarly!! glad it worked out OK. you live in Brazil or just visiting for that event?
      and thanks so much bud! so far my foot is healing nicely, I think the race will work out. I just won't plan on doing any crazy miles this year. part of me wanted to push for 20 hours of continual movement. but unlike some that power through these crazy races no matter what is going on in their bodies, when my body tells me it's getting pissed I usually stop. I don't want a run to ruin any potential sessions on the water in the following weeks. so we will see, fingers crossed. thanks again and I wish you an awesome weekend!!

    Wow! Your feet have really taken some damage. Sorry to hear about this latest freak accident. Looks like it really hurt. I take grief from friends because I always wear booties. Most concerned about stepping on broken glass and pointy rocks. This gives me another excuse to wear them. Thanks Jeremy.

    • @OCEANBOUND1
      @OCEANBOUND1  2 місяці тому

      oh dude unfortunately this is only a small fraction of what I've put my feet through :P but I have that 100% bootie rule and figures the first time I consciously break it, this happens. thankfully the stitches did their thing, infection stayed away, and I'm almost 100% good. only slightly more unprepared for my big run than I usually am. more on that soon. I wish you an awesome day!!

    Wishing you a speedy recovery! Have you ever considered using the Flymount wing camera mount? I use it with a GoPro Hero 5 Session or Insta 360 Go 3 because they are lighter. I think the footage from the wing angle is great. Thanks for sharing!

    • @OCEANBOUND1
      @OCEANBOUND1  3 місяці тому +1

      thanks so much bud! I guess have an early flymount, and I hated it because of how much it throws the balance out of whack. I could probably get a new one but my mouth is a little soured on those. I recently got a insta x3 and second session the mount that connected to it broke off right at the base of the camera and I lost it. so I'm not getting anything that doesn't float. it is good angles in general but I def get sick of the angle after a minute or two.
      thanks for the comment, I wish you an awesome weekend!!

      yeah I can't believe the one sesh out of hundreds that I don't wear booties, this happens. the booties totally would have prevented the stitches. ohhh well. won't be making that mistake again. thanks bud, I hope all is well in yr part of the world, I wish you an awesome weekend!

      thanks bud! it's healing nicely, I think I'll be OK for the race. it's the Ghost Train in Brookline NH. I don't really have time to run anymore so I just kinda wing it, I hope I can still get to 30 or 45 miles, but the last two years I got to 60. search my channel, I have a few videos on it. and awesome experience.

    Love the videos! Why did you opt for the 880 instead of the 680?

    • @OCEANBOUND1
      @OCEANBOUND1  3 місяці тому +1

      thanks bud!! so the sesh before this I was riding with Gage, and I lent him this 4.5m v3 Strike and I was on a different wing. I was really jealous of how light it looked the way he was dragging it around and whatnot, and so it really made me wanna use the 4.5 vs something bigger. but the winds we predicted to drop, so I went for the 880 to cover my bases. my friend Clarke was out on a 680 and a 7m. the key is I wanted to drag the wing around behind me more and bigger heavier wings are more annoying to do that, so the 880 made more sense to make that happen. the thing with the 880... it really can perform well if you push it, so I don't ever mind riding it even though it's kinda my lightwind go-to. if anything it's a little more smooth than the 680.
      thanks bud, I wish you an awesome day!
