Thank you mate! The entire journey leading up to jumping was something incredible to me. I remember my first "jump" over a wave and i was freaking out! After that you only want to go higher and higher which will push you into wanting to learn more tricks. Most people are shocked of what you can achieve in 1 year of kiting when they see, the key to this is consistency and passion. I'm most of the time the first to arrive on the spot and the last to leave. A lot of work went into this which you'll see as a result. Loved the question and keep me updated on your progression! Would love to see it!
amazing! I've been kiting since 2019 and developed some skills since then, including small jumps (bellow 7m) and hydrofoil but have not learned how to progress on kiteloop yet. I'm a little bit scared to get hurt on my age (45's)
That's great! Just keep learning to jump higher as you get comfortable with looping the kite. Try some downloop transitions to jump fownloop transitions and keep building up the height! Be aware that the kits most likely will not catch you in the 3-7m heights so either go slow or full send it! And why worry about can happen? It hasnt right? Just stay mindfull and know your limit. Looping the kite is something which i think is overrated as the pull dependa on the wind. Hopefully this helped!
Hi Jakub, For kitesurfing you really need to take lessons as it is a dangerous sport and need to know the safety features en dangers of it. I myself learnt it quitte fast +/-8 hours and after that i bought my own gear and tried it myself. I did have expierence prior from other board sports which helped me out a lot. Hope this helps you out 🤙🏼
@@stijnbrandtkitesurfing hey mate! Thanks for your reply! Yep, I have already taken some lessons (about 15h and I am only about to stand on the board) so it kind of goes slowly, but I had some lessons with huge waves, which made it more difficulty. Probably this will improve my control of the kite & board in difficult conditions in the future. Sick progress mate, keep it up and have fun 🙌
To be fair, kevin is a millennial 😂 and i don't state i'm "awesome" but you just did so thanks! Just want to show people what is possible with 1 year and motivate people to go kiting.
Great video man! good to see you stuck with it. Also, I can tell the right gear has made a difference in your riding. Would you be willing to touch on that? what worked and what worked better? Thanks and keep up the good work.
I started with gaastra pures (freestyle kites) which where great in the beginning but after 3 months i wanted to boost and that wasnt really possible on those. So i decided to change my quiver after 6-7 months to '21 orbits and man do i love them. I was able to define my technique to go higher, feally trust the kite and how fast it is. It really learned me how to as the kite will most of the time catch me from 5m which most kites will do from 7m. Hopefully this helped!
Thats insane!! How did you learn to jump and loop, did you take extra lessons or just experimented. Also, how do you find new stuff to learn cause i had no clue loops were even a thing (I'm a nub so that might be why, but still. Just wondering)
Thanks mate! Slowly building my skills up. 1st learn to jump, 2nd learn proper technique, get co comfortable with downloops, try it with a transition jump and build the height up from there Learnt most of the tricks by watching videos and trying/crashing a lot!
Great progress! I also started a year ago and just jumped 11m in height, but loops are still giving me the trouble. I noticed you use Ozone Torque v2 board, but ride North kites. Did you test also North boards? Why did you choose Torque v2? I'm considering it as well as my next board.
Thats some great progress! You should filn your progression! Loops is something you get better at by trying over and over again. It doesnt go always go right for me aswell, part of the game! I ride ozone torque because my previous board (crazyfly shox '17) sucked. I was looking for new boards with channels for grip and the boards i had in my vision where torque, atmos and eleveight commander. The atmos only had channels at the tips wich i didnt really see the point of at that time and the commander was in my opinion to much. So i chose the route in between which was the torque. But nowadays all boards are great choices!
@@Jules1238bla dont know any unfortunately, would love to ride a good spot there tho. I expect the channel between england en belgium as a really good spot for hard eind as it gets channeld, but there will be a lot of current aswell. If you know any, let me know 😜🙌
Ok, you are young. If you want to make a life out of it later you have to do like this and competitions too. But important is to have a good day and time on the water without only play phone on sofa. No matter how high or how many loop or what number a app tell. Cheers
my most riden spot is at Egmond aan zee in the Netherlands. i always went kiting when the wind was blowing no matter the conditions so i didn't keep track of amount of kite hours. i do wear a impact vest under my wetsuit just in case. had a couple bad crashes so the ribs.
hey man! i started before the pandemic, during i had quitte a bit of time but i still needed to travel 3+ hours to get to the spot. i coulc spend the night and then needed to get back another 3+ hours... was a struggle but all worth it
Great content bro, I subscribed! I’m kiting for more than 7 years with stops.. at the last couple of weeks my jumps got much better (free ride and normal jumps) but I’m always finding myself too afraid to try a down loop after a jump! Even when people on the beach explaining me, and even on lower wind days.. I’m kinda heavy rider and I’m riding a 12M kite.. just now I was manage to do a down loop transition but only to one side.. (I mean without jump) and I got really exited! I made me rider faster after the transition ! Do you think I can trust my 12M kite (Switch blade which is 5 struts and not that fast) for down loops? Is Heli loops and down loops are the same things b it different names? Also, I heard it’s almost impossible to do kite loops with 12M kite and I’m thinking about buying a smaller one.. is 10M good enough for this kind of things? I think 3 struts kite are faster and bette mr for this use than 5 struts, am I right? Btw- I think heli loop is just a down loop but to the same side as the jump and not the side of the land like a “down loop”? And sooorrrryyy but does EVERY downloop force me to riding to the new direction? Can’t I just land to the same riding direction? Man! Thank you very much for taking the time and read our comments and replay ! I’m looking forward to see your crazy profession and wish you the best of luck! Keep safe 🙌🏻
thank you so much! that's what i hear most of the time, people are to scared to loop the kite. in my oppinion, it really isnt. you felt it your self with downloop transitions you are the one who is in charge of the amount of power. if you go along with the kite it doesnt really power up while you edge against it it is really powerfull. thats kind of the same with downloops, if you jump low it doesnt pull much up because the kite isnt fast enough to really catch you so it really to just try. how i got into them is to just do it! like whats the worst that can happen in 16-17knt? just send it and finish the loop and you'll be like ''thats it, thats all i was worried about?!''. kitesize helps with being faster in the loops, start with a 12 in low wind to get a feel and then try to do them higher, thats when you really feel the extra uplift. i dont really know if a 3 strut vs 5 strut is really faster, my orbit is really fast so i really dont know. the main difference between a ''downloop'' and a ''heliloop'' is really simple. a downloop is when you go for a jump for lets say to the right, kite is at 45 and send it up to 12-11. when you go down you pull the loop on your front hand. a heliloop is when you jump and the kite is at 11, you send it back to 1 and pull the loop on your back hand. hope this helps you out and if you need more advice hit me up on instagram. just gop for the downloop!
Definetly film your progression, its not only fun to watch but also te rewatch after x months years like "was i that shit 😂" i mainly used the mouthmount because the chest mount doesnt give that wel pov effect
Awesome video !! Quick question: just started 1 year ago and still struggling with the jump reception. I am coming down way too fast, with the bar all in, even if I steer before coming back on the water. How can I smoothen my reception ? Thanks a lot for this video, it brightened my morning at work !
Thank you man! Glad it made your day better! I don't really know what is happening with your jumps, i've got to see what you mean. If you are local from the Netherlands you can come by and ill help you out or if you have a video send it to me on instagram.
@@pierre7031 Well, I do to smoothen my landings is to quickly let the bar out and then pull it back in. Kind of when your kite is back stalling you let it breathe by letting the bar out.
Push the bar out when you hit the apex of the jump, then on the way down either pull a heli loop or redirect the kite, then pull in the bar just before landing
Very amazing progression in one year man!! Also super cool video! Quick question for you what’s the kite that’s you have been using and in which size? Keep going like this!!
Thank you mate! I used to kites the gqastra pures '21 for the first 5-6 months and the progressed into north orbits '21. Sizes shouldnt matter because everyone has a diferent weight and rides different. Look what suits you best. Keep shredding!

Wat mega!! Ben net begonnen na jaren wakeboarden en dit is zwaar motiverend. Precies mijn doelen. Keep it up!
Goed om te horen!
Dude! you inspired me to dust of the gear and try it again!!!
That got me so happy! Thank you so much for your response and go for it! If you need any advice you can hit me up on insta 🙌
Wow i wish i progressed as fast as you
nice video bro🥳
Welp I've been at it for 3 years and I'm just learning transitions haha. Did a self-land once and may learn how to self rescue soon.
Nothing wrong with that! Keep doing what you love and you'll do them one day 🙌
SICK MAN !
Geweldige video man.. doe zo verder✌🏼
Did you take any lessons? If so, how many hours of lessons did you take and after how many lessons did you start to practice only on your own?
Hi Jakub,
For kitesurfing you really need to take lessons as it is a dangerous sport and need to know the safety features en dangers of it.
Hey Stijn! Lekker gedaan gozer, zeker omdat alles geleerd is op een zee spot met golven en stroming! Keep it going!
Zeker niet makkelijk altijd maar maak er het beste van. Zou fijner zijn als ik een lagoon had 😉
nice one
A late millennial or gen-Zr that states he is awesome and really happy with himself. After some yawning, back to watching Kevin Langeree.
To be fair, kevin is a millennial 😂 and i don't state i'm "awesome" but you just did so thanks! Just want to show people what is possible with 1 year and motivate people to go kiting.
Impressive improvements! Great video!! Hey, what mouth mount are you using with your gopro?
Hey man! I'm just using the floater from the gopro 10 and bite on it or the regular mouth mount from gopro.
Hopefully this helps you out 🙌
great job mate! i've been kiting since 2017 but I still learn how to do proper kiteloop :v
Amazing progress! What’s the spot in the video?
It is at Egmond aan zee in the Netherlands 🇳🇱
@@stijnbrandtkitesurfing thanks!
Nice man
👌👌👌🤙 nice inspiration
Hi nice job. Approximately how many days of practice to get there?
“Comparison is the biggest killer of joy” dont know but i just enjoyed the process of learning
So what will be your first trick?
Me: Backroll?
This guy: Kiteloop
you are insane bro :D
Great progression!! Congrats! Nice Video to see 👍. Which Spot is it?
Thats insane!! How did you learn to jump and loop, did you take extra lessons or just experimented. Also, how do you find new stuff to learn cause i had no clue loops were even a thing (I'm a nub so that might be why, but still. Just wondering)
Thanks mate!
Slowly building my skills up. 1st learn to jump, 2nd learn proper technique, get co comfortable with downloops, try it with a transition jump and build the height up from there
Learnt most of the tricks by watching videos and trying/crashing a lot!
How many sessions in 1y?
Congratulations 👏
Too many to count honestly 😅
Thanks!
Great video, I hear you are from the Netherlands (right?), where exactly do you kite?
I'm from the Netherlands indeed! My home spot is called Egmond aan zee 🤙
@@stijnbrandtkitesurfing thanks! got any tips for any Belgian kitespots?
@@Jules1238bla dont know any unfortunately, would love to ride a good spot there tho. I expect the channel between england en belgium as a really good spot for hard eind as it gets channeld, but there will be a lot of current aswell.
If you know any, let me know 😜🙌
Ok, you are young. If you want to make a life out of it later you have to do like this and competitions too. But important is to have a good day and time on the water without only play phone on sofa. No matter how high or how many loop or what number a app tell. Cheers
when im on the water, nobody can stop me from smiling :) im loving every second of it! next video thats coming will show just that!
Thats awesome progression man! Wondering where do you mount your camera?
It is with the mouth mount
Where did you practice mate? How much hours do you think you dedicated?
Did you ride with helmet and impact vest?
my most riden spot is at Egmond aan zee in the Netherlands. i always went kiting when the wind was blowing no matter the conditions so i didn't keep track of amount of kite hours. i do wear a impact vest under my wetsuit just in case. had a couple bad crashes so the ribs.
Lol clicked on this hoping to trace my journey as well but then the second clip is him jumping and im not even there yet 😅
Great job! For context how many days on the water made up the year? Cheers
I don't really know honestly... it was during the start of the pandamic and was able to kite more often.
@@stijnbrandtkitesurfing Sweet! But more than 1 time a week... Please say yes
Insane progression. how many times did you find time to rock? do you live at the shoreline? great video.
hey man! i started before the pandemic, during i had quitte a bit of time but i still needed to travel 3+ hours to get to the spot. i coulc spend the night and then needed to get back another 3+ hours... was a struggle but all worth it
@@stijnbrandtkitesurfing Cheers man. Impressive
Very impressive bro, witch kite do you have?
Thank you! Used to ride woth Gaastra pures '21 but after half a year switched to north orbits
Amazing progression man! Should start filming my own progressing a bit more. You using a chest mount for most of it?
@@stijnbrandtkitesurfing I am from south of France, so a bit far away to come quickly ;) Will send you something when it is clean ! Thanks again
Sheet out half way, not fully because it will drop you a little bit as it wants to get back into the wind window*
@@stijnbrandtkitesurfing Thanks! What’s your feeling with the orbit?
It is a great kite. Me personally, i love it, no other words for it. But if you are looking for a kite you need to try kites yourself abd not go for the kite i like!
Congrats bro, next year competing in the KOTA!!
Lets first try to make it to BAKL 😂
I love it
Leuke video hier ook hard bezig progressie te boeken!
Bedankt! Goed bezig en blijf zo doorgaan!
