You can use certain anchor points for the most common spots so you always know where head level will be when pre aiming these positions. For those who don't know what i mean by anchor points i'll do my best to explain. On every map there will always be the "Most popular" spots for people to funnel through or for people to go towards. When running to get into position instead of blindly guessing where you have to put your crosshair, instead use a visual queue that would be around head level for where you will be pre aiming. if theres a randomly colored block that would be about head level on your way to the spot, place your crosshair there so that when you start pre aiming you will not have to guess if you are slightly above or below target, you will know for certain that your crosshair will be perfect every time. That is what i mean by using anchor points. Every map has them and of course you can have multiples for every map you play, or you can use these anchor points for the most common spots on all maps. This works for every fps game there is and it is extremely useful in being consistent with pre aiming. (Also side note for Destiny 2 specifically) if you know you are playing against very strong pvp players, majority of the time the most optimal way of challenging an angle is to slide, aim and shoot at the sniper or person holding the angle. This is very fast movement and will keep their head from being at the typical pre aim head level. So when playing against better players it is usually a good idea to pre aim lower so you are anticipating the slide, so instead of them getting first shot advantage you will get it instead and either win the fight entirely or force them to reposition and retreat. This also goes for players who like to use icarus. If you are playing and become aware that certain hunters or players like to challenge by using strafe jumps you can pre aim high and anticipate their playstyle. Normally you never want to do this unless you learn that they are commonly doing this through the match. In destiny generally its always best to aim head level, and Slide level. But yeah good luck guys hope Patty's video and maybe even this comment help you get to where you want to be :)
Excellent comment Aron, I agree 100%. At some point I'd like to make a whole video on pre-aiming & map/game awareness. It's probably the most important thing to focus on in order to make major improvements in your ability to play at a high level.

Thanks for the guide! After watching this, I did some testing and realized I was only getting 75 fps even with my 2080ti, which still looked good and smooth in game, but when I did the reticle test, I noticed that it wasn't smooth. Made some adjustments to my graphics and now I'm hitting 115 fps and it's much better. I also went into the game files and turned off the mouse smoothing as I realized the in game setting doesn't work. It made a world of difference in the feel and my cursor feels like it goes where I want it to. While I'm not, nor ever will be, a good PvP player, this did improve my game quite a bit with certain weapons, especially pulse rifles. Even had a couple of really good IB games finally with some of the highest k/d score I've ever had. Now I just need to train myself more and get better at map awareness and pre-aiming.
I started playing on PC 3 years ago. After so much struggle in the first year, with some months of aim hero and bare playing, my aim improved a lot. I preordered Destiny 2 and "finished it" pretty quickly, without playing PvP (basically I got to 320 light and stopped). I developed my aim on other fast paced FPS and TPS games, reaching what I think is a very good level for "just" 3 years of experience and since I don't have many hours a day to play. I started playing Destiny 2 again this year, this time splitting between PvE and PvP. I found many difficulties in PvP. Always good or decent results, but not as much as the other games. This is also the only game I've played where I absolutely can't use the sniper. Then a day, my eyes opened: i've always been used to have a huge lag that I never actually knew what was like to play without. So when I had my very first match without any lag (for reasons that I don't know), I was shocked. I was hitting almost every shot, even with the sniper. No more 4 secs late kills, no more 4 secs late dmg, no more hits not counted. This lasted just a couple of games and made me so angry that I quit and uninstalled the game. For those wondering yes, I did everything listed in Bungie's troubleshooting and even more, trying PPPoE connection and DMZ in router settings. Nothing seems to fix the lag. My connection is not huge, but i can play any game with 30-40 ping. This is the only one so bad and I seriously can't figure how to get out of this situation. Honestly, I still would have needed to improve a lot here, especially with sniper, but I feel like it's not worth to do it if then I'll have to play in such conditions.
My setup at the moment is far from ideal, with my arm having to reach up to the desk my mouse is on and not having enough room on said desk for a large mat. I'd like to think I'm doing alright with what limitations I've been presented with, but I don't want to develop bad habits because of it either. The points you cover in this video have made me seriously consider how I can improve my setup to perform more optimally. Thanks for sharing the wisdom!
Thanks for the kind words :) I would definitely recommend you put some time into developing the best setup you can. Pro CSGO teams actually measure heights of tables, chairs, monitors, etc to make sure their practice and LAN setups are exactly the same. Every little adjustment can make a difference!
I want to switch so bad but the two things that hold me back are not having any one to play with and having to learn my skills all over again but this video did encourage me to try to start I will continue looking at content like this to help me improve content creators like you are what I like to see good luck to you
Additionally to your nice video I also learned something helpful for me recently! And that's to "look"/focus on the enemy when not sniping/long range instead of looking at the crosshair.
YOURE A LIFE SAVER, thank you thank you thank you!!!! This helped out so much and I even changed my sensitivity to match yours,,,,, instead of 5 for in game sensitivity I have it at 10. But besides that it’s all the same. THANK YOU
Great video, i recently learned about the mouse acceleration and turned it off and im suddenly getting better shots in pvp! I play at about 1200dpi and that seems to be perfect for me, now i just need to practice practice! Thanks for the tips!
Really great Video, but bad recommendations for Kovaak's Maps. I'd never recommend Tile Frenzy (the standart one) is the worst you could possibly play to improve, i feel like it's just there to benchmark your speed, since targets are never tending to be standing still. So do Tile Frenzy - 01 or faster instead, it's the same just that targets are moving. I highly recommend Aimer7's Guide on this topic, very detailed and trust me the training pays off if you're dedicated enough. Anyways, great Video!
Thanks I actually have changed what I recommend quite a bit since I created this video. I ended up going through the AIMER7 kovaaks guide and now recommend people do the same - I think it's much more helpful. I have a more recent video about that too :)

Great help, looking forward to putting all of your suggestions into practice. Definitely learning my weaknesses already by using KovaaK! This video = 100% sub from me today. Quality content.
G- Sync and Free Sync does not add any input delay, only V-sync does. playing at high sensitivity with a mouse that has low lift of distance is definitely need, for example the Logitech G Pro has very low lift of distance, so to compensate you'll need to play at high DPI or high in game sensitivity, Razor and Corsair has High lift of distance, so playing at lower sensitivity feels awesome, keep this in mind this is only for wrist users, i feel like i have alot more control with my Aim when using a high lift of distance mouse, as i like to lift the mouse off the mat, i haven't tested the Glorious Model O, so i have no idea what lift of distance it has, but yes a lighter mouse is always better for your aim. Graphics settings like Deep of field must be off for FPS games as it as a blur, so does motion blur, so i'd recommend taking them off, using the new Low Latensity from Nvidia helps reduce input delay, or Anti lag from Amd.
My understanding is that if you cap your FPS to just a bit under your monitor refresh rate with Gsync it minimizes the input delay (so for 144hz drop it to 138-140 capped or so), although there's still a bit more than having it turned off.
@@PattycakesGaming No capping below the monitors refresh rate insures you don't get screen tearing, so for G-sync you can cap to 142 fps, for a 144hz monitor, but if the monitor is G-sync compatible, you'll have to go a bit lower at 138 fps, or you get screen tearing at the bottom off the screen, because it's using software, not hardware like G-sync, so if you have a Amd GPU with a free sync monitor you can cap the fps to 142 once the monitor is 144hz.
Awesome video and yeah Model D is 100% clone of zowie but lighter I absolutely love it having Model Of and O- and I agree that I can't get used to the shape of G pro wireless but the biggest issue I had was the mouse feet.
The one thing I wish *someone* in gaming peripherals would do is finally make a small gaming mouse. In the gaming world, even the absolute smallest gaming mouse made is bigger than an average general desktop use mouse. It's kind of frustrating. Also, good video as usual Pattycakes. :)

@@PattycakesGaming so you're around my age sorry man i assumed you're in your 20s from your voice but any i did not mean any disrespect by that it was just an expression
Since Destiny 2 use direct input from mouse, any Windows settings makes zero impact on game. Only in-game sensitivity and DPI have impact. Also hardware sync makes no input lag whatsoever, as far as I know how it ever works. Software sync (vsync) can do some input lag though.
I have seen mixed results from people reporting either way on the raw input thing. I turn it off in windows either way since I figure it makes sense to be comfortable with no acceleration globally. As for the sync, you have to reduce your frames to less than your monitors refresh rate to not create extra input lag. However I don't like doing this because there's evidence that having FPS above your monitors refresh rate is helpful (reference the linus tech tips video with shround on 300FPS 60Hz monitor)
Tip to improve aim in every game: Make sure the distance that your mouse must travel to make a 180 turn is the same For example, in Team Fortress 2 my sensb is 1,8(800 DPI) , but in Destiny 2 is 6 (800 DPI too) Both require 11,5cm to make a 180 degree turn Also try low to low-mediums sensivities
I've been on pc for 3 or 4 months now. It's so hard trying to aim with handcannons and snipers, specially when they be crouch spamming. I've been a console player my whole life, and it's difficult trying to improve my aim with handcannons and snipers on pvp, but with more practice I'll get better soon
I have a Logitech G502 hero wired. It has a really nice shape that fits the hand and it also has weights to put in or take out depending on what you like. I usually run max weight, but after watching this, I think I’m gonna give no weights a go and see how it feels.
Very helpful @pattycakes. I went from console Xbox to pc back in 2020 and then my pc caught fire I have had 3 ASUS gaming republics laptops all bad graphics cards so I had to go back to console and now I recently got money to buy new pc and am having to re learn m&k back in 2020 I got familiar but aiming with mouse I still got a long way to go this video is eye opening though and I can’t wait to practice
True but in order to do so you have to drop your FPS to below your monitor refresh rate, which isn't necessarily a good thing to do unless you have a 240hz monitor
Awesome vid! this will help me with get out of my years of MMO habits where crit has been related to gear stats & not aiming... Tho now I'm really sad I'm way to cemented into my Razor Naga ('cause one-handed game play is essential when no one is there to hold my beer while I do crazy stupid stuff >.>) But now I'm so gonna be tweaking it's settings and checking out those aim practice programs on steam that I didn't even know existed so thank yous!

couple of questions :D 1) What resolution do you play ? Do you think ultrawide require higher sense ? I am finding ultra wide aspect ration and resolution better for me because they give you a higher fov (105 is around 115) which is limited in D2. 2) What is you mouse and its weight ? is it one of those in the video ? I am thinking of replacing my 96g Steelseries Rival 600 with one that is around ~75g. What do you think ? 3) What distance do you play from monitor. I find distance to be affecting my mouse sens + vision a lot. At 80cm I find even 24inches monitor slightly big for my taste. 4) Is your sense with 10 modifier ? if yes why would you recommend it ? So that you build muscle memory even when not adsing ? I am 10 sens 5 mod and I find it hard to run around if I switch to 5 sens 10 mod. I would appreciate it if you answered, I future purchases depend on it :D
Funny enough, I use the G502 with all the extra weights added in, I just prefer the mouse feeling like its grounded, and not super light to fly all over the place.
Is this the part 2? I'm on ps4.. but you're right, crosshair placement & map awareness are key. My issue is learning the new maps, and figuring out best snipe rolls, etc. 🤦🏻♀️
I’ve always played at a higher sensitivity because it’s harder for me to move my wrists, idk why I just like heavy mice and high sensitivity. I barely move my hand when I’m in pvp lol Idk if that’s being lazy or what but I’ll try out your settings
For aim training I play osu!. There's a version on steam called McOsu! that has a fps mode and I find osu! to be way more engaging than aim trainers. It's not for everyone though, but I find it to be super fun

@@PattycakesGaming hey you should make a clan for subs! I follow heaps d2 content guys but you're the only one I could see doing something that great! If you get a clan going I'd love to join as mine has gone onto different games. Thanks in advance
Great content - I am curious have you made a video discussing keybinds and their effect on aim? I am trying to move away from a G600 MMO mouse to a FPS mouse to improve my FPS aiming skills, so I have a better grip and don't move my thumb around so much pressing all the convenient keybinds I have there... but I'm curious what keybinds you DO put on your mouse and why.
I feel like in a lot of FPS games my aim is spot on. But the biggest challenge is a sniper. I love to use a sniper in PVP for destiny, and I'd say I do get kills with it. But do I get them often? Inconsistent. Do I get a lot of headshots often? No. Every other type of gun my aim is on point but I don't know how to improve with a sniper. Snipers are the vain of my existence in every FPS game...
It just requires a lot of practice. I'd suggest using snipers as much as you can in PvE, spend an hour a day in the EDZ trying to hit flick shots onto dregs and little enemies. It will help translate to PvP, but the real gains will come from just using one in PvP and practicing as much as you can. Also study top players and watch their pre-aiming tendencies. Pre-aiming skill is most important with a sniper.
Hey, this is a really great video. I’ve set my DPI to 500 as I don’t exactly have an abundance of space, but can make do with it fairly low. Regarding when you mentioned your sensitivity being 7, what is your ADS modifier set to? Cheers :)
Nice VOD :). Is there a review of the Model D? Difficult to find a good light mouse for my 20 cm hand :/. I´m testing the G Pro Wireless at the moment but it feels a little bit small for me.
@@PattycakesGaming I´m coming from the g403 wired and wireless is really nice that is true. Maybe i need some time to get in love with the G Pro Wireless ^^. At the moment it feels that my hand is to big for this mouse. Do you still using the G Pro Wireless and how big are your hand?
It's a great mouse and I own the wired and wireless versions, but I think it's a bit too heavy for FPS games personally. I love it for general use and MMOs
@@PattycakesGaming But if i don't have a lightweight mouse, is the G502 (no added weight) okay then? Btw thx for a amazing guide you deserve more subs 🙏
omg i was holding the mouse in the different shapes (cause i normally use claw) and i saw the titan jump to the side at like 13:00 and i flicked across and realized it was a youtube video.
If a person is used to a set up, do you recommend changing to proven methods? Or practicing with what you've got? For example, I've played with a Logitech G602 for years, and about 2000 dpi. I like my settings and will certainly be uncomfortable no matter what changes I make, but maybe they are actually holding me back.
idk if this is useful but i also play osu to warm up my wrist sometimes i play it at like 200 dpi so i really have to everything moving. it's also nice cause there's a lot going on and I feel like it helps w/ getting my brain rdy to track a lot of information coming in.
i often find myself with my wrist on the mousepad and it just feels so heavy, so i only end up moving my wrist. when i try to use my elbow and shoulder, it's such a massive effort to have my hand lifted at all times.
Actually, I can't agree with your recommendation for light mice. Both arms and wrists are strong enough to move any mouse properly, cuz there is no gaming mouse like 5 times heavier than the others. I believe the mouse weight is just an area for personal preferences. BTW, thank you for your good videos. It helps me to get better aiming and PVP skills.
what is your average FPS in game? do you run a 1080p or 1440p monitor? i’m really glad i stumbled upon your channel as a new PC player from console. thanks for sharing!
my mouse grip is like l-palm grip but instead of using the bottom the it i use the top part with my ring and pinky on the right side wihth my thumb on the left and leaving my middle and index finger on the clickers

@@PattycakesGaming I'll definitely take that into consideration as I re-adjust my setup! Thanks again!
I want to switch so bad but the two things that hold me back are not having any one to play with and having to learn my skills all over again but this video did encourage me to try to start I will continue looking at content like this to help me improve content creators like you are what I like to see good luck to you
Give it a shot in low stakes stuff like PvE. I think you’ll really enjoy it :)
10/10 video. I've been debating whether or not my mouse may be an issue because it's heavier than most and now I'm certain it is.
Guys aimtrainers will give you real results, most beneficial for me for sure
Hey man! Top notch content! Looking forward to more vids like this!
Thank you! Anything specific you’d like to see me cover?
Additionally to your nice video I also learned something helpful for me recently! And that's to "look"/focus on the enemy when not sniping/long range instead of looking at the crosshair.
YOURE A LIFE SAVER, thank you thank you thank you!!!! This helped out so much and I even changed my sensitivity to match yours,,,,, instead of 5 for in game sensitivity I have it at 10. But besides that it’s all the same. THANK YOU
Glad you found it helpful :)
What dpi? My mouse can go from 250 to 2,500
Pavedog 4 life I use 800
Pattycakes Gaming ok. Ty. Great video! Just started playing m&k on stadia Bc I am getting together the stuff for a pc
Great tips man, best video I've found about it out there! Thank you! Keep up the great work!
Thank you :)
Great video, i recently learned about the mouse acceleration and turned it off and im suddenly getting better shots in pvp! I play at about 1200dpi and that seems to be perfect for me, now i just need to practice practice! Thanks for the tips!
Awesome video patty like always!
Coming from console to PC this video was a big help. Thanks.

Haha thanks! I'm getting older too and trying to keep up with these 18 year old gaming prodigies is tough :)

I just got a razer viper mini which I was planning to get a while ago but they went out of stock and I can really tell the weight difference as before I was using a much heavier mouse and my aim wasn't the best and now with my new mouse I'm tapping heads like I've never done before I'll share this vid to my froe ds as they're making the transition to pc and this vids very helpful keep up the work :D
Welcome to the land of light mice :)
Just watched this; great video and thanks for the tips you provided within it!

Great video, building my first pc this week and this will come in handy as I'm really trying to elevate my game in destiny 2 to no longer being average and becoming a really proficient player. I got a long way to go but your video(s) seem like a good starting point. Subbed!
Thanks! Good luck on the PC build :)
I'm actually building a new one this week as well, and may stream it on Twitch if I can get a decent camera setup going
Thank you very much for videos like these. I can see better results.

would love to see a new video showing settings for Kovaak's newest version, love this video and has helped me tremendously, want to improve even more
G- Sync and Free Sync does not add any input delay, only V-sync does. playing at high sensitivity with a mouse that has low lift of distance is definitely need, for example the Logitech G Pro has very low lift of distance, so to compensate you'll need to play at high DPI or high in game sensitivity, Razor and Corsair has High lift of distance, so playing at lower sensitivity feels awesome, keep this in mind this is only for wrist users, i feel like i have alot more control with my Aim when using a high lift of distance mouse, as i like to lift the mouse off the mat, i haven't tested the Glorious Model O, so i have no idea what lift of distance it has, but yes a lighter mouse is always better for your aim.
Nice work and nice video dude :)
Thank you :)
I would love to see a General gamesense help tutorial
Yeah that's something I'd like to create, it's just such a huge topic
Awesome video and yeah Model D is 100% clone of zowie but lighter I absolutely love it having Model Of and O- and I agree that I can't get used to the shape of G pro wireless but the biggest issue I had was the mouse feet.
I love the Model D, it's amazing :)
The one thing I wish *someone* in gaming peripherals would do is finally make a small gaming mouse. In the gaming world, even the absolute smallest gaming mouse made is bigger than an average general desktop use mouse. It's kind of frustrating. Also, good video as usual Pattycakes. :)

@@ThEKeeYs Haha yeah all good, no offense taken :)
This video is really good and helpful thank you 🙏
Awesome :)
Tip to improve aim in every game:
Make sure the distance that your mouse must travel to make a 180 turn is the same
For example, in Team Fortress 2 my sensb is 1,8(800 DPI) , but in Destiny 2 is 6
(800 DPI too)
Both require 11,5cm to make a 180 degree turn
Also try low to low-mediums sensivities
Excellent!! Subbed and liked....keep ot up!!!
I'm late to game as far as when this was published but great video.
Thanks!
I would definitely recommend taking the weights out and see how it feels :)
Awesome guide. Very helpful
Ty for very good tips, appriciated!
Very informative, I'll pop in for a visit sometime on twitch!
great video, I would just add that gsync does not add a lot of input lag unless set up incorrectly.
Be sure to check out the #aim-challenge channel of my discord :)
@@PattycakesGaming oh yes! I so do need to get into some discord channels which I haven't done yet for D2 due to being so focused on learning the basics the last month or so; like not falling to my death all the time lol... I'll be sure to check out yours \o/
couple of questions :D
1) What resolution do you play ?
Excellent Video Patty
Thanks :)
Great video!
Is this the part 2? I'm on ps4.. but you're right, crosshair placement & map awareness are key. My issue is learning the new maps, and figuring out best snipe rolls, etc. 🤦🏻♀️

very helpful, ty
I have the model o and i love it, i might try the D tho
It's a great mouse
I’ve always played at a higher sensitivity because it’s harder for me to move my wrists, idk why I just like heavy mice and high sensitivity. I barely move my hand when I’m in pvp lol Idk if that’s being lazy or what but I’ll try out your settings
For aim training I play osu!. There's a version on steam called McOsu! that has a fps mode and I find osu! to be way more engaging than aim trainers. It's not for everyone though, but I find it to be super fun
My aim/movement/game sense training is sponsored by 607 hours of CSGO deathmatch.
I really enjoy your videos
One of these I might just be decent. Love the vids
You should do a review on the Glorious Model O wireless
I use 1600 with 2 atm, i use my arm to turn and wrist to aim, so i use my arm for bigger moves like a 90 degree flick, and wrist for accuracy.
I'm using this to practice for trials in a week
People are normally one or the other when it comes to flicking and tracking.
Me who can't do both: I see, but I cannot do.
Will try to improve as much as I can

Great content - I am curious have you made a video discussing keybinds and their effect on aim? I am trying to move away from a G600 MMO mouse to a FPS mouse to improve my FPS aiming skills, so I have a better grip and don't move my thumb around so much pressing all the convenient keybinds I have there... but I'm curious what keybinds you DO put on your mouse and why.
That's actually an idea I've been thinking about recently - I'll move it up on my list :)
I would recomend the razer viper mini its not actually small its cheap and amazing
I honestly wish they had something like those aim games for console
It would be cool, but difficult since console relies so heavily on reticle stickiness which varies a ton from game to game
Thank you
I feel like in a lot of FPS games my aim is spot on.
Go Patty go baby
Hey, this is a really great video. I’ve set my DPI to 500 as I don’t exactly have an abundance of space, but can make do with it fairly low. Regarding when you mentioned your sensitivity being 7, what is your ADS modifier set to? Cheers :)
I use an ADS modifier of 10 right now (old 1.0)
@@PattycakesGaming So DPI set to 800, in game sens of 5 with the 10 modifier? Gotcha, I'll give it a go. Cheers!

Nice VOD :). Is there a review of the Model D? Difficult to find a good light mouse for my 20 cm hand :/. I´m testing the G Pro Wireless at the moment but it feels a little bit small for me.
The model D is nice! I used it for a few months and enjoyed it, I just prefer wireless
@@PattycakesGaming I´m coming from the g403 wired and wireless is really nice that is true. Maybe i need some time to get in love with the G Pro Wireless ^^. At the moment it feels that my hand is to big for this mouse. Do you still using the G Pro Wireless and how big are your hand?
thanks
What about the g502
It's a great mouse and I own the wired and wireless versions, but I think it's a bit too heavy for FPS games personally. I love it for general use and MMOs
@@PattycakesGaming But if i don't have a lightweight mouse, is the G502 (no added weight) okay then? Btw thx for a amazing guide you deserve more subs 🙏
Cool..thx.new sub
omg i was holding the mouse in the different shapes (cause i normally use claw) and i saw the titan jump to the side at like 13:00 and i flicked across and realized it was a youtube video.
I turned my mouse acceleration off yesterday after watching one of your other videos. 3 months learning MnK wasted LOL
Haha you'll adjust quickly and be way more consistent :)
I have a slight drag with my forearm on the mousepad usually. I don't try to hover it
Aim Lab is also a great aim trainer for free on steam
It's good, but kovakks is probably better cause it has way more scenarios
But hey it's free
Actually, I can't agree with your recommendation for light mice. Both arms and wrists are strong enough to move any mouse properly, cuz there is no gaming mouse like 5 times heavier than the others. I believe the mouse weight is just an area for personal preferences.
BTW, thank you for your good videos. It helps me to get better aiming and PVP skills.
