i have to say, the sheer experience of uncut unedited space exploration, this game set a gold standard even at the beginning. 7 years today, other space exploration games like starfield can’t match this level of immersion. from getting into your ship, launching off the planet, breaking the atmosphere, landing on a space port or another planet, its 100% seamless. and these other triple A studios just can’t get that level of simulation right. you can’t truly reach this kind of immersion by hiding behind cut-scene loading.
I just picked up NMS for $24 as a way for my buddy and I to have a game to play together with no stress. It's amazing just chatting it up while we fly around a solar system and explore planets. I'm hooked!
I would like to add, When i was traveling from space station to a planet i went through a debris/asteroid belt and i saw another NPC ship mining materials....i thought thats a cool mechanic...it made the game feel alive. Oh and i even caught a small moment where a spaceship randomly landed on a planet infront of me and its pilot got out and i could trade with the piolt like they do in space stations
I started playing the game two days ago and I am glued in , since I played galaxy on fire , I was always looking for something top teir and this game is top tier, I cannot wait to see what else they can do with it
On God bro that's the whole reason why I refuse to play or pay for Starfield. Whole ass space game came out 7 years after NMS but has no seamless space to planet ganeplay.
@@AverageGameReviews Yep, all the stars in NMS follow their spectral class as in astronomy - except for one: there are no actual green stars, so the “E” spectral class is made up.
@@Galloway17 Yeah, including green stars was a weird choice considering Hello Games went to the trouble of learning the proper spectral classifications.

As someone with more than 200h of playtime (in nms) I can confidently say, that this is a good video. But maybe you could have mentioned one of the best money making methods: selling illegal goods in normal space stations. You either buy illegal goods in pirate stations or farm the freighters in the pirate systems (you can do a Mission in the pirate station for a forged passport to reset your reputation). After that you can telport to a base and than to a normal spacestation. Now you can sell the illegal goods for a big profit. (Sorry for my bad English)
An even easier way to get nanites is to get the mining extractors. Set up two bases, one for gold and one for silver. Combine gold and silver in a two slot refiner and it makes platinum. Refine platinum on it's own and it makes nanite clusters.
Alternately: find a planet with runaway mold. Set up base, if you want build some kind of funnel around them and „mine“ them. The mold refines directly to nanites. If you look enough, you can find a spot to build a base with two runaway mold clusters so you can set up teleporters between them, which makes the other respawn. The molds refine very fast, so you could get thousands of nanites in minutes.
@@mickypain2959This is exactly the setup I have going. I have a base placed next to a bunch of runaway mold, with another group *just* far enough away to cause the first group to respawn. I jetpack back and forth picking up enough runaway mold to fill a whole row of slots in my exosuit, then let it refine in my backpack while I'm out doing other stuff. The mold doesn't refine *that* fast (at least not compared to some other items), but I'm cool with that since it's something that mostly happens in the background while I do other stuff. The only tricky part is remembering to refuel the backpack refiner every so often. This game is really good at keeping me distracted. Needless to say, nanites are rarely an issue with a setup like that. Which is extra nice when I find a cool ship/multitool with well placed supercharged slots, but which needs upgrading from a lower class up to S. Those upgrades are expensive!

the thing is... there is an exploit with wiring loom with which you can generate insane amounts of money just by hopping systems.... and everytime you do your profit increases.... and its pretty simple.... you just have to get a good ammount of wiring loom, a few houndred should be enough to start making profit.... then you just sell them when getting to a new system which will add them to the inventory of the trade station there but also decrease their price percentages by a lot, so you can buy all of them back for very cheap keeping some of the money you made from selling them. My buddy and me generated insane ammounts (over a billion units) in under a few hours, where the only thing slowing us down was, that the teleportation animation between station s sometimes looped forever so that we had to restart the game.... I’m a noob in NMS as I only have like 20h in the game, but one stupidly easy way of making money that I haven’t seen recommended online is by selling storm crystals. Idk if I was lucky or if I’m stupid selling them, but I’ve stumbled into a radioactive planet quite soon and randomly realized that if there is storm you can gather these crystals very easily with the help of a rover. In half an hour I made like 40 millions! Probably there are faster ways but for me it worked out pretty easy, I built a small base there and whenever I need money I can go back and make millions very quickly
Not good😂 I thought to do it too(selling storm cristal) but I see I will need it to upgrade or crafting staff, you can get material that contains gas or just sell scrap metal that you can find on every damaged ship part at planets, one more useful trick is flying across of planets or systems and find wanted ships, and it's making good money, but how I see it's a bit risky but you can find new ship every time or just fix it and it's more experience, if I took your time for this😂 just have fun
a red looking star is in fact not always a red star. I warped repeatedly to the reddest of red stars on the galaxy map only to somehow end up in yellow star systems. you only need to look for the K/M
I built the level in the sky close to leaving the atmosphere, I use this by making tons of stairs going From the ground into the sky, then you set platforms in the sky and start building your base. But you have to put the base computer on the ground right below it. Then put a teleporter from the ground up to the base in case you fall down. You can even set up a different base with a different teleporter in the same area.
Use the economy scanner to find trade surges when you want to do buying/selling from stations. I went from 30m. To about 170m. In like 45 minutes of gameplay. The more you make, the more you.can spend, and the more you spend the more you make. Just make sure you are buying and selling in the right systems with proper demands (economy scanner does most of the work)
@@alex-nq9xd Think of each star as a strength instead of a color. Yellow is one, red is two, green is three, and blue is four. Having a regular warp drive is just having strength one. If you have the cadmium drive booster, you've boosted your warp drive strength to two allowing you access to one and two. If you remove it and replace it with the emeril drive, the warp drive is now strength three, giving you access to one, two, and three. Replace that with the indium drive, it's now strength four giving you access to all four star types. Does that help?
Little correction in the video u said settlements were added in waypoint they were added back in 2021 when frontiers released when waypoint was released in 2022. Great video as always 😊
Well the old dupe glitch works. Place portable refiner down, place item inside. Place another portable refiner hologram inside first portable refiner, as close to matching its position as possible. At least carry 5 of them. Say you have 100 gold. 5 gets 500, then 2,500, then five of those gets 12,500 etc.
If u press A or Q(for qwerty) for melee and jump in the same time u can speed boost and get an crazy amount of speed easily increasing everytime u touch the floor
Great vid, very interesting even for a long-time player. I got around 1400 hours total and still learn things I didn't know or never saw before. I had no idea the black holes took you in a spiral route. I can't agree 100% that the black holes always take you closer to the core, cus I have ended up way farther away than where I started. I think its random, or at least... some are. I never paid attention to where I was sent when I get that Wormhole Gate that pops up as a random anomaly when pulsing across a system.
great vid. i know everyone properly knows this . but i found out by accident that if you have a base in two different galaxy's you can jump between them . i only found this as i noticed i was back in the starter galaxy while driving around..
I play it all in vr now but I first played through lockdown and the game is very helpful if you listen to tips, you pick it up really fast and UA-cam is always here
I recently did the Omega Expedition and it walks you through all of the main features at a good pace, while giving you blueprints and other things you need to learn. I would suggest doing the next Expedition if you want a guided tour that you can keep all the things you build/learn/earn doing it.
I earn my first 50 000 000 by just buying and seling scrap ships in one station. After about a half an hour. And have from that good amount of technology and nanites
Here's a combat tip: Fly backwards! It's like being a tail gunner. The advantage is the enemy comes to you instead of you trying to out-turn HIM. And your ship will try to auto-turn towards the enemy as you fly. Also - all three weapon types for a quick kill. Start with Cyclotron Ballistas to knock down his shields then switch to rockets which destroys about 90% of the hull integrity. Immediately after the rockets go to your beam weapon to finish him off. When you can, get whatever weapon upgrades you can buy in the space stations. They help a lot.
i dip in and out of nms since 2020. it's the greatest turnaround of a game in recent memory. are space dogfights worth it now? you used to be able to just remain stationary and shoot as they approached lol
Space dog fights are great fun now! With the recent update, you can even choose to divert power to your weapons, shields or engines depending on your situation!
If you max out your ship, they are still pretty easy, the sentinel flagship is far too easy l, you can ignore the fighters and just cruise around it taking it out, hopefully they update the fighter AI so that they protect the flagship.
I've been playing for a few weeks and totally missed that I unlocked exocrafts. Holy crap "We all know what Exocraft are and how they work" XD I do now!
I found a settlement in a paradise world (blue sky and water with green grass and rocks and sand) and the settlement is inside a grass valley and right next to it is the big tower trade outpost on a mountain
Nms money making tip, illegal goods are a good start but once you get some cash start buying the trade goods in each system. You can then fly to another system that needs those parts and sell them for a much higher price. I used to fill up my freighter before I’d go sell and I’d bring in anywhere from 50-100mil at a time.
my quickest buck would be selling Interceptor ships found on dissonant systems they fetch around 20mil - 40mil units per interceptor, you would only need to: -get your hands on a carrier AI Fragment -find the ship then do the fetch quest -complete the ship then sell
I know this vid is old but, a quick way I got units was by getting in the Minotaur or the aqua car or whatever it's called, and search for downed aircraft. I would get one, have it scraped and then sell the metal for high dollar. I got to the hundreds of millions with 2 ships! No joke. And no mods.
I still like Starfield. Haven’t played it in a while. It’s not as good as NMS but it’s also a totally different type of game. NMS is more about adventure and exploration, Starfield is more about story, choice, and discovery.
I found the best way to make fast money was to set the difficulty down to "Free" then go to a spaceport and buy all the ships that land, set the difficulty to "Expensive" then salvage and sell all the ships you bought for double what you paid. Can make a quick billion doing this as the ships just keep coming.
Similar thing happened to me, a guy in the nexus filled my inventory (ship too) with the most valuable item in the game. Turned out I was not able to sell all of the due to money limit
I am going to be a returning player starting fresh. Played and wrapped it before the land machines and mech released. Seems like there is so much more got to say I'm excited. Any recommended discords or anything of the sort to find gamers to game it with. Kinda gets lonley in the vast space alone haha.

If so then ima get me a really nice ship then change it back 😌 😂👏👏
dont forget you can move settlements to a better system, if you wnat to change you just need the map, then find your perfect world run the map then you can pay to move your settlements
to activate the map, the mp is only ctive when you select it so sy you have a settlement on a extreme world, , if you go to your perfect planet a paradise world with the a settlement map, you can activate it, run it, and it will search for a settlement on that planet, the go thre, it will sy do you ant to move settlements and you need some items to trade to them@@helldiego
Why do the planets look so freaking small? Is it so that people will be encouraged to do space travel and look for other planets? I think Star Citizen gets this part of the space simulation correct. Planet scaling looks pretty inaccurate in NMS :(
There are everything from somewhat small planets to gigantic ones. Remember there are moons and they are not so big, more like our moon or larger. The size of nms is 64 bit so huge it would take hundreds of billions years to visit them all.

they need to putout a fix asap, i have had this amazing game on switch for 2 and a half months and play it frequently with zero issues, but today, it crashes constantly ! they need to fix this, the latest update has made it super buggy, and same issues are being reported for games on nintendo, PC, xbox, and ps5. this game needs to be fixed because its been so great and all of a sudden, with this last couple of updates its not functional.
If you want a guided story with stronger RPG elements but a less developed universe and gaming elements, get Starfield. But if you want to play in a sci-fi setting where you truly can explore, build, and develop your world around you, get NMS. NMS is better at letting you do most of the things you'd want to do in a Sci-fi setting, to be honest. But sometimes having that guided storyline in RPG-fashion is fun, also. I think you'll get far more game time out of NMS if that's what you're seeking.

How is this? I cant find an answer lol
Damn, if this is true that'd be the "secret" if the month! Am gonna check this out ASAP
I thought thats logical, even when i first played, when i got the second engine upgrade, i disassembled the first one and so on
Little correction in the video u said settlements were added in waypoint they were added back in 2021 when frontiers released when waypoint was released in 2022. Great video as always 😊
Yes you are absolutely correct!
Glad you enjoyed the video :)
I used a black hole 2 nights ago and it took me 1.5 Million light years away it’s crazy how big the game is
Thank you for mentioning ByteBeat
8:00 or just open build menu, aim for computer and press "change color" key :)
damn that sounds a lot easier
I really want to start playing NMS but it looks intimidating af
It can be tricky when you very first start out, but it's worth it!
Between UA-cam guides and the Wiki, you'll manage fine!
It up to you how you play. It’s a super chill game just gotta give it time. The more you play the better it gets
I play it all in vr now but I first played through lockdown and the game is very helpful if you listen to tips, you pick it up really fast and UA-cam is always here
@Bigcheez999 intimidating sure. Worth the experience, from the fps games we have this game, can be played like mine craft.
Great video, thank you. I'm actually saving it to go back to later because I won't remember it all!
The faint trade lines is a really cool feature!!
Extremely underrated video. Super helpful thank you!
Great to hear!
i dip in and out of nms since 2020. it's the greatest turnaround of a game in recent memory.
are space dogfights worth it now? you used to be able to just remain stationary and shoot as they approached lol
Holy crap
"We all know what Exocraft are and how they work" XD I do now!
You can jump on to space stations.
You can jump from a freighter to freighter.
You can jump frieghter to frigate or reverse pathed.
my quickest buck would be selling Interceptor ships found on dissonant systems they fetch around 20mil - 40mil units per interceptor,
you would only need to:
-get your hands on a carrier AI Fragment
-find the ship then do the fetch quest
-complete the ship then sell
I know this vid is old but, a quick way I got units was by getting in the Minotaur or the aqua car or whatever it's called, and search for downed aircraft. I would get one, have it scraped and then sell the metal for high dollar. I got to the hundreds of millions with 2 ships! No joke. And no mods.
Sentinel ships usually have pretty crazy scrap value regardless of class, was my main money making method for a while
after working on abelton all day that music production box thing is actually not too far off, just very simplified
It's a weirdly well developed feature for something that many players won't even touch...
@@AverageGameReviews I didn't even know about it until your video, so thank you lol
I haven't played this in about 3 years and it looks like a totally new game!
It is!
imagine being starfield lmfao
Starfield ? Fuck Starfield.
I still like Starfield. Haven’t played it in a while. It’s not as good as NMS but it’s also a totally different type of game. NMS is more about adventure and exploration, Starfield is more about story, choice, and discovery.
This game is impossible to 100% compleet because that means you need to explore every planet and before that happens the sun will die out irl
It was never planned to be fully explored from what I read.
Bro I 100% completed it last week it was easy
4:06 actually the settlements came in the frontier update
I'm 100 hours in and it still feels like I've barely scratched the surface. Some cool info in this vid. I'll try it out next time I jump in the VR
I need to learn using that egg/dna splicer thingy in the anomaly
Game is 50% off every 2 months
Lol it’s on the game pass my dude
@@ryanmillar1726 don’t play Xbox but cool
You can also get it from instant gaming for $18 and some change. That’s how I got it
İ have found pirate space station and it really amazed me also you can make lots of money from it
All of this tips are top tier explorer class! Thanks for sharing.
I found the best way to make fast money was to set the difficulty down to "Free" then go to a spaceport and buy all the ships that land, set the difficulty to "Expensive" then salvage and sell all the ships you bought for double what you paid. Can make a quick billion doing this as the ships just keep coming.
i was in the nexus on a new survival world, and a guy gave me scrap that i only sold for what, like 900 million units. That guy was generous
Similar thing happened to me, a guy in the nexus filled my inventory (ship too) with the most valuable item in the game. Turned out I was not able to sell all of the due to money limit
jesus im overwhelmed getting this in 2024 with allthe updates etc - you can make beats?!
Ngl prob the best you didn't know type video I've ever seen for this game. Peak quality.
I am going to be a returning player starting fresh. Played and wrapped it before the land machines and mech released. Seems like there is so much more got to say I'm excited. Any recommended discords or anything of the sort to find gamers to game it with. Kinda gets lonley in the vast space alone haha.
It aint lonely when you visit the space anomaly. Every time I go there, it is packed with other travelers milling about doing their business.
damn 70 hours in, didnt know u could make air bases like that..definitely gonna try if i find a new paradise planet.
also didnt know what those lines meant :O
and what the words on the stars meant..i accidentally jumped from a green star to a green star thinking it was a yellow star :/
I layed the game down about a year ago. Got overwhelmed not gonna lie. So i re-download it yesterday. Had no clue where I was or what i was doing. Played around with the settings. Now i can purchase any ship or ANYTHING for free..had no clue could do that. Took probably alot of fun out of the game by doing that. Buuuut im looking forward to having a free exotic ship. If i ever figure out wtf im doing 😂
Sounds like someone found the difficulty parameters!
@@AverageGameReviews I did lol literally not but a few hours ago. I think I went to far and changed to many settings. I should probably just change a few. So there's still a challenge or even a point to everything. But what will it do if I use these settings?? Only keep me from getting an achievement?? If so then ima get me a really nice ship then change it back 😌 😂👏👏
Upvote on the line to outpost....had no idea. Now can start ship hunting faster. Time to build fastest fighter possible.
just now coming back to this game and enjoying it, and i used to be a music producer..that bytebeat thing seems cool
My first black hole sent me over 1 million LY’s away. I was shocked
And you can be right in this world with psvr2, it’s mind blowing
For fast and passive money build an active-indium-farm and it will produce millions of units a day
how?
Discovering a 4th Race was pretty crazy .
hmm seems i better go back to the planet where i found the unicorn raptors... would be fun with a 600foot version
imagine making an aircraft carrier type base sky base one
Fantastic video. dont know why more people don't have these tips
dont forget you can move settlements to a better system, if you wnat to change you just need the map, then find your perfect world run the map then you can pay to move your settlements
how? what is @run the map@
to activate the map, the mp is only ctive when you select it so sy you have a settlement on a extreme world, , if you go to your perfect planet a paradise world with the a settlement map, you can activate it, run it, and it will search for a settlement on that planet, the go thre, it will sy do you ant to move settlements and you need some items to trade to them@@helldiego
@@Topper_Harley68 Would you call the planet in this video a large one?
Thank you
This game is so big holy
Whoa, So self-deprecating. U won my subscription and like. Will Definitely look into your other No Man's Sky content. Very informative. By the way, this is the year. Not much longer to wait or ponder. I also am falling short on many things. I'm just leaving it in the hands of Him who is Holy and Perfect. Peace.
You can use restore when in a player made hole to teleport to the surface
“With 0 being the hottest, because Hello Games are intuitive fuckers”😂😂 Golden
Ive just started playing this again after a long break, i cant believe how little worth activated indium is now, i went on a big spending spree because all my inventory slots and upgrades reset, i thought ah it doesnt matter about money as i got my mine and loads of money, but now its really not worth much.
I just start playing this when I saw it was free to play over the weekend. I immediately got sucked in. I've been playing Fallout 76 for quite some time and haven't been able to find another game good enough to pull me away from it.. I do believe 76 is gonna sit on the back burner for awhile. Lol
"dog" = dang, oh god
Have you dabbled with any mods? Great video btw subbed
Make a GIANT ship like a super star destroyer then fly it around the galaxy and claim everything ☠️
2:30 - "...even has a solar panel, so you never have to worry about batteries"
Yes... because I carry a wallet to leave it laying out in the sun 🤦♂️
The best companion is Laylaps (The Sentry) idk what you’re on
Near paradise planet in that galaxy no space station seen yet.
I should definitely try out bytebeat for my base
Looking for a way to recognise friends who enter my bases... So I can have a different Beat for each of them
Nice video, but I wish you showed what you're talking about. Sometimes it's just random footage from the game, like during the storm bonuses.
Best way to make money everyone during mid game is mining activated indium and selling it
What's the point of a solar panel on something that lives in your pocket?
One charge gives you 3 months of battery!
they need to putout a fix asap, i have had this amazing game on switch for 2 and a half months and play it frequently with zero issues, but today, it crashes constantly ! they need to fix this, the latest update has made it super buggy, and same issues are being reported for games on nintendo, PC, xbox, and ps5. this game needs to be fixed because its been so great and all of a sudden, with this last couple of updates its not functional.
awesome! thank you. you got a new sub :D
Thanks for the sub! :)
im to retarted for this game but i love it
I think a lot of us feel like that...
I have over 100 hours in the game and I'm still stumbling my way through the universe.
@@Silmerano it truly is something only NMS players can say...
ty for your video it help me out a lot how do you get the ask about portals where you go to get the black hole
You sound too nice to swear 😂
Why thank you😂
I've got one of the biggest pets so far if you want an egg
180+ hours and I still find things to do
That is the beauty of NMS. Very few games can compete with it on this!
I am still lost in this game ,just day 4 gameplay 😅
I have some tips and tricks in other videos on the channel!
@@AverageGameReviews thanks man appreciate the advice on those simple to follow videos. Thanks 😊
@@DevVel Hey, are you still stuck? If you want I can point you in the direction of some helpful tools, tips and tricks?
skybase fixed? wont let me place the landing pad
I’m subscribed after the call it from your wallet line. Poetry 😢
PSVR2….buying this tomorrow for $29
Def getting one of those wallets 🔥. I haven’t played NMS but I’m stuck on getting that or starfield
Thanks mane, def getting NMS@@AnthonyDuLacWytefang
It's honestly the random curse word in your videos that keeps me coming back. Idk what that says about me. Awesome videos though!
Are you using any mods in this video? and if so which ones?
All footage is from my PS5, so no mods! Does something look different?
How do you change the building cam like at @3:27?
