- Today we are going to be installing an IIWEY 1080p Dash Cam into a Skoda Fabia.
We are not going to be using any tools apart from Fingers and the Key for the car.
Please note this is not an all singing all dancing camera. It has basic functions but does them excellently and captures everything you need in the event of an accident etc.
The dashcam used is from Amazon and can be found here www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...
It has a 4.5 Star rating on amazon but is a fraction of the price of the Name Brands.
It took me around 10 minutes to fit it and get it set up. This product can also be hard wired using a DashCam hard wire kit www.amazon.co.uk/iiwey-Hardwi... - Авто та транспорт
The missuz asked Halfords to fit it, "£75" he said "or purchase one for £35 just a front view mind and we will install for free" after a confused look, our lass said "erm no thanks, I will wait for my husband to search the UA-cam when he gets home" and here I am after 19 mins making a saving of £75 and my manhood. Thanks for this 😊 you're a star .
Thank you, from Las Vegas 😊 I just bought one of these about a month ago but was intimidated by all the wires and weird booklet that didn’t make sense, so it’s been collecting dust. You were hard to find, but I’m glad you’re here. I needed help really bad because I travel a lot and the traffic is horrendous! I’ve had several incidents where I wished I had one.
I’m going to try to put it up now. I feel more confident after watching you do it.
Thanks again, I sincerely appreciate it!
I have been looking for a video like this for about a week now and super excited to have run across your video. This was a super simple and detailed video that will absolutely help me set up my dash cam.

Brilliant. Very clear in an accent i can understand, no shouty voices, no horrible bashing music. Just clear instructions. Thank you thank you. 👍
Excellent, just good sound advice and it's the same one as I've bought recently.it's about time someone put up simple advice with a bit of humour and no bullshit.definitely impressed.
Thank you for taking the time to share what you did for your daughters vehicle. Better to have this in place than not. If only’s with a car accident could turn out to be very expensive. All the best.👊🏽
Always good to have a dash cam to stop the idiot from claiming shit u never done. Mine has got me out of a few sticky situations
Brilliant practical instruction video. Better than trying to understand the complicated instructions. Fitted similar dash cam in about 15mins with this aid on a Nissan Juke. Great help, big thumbs up from me.👍👍👍👍👍👍
You make it look so simple loved the video !!
Awesome thank you so much for this I've had my dash cam for over a year I am going to put in today 😘
Cheers for the video mate, had no clue where to start but this helped me understand everything, especially thanks for the tips on hiding the wires. Thumbs up from me mate! 👍👍👍
Thanks for this! Great informative video and great soundtrack also 👌
Thank you for keeping this simple 👌
Thank you sir, for this video. Been trying to find something simple and easy explanation.
Very informative video. Bought this camera as gift couple months ago. Will buy one for myself & wife now that I know how to install it. 😊
Glad it was helpful!
You are amazing! Thank you for this, didn’t have a clue but it was so easy
JUST BOUGHT ONE OF THEESE THANKS FOR THE SETUP GUIDE........CHEERS ALAN
Cheers mate.. that was really helpful and made me look forward to install the dash cam in my car..
Glad it helped
Great video, very well presented. I was able to see how to set time and date without reading the manual. Was surprised to see such a very clean car that was owned by a youngster, but then I saw your work van and realised why it was probably so clean😂😂😂
Just wanted to say thanks for your video it was very helpful :)
I wish I had friends like you Mr DepTV!!! Thank you for the great video
Many thanks for the video man! Really good that you did it live like that too. I have a similar brand with ared wire which they say to connect anywhere if you don't have an automatic reversing system(?) I wish I had seen how you mounted the rear view cam
Thank you so much for your video. It was very helpful 🙂.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for the video I was scared to start and after watching your video I installed my dash cam myself
Thanks brother, very easy to follow.
Brilliant video. Thanks a lot.
Thanks
Thank you, that was really helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Was a bit skeptical about installing this myself because of the wires and the weak English in the manual but I'm gonna get cracking on this now that you've shown me how simple an install it is. Cheers.
I’d like to say thanks for this video. I am going to have to rejig this a bit as I have a convertible.
Thanks. That was a great help 👍
Hi,the video really helpful.Thank you very much
Great video!!
Thanks, this video really helped me.😁
Great video, thanks mate. My forward facing cam install was straightforward but I was worried about the rear with the instructions saying to wire the red wire into the reversing light. I was almost going to forget about the rear facing camera until I came across your video and learnt its for IR, so as my rear cam is mounted to inside of screen like yours I didn't bother with a reversing light feed and the rear cam works great.
Me too. I didn't bother connecting that red cable. Mounting my rear one on the Insignia was tricky though, as there isn't an obvious bit of plastic to drill into, and the lip bit at the top of the rear window is hard to get at.
Video helped a lot mate thanks, haven't drove with it as i have only just installed it but i was confused on all wiring too until i watched this and for people asking about the red wire thats if you want to make the rear camera and reversing camera, if you don't and just want front and rear dashcams then just leave the red wire and tuck it away or if you want to turn the rear one into a reverse camera then you use the red wire as well but the camera needs going where number plate is you don't stick it in back window as that wont be much of a reverse camera lmao.
i was confused about where the rear cam gets its power from. So if one does not use the red wire its powered from the fron camera. Am i correct ?
@@johnbrownboots9884 Yes, red wire is to make it a reverse cam that wires to your reverse sensor i believe so when it detects reverse lights the dashcam will show rear cam, if you dont want it to be a reverse cam then you just use the main wire from front cam to the back cam.
I wont lie though the rear cam is very poor quality.
Thanks so much sir for posting fitting mine now big help much appreciated
Great video. Thanks a lot. It will help.
This helped me so much. Only took me about 15 mins to install both front and rear on my '05 Pilot after watching this video.
Thank you very much for the video. I have a very similar one and it really helps
Thanks for your assistance
Thank you so much!❤️
no tools needed....excellent mate👍
I purchased a Duel Lens Blackbox DVR and lost the directions. You did a really good job filming this video. Thanks for the help.
great help thank you
Excelent video👌
Going job lad..will tackle this now lad
Nice and simple thanX
Didnt realize I dont need to hook up power for rear camera thank you!!
this isn't the model I bought but still very helpful thanks
Good job
Thank you
Gracias me ayudó mucho este video!! Thanks !!!!!
Thank you it helped
Easiest way to hard wire is through odb2 port. You can get an extension that switches on and off.
Thank god for you!! I was clueless- just about to attempt fitting it 😅
Do you have a vid for hardwiring it? How hard would it be to remove it from being hardwired later? (I drive a motability car so don’t actually own it but wanted the option for when car is off to still record)
thank you
Grt , this video really helps
Which model is this bcz i want to buy same one , its clearity good
Brilliant
Thanks
Hi there can you tell me if the rear camera records as well ?? … thanks ..great vid
Very good video. And this will save me at least £55 for Halford fitting cost.
This appears to be the same or very similar model to the EC018 which I haven't installed yet as I have some reservations. On mine the red wire is for connecting to the reversing lights so you can monitor the rear on the screen. They recommend it be permanently hard wired if you intend using the parking shock sensors as the battery is very small and won't work for long which is a drawback. Also, you can't drive with the parking shock detection turned on so have to do it manually every time you park up. I can't find any mention of whether the camera will just record continually if it has a permanent live feed, I assume it will which makes the parking shock sensor rather superfluous, although I assume it will put the video clip in a secured folder after impact.
That was a very useful video thank you: My only comment being, trying to operate any of the camera buttons with the camera on the left of the mirror would be difficult from the driving seat, although I fully appreciate you don't want your daughter fiddling with it while driving.
I believe you can set the screen to go off after a given period 1-3 minutes maybe so it's not a distraction.
BATTERY ONLY NEED LAST TILL SHE IS NEXT IN CAR AS IT WILL RECHARGE THEN..WHOOPS SORRY BOUT CAPS forgot key was on too lazy to retype
Great Video, cheers for the help. What did you say the red wire was for and do you have a video for hardwiring it?
The red wire from the reversing camera is for the IR less on the cam.
There of no use when installed inside the rear window as it just makes the picture white.
Thanks for instruction how to install
Bravo ravooo
thanks.
You did an excellent job installing the cameras. To be honest with you it's just a little too much work for me I'll probably screw it up.
Please can you show where the red cable goes, thanks great video
08/01/2022 USA South Carolina,
I just recently bought 1 from amazon too. haven't install it yet but the rear cam wouldn't come on when testing. was there anything I was supposed to do ahead of time?
@DEP Tv do you think that 32 gb is enough memeory for the cam or should i maybe go with a 64 or even a 128gb?
Can you use rear camrah outside as I'm thinking of putting it on my pannel van size the same as yours
On my instruction (good year bought fir fathers day ) says red wire is for reverse camera . To work wjrn in reverse os this mainly only fir reverse parking ? As I don't need it even though my car has reverse camera anyway. Thanks
I have an airbag same as urs in the top middle between the front and back seat. I saw you tuck the line just above it. Is that safe and won't activate the airbag? I was just thinking of just taping it over that area for that reason. But if it's safe to tuck in that area then I'll do that.
Can you playback the camera on the camera itself or do you need a separate computer to playback?
Were do I connect the red cable
No good for your reversing sensor though is it?
If you can't see the screen.
What did you do with the red cable
Ive got something similar but i cant get mine to actually save the recordings
Superb video. Nice and simple install.
In my opinion I would have set the date and time before I put the camera in the windshield, other than that it cool
I got the same camera you got for 20 to 30 bucks I got the front and a rear but the only thing I got was a cord that plugs into my light socket I didn't get the long extension cord that you got it why is that how do I do my back camera if I don't have that cord.
What happened to the cable that went down the side of the tailgate?
Superb video.... I realise its not a reversing camera... But can you see to reverse on the rear camera
Many thanks
Yes. On mine the reverse cam shows up on the screen (of the front cam) in the top right. I actually want it gone but can't figure out how.
is it any good?
Just got one for my car as i drive for Uber and want the extra safety
where to connect the red wire???
I contacted the company about the red wire which YOU didn't connect to the back brake light and they said it MUST be connected but it doesn't tell you that in the book?
when i plug the usb into my laptop and look at the footage it doesnt record the acc video footage. any tips?
How come the rear camera works without connecting the red wire to a power source 🤷♂️
OMG! i love you for this. DON'T LAUGH... but 1) I could not figure out to get cam to stay connected, forgot to slide over
2) You showed how to run the cords along ceiling. NO OTHER VID helped me so much!!!!
BEFORE i install i need to insert and format 32g card. i realize i'm late to the party (vid is older) but you're doing GOd's work LOL
😊
But you didn't show me what you connected the red wire to?
Might be quick install but your risk assessment is severely lacking.
This vehicle has side curtain airbags and you've added the rear camera cable to the exact area where they deploy from (if needed).
Where are you connecting cable red
I connected it to a switched live in the fusebox. It does come with a 12V Power socket adapter if you dont want to hard wire it.
Just two from Amazon. Had to purchase separate SD cards. The pamphlet instructions mentioned formatting before placing in dashcam. I'm in US so I see the difference in packaging. Meanwhile, did you have to do prep on your SD card before operating? Also, do you have any suggestions as to sensors and options to use 24 hour features
Did you find any answers to your questions? I'm in the US as well and I'm curious about this too...
@@RichLadyThoughts yes. Cams work fine.
Was not very strong with this video, watched the whole thing because I needed to make sure I was doing the right thing with my red wire in the back rear camera. And all he did was stuff it up in a corner.
Bought one of these for my sister. She almost had a crash yesterday and it recorded nothing! Don’t buy this
Cheers mate was very helpful tho yiu ahoukd make one connecting the reverse light in rear camera
