Don’t kid yourself bruh. The Bulls may end up having a great season, but as of today they have not done anything significant to prove that these signings willl directly correlate to more wins and a deep playoff run. You never know how 12 teammates (or even 5 starters) will gel until the games are played. Before last season Portland’s front office was almost universally praised for the “amazing off-season acquisitions” they made! Next thing you know, a key up and comer (Z. Collins) goes down with a season ending injury, then second year player Nassir Little misses time, followed by CJ missing 20+ games, followed by Nurkic missing another huge chunk of yet another season. Then Derrick Jones wasn’t able to figure out how to consistently contribute as a starter. Then came the realization that 2 of their main Bench players (Melo and Kanter) Were historically horrendous on defense making them almost unplayable together for large stretches of any game. So all of those amazing off season signings made to help Portland get over the hump failed to live up to the hype/expectations. Hopefully Chicago has better luck this year than what Portland had last year.

@@imdbtruthEmbiid is top 10. Most likely top 5. He is beyond Hakeem footwork WITH extra mass and dominance. He does cry and complain but dont forget how ridiculous he can play.
It's pretty simple in the end they tried to make the Dame and CJ experiment work for far too long when it's clear it couldn't win when it mattered. That back court gives up too many points on defense as neither of them are that defensively minded and Stots didn't seem to care too much about that end of the court. So sadly it rarely mattered much if Dame went off for 50 on any night because they would give up half that on the other end just as easily. Sadly I think the time has passed for CJ to be the sort of attractive trade asset for a move that could really change things up for them. I'm not convinced that Chauncey is going to change much as head coach. He can preach about defense all they like but as long as Dame continues to show that he cares less about that end (somewhat understandably given the load he carries on offense) then it's going to be hard to get the rest of the team to buy in. Not that they have a bunch of elite defenders around him anyway. Nurkic doesn't help either a lack of defense at a position where you really need it and then he doesn't overwhelm on the other end to try make up for it. Worst of all Dame couldn't even just speak his mind this off season when given the opportunity. Preaching loyalty then getting caught out not living up to that and doing what everyone with a brain expected and half asking out. Then he just quietly backtracks on that too. So here we are, he gets what he deserves
Dame love & loyalty to Portland is what Kobe and Dirk were for their cities when they played. Portland is all he's known since joining the league but maybe the love runs deeper than that court. Having a relationship and building with a team for almost 10 years is tough to walk away from. I'm a Mavs fan through and through but Dame definitely need the right guys on that court with him.
As a Blazer fan it's really hard to stay objective about them. It's really easy to make excuses when it's your team. But when you just watch this video it's hard to deny that we totally wasted an MVP-candidate's prime. These players don't come around very often.
Nurkic getting injured really hurt Portland also Rodney hood plus a couple others. I think they didn't changed their roster much because they had faith in themselves if healthy
Title of your video puts all the blame on Blazers front office, but things are never that black and white. Humble opinion: 1. Front office blame: Blazers are a small market team, they can't get big names (like Lakers or Heat) so if they want to stay competitive they need to overpay guys if they show any sign of productivity (like Crabbe, Turner, Lenard,...), and then they get in to the problems with salary cap (we see same things happen in Nuggets now, or Thunder couple of years ago,...). Almost all players (if they can) leave as soon as possible, for beaches and flashes of paparazzi and contracts with big name sponsors. They would probably change Stotts years ago (and McCollum too) but can't because Dame is good with them. 2. Coach blame. Stotts was always limited as a coach. His offensive schemes are out of date, and his defensive schemes are non existent. Blazers defense was waaaaay below average for most of the seasons, and barely average on a few seasons. And he didn't do anything to make his team a better team, they survived mostly of of talent of couple of guys. Not nearly good enough for some true results. And he was untouchable because Dame like him and wanted him there. 3. Players blame: The main duo (Lillard and McCollum) never did anything to put their team on another level and be competitive with other top teams in the West. They play their game as they want and the storyline is "my way or the highway", and others need to get with the program. They are pretty lazy (and undersized) on defense and have to many "solo act" minutes in every game. You can go through season with that kind of play (Rockets are the example) but when defense gets tight in the playoffs they fall easily. You can add bad luck to it all with injuries in last couple of years (or even go that far to remember Oden and Roy), but even if they were all healthy, the results probably wouldn't be any better. Just my humble opinion, of course. Good video as always, thanks for making it.
I partially agree with you but if Milwauckee won the championship, that means there are some possibilities for Portland to provide a better roster for Lilliard. Big club names are not as powerful as before. 7 years of failure, it's not normal. In europe, after 6 months fans call out the club owners straight up to fix problems. Great managers improve their teams no matter if the team is good or weak, look at Steve Kerr for example, he created one of the strongest bench in the league with players who were average else where. No excuses. Bring players to Lilliard or Beal or let them go.
Good analysis, very thorough especially about the history of the Blazers’ trades and free agent signings during the Lillard era. But I want to mention a couple of things. - The off-season isn’t.over yet. The Blazers traded for and signed Powell with the intention of trading McCollum, and I’m sure that a trade for Ben Simmons is still being discussed. Whether or not it happens is really up to Philly’s GM, so we’ll see, but I can’t imagine him sitting on Ben forever. - The Blazers were near the top of the league in scoring last year and got rid of defensive liabilities Melo and Kanter, replacing them with much better defenders in Nance and Zeller. Add to that a new coach who specialized in defense during his playing career. I think the Blazers will surprise a lot of people this upcoming season, either with or without a trade for Simmons.
I HATE the ongoing false premise of loyalty in PRO sports. There is NO SUCH THING. Lillard is a superstar player, and the Blazers pay him for it -- that's the whole relationship right there. E.g., if Lillard were to suffer a career-ending injury, the Blazers would move on, and if Lillard ever wanted to move to another team in free agency, he'd be more than welcomed to do so.
Agreed, the problem is the old owner died and the new owner does not really care about basketball. The team will probably get sold, but I hope it can stay in Portland.
@@urmanascrewed there’s rumours about the owners are waiting until dames contract is over so they can relocate to Seattle. I’m not sure it’s 100 percent.
I'm here after they traded norman powell for nobodies... As a warriors/blazers fan I'm extremely frustrated, I was hopping the organization would make some big changes to get another all star to pair with Lillard yet they trade norman powell, who is really solid for nothing basically, unless they trying to clear some cap spacee who knows, only time will tell.
You sound dumb asf …. Go look at his stats the last 15 games lol he scored 70 points and 2 60 point games and a couple 50 point games while averaging over 40 points for the rest
Portland were too sentimental, mishandled assets and overpay in trades. CJ and Nurkic packaged with picks could have brought back better two way players and you’d still have Trent Afernee etc coming up.
Damien lillard just doesn’t have a championship mentality. When I see Will Purdue, I see championship toughness. When I see Kenny Smith, I see championship toughness. When I see Robert Horry, I see championship toughness. These three guys share that special quality that all champions have, that special toughness, and that’s why they have rings. Damien Lillard will never join this elite club.
No HE wasted his prime. He had several chances to go elsewhere & chose to stay w an “almost good” team. Funny part is, they’ve been “almost good” for 10 years now 😂.
I think people underestimate one big things when it comes to be traded: you have to move. Lillard has been in Portland for quite some time and has built a family there. If he were to be traded he’d spend a lot less time with his family. Yea he can move his whole family to wherever he goes but that can sometimes be difficult for the family to be thrusted into another living situation.
Dame loves Portland and Portland loves Dame. What he has done for this franchise is special. He has made it clear he won’t play anywhere else. We all want to see him win and god willing that day comes 🙏🏼

2018 wasn’t on Dame, if you’re averaging 18ppg in a playoff series but still the highest scorer on your team then you definitely need a new team.
This was an amazing video, Good Job!
Dude you are literally one of the best basketball channels on UA-cam, I really can't comprehend how on earth you have this low subscribers
Underrated channel!
I genuinely love your videos and think you are going to be huge. Keep grinding
You gon blow up bro keep grinding these videos fire
Another banger. Seeing as he’s not making videos anymore, you’re quickly replacing Motown Noah as NBA UA-cam’s best up and coming channel. Keep it up.
We can all agree to respect Damian loyalty
I’m appreciating the hell out of these videos
Same.
Dylan ur UA-cam channel is going to blow up u have my sub
This channel is great keep up the work
Dame love & loyalty to Portland is what Kobe and Dirk were for their cities when they played. Portland is all he's known since joining the league but maybe the love runs deeper than that court. Having a relationship and building with a team for almost 10 years is tough to walk away from. I'm a Mavs fan through and through but Dame definitely need the right guys on that court with him.
The difference is Lakers and Mavs continually built strong playoff teams and contenders around Kobe and Dirk
@Barry Lird I feel you 👍🏾
bro you deserve way more subs for the production value you put into these vids, super fire
The players who leave and win get criticized. The ones who stay and don't, get called foolish for sticking around. You cant win really.
yeah pretty accurate
As a Blazer fan it's really hard to stay objective about them. It's really easy to make excuses when it's your team. But when you just watch this video it's hard to deny that we totally wasted an MVP-candidate's prime. These players don't come around very often.
You deserve more subs man, great content and analysis in exposing NBA storylines
This better than 50% of the nba yt community dont forget me once u hit 1 mil
Nurkic getting injured really hurt Portland also Rodney hood plus a couple others. I think they didn't changed their roster much because they had faith in themselves if healthy
New favorite nba youtube channel!

this dude has been carrying us for a decade, we really don't deserve him.

Title of your video puts all the blame on Blazers front office, but things are never that black and white.
Humble opinion:
Good video as always, thanks for making it.
that, but Neil Olshey was terrible at decisions too
I partially agree with you but if Milwauckee won the championship, that means there are some possibilities for Portland to provide a better roster for Lilliard.
Awesome video bro!
14/15 Trailblazers were awesome. Too bad they lost 4 starters that summer, but it gave McCullom space to shine.
I’m rockin with these keep em comin
@@ethanjoshua2857 You’re right, Portland should move to the Eastern Conference lol
as a fan of j aubrey this video reminded me of his style of content creation, especially the intro and I really love it
This was a phenomenal video. Well done my guy, keep it up!
CJ just got traded to the Pelicans. The end of an Era between Lillard and CJ Mccollum
How the hell do you have so many views and so few subscribers????? It’ll come soon bro!
your videos are pretty good
Blazer fan here after his trade to the bucks... wish the blazers didn't have such a garbage front office!!!
Blazers needa hire a whole new front office
Agreed, the problem is the old owner died and the new owner does not really care about basketball. The team will probably get sold, but I hope it can stay in Portland.
@@urmanascrewed there’s rumours about the owners are waiting until dames contract is over so they can relocate to Seattle. I’m not sure it’s 100 percent.
@@-TurboSI think the team will be up for sale in a couple years
Blazers waste Dame and CJ's Prime the same way The Jazz waste Pistols career in the 70s

The blazers really just put out McCollum and Lillard every year and expect it to get better
Great content, nice closing line. Just subscribed.
In retrospect, Damian might just end up being remembered as an nba legend, who unfortunately ran into Steph Curry and the Warriors.
This channel is underrated
this showed up in my home feed right after they traded Powell/Covington lmao
I was trying to look for comments referencing about the dumb trade! God dame is just setting himself on fire
love these vids!
I'm here after they traded norman powell for nobodies... As a warriors/blazers fan I'm extremely frustrated,
I was hopping the organization would make some big changes to get another all star to pair with Lillard
yet they trade norman powell, who is really solid for nothing basically, unless they trying to clear some cap spacee
who knows, only time will tell.
Now they traded CJ for Josh Hart
@@rocketonthebeat9441 and they traded Nickeil Alexander Walker for Joe Ingles🤦♂️

“18 ppg at 35% shooting is disgusting” the man was getting double teamed every play lay off 😂😂
so he is not that good
You sound dumb asf …. Go look at his stats the last 15 games lol he scored 70 points and 2 60 point games and a couple 50 point games while averaging over 40 points for the rest

If the T-Wolvs would have traded for dame instead of Rudy the T-Wolvs would have been top 4. Dame Ant and KAT. That's a nasty big 3
Zach Collins played solid minutes for them during their 2019 playoff run. He was a solid draft pick but injuries ruined him.
Porland just give 2 more year for 122m .
That just crazy someone getting over 60m for 1 season
The first 0:30 seconds of the video is The greatest beginning I’ve seen
Portland were too sentimental, mishandled assets and overpay in trades.
CJ and Nurkic packaged with picks could have brought back better two way players and you’d still have Trent Afernee etc coming up.
my biggest fear is walking away from a challenge without truly giving myself a chance
Anyone here after the bucks trade?
First. And I already know this is gonna be a good one, keep up the great content!
I don't care about dame, just here to admire how good Dylan is
Damien lillard just doesn’t have a championship mentality.
Best NBA channel.. 🔥
