I don’t wanna turn this into a heated debate but the noises are truly from the electric motor - they’re harmonized through pipes to make them sound that way but think of your hair dryer or vacuum cleaner / they aren’t silent machines; granted they don’t sound like wanna be gas revving V8 engines but electric motors aren’t 100% silent - most the EV’s out there that are quieter have a lot of insulation around them to absorb the sound to make them quieter, which is basically equal to amplifying the sound - on one end some are silent, on the other end some are louder - there’s always been some sort of sound augmentation with EV’s - this is just the first one that’s being made to amplify its sound versus having it muffled/silenced Again, not argument - cuz you’re not wrong; but it is different than the idea of it being completely fake though a speaker or something Don’t mind me - I just enjoy the conversation

I like the looks of the new Charger. I just don’t have 75k for an EV.
Pooooobre
These are higher trimmed versions. Like the wagoneer s, they are definitely planning more trims.
@@R-Viewit starts at 60K and runs up to 84K.
@Thurmanatr16 for an RT and scat pack - normally RT was the 5.7 and in its last year ran close to 50k. Still a premium here but so is the car overall. No more outdated L bodies.
I'd rather have a 1969 Charger restomod with a hellcat drive train.
Dodge can kick rocks
It’s like selling you Diet Coke and then telling you it’s the real deal.
It's like trying to sell Harley riders an electric scooter!
Thing that worries me about this is Dodge can not even get Hybrid correct and now its all electric? Im a lead tech with dodge and its all bad with the Hybrids this car will be a nightmare.
Not even Dodge anymore, your placing faith in Stellantis a European company.
@@seamurda100 yes I know what it is lol I’m not placing my faith in anything but God but there is not many companies that has gotten hybrid correct much less all electric.
@@8RaiderNation3 Amen. You would be surprised how reliable the toyota hybrids are. I wa skeptical of them but there is a lot of mechanics praising them for reliability. I dont think Dodge will ever come back and thats sad. I have a scat pack and it will be the last Dodge I buy until they are american owned again.
@@seamurda100 agreed bro Toyota is super reliable. The scats are good driven many of those myself. I’m a master mechanic with dodge and see nothing but problems with the Hornet, Pacifica, any 4XE.
Can they make it harder to steal for the next gen?
Trust me, they did. 😂 cause no one wants it but teslians and ev heads.
IF they even bother to steal it 😂😂😂😂
Don't worry... Nobody in their right mind is not gonna even bother.
They can remotely shut down electric cars from the factory 🤣🤣
Well that camt.take the engine lmao😂
If this guy can run a company then I can rule the world, how can he call himself a car guy and keep a straight face?
Fr dudes first car was a dodge shadow. Was atleast expecting a neon
I’ve seen the price leak if they want them to sell they have to lower the prices.
80k for the loaded Scat 🤡
The Daytona will probably be 110k 😂😂😂

Tesla already destroys the v8
😂😂@@diegoharo7943
This just created an aftermarket for hemi swapped chargers.
hemi v8 with a supercharger whine I hope it comes with that
2:52 You know the stupidity in this statement? The one thing that everything he mentioned had in common, is a v8.
The biggest problem for this cars is that the previous gen has become legends/gods, they are timeless and unreplaceable, doesn't matter what you do. Dodge is forever linked to rebellious big displacement loud engines who shake the ground just by idling
Fake engine noises lol, so lame
I don’t wanna turn this into a heated debate but the noises are truly from the electric motor - they’re harmonized through pipes to make them sound that way but think of your hair dryer or vacuum cleaner / they aren’t silent machines; granted they don’t sound like wanna be gas revving V8 engines but electric motors aren’t 100% silent - most the EV’s out there that are quieter have a lot of insulation around them to absorb the sound to make them quieter, which is basically equal to amplifying the sound - on one end some are silent, on the other end some are louder - there’s always been some sort of sound augmentation with EV’s - this is just the first one that’s being made to amplify its sound versus having it muffled/silenced
Again, not argument - cuz you’re not wrong; but it is different than the idea of it being completely fake though a speaker or something
Don’t mind me - I just enjoy the conversation
@@JasonBrozic ok then tell me how can they rev up the electric motors while the car is standing still. You telling me the motors disconnect so they can rev up to make the noise? I dont think so, it's total fake noises
@@corvettelifejones8625 I’m just another idiot on the internet in which case I have absolutely no idea how it’s been engineered, but if I had to guess, if it’s actual sound and not fake, I would think it’s possibly that the motor is free spooling without any drive functions engaged
I’ll definitely be curious once these are on the road in more abundant numbers and someone does a breakdown / tear down vid of whatever harmonizer is being used - if it’s actually real sound being amplified I’d likely be fascinated with how they went about achieving it
Though if you are right I’d virtually shake your hand and say “Yep, you were right, it’s all BS”
I’m mostly curious to see how well or not well this is gonna pan out for Dodge - they’re making some seriously ballsy claims that this next gen stuff of theirs is way better and faster than the hellcat generation - if they’re right I think most like myself will be pretty surprised; if they’re wrong there’s many of us that’ll stand there laughing and watching them burn to the ground as we all acknowledge that they dun effed up…. 👍👍
The fake exhaust adds zero performance while adding weight, cost, complexity, and a needless point of failure.
The micro transactions pricing model is a slap in the face of consumers. You already paid for the functionality and have it in your car, you have to pay for it again to have it unlocked.
The fact that this costs $30k more than a Tesla while giving less performance, range and value is mind boggling.
You are going to be a very short term ceo.
Tbh I feel like Dodge should’ve leaned harder into a cyberpunk type aesthetic for this car rather than an EV pretending to be an ICE car.
Yeah and then maybe a smaller, more efficient V8 instead of that weird inline 6 option smh
@@dustins8707 225 Slant Six produced around 145 hp???????????
They really need to stop calling those muscle cars.
My 2008 Charger RT with a Gasoline engine kept blowing ECM's back when Daimler Benz owned them. What the hell is going to happen to an all-electric made by Fiat? Besides they will blow up more than a BDY after a flood…
They look good and the interior is nice
Matt. You let us all down..
The frame and the interior is well needed. Cant sell me on thr EV part tho... nor the i6.
This really hurts, they can at least give the faithful consumers the option to choose
I have to admit.it looks better than the Mustang EV😂
Wtf is that exhaust!!!😂😂😂😂🤮🤢
A strange party trick.

NO Bailout for FIAT!
Best thing about this video was the v8 noises in the background lol
2024 and they still cant align the trunk lights with the actual taillights , was a horrible problem on the challenger
Dodge is going to end up like Pontiac.
Let's hope.
You can keep your EV muscle car. There's no cold start, there's no chop from a performance cam. As for inline 6. I'll keep my BMW. I don't care about how much horse power the EV has. I will buy an used RT before I would buy one of these EVs. The fake sound is like veggie meat vs. a nice steak. I'll take the steak.
Like that veggie meat called incogmeato.
You smoking moon rocks if you think it looks or is inspired by the 68 charger. Try 66
I wasn't expecting too much from this, but it's impressive. That trunk opening is a real surprise.
Well un fortunately I just saw one of these broken down at the side of the road😂 looks like the battery died

This EV trash will never be affordable. They could've just made a hypercar and actually won out
As a 2024 mustang gt owner I love it
Well ford increased the prices on the 2025 so it ain’t good

I'm a Bolt EV owner and I'm all in on electric. I also love American Muscle V8s. I've owned a few myself, but I never owned a Hemi. I'd love to own one of these non 4 door Charger EVs though. However, I think it's a terrible mistake to replace the Hemis with 6 cylinder engines. I'm guessing this is only happening because of our worthless government. Such a shame to be losing a legendary American icon like the Hemi. Gr8 vid. 🚙🇺🇸🔌⚡

No V8 = No buy
Dodge has to conform to the same government regulations as the rest of the industry. This isn't Dodge ignoring their customer base. This is them meeting regulations and still providing a unique Dodge performance experience. The new straight six will have more power and torque than the Hemi V8 if you want a new ICE vehicle. If you want an EV, well here she is as well. I give Dodge props for designing, engineering and building a flexible platform that will provide all of the above as well as a beautiful design that is true to their brand. This vehicle makes a strong statement, unlike EVERYTHING else in new car showrooms today. It says Dodge Charger from 20 yards away. It's unique and it's bold! Good for them!
Yes because this CEO, GM, Harley... have fought so hard against this, oh sorry they PUSHED these changes, only Toyota (with hybrid and Hydrogen), and to a lesser extent Ford mildly questioned them.
Imagine the ridiculous markups that these scamming dealerships are going to do🤦♂️
Oh my God. I’m from U.K. and that actually looks like an American car I would like! First time for everything!
I wouldn't buy this crap even for $5,000. They destroyed a legend.
The coupe with the I6 is pretty tempting. I actually like the looks of this. With an exhaust, intake and a tune it should be a lot of fun. I just hope its sub $50k for the base model.

Shedding the Fartsonic chamber and electric motors has to shed at least 1,000lbs
This is the first time I've seen this car and it actually looked impressive. In all the press photos, it looked extremely slab sided and the size of a bus. In this video, I actually really like both the interior and exterior. I still would be much more interested in the ICE version, and it is very smart of them to offer both an EV and ICE version.
I had the same, looks a lot better on the real life vids than the press material.
It is slab sided and the size of a bus, larger than last gen and 6,000 pounds or more than most full size 4wd trucks.
How heavy are the doors, what kinda of thump sounds do you hear from the door closing. Does it sound like a 2011 Nissan altima or an old school muscle car
it definitely needs a cheaper trim as well. remove the glass roof, only RWD, smaller screen plus analog gauge cluster, and of coarse less unnecessary options like ( ambient lighting, drive assistant, 360 cam, ) that would be the aspect i choose.
I most definitely would want one. Electric IS the future. I remember folks with the “ I’ll take a pen and paper before I purchase a computer. But the price is very steep. I’ll keep my Tesla for now. This plaid is no joke.
