I dont see why not, I'd even experiment with welches non alcoholic wine and I think there is non alcoholic campaign and a LOT of mixes can be used with out alcohol...
Its about experimentation to see what works and what doest
The kicker is alcohol has a higher freezing temp then non alcohol beverage... so you may have to cool it longer at a higher temp to get the ice to cooperate with the drink

Your supposed to use distilled water (not stored in a plastic jug from the store ) from a glass container to make the ice ball or it will look like regular ice instead of a crystal clear ball
Id pour a small amount of alcyhol. Into the glass and set it on fire to melt the ice ball and allow it to fall apart in front of the guest...ive tried that but I think it would be cool to try and see it
