So many variations out there! Thought of doing "a million margaritas" video, but who has the time?
Visit www.calderalab.com/erickson or use code ERICKSON to get a special discount of 20% off!
Maybe next year you could do margarita May?!?
Anders, we need to harness your cocktail superpowers. The very reason that so many variations exist is why we need you to share your "4 Must Try Now" variations. Help us kick off our weekend right!
I do a similar mescal margarita but I use Ancho Reyes rather than some slices of hot peppers. It's slightly sweet so I do 3/4 curacao, and 3/4 ancho reyes, and no simple (although I like my drinks less sweet so the agave syrup would still be nice).
The ginger grapefruit one makes me think of a dark and stormy had a baby with a grapefruit margarita. Perhaps call it “Tormenta de pomelo” or simply a Margarita Tormentosa
If you could pull off even 50, I’d be impressed - - and I’d love it!!!
Okay, so here's an idea. Get some booze, invite some friends over and put an Anders video on repeat and everyone builds there own cocktails. An Anders party!
I love the "half salt" idea. Never thought of just doing one side, and sometimes, I find myself either craving or getting sick of the salt and sweeping it off. So simple. "Facil" even.
Truly! At first I like it, but it gets old real fast.
No need to go by the traditional recipe, choose to have your cocktails according to whatever you're feeling at the moment!
Love the Hibiscus variant. I worked in a Mexican Restaurant that had Aguas Frescas like Horchata and Jamaica. Jamaica was made in the traditional way the Mexican owners remembered from their home state of Jalisco with dried hibiscus flowers, ginger, and sugar. I simply added half ounce of fresh lemon and lime with reposado tequila and orange curacao. I called it the Quibiscus. Summertime favorite in the restaurant!
Jamaica is a juice? had no idea
@@Gavinbelson more like a tea, you boil the flower in water and whit the spices, onece don you let it cool and thats it serve whit a bunch of ice, at least thats how it's made were i live
@@Gavinbelsonno, it's not. It's a flower and you need to soak it in very hot water to infuse, do not boil. It's quite yummy, refreshing and it helps to lose weight. They sell it everywhere in the States now
Best line you've said in all your videos, "It's the best part of the tire..." 😁
Thanks for the video! We'll be making all of these.
Haha - Cheers, Jared!
Spicy margs with Mescal are absolutely incredible, highly recommended (along with all these). Ancho Reyes liqueur also a great option instead of jalapeños for a kiss of some sweet while dialing back the heat a notch or two. Nice work as always sir 🍻
Smoke and spice
1 1/2 teq
1/2 mezcal (or less teq n more mezcal to your preference)
3/4 lime
3/4 cointreu
1/4 agave
Dash habernaro tintcure
Salt rim
Served up in coupe glass
Smokey. Spicy. Touch of sweet, salty, tart, acidic, dry, refreshing, boozy, tangy.
U get all.the flavors in such a simple build. And no ice to dilute. Served up for a consistsnt boozy but refreshing drink
It’s always funny when the whites discover Chile en polvo for fruits or mixed drinks.
I personally love using Fresno Chiles instead of Jalapeños. I think their slight flavor differences work really well with Mezcal specifically. I also love the slight red tint it gives the drink.
I just started my bar and cocktail journey 2 weeks ago in large part thanks to your channel. You make this so approachable, so thanks for the great content! Going to keep it simple and do the classic! probably going to have a few people where i work that will join me for cocktail hour on the 5th so I'll get to practice making multiples at once. I'm excited
I gasped when you introduced the hibiscus margarita. My God, that's brilliant. My thanks to Shannon for coming up with a drink which is going into my regular rotation.
It’s an old popular margarita style
Down in Mexico they substitute it with mezcal..it's amazing too try it if you have mezcal around
@@crisjm9566 yeah, lots of people have claimed to have invented it in recent years, but the hibiscus margarita has been around for a long time.
Made it, along with homemade hibiscus syrup. Thank you!!
I made the OG, Spicy and Hibiscus this weekend for my mom’s 71st birthday and each recipe was a MUST HAVE for everyone. I got repeats and demands constantly throughout the day. 💚
Those are all so good! I do prefer a mix of the classic and Tommy's margarita by doing .5 oz. each of triple sec and agave syrup. Liber & Co makes a blood orange cordial that can be used to make a blood orange margarita which is also excellent. Oh, and for a bit of whimsy on May 4, slice your lime into wedges, and position them like ears on your glass. You now have a Yoda-rita!
I've been making a lot of margaritas lately, so having some tried and tested variations is very welcome. I need to try that hibiscus syrup, thank you Anders for sharing! Great video!
Cheers, Joonha! Hope you like these recipes. Happy weekend!
What tequila do you use that taste as good as patron? Help plz lol patron to expensive but I want something good as patron but mot cheap cheap. Lol
@@Anime-yh8qs I use 1800 for margaritas. It's more suited to it. It's somewhat fruitier and earthier. I live very far from the States, so I can't say how much cheaper it is, but it should be significant.
@@MrWhangdoodles I tried some the other day it’s perfect that and patron is now my go to! Thanks man
@@Anime-yh8qs I'm glad to hear it! Have a lovely weekend!
Fantastic timing with this video! I just finished my first version of making a chamoy margarita. a friend of mine from mexico is always saying my cocktails are sweet. So I set out to make one with a flavory profile she would like. She said she loves the taste of Chamoy. I broke down the ingredients and set out to make a cocktail have the same profile, but not feel like I just used Chamoy in a normal marg. Chamoy is made from ingredients that represent all the flavors on the palate: Sweet dried apricots, spicy chile de árbol, salty Tajín seasoning, and sour hibiscus flowers. I already was using hibiscus simple in a whiskey sour variation at the bar. But it really wasn't providing a sour taste to it. I also wanted to keep things as simple as possible so I tried to make sure I only needed one syrup for the cocktail. I decided that the heat from the chillies, the flavor from the hibiscus, and the sugar in the syrup would all work well together. But in order to really get that pop of sour I was looking for I added some citric acid to the mix. Basically, I steeped the chillies in hot water, added the dried hibiscus flowers, added citric acid to the sugar and then slowing poured in the sugar to the chillie hibiscus water, stirring the whole time. Once I had the simple syrup it was a pretty easy build of: 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz apricot juice, 3/4 oz simple. Served with a Tajin rim. Worked really well.
Anders, I made the grapefruit-ginger version this evening. I'll definitely put this one in my rotation. I love how the grapefruit and ginger flavors are so subtle and don't compete with the tequila--beautifully balanced.
TO THE BAR!
Ahhhh, a new Anders Erickson video. That Friday feeling has finally arrived.
Haha happy weekend!
Cheers to Sharon! My restaurant that I work at has a cocktail named “The Rude Frenchie” which is literally a margarita with Bissap (hibiscus juice in many languages but bissap in Senegal 🇸🇳!) and I love the added clove note to the SS! But I’ll use a SS we make with rosemary and honey to enrich and deepen the flavor. But instead I’d 3/4 I’ll use 1/2 because the honey is so rich. Such a great cocktail!
Your videos have become a staple of unwinding at the end of my day. Even if I don’t feel like drinking or mixing at the end of it they always put a smile on my face. Your energy and this channel in general makes me happy. Thanks for being awesome !
Appreciate the kind words - thank you! Happy you're enjoying the content. Cheers!
Just found your channel a couple days ago and can’t stop watching! Really enjoying all the videos and experimenting with cocktails at home. Looking forward to more videos in the future!
i could binge watch all your videos. you have a fun personality and make each video entertaining and informative
We, my wife and I, recently subscribed! We really like the production value of your videos, very well put together. You bring a real interest to the art of mixing drinks. Not to mention it's just good to have some fun watching someone who obviously enjoys what they're doing. So kudos to you! Oh, and we want to do a tiki night this summer so how about a top five tiki drink list?
Definitely going to make all five of them. I frequently make a traditional margarita and sometimes make is with mezcal. The addition of the jalapeño sounds amazing.
I love seeing the measuring cup being held onto the tint without leaving a syrup circle on the table. How convenient and what a genius creation!
I’m a new subscriber and, after the few videos of yours that I’ve watched, I can tell that you are low-key dismantling toxic masculinity bit by bit - absolutely love it! And love your videos too 💛🍸
Thanks Anders, I needed this list to hopefully usher in the warmer weather here in MIlwaukee. Cheers to you and Az!
While i love a great Margarita. The Paloma has been at the top of the tequila cocktails leader board at my house for the past year or so. I use fresh grapefruit juice, Ruby Red grapefruit, when i can find it and also top off with grapefruit soda. These Margaritas look delicious!
you mean Squirt soda?
@@edmundooliver7584 Yes or grapefruit soda of your choice.
Hi Anders! We made the hibiscus syrup and the hibiscus margarita. A pure delight!!! Thanks a lot ! Merci beaucoup !
I do a frozen passion margarita with a tajin rim. Also a classic with jalepeno infused tequilla. Absolutely amazing. Love the video as always Anders.
This is awesome definitely making the grapefruit one tonight. And when my hibiscus flowers come I will make the syrup for that cocktail. Can’t wait! Thank youuu
Made my first margarita from scratch following your video. Thanks for the great channel!
fantastic as always. how do remember what you are going to say. I can't thank you enough for getting me through my isolation when I had covid. thank you both so much.
Your channel has been amazing! Really good content. It’s transformed my cocktail party game significantly.
These have been so fun to try out! Especially the spicy mezcal margarita! Thank you a lot Anders!
I've been using Pierre Ferrand in my margaritas. I absolutely love it!
if you replace the tequila to mezcal on the last one you should get: Besos de Mezcal
1 1/2 oz (45 ml) Mezcal
1 oz (30 ml) Agave Syrup
1/2 oz (15 ml) Hibiscus Syrup
Juice from two limes.
I'm going to make all of these! Super! Thanks for sharing!!
I’m gonna make them all! Thank you! Great video and margarita tutorial!
I love this video! Thank you
ALL OF THEM TOMORROW WHILE I ENJOY THE HEAT! Thanks!!!
I appreciate this channel. Can’t wait to make all of these!
I keep coming back to this one. Especially with the weather in the northern hemisphere beginning to warm up 🤗
These all looked and sounded delicious! Definitely will be trying a few of these.
I might go for a variation of the Grapefruit Ginger one; I’ve tried Kevin Kos’ take on citrus “superjuices” from a number of weeks back, and I’ve loved them so much that I’ve been using them to create an endless supply of lemonade/limeade/orangeade. Subbing out the lime in yours for grapefruit superjuice would provide a nice, dry kick.
The second I saw margarita’s I just had to click and watch.
Love the content and these drinks.
Currently drinking a dark and stormy.
Cheers!
I made your grapefruit recipe, but swapped the ginger for a habanero simple syrup. Sooo good! Thanks for the content, always great
I have been waiting for this video! You are amazing!
Margaritas are always great and all of these sound great. Glad you guys are enjoying the coasters.
The Spicy Smokey is SOOO GOOD. Thanks for helping me be a better home mixologist. Such a fan! Don't stop!
I'm going to make the hibiscus margarita! Thank you for the recipes!
I love grapefruit and ginger so that one had to be my second cocktail you've made that I copied. The other was corn and oil, my wife loves it too. Thanks for the inspiration and cheers to you both!
I've been WAITING for this.
All of them for sure!!!
I've had two insanely good margaritas this year...one was a smokey mezcal, citrus, champagne mimosa and the other was a beautiful hibiscus margarita with dried flowers and fresh lime. So, so good!🍹🍹
Excellent!!! Thanks!
That spicy jalapeño one was outstanding! Thank you! My go to for this coming summer.
Fabulous Anders! Love them!! 🤘🎉
Made the classic version last night and it was a hit with the family. I used the Milagro Reposado but substituted Grand Marnier for the orange curacao. Added just a tiny bit of agave syrup (about a 1/4 of an ounce). Tasted great! It will be fun to play around with different versions of this using other brands of tequila and such. Great video, Anders!
Yum! That grapefruit ginger one looks especially intruiging. Thanks!
Strawberry and hibiscus - 2 fresh strawberries, 15ml Agave, 25ml hibiscus, 25ml lime - muddle in tin, 35ml tequila, 15ml cointreau. Shake and dirty pour in a salt rim rocks glass. It's a gooden
I made the hibiscus syrup!!! It’s sooo cool!! I can’t wait to make cocktails and ice tea with it!! Thank you
Amazing 🤩 thanks for sharing
“It’s the best part of the tire.” 🤣 That caught me off guard!
Spicy margarita is my favorite, thank you for the recipe Anders
Made the spicy Smokey and the hibiscus tonight. Both deeeeeeeelicious! Thanks for the great videos!
the hibiscus margarita!!!!!! thank you for sharing!
Margaritas are probably my favorite drink to make while at work, gotta try the strawberry one, that texture looks insanely good.
Wait wait, you mean like you’re actually at work, drinking margs?!
Are you a bartender or should we be concerned? Or both? 😅
The blended strawberry and hibiscus!! This is the best channel for sips, tips and drinks!!
BOOM... I love this episode, will be making them all !
I enjoy your channel so much and I'm so happy that I subscribe and l will be trying all of the amazing cocktail in this video.
The hibiscus one looks great 🌺
At first, I was just going with the smoky spicy because I want to try mezcal… but now I’m preparing to make all of them. Picked up some hibiscus, ginger syrup, mezcal, grapefruit, and tajin today. Cheers
So glad I found your channel.. I am having so much fun with the incredible recipes. Made all the margaritas.. my favourite was the grapefruit ginger.. it could be called a Paloma margarita
Enjoying the mezcal marg at the moment. So delicious.
Great drinks
Hibiscus margarita tastes lovely and the ginger and grapefruit *chef kiss*
Thanks for the great videos! It's almost Margarita Monday!
Margarita is my favorite cocktail 😍
Your channel is the best ❤️
Fantastic video as always. I made the hibiscus one and used ghost pepper tequila. Perfection.
thank you for the video
Beautiful drink presentation 😉👍
Margarita madness situation. LOVE IT
I love the comment about the frozen. "Get over it." Love the videos.
Thanks for mentioning Shannon’s book! I have a friend that’s having a tiki bar installed in his yard this summer and it will be an awesome opening the tiki bar gift! 🙏🏻💜
I do like the sound of the grapefruit and ginger margarita!
Thanks for the orange curacao idea. Will definitely give it a try.
Whoa! These all look fantastic. I'm currently on a margarita kick, so I'm going to make all of them. Thanks, Anders (and Shannon Mustipher). Cheers!
I've got some hibiscus-cello (limoncello, but hibiscus flowers instead of lemon rind) in the pantry, it's not quite the same as the syrup but now I've got to try that in a margarita. That combo had never occurred to me, thanks for spreading the word!
Down in Mexico I've tried it with mezcal and orange liquor. Pretty darn good
Grapefruit ginger margarita is a top seller at my bar!! Thank you sir!
I LOVE this episode, so fun! Viva!
Thanks again my friend!! Now I know what I'm doing this weekend!! You have single handedly upped my drink making skills %1000!!!
Love this. Cheers, Eric!
Will definitely try them. You may want to try also the mango or tamarind frozen margaritas, they are amazing. 🍸😊
"If you think you're too much of a man to drink a strawberry margarita...get over yourself."
Love it!
Perfect thanks
Congratulations on getting to a quarter million subscribers! Keep the great videos coming!
These are great recipes. I ❤ margaritas! I think I'll try the spicy jalapeño one and the last with hibiscus syrup.
Great video as always. That ad spot was awesome, cracked me up.
I did a spicy one with Hibiscus and Ancho Reyes Verde liquor. It was amazing!
Your videos make my day. Your instructional and anecdotal delivery is a perfect balance of education and entertainment. No, I'm not kidding. That is all. Well, that and I probably need a hobby (ok, another hobby). Have a great weekend.
For the ginger grapefruit. Use a coffee grinder on some candied ginger, mix with the salt on the rim.
Love this
