I like how the dubbed head gives it that Muddler sculpin shape. I also think the thread wrap under the tail is a great idea; that and the flashabou will probably reduce the tendency for the marabou to wrap around the hook shank on the back cast (because of surface tension). I like to tie in a short stubby under-tail of crystal flash for that reason.
I really am the odd one out lol, I just love watching because it’s so fascinating! I learn things! I mean, I don’t fish or eat fish but I’d love to fish and pickle it for my friends one day! ❤
@@MainelyFlies Central PA, we've only had 1 passing of snow so far, and temps between 30 and 40. Mornings are a bit chilly but the rest of the day is perfect.
This fly is now up on the site for those who dont tie: www.mainely-outdoors.com/product-page/crystal-wooly-bugger
I have learned so much from watching these videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Happy to have helped!
I could see this working in murky warm waters for bass or crappie
Definitely, Black/blue would be a good choice for dark waters too
Wooly buggers are a bass fly anglers secret weapon. I’ve caught 3 pound mud monsters on a simple purple bugger more times than I can count.
@@MainelyFliesa great streamer for trout.. steelhead on a beefer hook

Lead and glue are needed to make this more durable
Love how these well produced videos teach so much within 3 minutes. Thanks #flies
Dude, the way this all came to together In the last few seconds
I’m gona start tying these for smallmouth in Erie next spring
A great flashy fly, I can see several locations where this can be productive.
Flies!!! This is beautiful
Thank you for the video! That pattern might attract some small bass too. Tight lines! 😎🎣
No problem, Buggers are great for bass if you up size them or even articulate it
Man U make tying flys look easy #flies
Looks like a great minnow imitation. Don't believe I've ever tied a white woolly bugger before.
Can you share the proper bead MM size to select and Estaz size? Thx Creekfisher1
Hi , is the white bead head plastic? thanks in advance

@MainelyFlies Have you ever heard of a trout fly called the "Reservoir"?? It's a very good fly and I've caught a lot of trout using that fly..
Will this fly be sold on your site in the near future?

I could see this working in murky Texas farm ponds. #flies
What was the secret? Also, how about finishing with orange or red Ice dubbing to create a hotspot. That said, good looking bugger.
Nice fly. #flies
That should be killer for bass!
#flies another great video
So what's the secret? Been tying them this way and this color for at least 30 years.
#flies this would b great for stocked trout in Ireland🎣🎣
