    How to remove clip ua-cam.com/video/_hHLg2z1sU4/v-deo.html I bought an o ring from The Hydraulic Shop in Rockhampton for $3.60 it is a 212 o ring ( make sure you get the high temp one ) .. You could most likely buy them from Enzed or Pirtek ... Dont forget to bleed the system when finished..The throttle body line is also an issue,..in fact the entire cooling system can be an issue from the water pump to the oil cooler to the thermostat ... one issue that can start heating issues is the thermo fan,...there is a three stage relay system, which means that the fan engages at 3 specific ranges and sometimes the fan will fail and only engage at high speed at the highest temp setting and the plastic components don't like the excessive heat.

    Good detective work dear Watson👍My daughters Barina had the same issue, upgraded to aluminium thermostat housing & 1 inch return hose. Now my mum's Trax has the exact same thing.
    Shit plastic design connectors & O rings have probably destroyed thousands of otherwise reasonable vehicles.

    Thanks Mate. Appreciate your filming this. Needed to replace the heater hose, and was unsure how to do it. True Blue!

    Thanks for this video. Wife's car has the same leaks and wasn't sure how to attack the problem. A couple of 'O' rings will save around $300 labour and parts. Have already had the plastic small hose and connector replaced once by dealer at great cost and it's weeping. Might have to turn up a brass fitting on the lathe to avoid future problems.

    Bloody legend! Just saved $200 by buying an o ring instead of going to the mechanics

    Thanks for your info mate your a true blue champion. My Missus car is leaking and Holden reckons it’s the heater hoses and quoted me $498 to replace em. I reckon I’ll give your way a crack as the hoses seem fine it’s most likely the o-rings . Cheers mate

    You're a legend! Just the help I needed. I took mine into a mechanic to get one replaced and it looks to small, Also I need a 2nd one replaced and I'm not going back when it's so easy!

      I've been asked that question previously & I couldn't remember then... sorry...
      Your best bet is try a big independent parts store, not supercheap or repco... bursons MAY be able to help...

      @@PopllFixit lmao, small update. I removed one with the good o ring on it and I found out the bloody right angle plug nipple bit on the hose just snapped off anyway. Gotta buy that little bastard somehow now. Hopefully these ones on ebay fit well, the ones with the clip being part of the 90° plug instead of the original clip off.

      I wish you the best of luck. After replacing the small hose, the thermostat housing & the end of the hose TWICE (because the same thing happened as you seem to have had), my daughter's car still has the smallest of leaks but, no one's really that concerned about it...

      @@PopllFixit just so I know,
      Do you know what I mean when I say the clip that's a part of the Right Angle plug and the one that clips off but still holds it on?
      If so, should they be the same size?
      Edit: Thank you for the luck. I really need it!

    Same sound my car is making atm. I notice when I look inside, there's a small clear hose near the battery that seems to be disconnected. No idea where I connect that to. Looked around that area.. stumped.

      @PopllFixit  5 років тому +1

      To be honest, I don't recall what size (lol). give me a day or two & I can find out.
      Otherwise, just take one of the old ones to any auto parts store, not supercheap or auto one but, somewhere that sells actual parts such as repco or bursons & they should be able to match them for you & sell you individual items, not a pack of 20...
      I bought mine from Bellinghams here in Warwick for a couple of dollars each...

    Was there any leaking into the cabin area

    • @PopllFixit
      @PopllFixit  4 роки тому

      No, only in the engine bay. If you have a coolant leak INSIDE the cabin, the heater core is leaking & should be attended to. Unfortunately, that's a MUCH bigger job...

    MAIN REASON FOR SUCH A FAILURES IS OVERHEAT DUE TO TO FAIL THERMOSTAT ,,,,that thortle body heater hose is not genuine one, seems to be some one or dealer mechanic replace cheaper one... OEM throttle body hose is made out of reinforce steel ,,, cruse are easy to repair and easy to maintenance,,,,,, only main issue is dealers do not service properly .... oil cooler and thermostat and transmission should be more concern (service AS PER GM SPECIFICATION)
    AFTER DRIVEN 100000 OR MORE YOU MUST REPLACE OIL COOLER AND THERMOSTAT WITH HOUSING, CRUSE MUST SERVICE ACCORDING TO GM SPECIFICATIONS NOT DEALERS SPECIFICATION ..

    • @PopllFixit
      @PopllFixit  4 роки тому

      The throttle body heater hose on the CHEVY Cruze may be steel but, on the HOLDEN Cruze (which is a completely different car mechanically), it's molded plastic, which is what caused the issue when it exploded & sprayed coolant all over the engine bay. The $90 genuine replacement is the same.
      Since making this video, the thermostat & housing have been replaced & the oil cooler was replaced six months prior to the overheating issue...

    Change out the thermostat and water outlet with the all metal. So much better and get a new throttle body hose because the male connection plastic breaks inside the water outlet female connection. Save yourself the headache later guys. The thermostat housing is a bad design.

      You'll see, in the video linked above, the thermostat housing has now been replaced with the metal version, along with the thermostat, coolant temp sensor & throttle body cooling hose end...
      This repair was simply to get the car driveable...
