i am a housing designer, and also a venue host, this update and the feature to allow small and medium house to upgrade interior to large is a Biggest W to me in entire of ffxiv life span
Go outside
Get a real job
@@livamyyo Killjoy. Let people be happy about their lil MMO hobby
@@livamyyowhy? Because they are a venue owner? So what. I’m a venue owner. RPer, Raider, GPoser, and go outside, have a wife and play other games. What do you do again in this game?…. Nothing??? Oh okay :)
I am happy for you since with the interior expansions will be good for your venue events to give you more room! ^_^
They should’ve added a player housing feature into island sanctuary so every player could have a house regardless of number of plots/ward.
YES, I was hoping they did that when they announced. If the island sanctuary was a complete housing system and all that, with the exterior and interior itens and appearence it would completely change things.
But again, I also hoped we could have our companion chocobo free walking in the island.
@@YueAki To a point. With it being friends list restricted. Venue owners wont have a use for it. Apt would hold more value to those using them as social hubs.
@@ac04project Yeah but then the wards and normal housing could be used for the social hubs right?
I tried FFXIV, but the lack of permanent outdoor instanced housing had me going back to Black Desert Online and Elder Scrolls Online.
I'd for sure be playing FFXIV if the game gave us a way to plop down the type of house we want in an instanced outdoor place.
WITH windows that open.
It sucks that we can't see the outside from within homes in FFXIV. Feels claustrophobic.
Seeing the trees, garden, etc from inside makes housing look so much better.
I almost always have some kind of fruit tree reachable from my kitchen window.
@@zenwilds2911 With that profile picture, you should consider going back to second life instead.
I am a small house owner, I have been hoping and praying that Yoshi-P would say something like upgrade the interior like this. And he delivered. Happy day happy day. I do not care if I need to pay full price for a large, I got the gil, more then enough, I will pay the toll.
Same. 👍🏽
I want to upgrade to a medium size interior lol
I have a small too, and this is great. Though I do still hope that we can get more storage for the exterior. I like to change up my trees to reflect the season, and having four-five sets of trees takes up a lot of space on its own
Im a small house owner ive been trying to upgrade for over a year now loosing more lotteries then i care to count, while im sure this wont increase my yard size which i would also like, just knowing i can just upgrade what i have is so nice to know
I want the ability to have different lighting on different floors. Like full bright on one floor and completely dark on another. Or at least a lighting fixture that turns the whole floor dark.
Yes! This would be huge.
YES.
Definitely!
I'm happy for all the FCs stuck with S houses.
My first thought, we can finally put forth some time lord tech and get T.A.R.D.I.S space
@@TwinBladeGlacier I literally just thought to myself "Someone's gonna make a T.A.R.D.I.S FC" LOLOL then I see this!! hahaha
I have a L house on the goblet. I just want more slots. 400 isnt enough for a L house.
oh true, I thought they had mentioned increasing the slots a while ago, I wonder if that's coming with this whole size expansion thing.
Yes absolutely, they said they'd be increasing it but no sign or mention since
I'd assume the upgrade to housing slots will be added later. I think they said they wanted to focus on graphics first before working on the housing slots. I think it was suggest it be 7.4 by the time they got around to it. But I agree 400, isn't enough for an L house. But you can be creative. There are a lot of people who make L houses look amazing and full. I wouldn't expect them to add more than 50 to 100 housing slots. Because there just isn't enough memory for FF14 to do it.
@@HailDeadFella it is because it was state din the last live letter before 7.0 went live that they would be focusing on graphics first. They have to update the systems with the new graphics ect so they can add more items to the overworld.
@@iceman3317 well if all smalls are going to be L on the inside now, then yes apparent they do have the memory
Now if they would put in new floor layouts. Not just removing pillars but moving the stairways into different locations instead of being in the same static spots. Hopefully that's on the table too.
needed 100%
I was thinking they could add more layouts beyond 3 types we have rn in the future now. Dunno if they will, I'd rather have more freedom to move stairs, but they could take that direction as well
While true freedom to place things like stairs would be best, I'd be happy with them making new layouts. There is probably less data to deal with as well if they go down that route.
Housing designers gonna get rich with this update
I'm available for hire...😂
Even just selling the furniture will earn us quite a bit of gil. And a nice gil-sink for everyone else.
@@Maymei99 Now this is a great thought!!
@@moonbunny5637i need you
@@moonbunny5637yeah but using 3rd party programs for monetary gain on vanilla users is shady. Just teach them makeplace
I don't care about the interior, i just want more than 20 items on the outside of my small house
Same, lol. S is (or was, at least) the most friendly when it comes to space\items\price, but the outside sucks badly. My main problem is that we can't even actually grow flowers outside. It's easier to make a fake gadren indoors with such a stupid outer limitations, because we have more plants and flowers as 'indoor furnishing', and more slots to work with.
at LEAST give us 25!
25-30 yeah lol
Speak for yourself I want it all lol
as a small house owner, all i want is more than 200 slots, more than 3 planters, no pillars, and no restrictive placement system for decorations. That's it.
if they would make appartments inside with the size of a house, i would cry in joy.
Even if only a small. Would be really nice
So we basically got a T.A.R.D.I.S situation goin on then.
I'm down for it
LOL I already can see a lot of Doctor Who themed houses in the future now that you mention it! XD
Had that same thought lol.
I was about to say this😂
I thought the same thing.
The Master’s TARDIS comes to mind.
This is a nice thing to get.
But one of my biggest issue with the housing still is the clunky/restrictive placement system for decorations. Where you need to use tricks/glitches to get more creative.
It is just so annoying to use.
Just look at what Guild Wars 2 did now with their new housing system. Movement tools for all dimensions, scaling for decorations and rotation on all directions too + no limitations on items needing to attach to specific surfaces.
I know that FF14 has some serious limitations in the coding but we really need better tools for decorating.
At this point I'd be afraid of them trying any big overhaul of the system. Imagine if the fix accidentally kills the ability to glitch.😅
Its not limitation, they can fix it if they want. Thats why we burn the house down... IYKWIM
Gotta save up my gil to make it a large! 😂 such a good thing ! And houses without pillars yaaaaaaaaaas❤🎉
I actually LOVE this idea of upgrading the inside. I have a medium house and I love how it looks outside but I've always thought about trying for a large because I like the interior design better. So this is literally a perfect change in my book. Also very excited about interiors without all the pillars and stuff because I HATE them.
This exactly. I love the outside of my medium, but the stairs inside, bleh.
i'm still wary of them over-promising on this front, but even just being able to select interiors is a massive quality of life upgrade and we have proof it exists in some form. i'm hoping that the size upgrade wasn't just a "yoshi p vague promise" sort of thing like so many others.
hm... its an interesting idea. I love getting rid of pillars, at least on the smaller layouts (ngl, the large ones kinda beg the question of how the wings are staying up) and I'd probably shift my small to a medium in size. Now if only they would expand the exteriors to all have 40 items standard...
"With Goblet being the least..." *scoffs in his Plot 23 Goblet house with a scenic overlook and no immediately visible neighbors from my outdoor bath*
Would be nice if apartments could at least upgrade to small.
Absolutely, yes! The restriction with only one house per account is bad enough already so please just give us big flats for our other characters too!
Agreed, though what I always felt apartments needed was a small balcony where you could set up outdoor furnishings. Even if it was just a handful of slots it would be better than nothing, back when I only had an apartment I had tons of exterior furnishings stored on a retainer useless.
I’ve been happy with my small cottage for a long time, but I’m so happy to have this option if I decide I want more space in the future! I’m THRILLED to get rid of the pillars though. Can’t wait for that.
This is amazing it’s helping to relive a huge amount of issues we’ve had over the years!! Let’s hope to keep seeing more improvements over the patches ❤
So i can upgrade the interior of my medium house to be a manor. if so that is awesome
We can't but they are talking about it. Hopefully they will carry through on it!
Yes, this will be implemented in one of the future patches, just not the one coming in November.
Hopefully the extra item slots come with it.
Im excited for the changes. I always found the default pillars/walls/windows to be awkward to build around in certain builds.
I sometimes spend like half the build limit putting up custom walls and ceilings to get around it.
I'm a housing designer, im excited that you are able to get rid of poles. it will bring alot of change to mainfloor designs. Hopefully this also brings options to take out light fittings. Best part about being able to change inside lay outs is goblets interior roof, its horrible to work with when you have raised parts in the house
can i hire you?
I think luxury apartments with a balcony would solve the issue of making Apartments so limited. It would allow you to do some farming as well.
This is all I actually want. Apartments feel like almost a joke in how limited they are, but tons of people would be happy with them with just some basic improvements. Give us a double-sized apartment with a little balcony space so we can finally access gardens and use some of the outdoor stuff.
Making every small house a Tardis is kinda weird, but I'm very hyped about the interior swapping and pillar removal. Strange they didn't mention increasing the furnishing cap though, that's the thing I'm looking forward to the most this expansion. 400 for a large just isn't enough.
I'm cool with keeping my small as a small for the cozy vibe, what I'd really love is a furnishing limit increase. Increasing the outdoors furnishings would be particularly amazing too, and I thought they did mention something about that before Dawntrail's release, so hopefully that's slated somewhere in there at some point.
As an owner of a personal Medium, I'm looking forward to upgrading my interior to the large! I love my plot placement, but the added room would be a godsend!
The only thing keeping most housing people away from Larges is the lack of them + the lottery system. Current Large owners don't need to be "compensated" for being lucky.
And they would still have a large lawn and large house façade along with prime locations.
Adding it to the fact that some large owners actually shared gil between their alts to bid massivelly on that house, and that gil came from... "not totally legal" means.... yes, they don't need to be compensated
I'll add in, there's also the fact that you already have had the large for longer than other people. You may have paid more, but you also got to use it more and for longer, effectively negating any extra you might have paid over others.
@@anthonydelfino6171 In fact, they paid less. Buying a small, you'll need to pay a full price for the upgrade, as it seems. So the price will be higher for a less interesting location and without the outside view
@@DJ-Moonwolf possibly true! It just depends on how they handle the upgrade cost. Will it consider deducting the cost already paid or not?
We'll have to see what decision they make
Removing the pillars is the biggest win for me. I've spent so many hours and sacrificed items counts to obscure them.
I would guess the price for upscaling the interior will probably be the difference between the value of the plots, so if that is the case, the price will always be in the millions. I think going from medium to large would be roughly 35 million gil.
When the upscaling is added, I'll be urging my FC's leader to change the FC estate's interior from medium to large and I'll be changing my personal estate's interior from medium to large.
A+ for pillars. A+ for different interior walls. A+ for different size housing interiors. I've wanted different sized interiors since I began playing. Even tho I finally have my large this is still awesome.
4:10 remember Yoshi-P saying this during the fall DT- announcements (last November)
Same announcement that included the announcement of post-ew stuff and the beastmaster class
This has the potential for a new category in the market board, interior design, other than the ones we already have, (ex. Mist, Goblet) imagine one already decked out in a Christmas theme, or one filled with Halloween decorations from Sneaky Hollow,
I do wonder how much money I've spent to keep my house and FC house. If it was just instanced like Island Sanctuary, then I imagine I could've saved a very sizable chunk of money, especially since content is spread so far apart now.
Omg I'm literally in tears of joy knowing I can turn the inside of my small house into a large.. omg omg!!!!
I really, really hope they allow for apartments to expand!!!
give everyone the same size outside but make the inside upgradeable so you can just make it larger. the house starts as a small, pay a fee to upgrade it to a medium and pay again to upgrade to a large. the price could stay the same but instead of one large lump sum, people with less gil can just do it gradually over time and end up with the big house they want.
Shit. Maybe I shouldn’t have moved from my small to a medium last week? I actually liked my old location better and the lawn was easier to decorate.
I feel for you. I bought and traded up housing locations until I got the one I wanted. It is the best location in the game in my opinion and is a small house.
@@annewandering lucked out and have plot 41 and 42 in the mist. The value of them both just went up! :D
@@ac04project How do you have two plots?
@@annewandering I own an fc n pvt plot
@@ac04project ahh that makes sense then. You have a very nice area.
I'm only partway through endwalker, but don't have the drive to actively play the MSQ right now. And it's been that way for a couple of months now. I'm 100% one of those people just logging in to check on my housing plot and keep it in good standing. >_>;;
This is great for peeps with Small and Medium houses, and even apartments if you'd be able to expand those too.
Large folks are left out, though it would be nice to turn houses into a "Gil" sink even more by having them expandable - say, 10 times at first, then another patch allows you to expand 20 times and so on. So you start with the 400 space limit for large, and gain another 100 space per expansion you buy (perhaps?)
Or allow for different layouts perhaps? Like say
Small can upgrade to medium and large
Medium to large
and Large remains large
But if you have a small you can get unique interior layouts for Small only, with the upgraded medium and large being only the default layout.
Same for medium and large. This would prevent the plots from becoming obsolete as it were, because why now bother going for a large plot when you can get a small one and still have the same large interior?
But if you can get a unique interior for a large plot you can ONLY get if the original plot itself is large.. now that adds value.
Also yes, more items please. Both interior and exterior
Whos going to want a small plot, with a demo timer, if you can get that without the demo time?
I"M SO looking forward to this for an alt that has a "photo studio" setup in a small. If I get to turn her inside into a large, it will mean I can properly lay it out like an actual photo studio. A spot for looking at "proofs," a welcome area, and more settings!!!
I recently lucked out in the lottery and was able to get a medium house in Lavender Beds and knowing I can renovate it into a large in the future is amazing news! I've been wanting to build a venue ever since I was able to grab my first small so this is going to help immensely with that dream!
Large Lav Beds and Mist apartment owner. I designed my plot as a RP place back when I was really into it. I am looking forward to the non-pillar large interiors, but sad that everything would have to be re-attached one by one. I may very well wait until we get more space before using this feature as it would make me re-evaluate my design and may change a lot of how it looks and how the players would interact/immerse with the location.
Today I was able to get my house back after accidentally letting my timer to lapse, due to some severe health issues I had to deal with this year. I was so relieved -- and then I saw this video. I'll have to be more careful to make sure I log in to take advantage of this change of large interiors in the future... honestly a dream come true, and something I had had imagined/dreamed of having ever since Endwalker. \o/
I am excited and such but I still think people will bitch and complain simply for a few reasons and it ALL has to due with apartments.
Apartments now NEED:
1) Availability to the LARGEST (and can customize if you want smaller.) at LEAST ONE Garden. To make thavnarian onions and any other crops.
2) Tenancy; yes. People get married in this game. Become couples. People SCREAM for instanced housing even though instanced housing is dogsh-t and should never happen. Apartments can turn into this while keeping non-instanced housing from the game. This also allows people to get the amazing housing designers to work on their homes.
3) Item limits (this goes for all plots not just apartments) need to double at a minimum. Ideal is double and a half. Theres too many items in this game and the slots are SO limited it makes you unable to do EVERYTHING you want without saying "well guess I gotta cut the budget somewhere"
Yes, I'd love an option for houses and apartments alike where from the door you can go to like a balcony that acts as an outdoor area. Make it instanced, of course (like how each house is its own instance), and allow that to also be upgradeable. Now, sure, it's a bit janky a solution, but it will allow greater flexibility with crops. And can allow for more room for retainers and stuff too.
Or perhaps make it so that when you go into the area of a house, it triggers an instance. We've already seen they can detect when someone enters the garden because if they're banned from entering the grounds, it teleports them away. This could then be used to allow us to upgrade the garden, and since the zone would be instanced (it could just display blank houses for the others in the zone). If the garden has been changed from its natural size for the plot, then it goes into an instance. If it's the same size, then it would function as it currently does.
The garden areas in apartments would obviously still be instanced, but you could make it so it still looks like a house you're entering back into. So then you can still use those items like the exterior walls.
I'd also love to see the company crafted housing items to become separated items, too, so you can mix and match. Also, if the exterior and interior are both set to large, please enable it so the door on the upper floor will actually go out to the balcony (and you can go in to the upper floor via that door as well)
Wildstar Online did housing right if it did ANYTHING right.
Shame other MMOs didn't take notes.
I always thought a neat idea for housing is to allow people to build their homes to the size they'd like. Like how one can build 'shells'. Allow the plots the proper room to have all sizes of the house so, depending the size one desires their home to be - a person/crafter can gather mats and then can build to that size. Once sizes are crafted, one can freely change between them depending on what they'd like for their home. But the size change of the interior? -that- is amazing! It's always amazing to be able to find time to relax and design interiors in downtime while decompressing from the day's errands.
I got a medium plot a bit before Dawntrail came out and was so excited for the upgrade from the small I had when the most recent wards opened. This housing update is going to be so nice, especially for FCs that have small plots. Now it’s time to start building back up my bank retainer for the eventual update for the large interior!
I've been wanting to go from a small to medium but I love where my house is located. So this news has me so excited!
I've been off the Free Trial for about a month now, I hoarded everything i could while on the FT so i could save up for a small house once i got off. I got extremely lucky and won a small house in lavender beds on Sargatanas on my 4th try. I admittedly havn't been in the housing scene at all before now, but I can imagine this being super useful for Free companies! There were so many small plots that were exclusive to FC's that had no bids on them, and i think the ability to upgrade the interior later on will open up more options for people who want to host events at their FC house
as someone that has a small and has been tryin to upgrade to a medium or large, this would be a very welcome change, as the house i have now is next to a friend, would also mean we could stay neighbors without having to transfer houses, only downside would be exterior item storage i would assume stay the same, as well as placement limits (i.e. 20 items, 1 farm plot)
I love my Med. plot location. Making the interior larger has me stoked!
"It's Bigger on the Inside" All the best to you Meoni! Ty!
This kind of work on housing server-side limitations just to make it more accessible and universal gives me some honest hope that maybe we'll see work on functioning armoires/glamour dressers among other features not available in _housing_ that are available elsewhere.
Maybe past that we'll see additional functions towards housing outside of what we've already had- i'd love to see some moghouse-esque features hit FFXIV.
I have a small property and i love the idea of having more room for decorating on the inside
This sounds amazing to me.
We have been stuck in a small house since launch with the dreams of one day upgrading.
This has a nice two fold: We can finally get a bigger place (to support my designing habits) and our small FC won't be taking a large plot better suited for large FC.
Love the changes, i just wish they did a glamourchest type thing for floors and walls where aquired ones are selectable from the menu
These are all nice changes that's for sure, what I'd love to see is them having different configurations for the houses too, at the moment all houses have 1 bellow ground floor and 1-2 above ground floor, what I'd love to see if them playing with that so you could for example have 3 above ground floors but no cellar on large house or just 1 above ground floor and 2 bellow ground ones.
EDIT:I also don't mean giving extra floor but rather changing which floor has the entry door (and possibly redoing the stairs too).
DELIGHTED for this! All my house dreams bout to come true!!!
I have a large plot that I fought for and I am so happy that fewer people have to go through that process, it's pretty stressful. I hope people with large plots now don't feel like wasted effort, you can still have fun with your large exterior and I think positive moves for the largest amount of players is positive for all players, we want as good an environment for people as possible. Plus, there's significantly less pressure now to continue my sub when I'm not playing as much!
gamer changer for anyone who has a small or med. I just recently got a small and after hearing about these possible changes its been exciting to know i dont have to do the bidding war with 500 people on my server to get a large just to have the bigger inside. I wish outside items can be bumped up some. 20 items for a small its tough.
I'm so extremely excited!! I have a medium in ishgard and is my dream home but the feeling of being able to finally have a castle with a large interior im over the moon! Super stoked for this update!
I've got a small in Ishgard and absolutely love it but bigger inside would be so nice especially considering how big some things are like the pictures of the 12 and the scions, not nearly enough wall space in a small for those, let along anything else with them. As of right now I have them spread between my apartment, Fc apartment, and my house lol.
I think one of the more exciting aspects of this is that it should allow for more varied interiors. Sure it might not replace, for example, a proper Solution 9 Housing District but this could "easily" allow them to provide Solution 9 interiors for houses regardless of district. Or maybe something like an actual Abandoned Factory interior that doesn't require using half of your available furniture placements just to make it look that way.
I have a small personal, as well as a small for an FC, and I love, love, love to decorate, but just have the worst luck trying to get bigger plots. Being able to basically buy the interior I want would be amazing!
Then I could dye in of the homes tardis blue and it would actually be bigger on the inside.
My FC would love this upgrade.
We run a MINE team, and after each clear we create the furniture piece using the crafting mat of the boss we just beat. But, even before we've gotten out of ARR we're already running out of space to display these items, in addition to the actual housing items we have there too (things like our basement club/bar, the "business office" in the entryway, etc.)
I do wonder, if you upgrade your interior to be a larger size, does that also include increases to the limitation of things that are restricted based on size:
Number of NPCs in the house, number of crafting stations, etc.
Sounds awesome!! I hope they give something to the large house owners as well. I, myself, own a small house and I'm very excited to have a large space 🎉
I love this idea. I got a small in Endwalker and while I am okay with a small yard I hated the small interior. I may still upgrade to a medium but having the option to upgrade the interior and not move is amazing.
For the most part (with some exceptions) the locations for small and medium plots are way nicer than the ones for mansions. My private plot is #27 in Shirogane and my FC one I share with a friend is #16 in Lavender Beds and have no desire to move as I love both locations (this might partially copium as I cba with the lottery system anymore lol). If I can just spend a substantial pf gil to upgrade the interior - better if the item count is also increased - I'd be more than happy.
If it costs 40-50 million gil to upgrade to a mansion that seems fair as that's what you'd bid on a large plot anyway And for those who got lucky with large plots they still get the prestige of having a mansion, larger gardens, three gardening plots, bigger custom house walls etc. Sounds more than fair to me.
as someone who owns plot 1/31 in shirogane i am literally set for life
fellow owner of Shiro #27 here lol!! i told my bf i will NEVER move from our plot, i love it sm and we have so many memories there at our house already 😭😭😭❤️ this is such an incredible win especially as we're thinking of opening a venue! happy for us, and thanks Meoni!!!
I have a great spot for my small plot in Lavender Beds right in front of a marketboard, crystal and summon bell with the vendors. The only reason why I want to go to medium is just to get the bigger yard as I have the new cottage and it eats up so much of the yard. Plus a medium will let me have the swing.
With them adding variable interior size of houses, I am hoping that we could get actual windows.
Explanation:
You go inside your newly bought house.
From the inside you can leave through a backdoor that does not go to a new instance but instead an instanced outdoor furnishing area.
This may or may not reflect the housing zone.
And you can have actual windows that you can look outside through. Though these might have to be holes in the wall since I'm not sure if ffxiv has transparent materials
Perhaps now I can finally build that bathroom I meant to create for myself when I got a house, being able to remove pillars like that.
As someone that has my own medium and the leader of an fc where i got us a large fc house i am so excited for these changes i can actually decorate the fc house how i want XD
used to be it was hard for a FC to get a house, now there are dozens of plots Designated as FC only that go empty and players can't lot on them either. I have a house on the far edges of the goblet, only cost me 2.9 mi l( at the time) but has a summoning bell and market board just outside my gate. i found this a plus.
This change is huge for me! I've been trying to get a medium or large plot for a while now without luck but now i can just go for any plot i want!
I also planned on a modern design for the house so the new Modern Design without the Pillars is just perfect :D
Thanks again Meoni for another great, insightful video! As someone who's been stuck in a small for ages, this is really exciting for me!
I'm stupidly excited for this, I've been trying to get a medium for years, just because I need more indoor space. I'm going to start saving up for a larger space. I'm satisfied with my yard space in the small.
Would be really nice to see larger apartments. I would also love it if you could save/load a few different versions of your apartment. I want to try new designs but I don't want to delete all my previous work!
I AM SO STOKED FOR THE HOUSING CHANGES!!!!
This is the sort of stuff they should be focusing on. Improving whats already there and giving us more tools for expression. I really want to see the character creator get a big update.
As someone who has pretty much given up on getting a house and having to be content with an FC room/Apartment, I do hope for expanded room. The main reason I would want a house though is for the exterior bits. 'Cause yeah it's easy to get outdoor furnishing, but we can't use them in an apartment.
I very recently got a Medium house. But I actually really enjoy the small plots in each housing district more than the M’s or L’s! There are so many more Smalls out there which means there’s more variety and uniqueness for a plot. I’m seriously considering downgrading (I’ll probably wait until we get a hard confirmation of when this feature is coming, and as time gets closer to that patch) from my Medium to a small. I am going to have to go plot shopping!!! And rank what my favorite locations are!!
I also have an FC that’s basically just me and my sister. We have a small plot in The Firmament, the one by the snowmen, and we knew we wouldn’t ever be able to upgrade because we love that plot and have no intention of leaving it. So this is great news for that! I could totally see upgrading the interior to a medium, keeping the cozy vibes but adding more to it!
I was lucky to land a small back in 6.1, and our FC got a small as well, both in Empyreum. I grinded like crazy so that I could eventually upgrade to a medium, and have bids dozens of times with zero luck. While I would be sad about not getting an upgrade on outdoor slots, having more interior space for an appropriate amount of gil will be a huge help.
I own a medium house and yeah I've always thought about trying to go for a large. But idk how I fee about having the interior changeable. For me personally, having a small house on the outside and a super large interior just breaks the realism because in the back of your mind you know that all this space can't possibly fit in here cause its just a small house. And I know a lot of games do that where the inside is an instance and can hold way more than what the outside suggests, but since they are on plots themselves and you go into a tiny plot and and hit with a massive interior it just doesn't feel real. But I think that its cool that they did this for those players that want the extra space and it might be tempting for me to upgrade my medium interior to a large, but what I would REALLY like is for them to just increase the amount of placed and stored items in the current version of houses. I would love to just keep adding on to what I already have in my medium if they would just increase the 300 limit.
I am a large plot owner, and part of an FC that specifically moved Data Centers to acquire a FC large plot. I don't mind small/medium houses having the ability to upgrade interior so long as they eventually do something substantial for the exterior limitation issue to ensure there is still value in large plots. A 40 slot limit for the exterior of a large is criminal, especially if people can just buy smalls now and get the value of a large by upgrading the interior. I would expect to see something like 100L - 50M - 25S for exterior slot limitations per housing size.
SO glad I missed out on all those mansions lately! Cheers Yoshi-P!
first of all, thank you for the video, sir.
the upcoming changes to the housing sound fantastic. but I hope that we don't have to wait forever for it, like we did for the island... and I hope that I won't be just as disappointed by it.
our little FC has a small house. you are welcome to come by and take a look: Phönix [LIGHT] Empyreum 20th district, 29 [Small]
but... what I'm still missing, though, is an editor that lets me put EVERYTHING in and around the house WHERE I want! it's possible, add-ons show how it's done. but I DON'T WANT to use add-ons. it can't be that difficult to finally implement it officially!
I own a private small in the Mist that I've been happy with location but just wishing I had more slots or if they allowed the second floor to be above rather than below. This change to our interior style and size will go a long ways though. I'm certain people are going to be buying up every small available now regardless of location.
I've got a small, and am currently happy with it, I however fought at that signpost for 11+ hours straight, no breaks to claim it, while I've had the Gil for a large for a good while, I fought long and hard for mine, and I'm not willingly giving it up, lol this change to make them "bigger on the inside" sounds great to me, I can keep the plot I fought long and hard for, and have it be larger on the inside, being able to swap the interiors around sounds nice too, as long as what gets put away can actually exceed storage, because if not that's gonna be a pain.
I own a medium house and I definitely hate the pillars. They are a pain in the ass to decorate around! I think it's a really cool idea to add the renovation option for smaller houses. I don't know if I'd apply to a medium house but it would be great if apartments could be renovated to give them more space.
I have two small houses and honestly the one that's a personal home I would probably leave as it is. It's cozy. But my other character's house is her atelier and shop, so that one it would be nice to be able to expand. Might consider changing the inside look on it too (not that Shirogane's interior is bad or anything).
I'd love to see them add another city for housing though, such as Sharlayan or Solution 9. I'd even consider moving if they added either of those. I think they'd both make for wonderful neighborhoods.
Even if it takes them a while to put this in, it's renewed my interest in trying to get a house. Was trying to get a medium for a while but if I could just grab one of the handful of small houses that tend to be available on my server and buy a medium interior, that will work.
As a medium house owner who hunts for the large ones, this is a welcome change! I'm not much of a designer myself but I want to just experiment with housing designs in general. My only gripe still is, I really want to own a larger plot because of gardening XD. I love gardening but heck, 1 or 2 isn't enough, to be honest. I'm still waiting for a new housing location though :D
I own a private Medium in Shiro and I'm really looking forward to expanding it's interior to a large!!
I am SO excited to turn my beach side small Mist house into a medium or large, very excited for this! 💜💜 My plot os perfect but always wished I could have 3 floors and do more with with space and this is absolutely amazing news. My favourite thing from the live letter. Im currently levelling crafters from 70 to 100 so hopefully once Im done with that I can grind some gil to get my house interior upgrade 😊
As an owner of a small who's been trying to save up for a large, I could see this as a great alternative. Although, I'd still like a medium or large for the bigger yard. Mine's a bit cramped.... 😂
I have a small house in The Goblet that's by the pool and don't want to leave. This is great!
Freelance designer here. I hope this system leads into allowing more styles of interior layout, not just swapping the currently available presets or adding different looks to existing layouts. Like adding completely different interior layouts like one that's just one big room without basement or top floor, a layout that's a tower with many floors or layouts that match specific exteriors, not just in visual style but in overall floor-plan. I'd love one that matches the new exterior with the tree; no windows on the side with the chimney, a set fireplace where the chimney is, doors leading to the back porch and the shed to the side, a bey window for the floor above the shed, rooms upstairs where the roof slants and perhaps the interior of the tree part itself.
Either way, any added optional customization is always a win to me. If I don't like it, I can ignore it.
Would be cool if you could move the entry way to where you wanted it. Coming in at the top of the stairs would be way better for certain designs.
im almost more excited for no pillars more than turning my interior from a small plot to a large plot lol... those pillars make it so like a third of the floor can't be used! its CRAZY how nothing can be put up against a wall... but i, for one, welcome our new Tardis homes!
