- The defendant hired the plaintiff, a lawyer, to represent her in a civil case. He claims the defendant won’t pay him because they lost, so he’s suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff guaranteed he would win the case. She appealed the decision and won, so she doesn’t think she owes because she has already paid him a ton of money in fees.

The defendant's way of explaining things is annoying as hell. Get to the point!!
@@khadijahholder702 chop chop 🤣
I guess that’s that lawyer talk 😂
It's a liars tactic.
Then she cries like a baby at the end.
Thank you
Some people are not good storytellers…. The defendant is one of them 🤔
Hearing her speak gives me a headache.
Just awful!
Like pulling teeth 😬
She is so full of it her eyes should turn brown. Liar. Liar. But he totally got his money. Greedy.
😂😂😂😂
Something tells me the defendant is going to make many more people miserable in her lifetime.
She seems like a dumb and lazy thinker
😂😂😂
She sure made me!
I hate when people manipulatively cry in order to gain sympathy.
You can't know that was her reasons. I'd cry too in that situation. Court is stress, court is awful! lawyers are dickheads.
Right. Those tears dried right up when JM said, "Verdict for the plaintiff."
@FirefliesMulti you are defending her under every comment 😂 you her
I agree!!! Girl you agreed to pay, stop crying and PAY
Crocodile tears 😭
I find it VERY INTERESTING that she supposedly has all of that evidence, won the motion regarding the appeal... and then just let it go. Makes me think that she didn't have as good of a case as she claims.
and this predatory lawyer knew she did not have a good case from the start but he wanted that EASY MONEY that he got out of her up front . a good lawyer with ethics would have advised her not to hire an attorney for this situation .
Exactly
@@marleonetti7That’s true. However, it was ultimately her decision to proceed. She’s an adult nit a victim
@@pammers5588 depends on your definition of the word victim . i personally do think she was a victim because he is a degreed , trained , experienced , and professional attorney at law and she is not , and its part of the responsibility of a lawyer to give ethical and good legal advice even if it may mean losing free easy money from those who are ignorant of the legal processes and all the laws on the books . he took advantage of her trust in him as an experienced lawyer and got 7 k out of her for doing very little to nothing for her , so i dont agree with the judge on this one and judges are not always right on their verdicts .
@@marleonetti7 This!!!! Totally agree.
Paying your lawyer 8k for a case that could win you at most only 5k max is highway robbery.
I think if she had won, the other party would have had to pay lawyer fee's. She was mislead, into believing that she'd win. He' s a liar. L:ike Most lawyers are. Trust me I've dealt with the bastards
I think they call that "stupidity." Unless the attorney gives you that guarantee in writing, it's not a guarantee. The only time you don't have to pay an attorney if they lose your case is when they advertise and put it in writing that if they lose, you don't pay. Even then, they still charge you for any legal documents obtained to prove your case. The agreement states that only the attorney fees are waved, all other charges are due no matter what. Those fees can be thousands and you still may never see a dime from the party you sued. Most documents have to be "certified" in order to be considered factual evidence and that is very costly, no attorney is going to forgive that cost. If they did, the cases that they won would cost the winning clients a lot more than they already do to make up for the lost revenue.
For some people, it's principle over money!
No attorneys fees unless the contract provided for it it the general rule and this contract certainly did not provide for it. So, the attorney certainly knew that there was the potential for net loss for his client but took the case none-the-less. In my experience attorneys will gladly take your money for their "service" that leaves you worse off. His self-absurdness is also typical in my experience. "I did the work, so what if it left her worse off" He is a parasite sucking the blood from our low-trust society. Even Harvey thinks - to his core - that just hire the attorney and let them do it for you. It's a remarkable species, the attorney. They look like us, they talk like us, but they will eat us and our children alive and say they are providing a "service'.
that lazy good for nothing lawyer couldnt win the case he was hired for and was already paid 7 grand for but he could get motivated to do what was necessary to win against the poor defendant . he is the reason many people believe most lawyers are scumbags .
The defendant chooses her words VERY carefully. That way she can't be tied down to anything. "Single mom" until it didn't serve her purpose. I'm 100 percent sure this is what happened with the car.
Used dem tears too before realizing it wasn’t gonna help her
Exactly, the way she speaks she is obviously being very selective what she shares…if you were open and honest it’d just flow even if you were nervous…
Saying she will teacher her kids to not be used or make the same mistakes yeah she was trying her best to win but these Judges dont buy into BS they will listen to see where the BS is
So this weird situation, her annoyed tone in answering questions AND the police harassed her husband....the Perpetual Victimized Karen
"I would never tell my daddy's income....it's way more than that!!"

The defendent has Absolutely 0 people skills.
She is so annoying!
@@kstar3434 Exactly 💯
Those tears dried right up once she lost.
Like she wasn’t even crying in the first place
Talking to the defendant has to be exhausting 😒
The defendant annoyed me with her crying. Clearly she didn’t know/think he would stand on business and sue for the remaining balance. It’s not about trust, it’s the principle.
She paid out thousands but couldn't be bothered with a few hundred more to settle her bill... I don't get it.
She also stopped crying right after the judge ruled lol
She made me mad to be like I look at him as a father figure but was real adament that she dismissed him.
How u gon dismiss ur father in one sentence then cry in the next. Lady stop.
He did his job. Not just that, u won the motion to appeal but did nothing with it. You had all this evidence he could've used but u didn't use it either. Smh. Waste of time
OMG! It's like pulling teeth with this defendant!! When it's a LIE it's harder to make the story BELIEVABLE! The entitled little girl crying is a cherry on top!
I’m Glad he Sued her and WON!!!
The defendant and her voice is annoying the hell out of me.
@cynthiacler9284 Pretty rude words when we can't hear your voice and judge you for it too. This may be the internet but that's no reason to be unkind.

Don't care if she's his kids' childhood "friend". Business is Business. Point blank period. She's a KAREN. Fake tears 😢 😂😂😂
@@dem9844yeah that’s why JM tried to talk him out of it…. 🙄🙄🙄
Agreed. I feel like she prob chose him looking for a friends and family deal. Doubt they ever really "knew" each other beyond a few passing times in school.
She totally said her father would pay him. She casually flexed with someone else’s income in public, she would definitely flex in private
I would never say what his income is…but it’s a lot higher.🙄
Why wouldn’t she continue with the appeal if she had so much convincing evidence. Doesn’t make sense to me. And why the heck didn’t she ask her dad for childcare money if he earns so much and she was a single mom, makes even less sense.
Defendant is bizarre. Her case was bizarre. I’m glad her lawyer sued her.
She’s from Gresham, Oregon, but has Portland crazy.
Hey jude, how can you charge 8k in fees and lose. Then sue your client for a couple hours in remaining fees? You make us look bad dude.
You have to register a car annually. The defendant is creepy. As soon as a woman says that phrase "I'm a single mom", I cringe because they use that as a cudgel to get sympathy or whatever they can. Then the tears to top it off. Spoiler alert: She lost the car, the initial case and still had to pay the lawyer. Great example for her kids.
Being a single mom or dad is nothing to be ashamed of. Can be honorable.
@@tealandsilver Of course! And it always was. Back in the day when a person heard someone was a single parent, there was an automatic sympathy because that usually meant the spouse had died. Now? Not so much. First, divorce became more commonplace. Now people don't even 'bother' with marriage. Just get pregnant and move on. Why anyone thinks that is reasonable and not a thing to be avoided is beyond me. But then I'm old and old enough to remember when values and morals weren't getting scoffed at or canceled. Or simply not remembered. America has fallen from grace.
@@mikeyh0ok boomer! Just understand that you raised the generation you are complaining about so maybe some introspection on how you failed your children

My goodness the defendant is annoying as heck. The judge had to drag every detail out of this woman.
I think it is because she is lying...
If her dad makes that much money, why was she struggling and have to sell her car?
Dad's don't need to pay adult children's mistakes
Because she's lying. Just like when she said... She told the cops to take the handcuffs off her F'in husband. Like she's making the rules. She couldn't even get her lies straight.
But most parents will always be there for you if you find yourself in a bad position@malindalieske3044

This defendant is very unlikable. Has a snotty attitude.
I agree
Yep
I was going to pay her the $600. Now I'm not so sure.
the defendant is annoying and those crocodile tears dont fool anyone
And her voice is annoying! When she started talking, I thought her voice was really "froggy!"
How dare the judge suggest he let go of a contract where she owes money!!! Business is business. It's not like they're family.
Wow. You got really offended just because the judge wanted to gossip for a second.
Edit: did you actually think the judge was going to rule against the plaintiff 🤔
“I would never tell my father’s income!”….proceeds to tell his income!! 😂😂😂 🤦🏾♀️
He had to make sure to let us know he was NOT fired.
why not?
That was a lie, she had a letter from the lawyer where he admits she let him go.
Wouldn't you do the same?
@ZovaBe except it wasn't true. He wrote a letter admitting he was let go. They're both liars
The defendant is painful to listen to...why would you hire someone at 8k when you were only owed 2500? She should have taken it to small claims from the beginning with all her alleged proof ...defendant has noodles for brains and absolutely no common sense.
The Defendant is straight up lying.
"Separated" doesn't mean "single mom".
Give me a break with this defendant whipping out the fake tears when she thought it would help her case. Dried up as soon as the plaintiff won. So sick of women with kids using that to gain empathy. “I’m a single mother”. Turns out she was just separated temporarily and Daddy was helping her financially.
The Defendant has the MOST annoying, gravelly voice I have ever heard. She's also just plain annoying. ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
OMG , her explaining her side of the story is like watching paint dry
“I would never tell my father’s income….. but it’s much more than 2-3 million a year!”.
I don’t feel too bad for her. She should have sued the lady she sold the car too. She was trying so hard not to answer questions and seemed sus.
One thing got lost in this. She mentioned that it was just the documents she didn't pay for, because she herself provided the very documents that he charged her for providing. She didn't come back to that point and she should have.
She said she's a single mom to get sympathy. These women always do this. So what you're a single mom. Geesh
She was never a single mom. They were separated but he was always in the picture. A single mom is a mom with no help. I hate people misusing that term.
@@oldageisdumba single mom is a mom who isn't in a relationship... that is what it means to be single. People incorrectly assuming that being a single mom means the dad is not in the children's lives does not mean we can just change vocabulary words
I was a single mom of three. But my ex is now my friend the children loves us both and we have six grandchildren now.
@@ZovaBe You have fallen in with the much more recent definition created by divorced mom’s to gain sympathy. But pretty much forever it has meant moms with no help. A mom who is “single” as you mean it but with an ex who helps and has dual custody actually gets more breaks than a married mom. Married moms have their kids 24/7. No, sorry, the correct definition is the original one.
She even forgot she was a single mom for a moment there.
She won appeal has al the evidence to win her 5 gran back.. but just let it go.. then came to fight for 650.... not the sharpest tool in the shed

The lady is annoying. She doesn’t know how to tell a cogent
Why didn't the lady sue the babysitter as soon she didn't make the first payment instead of going through all of this she could have saved herself 8 Grand
Great question. Definitely something she's hiding.
She likes to be exhausted.
There's something shady going on with that whole car deal. The way she explained the whole thing seemed very shady, and with the lawyer saying the arbitrator finding both their documents sketchy, it backs that feeling up.
It’s a weird flex for someone saying how difficult they are struggling financially to also drop that their father makes millions of dollars 🤔 This lady strikes me as the type who always has some sort of drama going on in their lives.
This defendant just makes bad choice after bad choice lol
I find it hard to sympathize with her when she allowed the gal to have the car for yrs.. I wouldn't have let it drag on past 2 months. Esp. if the car was still in my name. Her decisions to be stupid were not the lawyers fault.
First time JM didn't talk over the plaintiff and defendant...
Having to pay your bill isn’t being taken advantage of WTF is wrong with you? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
K A R E N. She took advantage of him! She's a forever victim. Business is Business
@@dem9844 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
She "won" after she fired her attorney? All she did was set aside the arbitrator's ruling. All that you have to do to set aside the arbitrator's ruling is to object to it and then you have to go have the case heard by a judge -- which she did not do.
“ and it’s a lot more than that “ I’m dead lmfao. Her lil lying self
The attorney most likely made most of his money waiting on the defendant to finish a dang sentence. She took so long!!
I'm glad the plaintiff won. That woman is a user. Those tears mean nothing. Neither does the single mom argument. I get so sick of women playing that card. VERDICT FOR THE PLAINTIFF!!! Yay!!!
How bout a single dad ya hate them too Same concept Walk in their shoes for awhile and see if you learn anything.
@@tealandsilver Neither should play that card. The world is full of both single moms and dads. This should not be used as an excuse for bad behavior.

Gets in her own way, and then wants everyone else to rally for her? No. Also 'I would NEVER tell him my Fathers income....and its ALOT more than that...' Yeah. She's wasted everyone's time
She would NEVER tell her father's income and proceeds to tell Curt (and the entire viewing audience) his income "is much more than that."
The tears were to gain sympathy, it didn’t work. Good grief lady get to the point, her story took way too long.
6 mins in and its like pulling teeth .. 🤣
She just blew him off because she was unhappy and she couldn't afford what she agreed to. I mean what did she expect to happen when you blow off A LAWYER???!!!

Bartering is a really bad idea.
The defendant can’t answer anything directly… it’s getting my NERVES!!!

If Dad making that much what is the problem
Caught lying. Single mum married
He yelled at her, and she bawled because she looked at him like a father figure. That's the problem. Her father never yelled at her. Spend almost 8k to win over $4k.
The defendant doesn't get paid and she doesn't pay. The irony is outrageous.
How many times has JM said don’t sell your car to friends or relatives or anyone you know and make sure when you sell it don’t give the bill of sale until they’ve paid it all… So I’m guessing she means strangers are OK But everybody is everybody lol😂…
Acting like she was getting her masters or doctorate 😂
It’s really hard to listen to this lady but I imagine she’s nervous like hell so I get it. She needs a hug.
I burst out laughing when she said I would never discuss my father’s financial condition but it is much more than I said
Why is no one talking about how ridiculous it is that he was able to charge over 8k for this
Because lawyers are expensive. Is this new to you?
It’s not ridiculous. He has a set fee of how much things cost. She could have found a cheaper one or gone to small claims. Prices are prices and she agreed to it
The judge needs to mind her business why is she trying to be bias getting the plaintiffs to let go of what he is owed should be a violation of her job . If he wants to collect on what he is owed oh well she already paid 7k to him so he is owed it so just pay the balance owed stop crying about it
Epitome of slimeball atty. $8,000 for a $4500 car and lost. She appeals by herself and wins. SMH
“I would NEVER tell my father’s income … and it’s a lot more” lol what a loser

"I would never tell my father's income to him. You on the other hand I would!!!"
She’s hiding things
Daddy's credit card can't fix stupid.
😂😂😂
Getting a defense/explanation from the defendant is like pulling teeth
The lawyer's file folder is ridiculous
I've had crap lawyers like that.
One of the things I learned from my experience being sued in small claims court is that you really wanna explain your story in a concise manner. Facts, not your editorial. Stay focused and don’t start explaining details outside the scope of your statement. You don’t want the judge interrupting you with questions so that here she can understand what you’re saying. I spent a considerable amount of time rehearsing what I was gonna say to somebody that way after few trial runs I could explain my side without any misunderstanding.
It’s cases like these when I ask myself why am I not watching Judge Judy?
lawyers in civil cases get paid a lot of money for very work or things most people can do for themselves!
I can’t officiate an adoption without a lawyer giving me the papers to sign and turn into the judge. You need a legal license for that kind of civil case. Either way I concur the lawyer should be paid for his labor.
the defendant answers the questions like she is annoyed at being asked and JM should already know the answer.
"I would never tell my father's income. It's alot more than that." She 100 percent told him her father's income and said he would pay for it.
I love when people owe money , they always start with I have this and that , I get money … I just don’t have it , it’s been hard for me lately
Insane to pay that lawyer that amount of money. No wonder people don’t. Trust lawyers.
