You know if he markets it properly, he could get triple that rent as an air bnb. There are a lot of people who love that stuff.
Absolutely
I was thinking the same thing. There would be sooo many people lining up to see this allegedly haunted house.
That's an interesting point. I think this case came out before AirBnB was as common but I wonder about the long-term interest in a haunted property by a paranormal fan. If he marketed it as a haunted house or even hinted at it, then he could be held liable for misrepresenting the future tenant if they ever decided it wasn't haunted. Plus I don't think he would want to go on record even hinting that the house were haunted as it would impact his professional credibility.
I wonder what year the case happened. An AirBnB may not have excited.
@queenchinadoll4181 Distilled Spirits?
Give the judge props for handling this with all seriousness.
Yes, so professional
the judge was being too nice because a judge and former prosecutor like her knows that the plaintiffs had MOTIVE to make all of this up , they were desperate to get their money back and get out of the lease .
I thought she was letting the plaintiffs go on too long about the haunting; but then I realize she wants them to feel heard. She's telling them that while she can't rule legally on it, she sympathizes with them.
this is a damn show. any real judge would have ended this stupid BS immediately.
@@amandadonaldson8748 you know this is a TV show right?
Wow what a case!! In all my years of watching The People’s Court I don’t ever think I saw this case. This was a gem!
there are alot of shady tenants out there who would come up with a crazy idea like this to get out of a lease and get back their deposit money and i am suspicious that these plaintiffs are that type , they were desperate to get their money back and get out of the lease , they had the motive to make this dumb story up .
Yeah this was an obscure case. I remember watching it when it first aired. There was also a local news story on it in Tom's River that was on UA-cam. One of my favorite cases
Oh the defendant is a lawyer lawyer!! I know dude is a shark in a courtroom! I'd hire him

That lawyer is very smart. The difference between representing yourself vs having representation at its finest.
It’s the case of “Casper? He hardly knew her.” 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Lol 😅😊😂
They need a room with padded walls.
My dad died in a hotel room 😢 spirits everywhere
“How he can sleep at night knowing he put my two children through hell” AKA they watched a towel fall on the floor
They could have slept in their car, motel or with a friend. What baloney she told.

Aka, the parents really fluffed it up and made it a big scary monster for the kids.
Sure but you shoulda seen the size of that towel!
A new entry for the hitch hikers guide to the galaxy! 101 uses for a towel. is now 102.
The defendant's attorney was on the ball and well presented. That's why he's paid the big bucks. Never underestimate having a great attorney 😊
He was good, but you or I could have won this case in his stead. The plaintiff had no case.
I concur..he presented very well and had my full attention. I was like "who is this guy??" 🙂
Ghosts aren’t what you have to worry about it’s the people still alive
The dead sometimes can be a real person that lost there spirit......and sometimes there are spirits that have not move on
Watch paranormal shows and you'll find this to be untrue lol
To me, anyone that believes in ghosts needs a mental health check. All things that happen can be explained rationally by someone that is rational.
Smary lady you are.
@@taurus2600Those shows are hilariously fake.
Gee, did the woman with the bruises take a photo? Everyone has a cell phone and are always taking photos but why didn't she take up close photos of those "handprints.?" I think they're all a little goofy.
LOL..A little?
Exactly. I was waiting for the photos. Who wouldn’t take a pic of that?
Right I was thinking the same thing they didn’t go get a disposable camera? Lies and everything she saying is what the news guy is saying lol
Fingerprints, even! Identical ones on either hand! 😹
Yes, wondering as well as to why she wouldn’t have taken pictures of the bruises. I’d think anyone would in that kind of circumstances. And am very surprised that the judge didn’t ask if there were photos.
Judge Mathis would have told then they're sounding reeeaaal crackish 😂😂

Do you need prayer is just being echo’d back as “we don’t care” all muffled because the speaker is too close to the microphone 🤣🤣🤣
😂
Good point. Care rhymes with prayer.
it's one thing to believe in ghosts. It's a whole other level to believe you can get rid of ghosts with a mop and bucket.
I was so curious about that part. Did they have a few gallons of holy water to "clean an entire house?" And did they wait for the floor to dry once they were done🤨🤔🤨🤔
@@finally97 I was thinking same thing. They probably prayed over the mopwater to turn it holy. They probably dont go to church enough to know that a priest has to bless it, not just them pray over it. The only other thought I had is maybe they put a couple drops of holisol (holy pinesol) into regular water, that just dilutes the holy.
A priest doesn’t have to be the one to pray. Anybody that is indwelt by Holy Spirit has the power to cast out demons in and through Jesus.

The area has since been renamed long ago.
A lot of places had names like that from waaaaay back when. It’s not still called that. It was made clear in the video
LOL, awww don’t you feel smart on UA-cam! Congratulations! Calm down & loosen up, yes we all watched the same video. Clearly they weren’t as smart as you 2 & didn’t research the neighborhood before they moved in like many people do.

Since all the ghost did was throw her clothes down from the closet, maybe he was just trying to tell her her folding skills could use improvement.

How the hell did the judge keep a straight face through this???
Dr. Lopez put them through hell? What did he do to them other than rent them an apartment??? They had no business getting the news involved for this. They are the ones who are putting him through hell by possibly making it very hard for them to get a new renter. I don't believe the plaintiffs. The woman is angry with no cause.
I honestly don't know what to believe because I had an experience that completely freaked me out in late 2018, early 2019. I was living in a house with other low income women, the house was used as a means to keep women from being homeless, which happened to me after my divorce because I'm disabled. I shared the master bedroom with another women, each of us slept in a twin bed. Mine was near the long closet, the kind with the sliding door. The doors had been removed. On more than 1 night I felt something sit on the edge of my mattress. I tried explaining that away. At least three times I awoke in an absolute panic, I literally felt that something ominous was watching me from the closet. The last time this happened I felt the side of my mattress sink down as though a person sat there. Then, the most frightening of all, I felt a finger poke me near my shoulder blade on my back. Everyone was asleep so it wasn't a housemate. There were many drug & alcohol addicts that had lived there & some of my housemates had been addicts also. We also had one woman with bipolar disorder, one with schizophrenia & one with borderline personality disorder. The schizophrenic woman would talk in demonic voices in her sleep but was fixated with Jesus when awake though she swore profusely & had serious angry outbursts. She never assaulted anyone but she could be utterly terrifying. Maybe these experiences were just my subconscious creating a evil presence due to the underlying, extreme anxiety I'm prone to & the depression of the fallout from my divorce from a malignant narcissist adultery I'd been married to for 23 years. Coincidentally, these scary episodes stopped when I hung my wooden Celtic cross on the same wall as the closet.
It's always religious people who get haunted. Non-religious never seem to have that issue. 😂
My experience is the polar opposite.
@@marigold3208 Sure.
Im not religious but I’ve had questionable experiences
lol def not true. I’ve heard experiences from people who were non religious and it made them question everything 😆

I think the plaintiffs really believe what they're saying. JM handled it well and respectfully. The defendant also handled it well without making light of the plaintiff's beliefs.
This has to be a joke, right?
Probably not, but the plaintiff are not all there, intellectually challenged.
No and you live in a country amongst these people
They are catholic so anything is possible
Perhaps the family is haunted.
I feel bad for the plaintiffs
Yes, hopefully they get the mental health they need.
Why?
I don't feel sorry for them after hearing that they called the press and made that house scary! How dare they !!
Me too, because they seem credible. But I’m not sure if calling the press was the right move.
Me too. I genuinely feel they really believed the house was haunted but your beliefs mean nothing in the end. It’s like someone suing because they didn’t get anything from Santa clause for Christmas.
How is it that her Skype picked up better recording then professional sound equipment
Probably because she stood there and did it on purpose.
It's really easy to fake "ghost recordings" and "spirit box messages"
People have been documented doing it since at least the Victorian era.
Haunted or not, its hard to prove a case like this unless video evidence, but even then one can explain it away. I believe when they went down to the basement, they aggravated the spirit with the holy water.
You're buying their story?
Any interest in buying a bridge, lmao
Yep that holy water did it!!
Would love to find out if the home was ever re-rented and if the new tenants had similar concerns.
Doubt it, or Zak Bagans would be there 😂😅
Lmaooooo cafeteria catholic…….👺👹
Like the clergymen and leaders
I've heard it called convenient Catholic, but not cafeteria- I like it.
Where are the pictures of the bruises? The judge didn't even ask.
Landlord should drag this case out, appear on TV, get as much publicity as possible, then publicly settle with the plaintiffs as more evidence is discovered and a dramatic story about the ghostly history of the property is revealed. Then, parlay that payment into a widely published account of how the house is legally haunted. Advertise the heck out of the haunted house. New renters produce more haunting stories. Then, profit. Win win.
And then allow people to “Skype with a ghost”. 😀
I kinda got the impression that the owner doesn't want or need publicity. I think he wants good tenants that will pay on time and keep the home in good condition. But, I do agree that renting a house called Devils Point is something to think about before renting or buying. I think it was a fair ruling considering the unusual case.
Absolutely 🇮🇪🙏✝️❤️☘️😊
Just think how much he will do do with a hunted house on Devils point and it been portrayed as the real thing! He is on a winner. He should figure out and old stories of things that happened around the houses area. Make a ffortune. 🇮🇪🙏❤️☘️✝️
Coming from someone who has lived in a haunted home before, I believe it. People say, "I'm more worried about people than ghosts" you say that until you've lived in a haunted home where you literally cannot sleep in peace.

Sorry I'm just not buying it and I'm so into ghosts and I know they are real but its not enough evidence for me
I agree, but I was entertained by it.
This is such an unnecessarily rude comment. Just because you don't believe in something doesn't make another person dumb or ignorant for doing so. Yes, I agree it was naive of them to think they could win this case with evidence that you just can't prove, but you don't have to put them down based on their beliefs.
So this is the only guy in realty that doesn't understand how to market a "haunted" house that is now more valid thanks to the weird court case. Personally, I still don’t know if I believe in ghosts but love things like this in movies and stuff, though don’t ever want to experience it.
This is not fair ! This guy is not the defendant he is a lawyer . And isn't there something called " DISCLOSURE "? You as a tenant have the right to know the history of the place you are renting .
But the defendant gave his attorney power of attorney to speak on his behalf. Also, the tenant should have requested full disclosure prior to signing the lease, paying the deposit and moving in. But there is no proof the house is haunted and she lost her case. So it's business as usual.
