@@ErnestoHomeyer Indeed! One thing is, I've never been able to find any live footage of him playing the middle upward runs up the neck. I wonder why, was he not able to play that part? For example, he totally skips over it in this clip and he seems to do that in every other one as well. ua-cam.com/video/KFmcleq-ZZc/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for this! I was stuck like crazy using another youtube video that and I just couldn't get that repeated pattern before the legato and tapping quite fast enough. Turns out when I listened to it slowly the run on the other video was wrong, it wasn't me playing it too slowly. Your video helped me correct the lick - although it's frustrating I have to practice to get it up to speed all over again because I wasted my time on the other video! I even had the b and g string lick before it wrong too which I have to get up to speed as well. Usually I don't bother with thumbs uping, commenting or liking but this was so helpful you deserve it! Now it feels like with practice I'll be able to get it right, and this has sent me in the right direction for using my time now.
Fantastic work as ever dude on this absolute classic of a piece! In terms of requests, it would be beyond awesome to see more Jason Becker (starting with the continuation of Eleven Blue Egyptians), for whose stuff you are a priceless resource
Awesome ernesto can you do more videos on using the 3 notes per string I love how you explain using these 7 scales with the relevance to what key you are in
This is so spot on, thank you! You have the notes perfect.
It is amazing how he plays with so much precision on a nylon string.

Thank you Ernesto! I am going to try this. Since Eddie died i have been playing daily. His music lives on. You are an excellent teacher.
Thank you!
@@ErnestoHomeyer hi. Thanks for the lesson. Are you showing this in standard tuning?
@@allboutthemojo Yes I am. The original is down a whole step in D standard. He played this on an Ovation with nylon strings..
@@ErnestoHomeyer thanks
@@ErnestoHomeyer it would be perfect in D only flaw
For anyone who can't figure an Esus4, 'Spanish Fly' is way beyond their playing level.
Really cool...great job!

Glad this helped you! With Edward it's all about the correct fingerings.
@@ErnestoHomeyer Sure is! But Spanish fly has tired my pinkie out from all the stretching so I'm going to give it a rest :D
Man.. This is the key of how to play Van Halen all solos
Hay thanks for making this and I have been only playing for a month and I can do this
Much Appreciated, Ernesto. I subscribed pretty quick when I saw what you are doing.
Thanks!
Keith

Ernesto Homeyer Sweet man I saw, thank you so much!! 5/8 through the Perpetual Burn album - amazing!

This is excellent
Thank you, Ed was a genius!
😮 awesome 👍
Bravoooo!
Awesome.its the phrasing that is key.tq sir🇲🇾👍😀malaysia says helo🐓
Hi Malaysia!
AWESOME THX
the stretch on the tapping is insane.. still can't seem to get that down
Eddie had a big hand and long fingers, and from so much piano playing the first finger-pinky strength was insane as well!
Man. 4:40 to 5:10 is the part that I love but can't seem to get my right hand and left hand into sync to get the feeling. Drives me crazy.
Eddie had unique sequencing patterns, always tricky!
Sound perfect with a bump. Too Funny
what tuning is this in?
Standard D, everything whole step down.
🤘
Inside joke. U need a bump lol
