  • In this video I teach you 2 overlooked tapped harmonic Van Halen licks from Van Halen. Whether you want to play the licks for fun or use them in your own playing its up to you, I just wanted to show you the techniques. For further listening, I recommend the tracks 'Girl Gone Bad' and 'Dance The Night Away'
    Gear: EVH Wolfgang Special Limited Edition 2015 Amp: Yamaha THR10X
    I’m a guitarist from the UK, completely self-taught and have been playing since I was 12. I play Hard Rock including AC/DC, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne and more modern influences including Alter Bridge and Steel Panther.
    I graduated with a First Class (BA Hons) Music Business Degree from the University of Sussex, studied it at BIMM Manchester.
    At uni, I helped arrange a masterclass for Ozzy Osbourne/Firewind guitarist Gus G and played an important part in the preparations for a Guthrie Govan clinic. Personal highlights of mine include playing on stage with Steel Panther in January 2018 and when I got the opportunity to spend the day with Steve Vai on his Passion and Warfare Anniversary Tour.
    Since launching the channel properly in 2015, I am very pleased to have received positive comments from Sam Coulson (Asia), Michael Starr (Steel Panther), Rick Graham, Henning Basse (Firewind Lead Vocalist) and other notable figures in the guitar world.
    I teach subscribers complex rock licks, provide other tuition videos and demonstrate exciting kit and equipment for shops such as RichTone Music in Sheffield, Sounds Great Music in Cheadle.
    I’m a connoisseur of fine guitars and I am very proud to be known on UA-cam for being a user of Charvel Guitars, Yamaha THR amps, EVH Gear and Stormshadow Guitarworks.

    Cameron you dont know how much you, your playing and your videos has helped me, not only as a guitar player.
    I had a really hard time with my guitar playing and your playing just inspired me to improve and play more melodic and better and it made me super happy and excited to pick up the axe.
    Thanks for everything you do.☺
    Ps. I bought at thr10x and hopefully soon a charvel because of you.

    Great licks and technique Cam. I will be banging on these harmonics this weekend, but I need to get my tapping finger to cooperate and stop hitting the damn neck too hard. Thanks again for sharing some really cool and useful guitar licks - every one of your videos makes me want to put in the effort and practice - much appreciated!

    • @CameronCooper
      @CameronCooper  9 місяців тому

      If I owned Helix then no problem. Probably would do that. But even if I did, having the exact same tone as him can only get you so far. There are great players out there who have the exact same rigs as Eddie from any given point of his career which is so cool but they still sound nothing like him.

    Cameron, your way of playing, your bright informations and your attitude, simple and cool...all that made that I'm a great fan of your UA-cam channel and of your way of playing...you're brillant but never playing to the "Star"...Some comments I read below where a guy is jealous...about all you have like equipment and all you play, it's totally crazy but you stop him quickly...So you're a great inspiration for me, even if 'm older than you !...it don't matter...like I'm french I hope that some parts of my com are not strange or bizarre...Keep rockin'...have a great Christmas days for you and all the person that you love ! Ciao !!...Patrice, France.

    I love you... but I hate you too lol! You make this look so easy and I've been playing 40+years lol! Over the years before yt & tabs... 'we' did it by listening.... over and over.... for hours &days on end to learn or get these parts down.. not just for evh, but all who inspired, motivated us; all whom we admired. Good to see you doing all this great vh stuff & it's even better knowing I got lots of it right all those years ago! But Iove to watch your vids for refresher courses & in between writing & working on our material. Your an awesome player! After watching your recent vids, I got the thr30iiw... sold my katana air, loaded in your vh & ac dc patches.... and I'm in guitar heaven... these tones are really inspiring & this little amp is KILLER! you saved me a great deal of time as well lol! Thank you Cameron! If I may ask, how about settings for Randy Rhoads' diary era tone, Jake e Lee's tone from batm album, and..Andy Summers basic tone from gitm & synchronicity albums. Thanks again!
