Переглядів 15 тис.4 роки тому
SKYPE and ZOOM lessons Lecciones en español Gitarrenunterricht auf Deutsch ernestohomeyer@aim.com Spanish Fly is one of the hardest solo pieces to play fast and accurately because it requires so much left hand strength. The original from Van Halen II is tuned to standard D, but I play it in standard 440 to make it easier for you and for me. This piece also shows the clever use of totally symmet...

man.... if only you would have added a little tab below ... this would have made the learning 10 times faster :(( Thank you very much for your help!
😊 thx
You deserve more likes and subscribers, keep up 👍
Ok this is pretty cool n all but how the fuck you learn those Becker songs by ear? They're his hardesr ones also
By slowing it down, using common sense about positions, and lots of patience. No magic trick.
@@ErnestoHomeyer which is your favourite Becker song or cacophony song
YIKES!!!
5:06
This is excellent
Thank you, Ed was a genius!
Where is the best tabs for this? I can't learn from just watching??
I learned this by ear, nobody showed it to me. Transcribing this was a lot of work, so you can use your ear and watch my hand positions. It's not that hard.
thanks, this helped me get those nuance licks down, i swear you had this tutorial up with before but slightly different hand positions.
which gutiar model is that?
Custom guitar made by Lance Alonzo. Super Strat with non-floating tremolo and 24-3/4 scale!
TAB!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much! You made my day sir
Excellent!
Gracias eres increíble
For anyone who can't figure an Esus4, 'Spanish Fly' is way beyond their playing level.
Bravoooo!
Fantastic teacher.Merci!
many thanks for you Ernesto ,and above all for the Grand-Master Jason Becker
Thank you Milon!
awesome
Thank you!
another banger
Really healped me alot thanks.
😮 awesome 👍
awesome!!!
This is awesome. I can empathize with those who find this overwhelming, confusing, etc.. To them, I'd suggest spending some time to learn the CAGED pattern, all the notes on the fretboard, and the fundamentals of sweep picking. Armed with that knowledge, you will be more able to tackle this piece, and, like many others, you will appreciate how concise and quick this lesson is. Ernesto Homeyer, thank you for this great video.
Thank you for your great comment and understanding! I appreciate that
Very good theory and technical knowledge
isnt the last arpeggio a e flat diminished?
I said C diminished, which the same as Eb, A or F# diminished.
GREAT JOB FRIEND, I HAVE A LOT OF CONFUSION....IT SEEMS TO ME THAT YOU PLAY THE GUITARPRO / SONGSTERR TRANSCRIPTION.... AND THE PART OF INITIAL AND FINAL ARPEGIOS (MID SONG MELODY) MATCHES MORE WITH THE ONE IN THE OLD PRINTED BOOK...GREETINGS AND THANKS
I have never seen the Guitar Pro transcription. I did this all with my own research. No books.
Ernesto it’s English Dave from MI, 06. You were my private instructor Do you do online lessons? Would love it. Hit me back
Hey Dave, yes I do. Find me on Inst or FB
Thank you so much for this! I was stuck like crazy using another youtube video that and I just couldn't get that repeated pattern before the legato and tapping quite fast enough. Turns out when I listened to it slowly the run on the other video was wrong, it wasn't me playing it too slowly. Your video helped me correct the lick - although it's frustrating I have to practice to get it up to speed all over again because I wasted my time on the other video! I even had the b and g string lick before it wrong too which I have to get up to speed as well. Usually I don't bother with thumbs uping, commenting or liking but this was so helpful you deserve it! Now it feels like with practice I'll be able to get it right, and this has sent me in the right direction for using my time now.
Glad this helped you! With Edward it's all about the correct fingerings.
@@ErnestoHomeyer Sure is! But Spanish fly has tired my pinkie out from all the stretching so I'm going to give it a rest :D
Just in case anyone is wondering......this is the most accurate transcription out there. I remember a student of Ernesto's appearing on the sevenstring forum years ago performing this tune (brilliantly) and he gave all the credit to Ernesto for his work in making this as good as possible. Cheers to you both :)
Thank you Dave, much appreciated! It was a lot of work, considering no videos of Jason playing this stuff.
@@ErnestoHomeyer I don't haunt UA-cam, but I am awake so excuse the prompt reply - thank YOU most sincerly. As you say, there are no videos so all of the work you've put in is doubly impressive. Now, I need to get practising :)
what tuning is this in?
Standard D, everything whole step down.
Thanks! Great work
Thank you so much! I finally learned this song, now i just need to play it at normal speed 😅
Sound perfect with a bump. Too Funny
Inside joke. U need a bump lol
Thanks Earnesto! great ideas !
The intro is sick. I am so glad you break it down to see what is actually going on crystal clear.
Jason has an amazing whammy bar control!
@@ErnestoHomeyer yes he does. He is an absolute phenomenal player. I was blown away totally when I first heard this song. And last time I tried to play this, I had just begun and played a lil but left . Now I am taking these up. And your videos are really helping a lot, man. Tons of thanks, man.!
Wtf Ernesto, this is so cool/ Olof
Hey Kim, my little sweep etude, haha!
excellent leccion , thanks
bravo!!!! excelente leccion
Awesome! Thank you for this lesson!
Tabs??
the stretch on the tapping is insane.. still can't seem to get that down
Eddie had a big hand and long fingers, and from so much piano playing the first finger-pinky strength was insane as well!
Great job Ernesto, many thanks! Love your Becker videos There is a missing part just before the run at 6:20, you can listen it on the original song from 2:42 to 2:47 (times on the spotify track).
You're correct! There are so many runs in this tune that I missed it.
FFS clean your nail
Yes mom!
🔥🔥🔥
Please do wish upon a star!
🧡👍💯💫
Great lesson, just a quick tip to people struggling with the stretches. If you angle your hand the opposite as shown you can stretch more comfortably. Turn the whole hand clockwise a little.
Outrageous. Stunning maestro
This is so spot on, thank you! You have the notes perfect.
It is amazing how he plays with so much precision on a nylon string.
@@ErnestoHomeyer Indeed! One thing is, I've never been able to find any live footage of him playing the middle upward runs up the neck. I wonder why, was he not able to play that part? For example, he totally skips over it in this clip and he seems to do that in every other one as well. ua-cam.com/video/KFmcleq-ZZc/v-deo.html
