Makes so much sense, you can't keep buying forever. I like the new camera angles
Awesome Passenger sets !! Wow that Triplex is Huge!!!
Oh BTW - are those Voltron Characters I see☺️
The wife didn’t leave me bit nearly took me out 😂😭
Hey Chris!
My three boys and I have a modest but growing O gauge collection of nearly every era, and honestly your videos have been a huge part of our enjoyment of the hobby. After your video explaining the "spring cleaning" on your collection we haven't seen much of you since, and I just wanted to fire some encouragement your way and let you know you bring a LOT of kids (and big kids like me) a LOT of joy, sharing your trains. Keep up the good work. Ignore the nay sayers, we are still very much huge fans.
Love from Savannah Ga
Colton, Caspian, Ciaran, and Corey.
Hey Chris, just wanted to start off with saying it was awesome meeting you at York, and also me being from Long Island, you NEED to get at least one Long Island RailRoad Loco/Train in your collection. You will LOVE it.
I know you’re not actually quitting trains
You’re just selling the ones that you no longer use and getting new trains 🚂 but I can’t wait to see the new trains you have. I can’t wait!!!!!
I so understand you wanting to 'thin the herd'. Having more engines/rolling stock than you have time to run most of them is like having a tread mill being used as a drying rack for laundry. It just doesn't make sense. I'm looking forward to future videos featuring new acquisitions running on the layout. It was nice to have met you again at the Spring York meet.
Great move, love your philosophy, makes sense, keep the vids coming. Looking forward to the next one, I always enjoy watching your entertaining and informative videos. Thanx, Sam
This is the real definition of give and take. Awesome stuff Chris! Thanks for the great content
It was great to see you at York. Glad to hear you are staying in the hobby. I really enjoy your videos. Many blessings to you.
I was more than happy to gift you the diner car. I know what if’s like to be missing one car to a set. And with all you do for the hobby I’m glad to help in anyway I can. We all try to spread the happiness and joy of the hobby.
PS Thank you for the shout out!
That's a good way to go about it. Making space for new stuff. This way someone else could enjoy those trains as well.
Looking forward to the new trains 👍👍👍
Chris, thanks for inspiring me to cull some of my herd too. I've been on a thirty year buying spree. Now with all of the boxed and unboxed trains taking up so much of my 2,800 sqft basement, there's insufficient room to build the dream layout before I kick the bucket. Something's got to give. Time to start unloading so someone else can enjoy the excess of my addictive largess!
First to go will be all the duplicates, next the PS1 engines that later were superceded on the roster by the PS2s and 3s of the same models I bought to get the improved sounds and digital operability. Thirdly so long to the many duplicated used postwar favorites like Warbonnet F-3s that I bought mostly at auctions to upgrade the condition of the collection from uncleanable, scratched, and marred to cleaner unscratched examples.
Okay, bye for now, I've got some work to do!
Great update, Chris. I think you made motives in releasing some of your collection very clear when you first announced you were making room for new models. It's always surprises me that a straight forward explanation can become so muddled and invent new topics weren't even part of the original announcement! The additions to the collection look very good, indeed.
Great video! I can’t wait to see all the new trains you fill your collection with! Purging your collection made a whole lot of sense, especially since you’re a UA-camr and kinda need to be purchasing new trains to keep your following. I think most of us in the hobby know that we’ll have to do the same at some point, especially if we want the latest and newest trains out there!
Hey Chris, a great video and a wonderful way to let your subscribers know exactly what is going on with RBP Trains. It was a pleasure meeting you at York and my grandchildren are among your biggest fans. Your channel cuts across all ages groups and demographics and we all appreciate the time and effort you put into it. The very best to you and your family for continued success and a great 2024!
This was so cool; a the new engines look so awesome (especially from those overhead shots!) Excited to see what other new trains are coming up!!
If you're able to get your hands on it, I'd like to see you run an LMS Duchess class on your layout.
Thanks Chris for featuring me in this vid lol 😂
The train shed would actually be dope
I had heard that you were selling your trains before your last video came out. When you put that video out, it explained everything perfectly. My son and I really enjoy your videos and we are looking forward to seeing some new run sessions. Anybody who has watched enough of your videos can tell you enjoy making them. That’s what makes them great. Keep it up, Chris, and thank you for sharing.
Great Video! Looking forward to seeing what’s to come! Keep up
the great work!
I'm looking forward to seeing what your going to be bringing in
Loved seeing a lot of new angles of the layout!
Love the new camera angles! Those Hudsons are something else too! Great video!
Great video, it’s always fun to make room for new product. Glad all is well with your family! Cheers
Wonderful video! I hope to attend the next train show in York. All your videos are exceptional. Can’t wait to see more!
You do what you thinks best for your channel Chris🙏👍
knew you were still here lol keep up the great work keep chugging up the grade
Chris - thank you for these wonderful videos. You are hands down the best train guy on the planet! 😊
Glad you and yours are well. Cheers.
It was great meeting you at York. The Pacemaker locomotive and freight set made it home safe…. Looking forward to the arrival of your switcher and caboose from Train World. They will look great with your ES44. I’m happy to hear the videos will keep coming! I think you have as much fun making them as we do watching them.
Great video Chris. Good job dealing with those rumors. Those comments were pretty funny.
You inspire me so much that I have decided to make my own channel!
I like the different angle shots that you're doing with your camera video taping it's really cool shows different areas of your layout and how the trains are running and all brother.
Ok. Now this is epic! Your stuff is always helps with inspiration to keep working on my smaller 4 by 2 layout in n scale
The intro was hilarious 😂😂😂. I love the head nods. Keep doing great videos RBP and promoting O gauge! It is a fun hobby no matter what scale, road name, or whatever you choose.
I'm still crushed the Veranda sold 4 minutes before I was able to get the wheel chair over to the booth. Crushed! 😂
I seen you in the booth at York but you had a mob of people around you but it was great to see you there
Glad that Legacy S1 found a new home. I know there was a couple of people in my FB groups that was looking for one.
Awesome video, those are some great additions to the collection. Those passenger car sets are really nice. I like the wide angle shots of the trains running gives some great views of the layout. Love the pet shop express on the layout!
Chris
Great video! Glad your sale worked out for you.
It's also a refreshing change to see someone refreshing their collection.
Congratulations on your new additions. They look great! And, glad you are staying with the Hudsons.
With your love for the Hudson I am surprised 'Doc Hudson' hasn't showed up on the layout. 😅
Keep enjoying the hobby!
AS ALWAYS LET EM ROLL LOVE YOUR VIDEOS CHRIS ;-)
Great video Chris, I knew you where not leaving. Can't wait to see what's coming
Great vid RPB. Trains look fantastic and sound awesome.
The smoke on that Triplex is outstanding!
My Atlas Maxi-IV order just arrived the other day. YUGE! Need to find containers now.
Ignore the haters and fear mongers. I don't know about you, but I have my own trains to worry about rather than someone else's. Great to meet you at York.
Amen to that I can’t believe people who don’t pay for his models want to make decisions for him
Awesome video! Beautiful collection of trains!
👍🏻 Awesome! Thank you for the video!
Yay for more trains...keep the videos coming!!!
Great video as always Chris
Well, I got your BNSF C44-9W and your CSX SD70MAC. Both on my wish list.
At 62yrs old I have sold off quite a bit from time to time. Only regretted maybe selling a handful of items. Funny story though, I had sold off a custom painted Ives Standard Gauge set and about 5 yrs later saw that very set on eBay and re-purchased it!!
The stack train on that incredible bridge will be EPIC, Chris!
Next, I want to get my hands on the BNSF C44-9W.
Love the wide shots of the layout, very cool.
Rumors are great aren’t they 🙄 you can never make everyone else happy so might as well just make yourself happy. I think it’s awesome that you could unload some of the collection to get more. It’s all very exciting. 👍
You did good Chris! Keep up the great work! Loved seeing all of those Hudsons and being a diesel man, I really enjoyed seeing that new Atlas UP ES44 too! It was great to see you at York. Loved the video! Bill B.
Glad you did good at York Chris. I know we got to talk for a couple minutes on Friday there, and unfortunately everything I was after of from your collection was already gone, but it was still nice meeting you, and seeing you interact with a couple kids too. I believe that we need to get them interested now more than ever to keep the hobby alive in the future, and I think you and your channel does a great job of promoting the hobby for them. I too ended up with a lot of purple boxes from Vince's Trains. They had a great selection and at great price, not to mention the "Frequent Flyer/Return Buyer" discount they were giving. 😁
A video on Lionel's Frisco Meteor could probably be a hit, that's one attractive locomotive people often tend to overlook - one that happens to still have a few around today.
My guess is you sold your MTH Blue Comet because they’re making a new one and that may be one of those engines you have on preorder. I wonder if you ordered the Bullet green version as well because that’s a super special one! Thank you for making this video to clear things up and in general I think your choice to sell stuff off was 100% understandable, I’m really happy you doing this means we get more new content and unique stuff being able to join your collection, it’s honestly a smart way to go about ensuring your collection doesn’t take over every nook and cranny of your house and wallet. Super nice video as always man!!
Chris my friend people are crazy
Thanks for all the fantastic content and for being such a great guy

So many people have attention spans too short to have actually watched your video before leaving a comment. And I agree, there absolutely is such a thing as too many trains. What you did was extremely valid and people are overreacting over nothing. This video was an entertaining dig at those comments! Thanks.
Nice video, liked the clarifications. Keep up the great video's.
Loved this video, I had a good laugh about the "family life" comments even though I thought it bordered on inappropriate but I certainly understand that trains can cause some stress (enough said). I love your new additions especially the Atlas ES44 and the well cars from Atlas. I was also excited to see your layout improvements which seem to be coming along very nicely. Thanks for the updates.
Thank you for all your hard work bringing us your fantastic videos. I would appreciate more content on prewar and postwar Lionel. No one really does that. Maybe do a classic Lionel video every couple months. Prewar and postwar Lionel have a wonderful history and appeal all their own. We don't always need to see the biggest and newest Lionel has to offer.
Let's see some more end cab switchers!
Great one!
Hey RBP completely understand and can’t wait to see some new pieces. Also to answer your request, I would love to see a lot more prewar. My grandfather used to have a large layout filled with prewar items would love to see some on yours. 😊
Where there are 'changes' there are rumors! Welcome to the RUMOR MILL! Could be the title of a horror movie! 😂
Great video nice engines keep up the good work love the layout and videos
Well, at least some of your trains are still around, so that's a good sign, and you have some new trains that you are going to show us.
How fun you basically switched from Legacy to DCS in one show. Impressive.
Great video Chris. If people paid attention to your video, they would’ve known you weren’t leaving the hobby. Those rumors were crazy. Looking forward to more of your content.
Excellent video Excellent train haul I really like that UP locomotive 🚂 Extraordinary family man god bless you and your family 👍🏻💫💫💫💫💫
Great video, I saw your last post about selling the collection and never batted an eyelid, tbh as we know exactly this scenario 😂 We're involved in the slot car hobby side of things primarily (as well as trains off camera) and as we say back home in Ireland, 'sometimes you have to pour some out, before you can pour more in' Great channel and we really enjoy your content. Keep up the good work.
You are doing a great job .
Enjoyed meeting you at York and will probably need to consider some collection turnover with the purchases I bought back!
Hi Chris always enjoy watching your content, and when you run O Gauge sooner or later you will need more storage capacity or rotate the items you have.it’s obvious when you think about it.
All the very best to you and looking forward to the next video.
Keith (Southampton UK )
Great Video Chris. You got some bad press at the York Show for the prices being so high but they didn’t realize is you had already sold the collection and Trainz was setting the price. I will say it was nice stuff
I bought a set of your passenger cars from Trainz. Can't wait for them to arrive.
great video as always !! RBP rocks!!
Chris thank you for making me a part of your train room my friend you are an inspiration to us all in our hobby GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND THE TRAIN-Z ;-)
Enjoyed the around the room shots
AWSOME❤
love your layout bro
You made us laugh with this explanation video! Looking forward to seeing all of the new locos you will be purchasing. Run some Gp9s if you have some please.
I like that you put gumpla on your layout. You've given me an idea. I might do the same cause I build gumpla, too
Chris, as soon as you put out the video about selling part of your collection it was inevitable the rumor mill was going to go into overdrive! I got it right away since I've been there myself and I'm there now, for something new to come in something else has to go OUT. Available space (or the lack of same) is a stern taskmaster!
Besides, after watching one of Chris's (from Chris's Trains And Things) videos of a visit he made to a MASSIVE collection all I could say was "It 's impressive, but I wouldn't WANT that much stuff! You can get to the point where you don't own the collection, it owns YOU! And that guy's there!"
Anyway, you picked up some nice stuff at York. Oddly enough the Hudson that really impresses me is the Boston & Albany one! It's gorgeous! And I didn't know B&A engines were painted Pullman Green to match the cars! Nice!
VERY good use of those camera angles! In a way it reminds me of the work of the late railfan photographer Bob Malinoski. Bob was a master of not just capturing the trains, but capturing them in the context of their surroundings which you certainly did with those looking down from above angles. Well done!
Thanks for posting!
I have a subject suggestion. I would say over the years the biggest short comings everyone I knew had was with scenery , ciry scapes, and industrial settings. Love your bridges and scapes. Simple yet effective. Any story about that, maybe I just missed it.
City scape, what's a ciry scape? How did it do that?
I'm very excited to hear about you partnering with Atlas!! Atlas is my favorite model railroading company, although I do have a bit of bias because I live in NJ, not too far from Atlas' headquarters. I currently have an O scale new old stock never run New Jersey Transit ALP-44 #4402 and the extremely rare matching set of Comet II coaches and I've seen all three cars from the pack in person. However, the real coaches have been renumbered during their refresh/upgrade in the late 90's/very early 20000's. However I only have pictures of two of them, the non cab cars, and I got to ride on a train that had one of the cars from that set: 5610 renumbered to 5300. Unfortunately I didn't get to ride in 5300 because it was the car right in front of the locomotive which passengers aren't allowed to ride in for some reason. Also unfortunately not available in O scale, but I pre-ordered the HO scale Master Gold Atlas 100th Anniversary NJ Transit ALP-45DP 4503 which I saw in person on Christmas Eve of 2023 but it wasn't at my local station. Hopefully it comes through my local station in the morning sometime because I know one of the engineers who comes through every morning and he always gives me epic horn shows and 4503 has my favorite train horn of all time: an unrestricted K5LA which just sounds absolutely glorious. I got an incredible video of the unrestricted K5LA horn show I got from 4530, the last two numbers swapped around, which 5 30 (May 30th) happens to be my birthday which is a very cool coincidence. They made a model of 4530 which I will probably try to get too.
I'd like to see a Southern 4501 run or just anything Southern Railway in general. The Tuxedo Black and Apple Green never disappoint.
Id like to eventually see a pennsylvania T1 being the T1 trust is building a brand new one from the flanges up
I know how it feels to make some space for new items even myself I find out I have way too many engines that I may end up doing the same thing or just get a bigger house for myself lol also had a awesome time at York and love the new trains you have to congrats.
Great job 👍
RBP, great video and I would like to thank you for putting that plow on. 😆 It definitely looks better with, and I'm certain you agree. Great looking stuff from atlas you got. Thanks Chris!
Glad to hear you are still enjoying the hobby. I do think you may regret on selling the Mike Wolf Big boy though.
Hudson Fan over here. Such an awesome machine. I collect HO and I currently have one Canadian National 4-6-4 Hudson made by Mehano. A gorgeous model. I want to get myself a Dreyfuss one day aswell but, they are quite pricey......but nothing like the Price O scale.
A huge part of collecting anything is defining what your collection is and moving on from items that no longer fit.
Your new steam locomotives and diesel locomotive is nice Chris, and I only have 2 diesel locomotives and they are two different kinds but the same maker, a GP-38 cheese and a Alco C-420 Lehigh Valley.
I love the Hudsons too....
I would love to see a Plymouth CR-8XT doing some switching action!!! Thanks for all the awesome content.
