We’ll find some great homes for your awesome trains!! Great opportunity for fans to find some epic locomotives!
Now that would be cool to see three rails four dads acquire the collection :)
There is a nice set of UP engines for the secondhand Overland there. Are you going to York hunting for anything special?
@@SleeperBBQ there’s a few of us already eyeing some of those! We’ll see how it goes next week!
@@azslotracer there certainly are! I can’t run anything too big though. That’s why most of my “big steam” is LionMaster.
Happy hunting. @@Dadified86
O Gauge - makes Lego look like an inexpensive hobby. Amazing stuff.
While sad to see some engines leave the layout, it opens the door to aquire new stuff down the road! Nothing wrong with thinning the heard. I've done it on occasion.
I can't believe you are parting with some really beautiful locos
Just means more of you can enjoy them. Lots of these are SO hard to find!!
He’ll get more… I’ve cleared out before and then restocked. It’s kind of normal.
And he will be getting new locomotive that we have not seen yet
@@MrDanielmarloweI like to get the replacements and then get rid of the things that I am replacing, like what the real life railroads do. Cory Mears
Understand Chris. Sometimes less is truly more. After all, there are only 24 hours in a day. Hope you are happy with those choices.
I could not do it! I would never give up these trains if I owned them. I would put them in storage if I had to but god your talking about some of these cannot be replaced.
It’s only plastic and metal. They make new ones every day
So glad both you and your followers of the channel all had so much fun and wonder watching the run sessions and appreciating those models. Onward to some more fun times. Gary and Ryan
its a natural process, buy/sell, buy/sell. we've all been there my friend
Nice knowing you in the rail road world. 🤗
Seeing some very iconic engines from your channels success is definitely sad to see leave. It was fun to see a proper send off to one of the coolest collections around!
I see this as a great way for you to still enjoy the hobby and maybe discover and find some new favorites down the line! We all come to a point where we ponder what is too much? Moving around stuff is never a bad thing!
I’m confident we will find great homes for these great engines!
Happy railroading as always my friend!
Well Chris I am a little disappointed that you sold some of your trains but I’m glad you gave them to new homes and you can get more trains and I’m happy you got another triplex! I’m hopping that you get another Strasburg 90 and I’m glad you still have your Vision Line 4014 Big Boy and hopefully you can get a 3985 Challenger.
some of these engines are genuinely surprising. can't believe you're parting with Hudsons, the Big Boy, and the Strasburg 90s
Not to fear! I have two new Hudsons arriving today. Plus I kept the Lionel Vision Big Boy. The Strasburg 90s were really cool and I have my eyes on the new Atlas WM 2-8-0 for my next smaller steam engine. Part of the fun for me is trying new engines. :)
@@RBPTrainsChris can’t you keep one 90 because I really wanted you to compare the LionChief 90 to its scale counterpart.
I DID THE SAME THING YEARS AGO AND STILL REGRET IT.
Oh my gosh Chris, when I saw the thumbnail for the video I almost lost it! Glad you’re still here, and I can’t wait to see what new engines you’ll review with all the new space!
Wow! You are parting way with a considerable number of units. 😮
Love that NPR Berkshire and the Y6B. ❤
It’s a bold move to get rid of something you really like, so I know it’s for a good reason. Excited to see what will take their places!
Chris I hope you are well. First off I must thank you. Your channel has been an inspiration to all train lovers young or old! The knowledge and reviews you've given have been insightful and have greatly helped me in building my own little railroad! This video is no different. I realized quickly if I keeped buying trains at the rate I'm going I will have no where to put them and certainly not enough layout to run them without heavy rotation. I don't know how I could part with an engine once I have it but being more deliberate in what you get is much easier to sustain long term. Some might be worried there's more going on here but I believe you - too much stuff can be stifling in a home and I would hate to leave stuff in boxes!
Wow... That Niagara is a real surprise 😮
He not leaving!
Looking forward to what you're making room for! Some really great stuff in that list, a few caught my eye 👀. Hope I get to see you at York.
Wow, that's a lot of trains leaving at one time. I can imagine your probably gonna miss alot of them, but it's nice giving someone else chance to enjoy these beautiful engines. I'm gonna miss daylight the most, if I could afford it, I would buy it. Great video Chris!
I'm an avid post war and mpc collector. I'm so glad your not getting rid of your postwar and mpc collection. Whew!!
Thank God none of these I need or really must have. You're saving me money. Thanks! But I'll be there Friday to look at what's left.
Good luck Chris. I ran out of room as well so I am looking to sell a lot of my stuff too! Looks like Trainz is the way to go!
I do that with both my hobbies. In my astronomy hobby, I've probably bought 25 telescopes over the years, including some big ones, but I only usually keep 3-4 at a time. It is fun to try out new ones and do videos on them, but I don't have the room or money to keep all of them. Similarly, I sell model trains and train layouts I build so I can fund new projects to feed the UA-cam beast lol.
Great vidio, love the collection. Thanks for the morning coffee...
Wow Chris, lots of great stuff leaving. We all thin the heard from time to time. See you at York
That’s nice of you!
Well, Chris, I am glad for you as I know this is something you want to do. At some point each of us will one day likely decide to move our trains for one reason or another. Trains as much as we love them are just stuff and like most stuff can usually be replaced should one want to do that at a later date. I am glad you chose to utilize Trainz to move them along because it will give so many others an opportunity to own a piece of your wonderful collection. Take care! Bill B.
I call dibs on the Santa Fe SD40s! 😬 😂
Wow, these are some amazing models
I completely understand what you’re doing because I’m starting to get into the hobby
Happy for you man. You do you! 🎉
I love the concept of purging your collection to add other models that you want. Nice pieces, and I love all of them, but like a couple for my collection.
I’ve only sold several of my trains, just rolling stock. Makes me glad I don’t have a big collection. Understandable video Chris.
I am astounded you are keeping the hot dog! Gack!
Some of these engines you'll wish at times that you still had them, but business wise it makes sense to open the door for lots of new content and when you miss one of those engines just pull up the video of it running and loop it for several hrs as you enjoy reminiscing
i cannot imagine willingly offing so much great stuff
But imagine all the same he makes! he can buy new trains for years!
Did you pay cash for all the trains in boxes or are you paying 18%interest on them all. If you sold most of them you could buy a house 🏠 with the money . Today's prices are absurd in my opinion. Phone 📱 messed up.interested
How many engines have survived the great sell off??
Looking forward to seeing the new stuff 💫
Man, that sucks, but on the other hand, it's understandable because, as you stated in the video, you don't have enough room for all of your locos but did you really have to get rid of the Hudsons? Lol you can do what you want, and you're making a good decision because if don't have anymore room then you're gonna start having problems.😅
Great Marketing Idea , I bet several UA-cam channels are kicking themselves, "Why didn't I think of that ? " LOL
Yes keep moving forward.
Thank you i just bout a loinel prr ti from trainz cant wait to run it again thank you 😊
Hi Chris. If you're selling that many pieces of your collection, I can only imagine what new "MINTY FRESH" goodies you have on your shopping list!
Michael Foster here. That is exciting Chris! I could be your lovely RBP assistant! It sure feels magical like the beautiful gold and purple engine named Lady. See you at York! In the 30-minute steam video, that’s what I call the RBP Steam Team! Because little engines really can do big things!
And to quote one of my favorite books from when I was a little kid, Chicka chicka boom boom! Will there be enough room?
I am excited for the new chapter of your layout and we will give your trains new homes so you don’t have to worry about them. Thx for the like Chris your awesome and actually love your fans
Hello Chris yes I've been there and done that I recently put all my Scale Micro trains weathered graffiti cars on consignment and all of my BNSF Engines at my LHS I m getting some new Amtrak rolling stock soon So I can relate to what your doing GOD BLESS ENJOY YORK PA STAY SAFE AND THANKS FOR SHARING ;-)
Good luck with the sale Chris! There are a lot of beautiful trains going to find new homes. Are most of the engines Lionel? I tried to follow along but i am sure i missed something. I am in Arizona and won't be able to go to York but hope to one day! Have fun at the show!
These sets looks so good it’s sad to see them leave
Never clicked a notification so fast
They will be well remembered. 😢
If only I were able to go to York...
If only I was actually willing to buy from Trainz. They didn't exactly make a good impression when I messaged them saying I was interested in an engine they had, but couldn't pay for it all right then and offered to send in some of my collection to help pay for it and their response was to raise the price by $900, refuse my offer, and then try to buy off my whole collection.
I'd love to buy that Blue Comet, but seems life's working against me in this case.
I don't know if I'll be able to make it up to the spring York show, but the Trainz booth will be busy with that list, even if i could make it up Saturday, a lot of those engines will probably be gone. Looking forward to what you're replacing those great engines with
I’ll be there. Been going to York since 1979.
WHY ARE YOU GETTIN RID OF THE BIG BOY!?? Crying😅
He still has the VisionLine Big Boy 👍
The one he dropped, then repaired. 😟 😮💨
Hey Chris I bet you should keep Strasburg 90 because you were waiting 3 years for that engine.
I regretted selling my SP SD45 in the past but i got lucky last year and purchased it again. That 7399 is a nice engine.
No dont regret it your helping people know about trainz so they can get great deals on trains .and helping people get stuff you normally have to pre order .imzgine when i tell my ftinds i got a train from you .and they know your a great u tuber .the i show them your vidios .on u tube .their all amazed and were all happy and i grows the hobby and your chsnnel .
The hobo union, and mini me are crying their eyes out...
MiniMe is excited! New trains are on the way
Now you have room for that Southern Pacific Cab Forward!
I have learned a few years ago that when you have a lot of trains, if you select several to sell off, you can actually enjoy the remaining trains even more. I guess in this case, "less is more". I'm getting ready to do the same for the second time. I like taking my trains I have selected to sell to train shows and get to demonstrate them in front of potential new owners, this way they can know that all the tech works as it should. I like seeing a new owner being happy with their purchase.
I’ll definitely take a look and try to buy some items.
Chris your are truly blessed to have such a beautiful collection of trains. Your collection of trains is what we as viewers all dream of. I feel that you will regret this sale in the years ahead. In the end it is your choice. I am happy that your not shutting down the channel. Take care
Yaaaay Chris you finally hit 50k subs 🎉🎉🎉
So sad to think we'll never see some of these engines running on his layout again I'll miss them all
Wow! That’s some great equipment. I’d love to have heard your thoughts behind why each was leaving the collection. Cant wait to see them all lined up for sale at York!
Sad to see this but there has to be a plan so I trust the process! Can't wait to see what is to come! Ignore the comments saying it is a mistake. Do whatever you want RBP
Saw some of your trains on a Dakman Production of the York show under Trainz! Wish I could of been there! Unfortunately, Trainz and I fell out years ago because they shipped worldwide but would not ship to Alaska or Hawaii (which made absolutely no sense) so they can keep what they have (no reflection on your choice of dealers - just my personal pet peeve). I did love Vince's Trains from Florida saying that Tampa is "God's waiting room" for buying collections!!! 🤣 Am I glad I live in Alaska!
I will take a look on Friday!
Aw man the glossy 4014 was my favorite one
I really wish I could add your Strasburg 90 (Current paint) to my collection. It would be an amazing birthday gift!
Chris, I am a life long collector of many things (comics, trains, watches, fountain pens, magic cards, etc). I long ago learned that items have to leave the collection to make room (and generate funds) for new stuff. If you don’t do this collections stagnate, and what fun is that? Here’s wishing you lots of fun with your future acquisitions and much joy to the new owners of your old treasures.
Agree! I also enjoy trying out new trains. It would be great to be able to just keep everything but that’s not realistic for me. Plus I have to be able to get new things to keep making the videos. Thanks for watching!
@bradgansberg1 I am life long collector of comics too. Are you getting the Batman or Flash locomotives from Lionel later this year? I could not resist.
Really nice trains you have and can understand when ya gotta let some go. Doubt I'll be able to afford any of these but I can dream an drool. I'm in the process of collecting still as I dont haveca place for a layout. My main lines are the Frisco, Mo-Pac, KCS and both the Texas Special passenger liner set with 7 passenger cars an the Texan freight set. Hope one day to have mine lookin as nice as your layout
Man the Blue Comet, NS OCS Train, so many good options...too bad I won't make it this Spring though.
The Mth 4014 was my favorite American steam locomotive in your collection sad to see it had to go but you had to do what you must hopefully the Mth 4014 gets is in better hands
Now I really need to try to get to York next weekend! Hopefully if I do, what I would like to snag is still available.
If I’m able to get one of these i would take great care of it knowing that it was on your layout at some point
Please keep UP big boy 4014
But Chris those engines were your favorite! Please don’t get rid of them I love those engines I’m sure you can find other models of them and keep the ones you have
sometimes we really don't know what we got till it's gone........
This was cool, you can own a piece of RBP, from Trains with a Z, i guess the C&O shay found a home.
Now that you'll have an empty layout, you should buy an MTH NYC subway train!
Lots of stuff I thought you would never let go. Wish I was going to york to snag the midnight chief and the black bonnet 2-10-10-2 (and many other things). I know all those items will go to good homes.
Sad to see these beauties go 😢
Understand completely. I had to sell much when I moved back to my childhood home. NO ROOM. I still have enough to enjoy and I still buy. Besides guys and girls, he's not selling his kids lol
Very surprised you are unloading the UP Heritage engines, and EVEN the Katy!!! Chris….did you hit your head on your bridge? LOL. They will all find good homes, I’m sure.
Thanks for creating this send-off video! A fitting tribute to these veterans - and the age of some of the footage hints how long it's been since they've run. Had I the space and cash, 4411 would have a home here. Can you please share how you decided which ones to keep and which to sell?

*D e p r e s s i o n i n t e n s i f i e s*
BRO I CAN'T EVEN AFFORD A PIECE OF SWITCH TRACK AND THIS MAN JS GAVE AWAY LIKE HALF OF A GIANT COLLECTION, GIMME SOME BRO😭😭😭
The generation of model railroading is not over yet I'm still planing of my Lionel O scale layout for my UA-cam channel in the future, still in high school but I'll be planing flas I'm in college.
Duuuude I’m gonna miss that blue comet
Unshrouded J and T1!!
I was more surprised by the new hairstyle Chris, will this be the new look going forward?!🤣
Also surprised you are selling the Strasburg 90...RBP Fans - what locomotive were you surprised to see leave the collection?
While the O gauge is way out of my budget and I dont have the room or proper track that could handle such massive locomotoves/ sets, I’m looking forward to Bachmann’s version of the Dreyfuss Hudson in HO, the cars soming out in Summer and the loco coming in December. I love streamlined steamers, they take second place to my bachmann thomas collection
The pain of seeing that shiny yellow one go😥
Nooooooooo. I'm still waiting for my new huge train. But one of these days I'll buy one of ur yrains
I wish I had an O scale out to own some of your amazing engines
If that SP SD45 goes on the website, I’m grabbing it. It will look good on my mantle with my 115 Berkshire. If the CN vets es44 is in the website as well, I’ll be grabbing it as well.
GOODBYE (C)2006
Less is more. Good luck with your sales!
