  • Talon, Mike, Kenny, I, and the rest of the crew have quite the mess to clean up after an ice storm passed through. One semi tractor & trailer jack-knifed on an icy bridge. And a Piggy-back stack got caught up in the mess, somehow. This is one of the rare wrecks that I can't tell exactly what happened. I sure know the outcome, however. It's all hands on deck for this major cleanup!!! I had to edit out the jack-knife portion of the video for reasons I won't go into. There is still PLENTY of action to be had to clearing up the mess from the Piggy-back. The steer axle broke loose on the lead truck. The second truck broke loose and went into the rear of the lead truck (horse). Somehow, the bridge was damaged in the crash as well. This thing was like a skating rink!! Thankfully, we brought plenty of ice melt and oil dry!! I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

There’s a few reasons they may not be shown.
      - Fatalities are a hard ‘NO’
      - Serious injury is highly unlikely to be shown
      - If permission isn’t / cannot be obtained, even though there’s no expectation of privacy in public, it’s always best to get permission to show things, especially of a potentially sensitive nature.

Ron, I was 7 years senior to your Dad! I loved to watch him on the job and
Watch him bring a quite peace to the problems!
As I missed my dad after he passed on to heaven, sure you will and are missing him when he went to eat with the Lord! I watched each show that he was in two or more times!
You have a tremendous crew and most all seemed to respect him and followed his leading without him saying anything!
Your son Ethan seems to be getting more confidence, I especially noticed
It when you were working the white 57 T-Bird!
I enjoy your show so much and really keeps me learning rather tha going mind dead watching old movies!

As a first responder myself, I can absolutely understand why you did not show the first part of this. Something I learned early in my career was that no one is going to notice if you are 30 seconds late, but they sure will notice if you don’t make it there at all. We get some very thick fog in my area. Sometimes you can’t even see 20-30 feet past your hood. Many times I’ve reduced from code 3 to code 2 just because it’s not safe. Always only go as safely as you can. Thank you again for another quality video.

The fact the jack-knife straighten out was not shown is no skin off my nose. We have seen quite a few times Ron showing those who's boss. Recovering the piggybacks however, that's new. Loved how it was handled and the modification to original plan made a ton of sense, given how Ron really tries to avoid making any existing damage worse or generating further damage Half expect him to recover a wreck in better condition than it went in sometimes. Always enjoy seeing a new conundrum for Ron and company to tackle. That's what makes it fun. As for the text comment about the red liquid is not blood, I had to smile and said "No, not blood, just transmission fluid. The blood of a rig is usually gold or black. Y'know... Oil." Prayers go out to those hurt or worse in that wreck and to those who had to witness it that they can move past such unpleasant sights. May your guardian angels always watch out for you and all who use the roadways. Stay safe.

      @@RonPratt Hi Ron,
even though it's a shame to hear that your channel stats are going down, there are many features that make your channel stand out.
Besides the family friendly content, it's the technical explanations and the complete working process with the driving part and also the communication with police and firefighters. I would keep that as your community appreciates that along with the reliable upload on Fridays.
I suspect that with your somewhat old-fashioned 20 second intro you are likely to lose new viewers in particular. The first seconds should be moving images, either with a text that arouses curiosity or cleverly chosen music. Just have a look at other successful channels and decide.
In addition, you neglect the community tab and here the smartphone users. There is still some potential here for new viewers, e.g. also with the surveys.
Whether a technical upgrade with drone footage will help, I can not assess, perhaps the weather is better suited for this in California.
What can't be helped is the growing competition on TV and here on UA-cam.
What most are not allowed to do are Code 3 orders, that is almost a unique selling point.
Please keep doing what works best for you and thanks for your videos.
      Best regards from Germany

Time to put a camera on Mr. Mike... See some behind the scenes work.
Being an retired owner operator I have seen all this from driving by. One always wondered what it would be like to be on seen. You answer alot of how's and why's and glad I'm not there... Stay safe 🙏

yeah that ice storm was a hell of a thing, i figured you would have your hands full when that hit. Here in Central Illinois we got freezing rain/sleet, then snow piled on top of it, i stayed home when that type of weather hits. Also HI TALON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just hope everyone is alright, yourself included. I imagine that years of doing this, seeing horrible wrecks, and unfortunately, sometimes seeing horrible things happening to good people, it can take a toll on you, it could take a toll on anyone really. I'd imagine this type of job could take a part of you. Sending my best wishes.

I was a traffic officer for 19 years of my total 43 years in law enforcement. I worked a nine mile stretch of US 101 south of San Josê, CA known as blood alley. I had the opportunity to work with many true professionals in the towing industry. I quickly learned to take the whole road and then ask the arriving recovery operator(s). “What do you need.” That always worked for me. Great job Ron.

Some people blaming truckers are the problem of accidents. Few are from speeding. But many are demanded for the load to be delivered. Truckers are stuck in the middle. People have demands but truckers pay the cost. Safe travels 🚛💨💨💨

My first major crash that I come across as a truck driver was a head on bus and truck, 50 kilometers out on a very remote highway, sadly as a truck driver it was but one of so many I lost count 30 years ago and all multiple death's, when I was a security contractor I was hit by a runaway criminal from the police at 150 kilometers per hour, but then again freezing rain in the early morning is absolutely horrible as most people have no idea what to do. Keep up the truly amazing work Ron, 👍.

Good morning Mister Ron and company, you had your hands full on this one, and that wasn't including the ice that you had to deal with, you and the guys did a great job getting the road cleared as quickly and safely as possible with a minimum of fuss and in a timely manner, I can only say prayers for all involved in the other day's mess in your area, and hope everyone is doing good though I heard that there were fatalities,
