Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching. Today, I show using our Peterbilt 389X with a Miller Industries, Century 1150R, towing & recovery unit #11, towing a large hyrail equipped truck to our shop from its breakdown location. This is a typical job for me, but, I understand that a lot of people are curious about the hyrail systems. The hyrails are the equipment on the vehicle that allow it to travel on the railroad tracks. If not towed properly, the hyrails can be damaged and THAT can be expensive. I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!
My common analogy, "there are many ways to reach 10". I could have approached this (any) job several different ways. The approach method is important, but more important is achieving the desired result, safely.
Went back to my traditional intro for now. The new Intro didn't go over very well. I appreciate everyone's input. Thanks again and God bless.
Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taken the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!!

Ron:
As a retired Calif. Hwy. Patrol Supervisor, I feel qualified to say that you are the most professional, experienced and considerate heavy equipment operator I have ever worked with.
Your knowledge and experience as well as your approach to safety and protection of the scene coupled with your outstanding equipment exceeds anything I have ever seen. You set a standard for all others to emulate. Anyone desiring a career such as yours should be compelled to watch your videos to learn how the job is done by a true professional.
May GOD bless you and keep you safe.
Wow. Thank you sir. I am honored and humbled. May God bless you as well. Thank you.
Hi Ron as a tow operator and dispatch/manager of a towing company for 26 years and currently can’t work due to being in remission from blood cancer I really enjoy your videos from Adelaide Australia
Best of luck in your recovery!
Wishing you all the best from Wisconsin!
Best wishes from yours brothers in the UK.
Blessings and prayers to you on your recovery. 🙏
I grew up in Adelaide, but now in QLD. All the best mate with your recovery
"...the Rotator weighs roughly 73,000. The Hyrailer weighs oh about 50 to 60 thousand...that puts us at...Heavy." You can't argue with that!! Nice video Ron!
The answer I was expecting was: The 'Tator is 73K and the Highrail is 50+K for a total of: Don't Ask and by the way, STAY AWAY FROM THE DOT SCALES!!!
They're not Overweight...They're Undertall and Big Boned...
😄😁😆😅😂🤣
The Hyrailer has a GW of 56,000 per the information on the door. The whole setup weighs just under 130,000 provided the weighs listed/mentioned are correct which I have reason to think otherwise. Stay safe everybody on both sides of the deal
@@HappilyHomicidalHooligan in his home state being a wrecker he is exempt on wieght limits im pretty sure
I could "feel" the weight of the tow by the way it was riding. A smooth job, done well, and safely. 👍
Thanks for sharing a normal run-of-the-mill bill-paying job, without the drama of many of your call-outs. It gives a more balanced view of your typical day.
Be safe, God bless.
I'd like to ride around town with Ron telling of all the recoveries/jobs he's done in each location.
Thanks for explaining about the other truck being occupied with another tow- I wondered why you used the rotator for that tow. My buddy works for a heavy tow company, and they prefer to tow heavy trucks with a wrecker rather than a rotator, since the rotator is so heavy already. Your explanations are always concise and understandable. 👍
I often find Ron answers my questions in the video without me having to ask. He's good to us.
I figured it was this or it was such a short tow that he didn't want to tie up the WS.
That star car pretty much stays on the road doing stuff we never see
@@excavatoree I have the same "problem"!
Long time viewer, hopefully I'm speaking for allot of people but thanks for including the drive! Keep it up Ron!
Spoken like a true Australian never miss a video stay safe
To add! You almost have the Aussie wave down pat too! Just the one finger lift is all it takes to acknowledge the fellow driver (sometimes, just a head nod will do for the locals that you see every day 😉)
Thanks for leaving in the driving portion back to the shop! That was fun to watch.
As you mention many times Ron.. there are many different ways to reach 10.. especially with things like hook-ups. Nice point out with the hyrail system and how it works with the load of the truck. Thanks for the full drive back to the shop and pointing out where you were along with that previous trailer lift that you did not like one bit! As for your weight estimate lol ... 73 with the additional 50-60 on tow.. every bit of... heavy! for american standards .. brilliant. thanks as always Ron for sharing another recovery
Always good to see you Ron! God bless.
Hey Ron that was a great video I like how you added in all the driving and also how you gave all the insight on how you do things the way you do it’s really cool to see how different people do different things.
Thanks Luke
keep up the most amazing work of keeping the roads safe.
Ron, thank you for another great vlog, may God bless you and your family and all your employees.
Always enjoy seeing something different!
Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you Ron for a Wonderful video. God Bless You.
another great video. love seeing what you do and how you handle each situation you come to. thank you for showing professionalism in what you do.
thanks for explaining the driving strategies when towing heavy iron - helps us understand why.
Thank you for an informative video. All the little "tricks" are helpful to know. I never, ever get tired of the Tator but would be very interested in seeing more of the Trail-eze also.
I always smile when I get to see you pull something heavy down the road with the rotator - that truck sure can get out of its own way without any fuss. Always a treat sir.
Thanks for a fantastic video with all the details that others could overlook. I like and appreciate your constant striving for Safety. God Bless you and yours.
Ron, I enjoy your attention to details, especially safety, your driving habits , especially in today's world. I was taught the same by my Father many years ago. THX
Great job as always. Safety is always a priority.
Who could not enjoy a Ron Pratt video, All the explaining of how to do the towing ,and all the rigging terms, always enjoyable

Thank you Ron very much for another great video. I love that you always take time out to explain how and why you are hooking up a vehical the way you do. Great job Ron may God bless you with a great day.
Loved the video Ron! It totally amazes me that those little wheels can hold up a truck like that! Love seeing the scenery along the way, I've been on 55 when my husband was a trucker. It's really cool seeing different things that you tow. Hope everyone is good! God Bless you your family and crew.
I am always amazed - seriously - at how deep and wide your skills run. The master of so many trades. Thank you for the entertainment and the inspiration.
Love your show Ronn, keep ‘em coming my brother.

Great video Ron... I'm sure the folks from Australia appreciate the attention you give them when you talk like them... I enjoy hearing their accent... always have always will... Loved the Crocodile Dundee movie with Paul Hogan... I used to work for the Maintenance of way and you are absolutely correct about the front tires not touching the rails when on the tracks... That was awesome work that I loved even thou it kicked my rear... Thanks for the video... Brings back good memories...! 😍👍
Well done, Ron. Always enjoy your videos. You and your crew are very polite and very professional.

Great video! I enjoyed the drive back to the shop part. You should do that more often whenever you can.👍👍
I always enjoy your work on railroad equipment. I am a retired supervisor and first responder for the Santa Fe Railway (one of the precursors to the BNSF). Thank you for this video. I am impressed as always.
Thank you, Ron for the great videos and being a GREAT example in so many ways. My late father drove a 5 ton truck, and thus I have always had an interest in trucking. I love how you acknowledge and honour our Great Creator and Lord. May He continue to richly bless you. From the Canadian West Coast.
Love the "tours" around your area. You'd be a great tour guide for MO. You know where everything is

Afternoon Mr Ron just an essay tow no one got hart, but still be safe. Have a bless weekend and prayers for your family and all of your employees.
Ron blessings mean no one was injured today but it really lifts me and reminds me to be thankful everytime you start with a prayer. Keep that bit in no matter what. We should remember to pray not only at times of fear and anxiety but at times of joy and happiness
Enjoyed this video and commentary.
Another great presentation. Thanks for sharing this insightful video. If you ever get tired of driving, you would make an excellent physics professor. You have an excellent presentation style and your empirical knowledge is priceless. Alternatively, consider offering your knowledge to local high schools for career day presentations. Geometry and physics applied to real world applications.
Wishing you and your team a great week and a blessed summer season. Peace brother
Looks much easier to hookup when your not next to the traffic zooming by at 70 mph. Great video as always
Another great job and great information
Always a good day when you put up a new video Ron!
IMHO I think that your patience when teaching "the new guy", respect for others and professionalism are your biggest and best attributes.
If I was younger (I'm 58 now) and in good health (I've had two heart attacks and have bursitis) I would definitely love to come work for you.
God bless and stay safe. :-)
Hi from Australia, Ron. That was a good tow, and you are correct "She'll be right"

Great job Ron. Those drive shafts can be a big pain in the rear. One thing I've noticed is the lanes on your roads are very narrow. I hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend my friend ❤😊. God bless you 🙏.
