Daria! Thanks Casey for inviting Daria to demystify the HDR tool. I think I will actually read her part of the manual now. It will help now that I can imagine a face and voice as I read the text.

Oh, man, so that's the Goat's Eye View narrator! I watched a lot of the Goat's Eye View tutorials because they were so clear and helpful, and I always assumed she was a lot older because of her mature, accurate, and professorial presentation. When I watched this Casey Faris tutorial, I still didn't know who Daria was. Then she talked, and I recognized her voice right away! Wow, you both are so first rate! Thank you for the wonderful presentations. It's truly amazing that such great educators as yourselves are accessible to everybody.

Awesome work guys! I've been hesitant about working in the HDR Grade section vs the Color Wheels, but no longer! :P (Y)
EDIT: So I gave the HDR a shot at the color grade and the resulting render times of HDR vs my grade in Color Wheels was 5x longer. 😳
I think the longer render time is noteworthy. I’ll likely stick with the wheels unless I’m really in a bind in the coloring. 🤷🏻

It would be nice to integrate more help into Davinci. Even new HDR panel has no hovering over with mouse help. In comparisson, when I hover my mouse in MS Word over any element, I get a popup window with quite an extensive help and shortcut key hint. Reading books is good to get the concept, but it takes time and who will do this over and over again after each new release of Davinci?

  • @rolithesecond

I strongly assume the LOG wheels are called LOG wheels because the way they affect tonal values is in a logarithmic fashion. :)
