This video was an absolute life saver. I took one look at the default effects in Davinci Resolve and nearly just gave up on creating videos because how was I supposed to work with those. Thank you so much for making this video. Once I downloaded the zoom and caption plug-in I felt so inspired and just sat down editing away happily for hours. Again thank you so much! You’re awesome!

My favourite plugin is BeatEdit. It creates markers for all the beats in music tracks. Make sure to set the frame rate in your project to the same you want to make your timeline, since it's directly affecting the marker creation 👌🏻
Not a big commenter, but I will say that in addition to the very well produced content, the other reason I subscribed is your 'real' presentation style. Especially with the decision to leave in your dialogue flubs (rather than hard cutting every-single-sentence). You come across much more authentic, human, and lend additional credibility to your content. As a professional producer (and former DJ myself), I consider your channel among my top go-to for media information, tips and tutorials. Keep your head up and follow your passion.
Piggybacking on your comment. I cannot stand it when creators cut everything they say, implying they either messed up or they think that it somehow saves time. Having more flow brings cohesion. The twitchy dialogue doesn't work for me - maybe it works for the younger crowd.
I was looking for a way to put great captivating captions on my videos for a while, but was using the default create sub option as I didn't want to spend ton of time adding text+ for every word. The fourth plug-in seems like just the kind of alternative I needed. Thank you
Man! First things first: Great video, awesome session! I am only a couple of hours on DaVinci but with 35 years of editing background and experience on lots of different systems; switched lately from Avid. Watching tuts now to get into the DaVinci Groove :), stumbled over the auto zoom too but you explained really well AND the Fusion Overlay hint was bummer; love it! Many thanks for the video and the links! Hey uh ... You may wanna install some kind of pop protection to the microphone. I have very bass heavy sound (Which is my problem, of course.), and it makes very clear that such protection is missing from your setup.
I can't get that Place It plugin to show up in Resolve. It installed, but I see nothing in the list, even after restarting. Is it not available in 19 Beta 2?
Yep, as the above said, search for it in your effects panel and drag it over top of where you want the effect. Then you drag the effect (zoom for example) onto the adjustment clip
@@kur1oso If you open up your preferences in Resolve, there's a section called "Audio Plugins" where you can point Resolve to look for folders containing the VST plugins. Just add the directory where the plugin was installed and check the box in the "Available Plugins" section. You might have to restart Resolve once before it becomes available.
Incredible video and everything is super well explained! Just one question - with the Place It plugin they have a 24hr option for 10 dollars. If I use that, do I have lifetime access if I download it within that time or do I have to be subscribed to make it work? Thanks a million!
