At first, I thought this was just going to be another tutorial showing the same thing over and over again but man was I wrong. Thanks for this great in-depth tutorial. Learned some REALLY useful stuff that I will be applying every day!
You just made my day with this comment. It’s nice to know that my “vision” for the video is working!
i liked how you noticed that how many UA-camrs aren't showing so many details on their videos but one thing no one has ever did is sharing the footage they are working on so we as beginner can follow the process either ways the video is hundred percent helpful, thanks Dunna
Glad you found it helpful, I’ll keep that in mind for the future.
I would watch content like this all day long. This is the best resolve video I’ve seen regarding color grading.
Thank you!
Yes!!!! This has been the video I was waiting for 2 years
Nice!!
This is pure gold. Not only do you explain things in an easy to understand way, but you also go into your thought process on why you do what you do in a useful step by step way. I can't thank you enough!
Absolutely incredible tutorial. It brings years of me studying all these different topics into one cohesive real world walkthrough. Thank you so much!
Amazing tutorial. As someone just getting into color grading it's HUGE to see someone going through the process of grading a whole scene. Thank you very much!
This is incredible! This tutorial totally aligns with my level color correction/grading knowledge, which is something higher than a beginner's. Many concepts became clearer and learned many new things. Loved tha fact that you work on a real project from beginning all through the end. Definitely the best color grading tutorial I have watched so far! Thanks man!
Awesome work from start to finish. Thanks for sharing
Finally, an incredible tutorial that goes in depth and shows everything clearly. Thank you so much for this video and for sharing your workflow!
Excellent video from start to end ! Huge appreciation for what you do!
Oh man, thank you so much! Having this end-to-end process walkthrough is simply priceless. So much to learn here!
SO WELL DONE. I'd been looking for a video like this. I really appreciate your detailed and clear explanations. You left me with no questions. Thank you thank you.
Dude...thank you for making this video! I've spent days mostly learning things in small chunks watching a smattering of videos for different things, only to find out that I would have done things differently as soon as I learn more. Getting a proper baseline of a more linear process makes it much easier to conceptualize my project holistically. I also have a much better idea of what gaps in my knowledge I need to fill.
This is by far the best tutorial I’ve found for color grading. Thank you so much for breaking it down for us rookies. ❤
Dude, this is brilliant! I was actually afraid of learning Davincii, but with your tutorial, I got rid of that set back. You are one of my favorite channels of all time. Keep it up. Much love from Romania!
Excellent walkthrough. I especially liked how you used the Post Grade Clip setup for final touches. I don't see this approach mentioned much in other color grading tutorials. So, including this was very helpful and inspiring.
Excellent. This is EXACTLY what I was trying to teach myself today but not very well or complete. This is a fantastic end-to-end flow that I desperately needed.
Now I’ll redo the work I did today to see what differences can be made.
Simply awesome. Thank you!
The best color grading tutorial! Really helpful and also easy to follow! Thank you!
Your job is amazing, man. It's exactly as you said, a lot of tutorials teaching using just one clip, or even using a photo.
Greatings from Brazil.
Obrigado!
Wow! You really nailed the process brother, I'm impressed. It has been a year since you posted this, but it truly is timeless. This is good I'm going to watch it again, plus bookmark it for future reference. I've always struggled with this part, but you have brought 'clarity' to the process. Great job!
I sat down expecting to find this video to be like every other color grading video. However, I watched all the way through because your process is so simple and easy to understand, but accomplishes a lot. I went back to my project after watching the video and was able to get the exact look I was going for using your tips. Thank you SO much!
This was very educational, thanks for taking the time to break it down. Now just to go out there and get the right shots to be able to try it myself!
What an awesome tutorial - so many useful tips ❤️
Incredible video! Thanks for going through the whole process. I learned so much!
Incredible video. This is a master class that simplifies daunting concepts into digestible chunks which easily apply to many scenarios. Instant add to the favorites and will be re-watching many times! Thank you for taking the time to create this tutorial, Dunna!
Thank you so much for the kind words!!
One of the best color grading tutorial for the newcomers in DVR. You made it easy to digest the complex subject of coloring in resolve. Those who have come from Premiere pro, they will mostly benefitted by your explanations in a short time. Thanks a ton bro.
Outstanding lesson! At last someone who knows what problems beginners might encounter. This video goes into my color grading playlist🙂
Mr.Dunna.. I am a Vibrant Grandma on a steep learning curve. YOU, SIR, are the easiest teacher to listen to ! I have been in deep dive mode for many hours. You explain clearly with clarification on the little details where one could easily get totally lost!
Please send me a link to your videos. I wouldn't want to miss one. My grand kids are waiting for my inspiration. I must get into production. I love this!
Momma Eve
That’s so great to hear! The best way to make sure that you don’t miss any videos is to subscribe to the channel and hit the little bell button to make sure that you get all notifications. Then UA-cam will let you know when I upload!
Thank you for creating this video - I learned more here than I have watching any video in the past regarding color and thank you for the CTS tutorial!
Man, I've been learning DaVinci for a couple of months, looking at tons of tutorials, and this is by far the best and most detailed one out there. Thank you!!!
Incredible work mate, keep it up. Just enough information to help keep up, without over explaining and tiring the viewer. Well done!
Fantastic video 🤌🤌. This wasn't just another color grading tutorial but a proper real time process. Learned a lot from it.
Thank You so much for this. As a total beginner it gave me the confidence I needed to get started, knowing where to start. Excellent explanations.
This is legit the BEST explanation I've seen on DaVinci color grading
I'm just starting to color grade after using DaVinci for several months. This video was a great primer for understanding nodes and everything else. I'll be watching this several times! Thanks!
Fantastic tutorial. A very practical lesson that I actually understand and can apply to my projects. Thank you!
This is the most useful tutorial on color grading I've found so far! Thank you!
Have been half through yet but gotta admit that’s so so helpful!!! Thank you so much man. You make following you so easy 🙏🏽
Just about to make the switch from Premiere to Resolve so this is perfect timing. Fantastic vid with a good walkthrough of the workflow!
This was the shortest 45 minutes I can remember, what a great blast of information and good flow of explaining.
For the last 6 months, i couldn't find a video on color correction and color grading... Amazing video and really glad that you explained everything keeping in mind about the beginners.... this will definitely helo me a lot moving forward.... Thanks a ton and keep up the great work you've been doing...
Thank you thank you!! I have been so scared of the colour page (so many options and controls I didn't know where to start!!) and with this one video you have made it less daunting! I can't wait to get started!!
Easiest the best explanation of colour correction I have watched. Thank you so much.
for a newbie to videography, this tutorial is so much helpful thank you
Dude, this is amazing. Great content. Exactly what I was looking for. Find really decent videos on grading is like digging. After going through a bunch of other superficial tutorials I'm glad I landed here. Keep it up!
That’s what I’m looking for. You really know how to explain in a simple way. God bless you and your family. Thanks for this 🙏
hey dude! I think you've got a great way of explaining things and really appreciated you explaining the keyboard shortcuts you used and what different buttons do, as a beginner/intermediate I found out new thinks. Also great workflow!
first time shooting in s log. this video actually helped so much. even the simple adding a node which many tutorials didn’t explain how to do
One of the best color grading tutorials I've seen for DaVinci Resolve!
oh man its defenitely sacred knowledge for beginners in filming as me. I really appreciated the way yo've explained: from beginning to the finish, sequencing, wrapping up all the details. s-log3 now doesn't look to be so scary. thank you so much !
Never shot video or anything but I have been wanting to get into it and decided to watch this video when I woke up this morning. Very Very well done!
Along with your video on lift, gamma, and gain, this was *incredibly* helpful. I'm only shooting on my webcam and I'm amazed at how I could get a strong, natural, and dynamic image out of this process!
Well, I just learned a ton - feels like a few hours of training packed into a shorter very well explained tutorial. Thank you!
Phenomenal! Truly appreciate you taking the time to show us your work flow. Have this one saved, definitely will be referencing it on my next project. Thank you!
That’s great to hear! Cheers!
This was extremely thorough and well done. Thank you.
Will definitely be using your process
Well done, very informative! Love the final look! Great job!
I really appreciate this! It helped me on my most recent episode, and then I can see a huge difference with your tutorial! May God bless you and continue to grow you and everything that you do🙏🏾🙌🏾
great stuff man, appreciate that all the info is in one video, and that you add your own feeling to it. Not just robotic approach.. i like emotions. thanks
Really enjoy your videos! Grateful to learn.
So good! Love the long form!
First video I have seen where I actually understand color grading and its process. Many thanks 👍
A very details and one of the best video out in UA-cam which explains the different aspects of Color Grading, the workflow management of color grading is so important and thanks for showing how different nodes are maintained, I am an armature and have recently started my Journey in editing and Da Vinci Resolve being a great tool is overwhelming at times as there are so many options and honestly you can get lost or overdo things using this powerful tool... Dunna you have very precisely explained all the points and this is beyond being helpful... Thank you so much
Love this video, Thank you!
Thank you for explaining this thoroughly!
I’ve been searching for almost 3 month to learn davinci resolve and color grading thank god i found your YT. Moreover you explained it in easy way to understand and all of the question in my head are answered in this video. It’s really help me out! Thank you! God bless you!!
I’m so glad to hear that! Thanks so much!
This is the BEST Resolve grading tutorial I've come across brother. Thank you.
Very nice tutorial. Love your workflow, very neat. Thanks for sharing!
This is hands down the most comprehensive all encompassing color grading tutorial I've watched. And I've watched a lot of them! Thank you !
Thanks for saying that!
@@dunnadidit - therre are some buttons and features i didnt even know existed and i've used this program for years- someone said it- this is a true masterclass
do one with vignettes and object tracking
So wholesome! We are often very shy and don’t want to meet new people… but it could turn out so good!
Awesome video!! I subscribed to your channel because of this video. Straight to the point, well explained and no BS. Keep up with the good work!!!
This is by far the best color grading video i have ever seen . Thanks a ton. Love from India
This is really good and in detail. I just need to watch and practice again and agin
Glad to hear it!
Best color correction video on youtube. And that grease moment! thank you!
after switching to davinci and exploring color tools a bit I am so happy I came across this video, helped me organise my knowledge and put it to work. THANK YOU!
Finally a great grading tutorial that I will be watching again again while practicing. I was so pissed that all the other tutorials calling it 'simple' and then proceed to make an ER diagram of 16 nodes.
One of the best tutorials on the topic!) Thank you!
I'm just now getting started in video editing. This is super helpful!
Finally someone that shows the actual process that a colorist has to go though when grading an entire scene! Most people on UA-cam only put a nice grade on one single clip and call it a day.... I would suggest to get the look in place before balancing out the shots so you don't get to do everything twice if one of the shots fail to match with the desired look.
Glad to hear you liked it! I totally hear you on the look. I go back and forth on this. It's tough to get the look without a balanced shot but it's tough to do the balance without a look haha. Often now, I'll balance out one shot, create a look and apply to everything and then balance the rest underneath the look.
@@dunnadidit yes that is how I do it most of the time also 👍🏻
Really want to thank you for this video. I've watched probably over 5 different tutorials on nodes and color grading up to this point, and couldn't rack my head around it. This was the first tutorial which actually made sense and it was really easy to follow. many thanks!
Great to hear!
this tutorial was actually helpful and walked me through all the steps.
This is the best video I ever seen in my life. Thank you!!!
This was so helpful, thank you so much!!
Great examples. Thanks so much for posting!
This has got to be the most informative video on this process I have seen in a looooong time - no «quick fixes» or «easy solutions», just solid advice on the whole process as a starting point, and then we have to put in the work ourselves, experiment and gain the knowledge and hands on experience to properly master this - Great video, thanks for taking the time to do this :D
Thanks for the kind words!!
Thank for the tutorial, really enjoyed it. Will be coming back to it again for reference! 😄
This video made me a subscriber. Wow. Love this workflow.
Man, thank you so much for this, I've been teaching myself how to grade my short film off your tutorial, this was a huge help, thank you
woow, this must be the most wholesome color grading tutorial i have seen! so many just regurgitate the same basic rules of "make the scopes looke like this because that is correct" like you should follow that blindly, and not consider what you are actually looking at, and what you are matching it with and trying to achieve. even in the same scene, some clips will be of darker things or bluer things or something, so it always felt so naive to me to think the scopes should look the same. I have also had some understanding of the difference between color correction and grading, but this really showed a perfect practical example with the fast changing light during golden hour, and how to adjust for it and which parts of the scopes you should actually care about and not, and when to use your eyes and mind and creativity! 10/10! :D
Finally 🙏 this is exactly what I've been looking for, thank you ❤️
Amazing video bro..thanks for explaining the whole process in detail
Dude !!
Thank you very much! This video helped so much and man! You can tell it took him days to do this video great work! I’m rewatching it !!
This was great! Just hopped on the Davinci train after finishing my last project in PP. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Fantastic Dunna! thx
Has anyone told you that you should create a color grading master class. I’ve dabbled in Resolve but I would definitely purchase an in depth comprehensive, how to color from beginning to end. Love your videos!
This was extremely helpful! Thank you.
this is one of the best color grading tuts I've ever seen thanks for breaking down everything the way you did
Great video Dunna! It's great to finally have a start to finish tutorial!
Cheers!
Awesome video, so helpful as I try and understand this complex topic
