@obimk1104? “Car… child safety… pedestrian avoidance”…? This is a truck towing an electric RV. Nothing about child safety or pedestrian avoidance - though Tesla’s are top notch at those things… got the highest scores ever on Euro NCAP widely considered the toughest and most complete assessment of modern vehicle safety tech. Cybertruck will be just as safe to people inside it and out. Tesla has AI that prevents pedal misapplication instances when people are near the car as in parking lots. I’ve seen about a dozen videos where this feature has saved dozens of kids lives, or at least they’re not crippled. So chances are the only “shit car” around is… yours? 🤷♂️
as someone who has towed many times, having a good camera showing the hitch is much faster than controlling the rv itself. however, this does give you the ability to completely protect the trailer from theift by moving it so that the hitch is completely blocked against the wall. its an ev trailer so chance of some theif just picking it up and pulling is pretty low, but i guess thats cool. but honestly, as someone who has towed an rv multiple times, this is not ideal at all. you never want to need a specific trailer to tow with your expensive pickup truck. the plus of having extended range is cool and if you live in it, this would be pretty cool. but most people park their trailer for long periods of time and having so much technology involved, makes it extremely susceptible to rats and other pest related damage and once a wire gets bitten off here, it becomes a much greater issue than a normal trailer because its all connected.
I think there are about four companies that I know of that are working on putting EV motors in the wheels now, but I’m willing to bet it won’t be long before it could be an option with many trailers to extend the range of the tow vehicle. I have a gas tow vehicle now that goes from a normal unladen range of about 380 miles, to 225 miles with the trailer, so it’s great for a gas or EV to get back half the range. Plus the party trick to me is with all the solar on this trailer, you can recharge the EV while camping.
I don’t have the money for any of this nor do I find myself ever liking many videos on UA-cam but this was a great watch from start to finish. The advancements of technology is a sight to see.
CTO looked pissed the whole time. Almost sounded like "resting Russian face" or whatever his accent is. Pebble couldn't find a better spokesperson for this video?
The biggest issue I saw in other towing videos the cyber truck just doesn’t have the brains yet to adjust its range which is a big problem. The trailer is what I have been saying is needed as it has the motors, get the trailer and the truck to talk and share power and range it will be a real beast of a setup
I already see a big problem if this trailer is so innovative why use ccs charging?? Makes no sense!, every new ev product should use NACS standard for charging its just bad business not to smh
I'm just wondering were you able to get any numbers on what the efficency is while towing this thing? I was thinking about maybe reserving a Pebble, but a little disappointed Pebble is blocking people from releasing the numbers.
Weight is always a concern for travel trailers. By my back of the envelope calculations, that 1500lb of batteries, motors, etc. will get you an extra 50 miles of range. Well, maybe less since I didn't take into account the extra 1500lb in the mi/kWh estimate. Don't forget that you're going to need 2 fast chargers at each stop, one CCS and one NACS. The 45kWh stated capacity is also almost exactly the estimate for the Cybertruck range extender. You could buy one of those, a normal trailer, and a duffel bag to hold all the leftover cash.
Trailer GVWR of 6200lbs, actual weight? 5000lbs? Battery should only be 500lbs for 45kWh, motors and drivetrain vs standard axle probably plus 1000lbs? Moving that weight by itself would likely take 500wh/m, but there may be a big aero advantage behind a tow vehicle given its shape. Not sure how much power they will "drive" it forward with, but I bet there could be between 90-100 mile range improvement, 45kWh/500wh/m. Putting the range extender in the CT is basically a permanent add, leaving that weight in the trailer seems like a better idea. Says it can charge an EV from the trailer, so maybe only one plug in to charge both at the same time, need to see what the outlet port from the trailer is, along with charge controller capability. Cash outlay, you are correct. Way overpriced.
How efficient was the Cyber Truck with the electric assist from the Pebble? It's common knowledge now that towing kills range. Have you tested how far can the CT drive with the Pebble?
My guess is the 180-230 mile range. Jerryrigeverything towed 10k lbs and it went 97 miles or something, this weighs about half that and is more aero dynamic, so I imagine this is roughly the realistic range when towing.
I was gonna say something funny about how Americans re-invented something Europe has had for the past 75 years - the caravan. but in honesty this is a great new development combining all the best things from caravans, motorhomes, trailers even a little tiny house and food truck sprinkled in there, and last but not least the electrification, system with motors and all that. its awesome and I hope it does well!
CCS is a selling point for me. Sorry, but even as a Tesla owner and stockholder CT seems like a lost cause. It’s not the best for roadtripping and towing. I own a Tesla to J1772 adapter I can use for level 2 charging if that is the only option available.
CT on its own with ~100 mile towing range isn’t going to replace a traditional tow vehicle, but with a self propelled EV chassis trailer, it may be doable. I have a Tesla M3 and it’s been fine for multi thousand mile roadtrips, so the CT on its own is the same. Pretty much any Tesla is as long as there are superchargers available. Having NACS on both the EV tow vehicle and the trailer will simply things.
@EverydayChris Thanks Chris for the prompt response! Please ask them for this feature in a future review/interview. I feel like it'll be useful in campgrounds with a lot of open fires.
Chris says that towing cuts EV range because of the weight being towed but that is not accurate. There are multiple factors. The primary reason range is reduced while towing is because of the added aerodynamic drag of the trailer (which is why Pebble focused on streamlining the trailer shape) and that drag increases significantly at higher speeds. Just going 65 instead of 55mph makes a big difference. Also rain and headwinds cut range noticeably. The other factor is rolling resistance (having additional tires on the road) and then weight.
another problem is you cant increase the range of the EV while some massive diesel trucks can have up to 2500 miles of range and cross entire deserts very easily.
Not true. Let's Assume it's perfect aerodynamic, no any resistance from air. You need to apply extra energy for it everytime accelerating. Whence you are driving up hill, you need to apply other extra energy to against gravity. It's physics.
The only thing wrong that I could see you doing when hooking up the trailer was using a Tesla cyber truck to tow it with. it's very well known there a serious flaws and issue when pulling something with the truck. the aluminum is so thin on the rear mounting points to the frame there's a high chance the whole back end of the truck could just snap/break off.
1 - Perhaps - when you lock the door from the inside, the door step outside could retract? .. and obviously visa versa - when you unlock the door - put the door step back into place. Make this a customisable option. It would really say "do not disturb". 2 - I think the outside window tinting needs to have intermediary steps or levels of opacity - perhaps even allowing the top of the windows to stay more transparent than the bottom? I think the transparency of the windows in the Cyberlandr can be adjusted - just no scaling of transparency between the top and the bottom of the same window... i3 - In my current Caravan, the biggest use of Water is washing dishes. I like the idea of a small 4-people dish washer - as it will save water and give us all more camping time. Please look into that option! Second place is the shower - so I hope the shower head has a fine mist option. 4 - Where is the spare tyre? 5 - I believe an awning is coming. If there was a "wind" detector - perhaps the awning could automagically wind itself in so it does not get damaged? ... and can we have flexible Solar Panels on the Awning as well please! 6 - Can we have a Camera at the rear - that links to the towing vehicle driver seat? 7 - What about Proximity sensor driven outdoor lights to light up the outside for when one comes "home" - obviously also with a timer system as well as fully On and Off.
Thank you so much for towing the Pebble Flow with the Cybertruck. Our Cybertruck is still on order, and we were looking at the Lightship Electric Trailer, but you have changed our minds and we're preordering the Pebble Flow today. Great to see, but the first problem will be when you go to charge and you find out there are bugger all drive through chargers and you have to unhitch first.
14:18 - That's such a great idea. I should lower my light switches and thermostat to 28" instead of 55". I hate not having to kneel down to operate switches and control panels.
They should put an electric motor on the trailer to help with the range it could actually push the truck while truck charging the truck and when truck is pulling the trailer the trailer can be charging that way you get unlimited range
13:51 : wow... Space grade panel gaps! That cabinet door looks like it's dragging on one end. The ceiling looks just as bad. Hopefully the production version has more attention to detail than the "pre production prototype."
The trailor looks well-built and i like the material they choose, However, I think the price at this point is out of reach for average American family; for 100k you can basically stay in expensive airbnb for years isn't it.
What do you guys think? I'm about to take a 3 month vacation.. I think BANFF, Canada will be first.

Great to see, but the first problem will be when you go to charge and you find out there are bugger all drive through chargers and you have to unhitch first.
Luckily it’s as easy as the press of a button.
Yeah that’s on there bro lol
Did you watch the video at all? 😅
14:06 - Nice vinyl wrap. Will the bubbles be standard?
Hopefully it patinas to match the truck.
Great presentation, I loved it
When will the tailor be released?
I’ve been so curious about the pebble. So dope!!
Why does this have a CCS plug? Why not NACS?
13:51 : wow... Space grade panel gaps! That cabinet door looks like it's dragging on one end. The ceiling looks just as bad. Hopefully the production version has more attention to detail than the "pre production prototype."
$109k without slide outs to expand the rooms is ridiculous.
Greece the hitch and ball maybe 😊, I can see a ton of things why this is a bad idea in reality.
What was the Range Loss in teh Cybertruck when Towing the 6500 lb Pebble Flow?
what version of the CT were you using? foundation / cyberbeast?
How many miles did you make towing this ?
watch whistlin diesel video. That hitch is going to snap off on you.
The trailor looks well-built and i like the material they choose, However, I think the price at this point is out of reach for average American family; for 100k you can basically stay in expensive airbnb for years isn't it.
no safety chains?
Love the production value of your content as it’s evolved over time. Well done video.
Thanks man! The pebble team helped a lot
@@EverydayChrisEither way, it’s been cool to see your channel leveling up. Good stuff my man.
cool and all, but can it emulate LOZ:Wind Waker?
did it have build in anti sway control unit?
CT + Pebble Flow= PERFECT COMBO
It’s so sexy
