@@EverydayChris Never ever get the first of a new model, that's what i learned from working at Honda for 16 years , there's always something wrong and bunch of campaign for the newly design, I work for Rivian and even that i wouldn't buy the first gen, second gen R1 is a lot better
@@ChicagoTechGuy much love 🙏🏽 Lowkey had to brief my wife on how much attention this is about to get…. Probably just going to take the model 3 on quick runs to avoid those trapping conversations.
When I got my invitation to configure, I jumped up and down with joy and immediately place my order all within less than 10 minutes! No way I was going to wait, it's been 3 months since I drove home with it which means my brand new MX hasn't seen the road ever since. I'm an old lady, never know when the grim reaper may knock on my door so for me any waiting for the right price is out of question. BTW, not a single problem so far and if something comes up I'll drive to the service center with the same smile I have when I look at my CyberTruck.
I have have had my CT for 4 months and knock on wood have had zero problems. Nothing. And it is just so much fun to drive. it never gets old driving it. If you own one then you know what i mean.
Problems of new model with everything new, technology, design, materials and architecture is not specific to Cybertruck or Tesla. Avoiding the first year of new model with everything new has been prudent idea. By the time 50k units are out, they would make it right... and hopefully cheaper.
7 service issues for 6 months is a lot, especially for something that’s considered “forward thinking” ! I enjoyed the interview of cybertruck owners. Interesting feedback.
I’ve owned 3 new cars in my lifetime and 2 used ones and none of them had as many issues as his cybertruck. If I paid $100,000 for a truck and had issues like he had I wouldn’t be forgiving, but I guess Tesla owners are willing to put up with quality problems to have the latest tech.
I test drove the CT on Friday. The truck I was driving was nice. Only issue I had was the steering wheel sounded like something you would hear from an old gokart.
Hey Chris! I have a cybertruck and the tonneau is slightly crooked as well. How did you recalibrate it?? It’s bugging me so bad. I’ve already taken it in 3 times to get the tonneau fixed cause it wasn’t closing
A little bit of issues!? I would go crazy with those defects after spending $100 grand on a car. It looks fun to drive. I watched the entire video and enjoyed it. Thanks for posting.
Quite disappointing in so many ways: initially we were told it would get up to a 500 range, the cost would start at $39,000, lots of small issues after purchasing. The X is far superior in so many ways.
Great review and advice Chris! Gen 1 of a new vehicle will always have issues. Good to know most of ur issues weren't major. It's good build, even for Gen 1.
You're right. With 2 million reservations , I thought it would take years to get your CT order fulfilled. Now you can skip the line and get one in a few months, lol!
I mean, it makes a lot of sense to try to squeeze as many people who are willing to pay a premium for Foundation (myself included). Once the Foundation series is over and the price drops to $80k (or less in the future?), I suspect the wait time will increase a lot.
Model 3 gen 1 to gen 2 had major improvements overall. The same will be done with the Second Generation Cybertruck. Tesla is focused on production efficiency; prices will come down and CT will be as common as a F-150.
Tesla haven't send me the charger for my Cyberbeast. Now i have to spend money to charge out side. When we buy, they show us gas saving but its not saving if you use supercharger. Slow services.
First year models always have issues specially that Tesla built a new vehicle from the ground up with lots more probabilities to fail. Tesla will eventually fix all the issues within a year or two. Waiting patiently for another year. Hoping that Tesla will allow customers to lease the Cybertruck so that we can get one now and purchase later once all the bugs have been fixed. :)
the way I see the Cybertruck is a car with potential but heavilt rushed into production. I always tell my friends I like the potential of the cybertruck and hopefully I'll get one in a few years from now, but I wouldnt get one rn until it becomes reliable
Since you have tried all the passenger models, are any of the headrests comfortable? I have 23Y, i am 5'11" and my wife is 5'2" and we both find them uncomfortable.
@EverydayChris I bought a nice looking pillow but it unfortunately is still uncomfortable. I'll check which one you are recommending. Maybe it will be better.
I've been able to order my CT since Jan 2024. I also owned a 2013 P85 MS for 5 years. You think Tesla service is good now, it used to be white glove. I'm content to buy my Cybertrucks when the Foundation Series offering ends.
I would like to add one extra caveat anyone who wants a Tesla cybertruck wait an extra 18 months to 2 years you will find the foundation series for $50k to $60k all day. Once the hype around this vehicle dies down. They will drop the price of the vehicle by 20 to $30,000 and you will find it for half the price.
We know it's not just rainbows and flowers - there's also the unicorns. ;-) I passed on the Foundation series - too much money and too much risk of early build issues. When they come around to me again for the non-Foundation version, I'll have to see if they've resolved their build issues and where the competition has gotten to make a decision. I'm 6'7" with "well used" knees, so I'm only looking for something akin to the roominess and seating height of my Navigator and F150 from here on out. Anyone out there driven both the Cybertruck and F150 Lightning that has thoughts on how they compare seating wise?
I’m a new Tesla owner, model Y long range to be specific, and my number one problem is the built quality,Jesus Christ,is extremely bad the finish on this car,the paint is bad the door seal are bad, every part that meets other part is misaligned and not consistent with the same space in the gaps, all the panels in the interior are not just cheap feeling but also they look like they are going to fall, and the other day the calipers had a malfunction and I had to tow the car because the car was useless,it was giving me errors and not letting me go on drive-neutral-reverse,every time I was trying to shift the car was putting park ,this is why I was leasing,to try first if I was comfortable with not just accepting the bad quality, also the fact that to charge an electric car takes way to long and you have to add to much time if you’re going on a trip,so far I have more negatives than positives, but for some reason people think is nice car and since my wife is the one who drives it most the time and she is realtor is ok ,which for a realtor is fine as long is in town the properties,I found out as a new Tesla owner that the range is not the one advertised, and you have to be aware of how far is the closest supercharger because you can panic if you’re not paying attention to battery levels.
I finally cancelled my preorder last week, I wanted the 500 mile version and i have no intention of sacrificing my bed for a range extender . I was keeping it as a placeholder but I am finally done. The value just isn't there. I am going to check out the silverado but I think I am going to stick with ICE trucks until we get some SS batteries
think the "foundation series" owners will get just smoked on the value of their vehicles. but man was it cool to have one in in 2024 thats for sure, talk of the town. rich people can do what they want, but the poor people who financed it lol
I don't think it will lose that much, just hang on to it for a few years, should be like any other car tbh. I am not rich, not poor either and only have 1 car, so honestly it's not that bad when you look at it that way. My wife and I always made 1 car work, but we did have 2 cars a few years ago, so both of the payments combined equals to what we pay for the Cybertruck. Not bad really if you ask me. Trucks are expensive loaded anyways regardless what you get.
Anyone paying $20k more to get it early is either making money with it or doesn't care. It comes with FSD. Once that is turned on and the way it is developing, probably will keep it's value somewhat.
Yea I’m definitely waiting for the huge price drop tbh might be 2026 but I don’t want to feel like the people that bought their teslas during covid. Taking a 20k hit is too much to deal with for me
@@EverydayChris Lol thanks! Ordered my CT Foundation 3 1/2 years ago. For an email saying I should be getting it in 1-2 months! Super excited! I’m in Ottawa Canada!
For the truck to take so long to finally hit the market and then come out with so many problems for such a high price seems like a failure in the design. Is this really the best vehicle Tesla could have made? Does this car help Tesla continue to follow its vision statement? The most impressive thing about the cybertruck for me is that people can spend $100,000 to $120,000 on a truck that doesn’t do what was promised and doesn’t have all the features people paid for when they bought it and yet owners are on uniformly irate. No other car company would have that kind of loyalty from their customer base.
No......not worth it at all. The amount of money you're paying to get the range it gives you it's a rip-off. It doesn't give you any usable truck capabilities. The Chevy Silverado Eevee is a far better truck with a cheaper MSRP price tag more range and better capability.
Marketing, I guess there's more trucking than people hauler. For me, a 7 or 8 seater van or SUV is best. Model X isn't it, I test drove it, and felt it was a 4 ppl luxury vehicle.
