- In this video we are having a look at the Maserati Ghibli Trofeo. I don't just want to know whether it's any good or not - but more importantly is it a true Maserati and where could the brand improve in future models to come.
After all this will most likely be the last one to have a Ferrari derived twin-turbocharged V8.

Great review Sid. I had the opportunity to buy a 2015 Ghibli diesel recently fully loaded In a great colour with perfect interior for an absolutely banging price. But I fannied around or should I say procrastinated and now it’s sold to someone else and I am gutted. So the moral of the story is if you get an opportunity to get a Ghibli at a great price…..Do It!

The 3.0 diesel Ghibili was rubbish vs the equivalent 530d, but that badge always gave it that extra special feel to it.

Not sure why but i really like this motor, i wish they would do a "R" version with a louder exhaust, lower ride height, slightly bigger wheels and abit more oomph, id imagine 600bhp is easy to achieve👍🏻 top vid lad

Ciao from Germany Sid, love your review. I own a 2022 Ghibli Trofeo - fully equipped with all options available (except special color) - and can subscribe each of your comments. Am I jealous to a better performing BMW 550i Competition or Merc E63 AMG? Not at all. If I would have wanted one, I'd bought one. As I'm unique, my car also should be unique ;-). I prefer the italian flair and style which comes with Maserati, for my purpose the perfect cruising car with good comfort and a Ferrari derived power-engine. If you want to drive fast, you can, but it's no obligation. I also always use the "Sport"-mode to have a better exhaust sound. With a Ghibli Trofeo you can drive below the radar - no need for a "Competition". You know what you've got: it's a Maserati! Who else drives one? Hard to find, and that's good. I just enjoy every time I fire up my Ghibli Trofeo, even if it's just the way to the supermarket ;-). Well done Maserati!

Got the trofeo and also the V6 Ghibli. Can say that the V6 makes bit more fun because you hear the engine much more than you can hear it the trofeo and it sounds bit more like a Ferrari enging but the trofeo is a son of a gun especially on the highway that trident transforms in to a serious monster. You pay that much money for the brand and the fact that you drive a car which not everyone drives and it will be always a gorgeous exotic car and an eyecatcher

Interesting note about these cars, you could order them in really ridiculous colours (lime green, orange, yellow, brown. light blue ect) with blue/ white two tone wheels, black/ green two tone wheels and you could have blue stripes, orange stripes, yellow stripes, red stripes or orange and yellow dual colour stripes. If more than 30 people had ordered these you could end up with some really bonkers specs 😂
