I was driving the Maserati Granturismo from 2013 to 2019. Now I'm driving the Maserati Ghibli. Doesn't sound or feel the same as my old car but still a pleasure to drive. Can't wait for the new Granturismo to come out in a few years.
Absolutely loved this review. I think you really nailed what a Maserati is and indeed, what the Italian ethos is, when it comes to cars. Beauty, Character. Perfectly Imperfect. Bravo Ciro. Bravo!!!
I wish Ciro could do an updated version of this car, 2019 is now here, and the improvements, especially in the interior are noteworthy, from 2017 on. This car is now less *imperfect* and much more perfect, IMHO. :-)
Been looking for a good review of the Ghibli for some time now. Believe me, this is the best by far! Whiteout competition. Should have lasted longer....and it really nailed the Ghibli! Edit 2024: I have my own Ghibli for over 5 years now, and. I still love it. 2 remarks: first, they all have heated seats, and second, yes, the space in the back is limited. That is because they huilt the engine and gearbox behind the front axle, to get a 50/50 ratio. That’s why the Ghibli goes in to the corner when you turn the wheel, and an Audi still want’s to go in a straight ligne because of understeer. Nobless oblige….
I got my Ghibli S with a sticker price of 78K. Has the red calipers and paddle shifters as the only options. This desert wind is a breath of fresh air in a world of German dominance.
i own one. love it. i think it takes a certain appreciation and knowledge of maserati history to understand the "perfectly imperfect" comment. i think, the perfect imperfection of the previous generation maserati's (old quattroporte, grand tourismo) stemmed from the pure italian build, but, the the perfect imperfection of this car and the new generation cars (new QP) stems from the slightly awkward marriage of Chrysler components to italian design. which are really two different kinds of perfect imperfections. i still love the car immensely, but always aware that i am driving a fully loaded jeep grand cherokee interior with an italian exterior, italian touched engine....
Cars.co.za New York... I bought the vehicle immediately when I saw it on the dealership floor... at Ray Catena Maserati New Jersey... fully loaded $114,000...
Preston Joslin The car that I have costs $115,000 ... It's a great vehicle; best car that I've ever driven; but it could use a little bit more horse power.
THE SOOTHSAYER yeah I'm 16 (in highschool) and the car will most likely be 30k or even less when I am 18 then I will buy it too bad that your ghibli is probably worth 70k or so depreciation on those things are terrible if I were in your shoes I would have bought a ferrari f430
I’ve owned BMW and Mercedes and now the Ghibli SQ4. I’ve never fallen in love with a car until now. Yes the others were very nice and had better tech, but the Maserati has a soul.
Great review! Shades of a young Jeremy Clarkson! Well done!I just traded my 911 Turbo for a Ghibli S yesterday and I love it. It's exactly as he says, it is somehow so much more than it seems. In my Turbo (which was an epic car in its own right, and shall be missed, but I needed a real back seat, alas), everything was so composed, I would think I was doing 70 mph, and I'd look down and I was doing 100. The Ghibli is the opposite: I think I'm doing 100 and I look down and I'm doing 70. Maybe that's less effective on a track or on an instrumented test, but as a driver, it's infinitely more involving and exhilarating. Truly, an incredible car.
Ciro, I think you finally sold me on the Ghibli.. you are the best reviewer I've seen, and this car is pure Ecstasy and Exhilaration.. I will be getting one soon..
Got my beautiful red 2017 SQ4 this weekend from Ferrari-Maserati Atlanta. Maybe it was Ciro's nice video which helped me choose red over the blue. Both are georgous!
The sound is incredible... very quick car.. and unique.. why wouldn't anyone choose this over a silly BM'er and be part of the herd.. :-) .. and I owned a 335i.. no comparsion to the way it makes you "feel" when you drive it. But, get the 2017 or later, as the features are much better.. and SQ4 or none..
The review on the Ghibli is very on point, great job! Now the newer model, starting from 2018, is much better because it has been improved in many ways (safety and tech features, interior materials and design, the gears selector stick, infotainment). I love my new S Q4. But what he said in the inception of the video is full of stereotypes, I am sure it was just a joke. Italians, for him, and I quote, "don't make a lot of sense, good at something: food, football, organized crime, and cars". This is a classic example of generalization. Like any other population, we have positive and negative aspects, I am not going to list them all as this comment section is not the proper place. But surely we are good at many other things... ;)
I watch this video over and over then look over my shoulder and see my beautiful Ghiblet S sitting next to me in my garage. It's my daily driver. M-W-F and on weekends. I will be driving this car 288 miles per week. I am from San Clemente, CA. I love this video and Ciro's controversial South African accent. I was going to get a BMW 550I but I am so happy I got this anything but ordinary Italian Stallion. Take me to J. Bay and Skeleton Coast Namibia for a surf. I'll show you Trestles and related breaks.
2:16 I have a 2020 S Q4, and its interesting to note that every single one of these issues has since been fixed. Except for the leg room of course, but that's just how it is with that kind of car :)
I'm constantly wondering what is this nonsense, to complain about cars infoteinment... damn I even don't need that shit! I need to play music and control the climate control. It is a bloody car! Is's purpose is A) to move you from place to place B to give you trill - it can be done without infotainment! Even if Maserati (it is valid for any other car brand) fit the most up to date infotainment it will be outdated in 6 month or a year. But the car itself will be a masterpiece even after 10 years!!!
Nope: they built the engine and gearbox behind the front axle, to achieve a 50/50 ratio. That makes it a great car to drive (no understeer….), but you have less room. It’s just a matter of what you are looking for….
LOL, "All cylinders marching their way through your wallet," nice! Thanks for this, mate, I actually thought Audi S3 is as expensive pricewise and maintenance-wise, like this Ghibli. Local is lekker, I am subscribing now.
+Tadas Hi there, thanks for watching. I honestly would, but South African car pricing is so unique and so utterly unrelated to the rest of the world, that it would be pointless to convert. We have a really odd set of taxes and duties on car imports here which skew the figures. I suppose I could just quote the current Euro price but then which country would I quote for? It just becomes a minefield :\
+Tadas Good to know, thanks. What do you think about putting the international prices in the video description? Nature of UA-cam is audience is very global, could get clumsy to mention dollar, pound, euro, baht, Aussie dollar in the video itself.
The cars are nice but why do they price those cars so expensively? The premium italian brands should charge only a small premium over the German competition.
I could afford a way better car than this but I love Maserati for being exotic. This is the car that is not only functional but exciting and good for business and family. No SQ4 here in Singapore only S
Aaand now in the UK you can pick up a very nice example for as little as £15000 and stand out from the mundane throngs of uninspiring Audis boring Mercs and downright ugly Beemers. The Maserati is now coming into its own like a fine maturing bottle of 21 year old Macallan Whisky.
g. "They strive for charisma" I think this chap just got............ IT. Don't compare an Italian car with .... well really anything. Its Italian it is full of passion and attitude. If you get it like it lets go!!!!!
This car is good looking, the interior is also nice, however, it isn't THAT good looking, nor that fast to cost this much..not that i wouldn't like one but this is a bit much.
this could benefit from a little editing. EG "This isn't designed to convert petrol into thrust and noise, although it does that very well". you could say it isn't designed for thrust and instant power, but a certain charm that evokes the senses in a way other performance cars cant replicate.
The absolute best review I've seen of the Ghibli. Explaining very well, what it's all about. Thanks!
I know it is kinda randomly asking but do anybody know a good site to watch new series online?
@Rafael Grady Flixportal
@Kayson Jameson Thanks, I went there and it seems like a nice service =) Appreciate it !!
@Rafael Grady glad I could help :)
The passion in your narrative of Italian culture is contagious. Love it
I was driving the Maserati Granturismo from 2013 to 2019. Now I'm driving the Maserati Ghibli. Doesn't sound or feel the same as my old car but still a pleasure to drive. Can't wait for the new Granturismo to come out in a few years.

Fantastic review, amazing piece of automotive art!
This is about the best video review of Ghibli. I personally own 2011 Granturismo MS Sport line and I absolutely LOVE it!!!
I wish Ciro could do an updated version of this car, 2019 is now here, and the improvements, especially in the interior are noteworthy, from 2017 on. This car is now less *imperfect* and much more perfect, IMHO. :-)
Just picked up a 15' q s4. In love with this car already. The sound is intoxicating.
The best way to describe this car - "Monica Belluci on wheels". Nailed it!
Amazing review!!! Seem 100 reviews of the ghibli, and yours really says exactly what i feel when i drive mine. Thank you!
Same here! This vid made me buy mine two years ago! Still Ike to watch this vid every now and then.
Ciro you really nailed this review. wow perfectly imperfect. nice one!
By far the best video I’ve seen about this car
Lovely to hear, thank you
I love this car… and I love how accurately (and entertainingly) he describes how it's more than possible to still love a car with so many "flaws".
Great review! That Maserati Ghibli in black with 21" wheels looks stunning!
Amazing video! Finally someone who really understands and openly talks about the italian car's ... Soul!
Grazie

Thanks so much!
Probably the best reviewer ever
Probably the best reviewer I have come across. Don't think this car would be for me. 'Perfectly imperfect'? Think I'd prefer 'imperfectly perfect'!
Best review EVER period.
I got my Ghibli S with a sticker price of 78K. Has the red calipers and paddle shifters as the only options. This desert wind is a breath of fresh air in a world of German dominance.
What u prefer to me for Ghibli? What must I attention

I just bought the SQ4.... It's amazingly fast, furious and amazing!
+THE SOOTHSAYER congrats! Let us know how the ownership experience goes. Where are you based?
Cars.co.za New York... I bought the vehicle immediately when I saw it on the dealership floor... at Ray Catena Maserati New Jersey... fully loaded $114,000...
+THE SOOTHSAYER so how's the car I'm thinking of getting a base model
Preston Joslin The car that I have costs $115,000 ... It's a great vehicle; best car that I've ever driven; but it could use a little bit more horse power.
THE SOOTHSAYER yeah I'm 16 (in highschool) and the car will most likely be 30k or even less when I am 18 then I will buy it too bad that your ghibli is probably worth 70k or so depreciation on those things are terrible if I were in your shoes I would have bought a ferrari f430
definitely, this is my favorite car. especially with these colours on it.😍😍
I got mine last week and love it!!
Bally Singh 1.3cr onroad right?
I’ve owned BMW and Mercedes and now the Ghibli SQ4. I’ve never fallen in love with a car until now. Yes the others were very nice and had better tech, but the Maserati has a soul.
Best review of the Ghibli on the net
I drive it, and you’re totally right
one of the first overall positive reviews ive heard of this car!
great review, the last minute everything you said was perfect. I have had that feeling before. It does feel good.
Loved the ending monologue. Gave me goosebumps

Neotorque hi im in btw a 911 convertible,a panamera and a ghibli wht wd u advise me?
The way you describing this car is Fantastic

The commentary must be like this all time ! Was hilarious 😂
Best review of the vehicle. Thank you for a professional review.
You are such a great presenter! Enjoyed your reviewing :).
Best review I've ever watched! Thank you ❤️
Great review - one your best. Keep it up!
this channel deserves more subscribers!!

Nice review!!
I have test driven the car and it is fun driving it.

2:16 I have a 2020 S Q4, and its interesting to note that every single one of these issues has since been fixed. Except for the leg room of course, but that's just how it is with that kind of car :)
That last minute, almost shed a tear.
What a great review, what a great job
Nice video awesome review thank you i put this in my favorite section
Great review!
I've been thinking about this long and hard but I think I've made up my mind after watching this 🤗🚥🏎
Awesome car. .......and nice review.
2024, this vid never old
Ah thanks so much!
Dude excellent review and production for that Maserati. Do you have own car show at TV?
Absolutely brilliant. ..
Love this car so much
Love the car ! I hope to find a dark blue Q 4 used to be a daily driver I plan to keep my 2006 911 but dislike it on a long trip

Just go enjoy your Nissan.
Wasn't the back seat legroom improved in the facelift model >2017?
Nope: they built the engine and gearbox behind the front axle, to achieve a 50/50 ratio. That makes it a great car to drive (no understeer….), but you have less room. It’s just a matter of what you are looking for….
Very beautiful sedan! :)
+Ausgefahren - Aus Liebe zum Auto. And a great review as always! :)
how about the Q4? i thought that was the top off the line Ghibli?
+De Mam Not sure if they get that in South Africa? There's not much snow down there.
Very nice review!
LOL, "All cylinders marching their way through your wallet," nice! Thanks for this, mate, I actually thought Audi S3 is as expensive pricewise and maintenance-wise, like this Ghibli. Local is lekker, I am subscribing now.
Great to hear, welcome to the family!
would be nice if you could tell prices in € too.
+Tadas Hi there, thanks for watching. I honestly would, but South African car pricing is so unique and so utterly unrelated to the rest of the world, that it would be pointless to convert. Ciro De Siena Prices are more or less the same in all Euro zone.

This is my Dream Car.
What about the steering? I've seen a lot of reviews saying it's absolute rubbish.
It's perfect! The only issue is the steering wheel is on the wrong side
Best video ever ,dream car 😭💔😞
Bravo, you get it!
They only cost this much brand new, they drop very cheap once sold on. The S is an amazingly Beautiful car and Engine.
My S doesn't even have the red calipers. Its very much a stealth car. Still fun to drive though :D
beautiful machine
The cars are nice but why do they price those cars so expensively?
The premium italian brands should charge only a small premium over the German competition.

lol heated seats in a leather car have zero use. Your body warms the seats up quicker than the heating can.
emozioni emozioni finalmente!
I really like it too.
Thank you, I get one.
Grazie!
agreed.... but tell that to Doug Demuro

Nice car
"It looks like a meal you can order from McDonald's" 😂😂😂
If you really look at it, the Maserati Ghibli is the most practical two door sports car.
my dreamcar
This car is good looking, the interior is also nice, however, it isn't THAT good looking, nor that fast to cost this much..not that i wouldn't like one but this is a bit much.
Funny guy... great sense of humor. The car may not be worth the money because it depreciates rapidly and it's undependable.
+THE EYE OF GOD You don't get it. Go buy your Toyota
The Maserati Giblet 🍗
c400/c450 please
Beautiful “
this is why the 4200 cabiacorsa and the gt will shoot up in price. they will be the last true maserati cars.
It would also be worthwhile to note that the AWD "Ghibli S Q4" model is the "most expensive" version of this car.
I think the alfa Romeo quadrifoglio is a much better car with more power and like a 100k cheaper.
this could benefit from a little editing. EG "This isn't designed to convert petrol into thrust and noise, although it does that very well". you could say it isn't designed for thrust and instant power, but a certain charm that evokes the senses in a way other performance cars cant replicate.
01:57 ... not perfect finish lol
I am Italian, yes I don't speak like an Italian, Ciro 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😇😂🤣😂🤣🤣
He's like New Zealand's Jeremy Clarkson.
The H is silent
This guy kinda sorta looks like Jimmy Kimmel
It is beautiful but thats not good. Averaging 20 no no no
+Abulele Kufa if you have R1.8 million to spend on a car, i'm sure you can afford that much fuel
Yeah id rather buy range rover sport than this
Buy a Range Rover and look like everyone else or buy a Ghibli and be unique
That car is the most unreliable piece of shit ever made
