    I’m sticking to strict Carnivore. Down the road I could see myself adding fruit/honey but no time soon. I will never go to artificial sweeteners again or believe their zero sugar label as for me it’s just a gateway to go off the rails again.

      I have been doing this for years. I can tell you from experience. Only eat ruminate meat and drink water.
      Please do do an experiment eating just ruminate meat for 90 days with blood work.
      The next experiment is to combine this with fasting, then do other experiments with different intervals of fasting.

      @@JennyMitichyou are doing a great job!!!
      Please do another video and call this experiment Keto diet experiment. I would not call your experiment “Dirty Carnivore” you cannot be a carnivore and eat donuts and cream puffs. I know it was a singular cream puff, but it was not a small cream puff.
      Also add a continuous glucose monitor and a ketone monitor to the mix of information.
      We live in a sea of toxic foods!!! People are unaware of how toxic the food is, you can demonstrate this with bloodwork (testing)
      One experiment that you are inadvertently performing is your visual look experiment. You definitely look much different, to my eyes you looked much better eating a strict carnivore diet. I think this very important!
      Women in particular need to see the improvement in their looks by changing their diets. Most people change their diet because of vanity. Which is a legitimate reason in my eyes.
      We live in a visual world. We are constantly being judged by our looks, the goal always should be to look as visually appealing as possible.
      People need to see visually what changes with their diet choices.
      I personally think that any carbohydrates in the diet change the look of a being either human or animal.
      I also take care of animals. Diet drastically changes the appearance of animals.

    I am so glad I found your video. I've been watching a lot of videos and some of these carnivore influencers are pretty glib when it comes to their information. I appreciate you keeping it simple with just you and your test results.
    I am just starting Carnivore after 6 months of intermittent fasting and 2 weeks of transitioning using a keto protocol. I am still a little dirty in my carnivore diet using avocado oil until recently. I just don't have enough animal fat at home. (besides butter to cook in). I'm also doing a fair amount of dairy. Still lost weight (6lbs) feeling less pain in my joints and body. Not sleeping great yet. Not feeling weak or any keto flu. BM is ok. No diarrhea and the constipation is fixable with a little more fat and water in my daily intake. I want to get blood work done after I've been strict for 30 days and then again at some point before I get relaxed about it. Thank you very much for posting so much in the description box. New sub.

      Have either of you had a Cardiac Artery Calcium score? After getting a 318 and NMR LabCorp test, I still refused statins until I paid for a Quest fractionation test and saw sdLDL too high. So started 10mg/d rosuvastatin. Also, while refusing, I reduced processed carbs and dropped LDL-C from 130 to 99 but based on NMR, cardiologist was still pushing statin. Thank you! That's a lot of work, and a lot of data. It's hard to see the bottom line though. As predicted by current science, the cholesterol numbers seem rather disassociated and counter intuitive, but that was expected, I guess. I wonder why even look at them...To some extent I have the same feeling wrt fasting glucose. I'm left kind of wishing for a more concrete demonstration of the benefits of carnivore eating. I guess that comes from the weight loss?

    • @JennyMitich
      @JennyMitich  10 місяців тому +1

      Hello! There are some people out there that don’t think you should look at cholesterol numbers at all. The reason I like to look at them is because I see them as a window to your metabolic health, kind of like a canary in a coal mine. They can tell you if your metabolic health is out of whack, for example, if you have high triglycerides and low HDL, that can be indicative of an insulin resistance issue. But they should not be viewed within the context of cardiovascular health or disease, as cholesterol is not causal in heart disease.
      As far as fasting glucose, I do think people should be aware of that. Before carnivore, I had a fasting glucose of 100 and now my fasting glucose is anywhere between 80 and 97. I think people also need to know that fasting glucose is not just influenced by what you eat, it’s also stress, sleep, or lack thereof, exercise, etc.

    First, thank you for sharing your experience! Now, walking is what normal humans do, it's not exercise, its a baseline. You burned 2400 calories in a month? I do that in 1-2 workouts, not bragging just comparing energy levels. Conclusion: Carnivore diet will not support intense exercise lifestyle. This is also what I experienced in my venture into Carnivore. I wasn't able to maintain my normal schedule: Muay Thai 5 days, strength training 1 day and 20 miles of running per week. Carbs help your muscles stay hydrated and increase glycogen levels both of which are major factors when it comes to calories burned, this includes passive calorie burn when not exercising. It doesn't work for everyone!

    • @JennyMitich
      @JennyMitich  11 місяців тому +5

      Hello! I don’t think that is the correct conclusion. First off, The Apple Watch is not accurate. I just gave it to compare the two months. Second, you obviously have a lot of time to exercise and it is a priority for you. I have twin toddlers that are two years old and work full-time, so walking and a bit of strength training is about all I have the time to do. That is in no way saying that I would not be able to do an intense exercise lifestyle. There are plenty of people on the carnivore diet that do. But at least you tried it for yourself and determined that carnivore is not right for you. I do not think it is the only healthy way to eat, and you have to figure out what works best for your lifestyle😀

      I call BS on you burning 2400 calories in 1 to 2 workouts… unless you’re morbidly obese!!!! A one hour sprint wouldn’t even burn 1000 calories. Machines and watches are generally way off. Dude you probably burn 600-700 in an intense Muay Thai session. And that’s all out, no breaks. And the lighter you are, the less calories you burn. But nice try.

    Thanks, super interesting for me, being a carnivore on day 85, but mostly incomprehesible sadly. First of all, I am Dutch, and you talk a bit fast, which is okay but not for specific numbers and bloodwork. Also, bloodwork uses different parameters in the Netherlands. Everything you explained about your tests went right past me. Could you therefor maybe elaborate more about your conclusions? How did you feel in on strict bbbe in August, and how did you feel in September on dirty carnivore? Did one or the other satisfy you more, leave you more hungry, give you more pleasure? Were there differences in mental clarity, emotional moods, physical wellbeing? Did the dirty diet make you happy, was it worth the effects, like less weightloss and cravings? Do you now prefer one or the other? Would you go dirty diet again and if so, would you set a time period, like a week or month, and how often would you allow yourself dairy, veggies or carbs? And for another time, I would be interested if you tried to notice differences between effects by stevia versus artificial sweeteners. Thanks for everything you share, love, Samar

      Hello and thank you so much! I’m sorry the language barrier got in the way of the information. I felt very good in August, and very rundown in September. BBBE was more satisfying for sure. Mentally, BBBE was better. I don’t think dirty carnivore was worth it, because the first two weeks of October, I ended up being very inconsistent on carnivore and eating a lot of very high carb, high sugar items, and I think that was influenced by the artificial sweeteners that I eat in September. I think it stimulated my hunger. I have fully cut, artificial sweeteners, and I really can’t eat dairy. I tried having a tablespoon of heavy cream in my coffee a couple of days ago, and it gave me stomach cramps within a few hours. It’s very disappointing, because I love dairy, but it does not agree with me.

      Hello and welcome! My advice would be to start with keto, get your carbs down to 20 g per day. That will make your transition over to the carnivore diet easier. Make sure to have electrolytes on hand, and take them in the morning. Other than that, just eat until you’re comfortably stuffed for every meal and don’t eat again until you’re truly hungry. You may feel like garbage for the first few weeks, but that will improve 😀😀😀 there are some tips at the end of my 30 day carnivore diet update video that will also be helpful😀

      @@anafeller4069 hello! Cholesterol is not causal in heart disease. As long as your triglycerides are low and your HDL high, you would be in good shape. In addition to low triglycerides and high HDL, I am always concerned about fasting glucose and A1c. Are both of those in a good range? I also like to take a look at inflammation markers. I would recommend watching some of the videos I have linked in the description of my bloodwork videos, there’s a lot of doctors in the low-carb space that talk about LDL cholesterol and its function. As I am not a doctor, I really can’t give personal medical advice, but I am not concerned about my higher LDL numbers because my triglycerides are so low and my HDL is so high. I am of the belief that LDL cholesterol is not bad, and it is in fact protective. There are studies out there that show that people with the highest LDL also have the lowest all cause mortality.

I think for a lot of people, keto is completely fine. For me personally, I was eating meat, fruits, vegetables, and a little bit of gluten-free grain, and my weight loss was very slow. Hello! The first month on carnivore can be a roller coaster. Especially if you are also trying to go cold turkey off of alcohol. What you were feeling right now is carbohydrate withdrawal. I recommend keeping up with electrolytes, that can just be a teaspoon of salt in 16 ounces of water in the morning, and trying to get as much rest as possible. If it becomes intolerable, eat some vegetables and just do keto for a little bit.
      As far as feeling sad about having to eat this way for the rest of your life, you may not have to! The goal is to get metabolically healthy again, and then you might not have to be so restrictive. A lot of people go on carnivore for 90 days to reset their systems and then slowly start to re-introduce one food at a time to see if they have a negative reaction to it.
      It’s good that your pain has declined and you’re feeling more relaxed, that will only improve as you continue on strict carnivore. The beginning is the worst part! But I promise, it gets better. 😀😀😀

    • @JennyMitich
      @JennyMitich  11 місяців тому

      Hello! The way I look at cholesterol is as a marker of metabolic health. If you’re metabolically healthy, your triglycerides are low and your HDL is high. That typically corresponds with normal A1c’s and fasting glucose under 100. That just tells me that everything is working the way it should. When you start to get pathological trends in cholesterol numbers, such as ultra high triglycerides, super low HDL, a B pattern and an abundance of small dense LDL particles, all that is telling you is that something is out of whack in your system, and typically it has to do with insulin resistance or metabolic syndrome. I see cholesterol numbers as the canaries in a coal mine.

I eat at least 3k calories a day and I have still been losing about 1lb a week. You mentioned that 2500 calories was very high for you, how high above normal is that? If it is quite a bit above normal then does that mean I would need to eat 1k calories extra to trigger the "feldman protocol" response?
