- What's Up Guy's! Today we check the top 10 most underrated games for the N64. The reason i chose this subject is because Firstly, the N64 was my favorite console of all time. Secondly, all the top 10s for N64 was the same top 10 games.
Those being:
-Banjo Kazooie

-Donkey Kong 64
-Star Fox 64
-Mario Kart 64
-Majoras Mask
-Golden Eye
-Super Mario 64
-Super Smash bros
-The Ocarina of time
Growing up on the N64 I knew there is games that can rival those of the top 10 but they never get recognized. That's why I made this video, to shed some light on the games that are missing the well deserved spotlight. I hope you guys enjoy!

Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness should also be on this list because people just love to sleep on the Pac-Man franchise to the point where you don’t see Pac-Man games for fifth and sixth gen home consoles (re: Pac-Man World 1 & 2, Pac-Man Vs., Maze Madness, Pac-Man All-Stars, Pac-Man Adventures in Time, etc) on the list of the best/most underrated ones for these consoles (PS1, DreamCast, GameCube, N64, PC and Xbox)
I feel like it's better known now. It's one of those games that became the definitive hidden gem on the console and gained recognition for that reason, ironically losing that status in the process.
Mystical ninja starring Goeman, diddy kong racing, and bomberman 64 where among my favorites. I hate how expensive mystical ninja is on the 2nd hand market as I only rented the game back in the day
Diddy Kong racing wasn’t under rated. It sold well and got amazing reviews.

That’s not the point tho. Point is they need an “X” amount of entries. None of these lists are legit. It’s all about thinking of 8-10 games that have something in common to a degree
I loved playing snowboard kids growing up. Just like you, my brother and neighborhood kids would spends hours taking turns playing this gem. So much fun 👍

One of my favorite games for the n64 are the extreme g series. Particularly part 2. So under rated.
That’s interesting. I always thought the 2nd one was too slow and focused on weapons too much compared to the 1st. I’m actually playing through the 1st on an emulator (just couldn’t deal with how terrible old school games look on a HD TV) and I’m having a blast.
Extreme G 1 also has a awesome EDM like soundtrack

I don't know how anyone could make a list of underrated anything and add a Pokemon game on there with a straight face. And Diddy Kong Racing is in no way underrated
I know right I honestly would have picked Turok:Dinosaur Hunter in place of Pokémon snap, a lot of people have played Snap and hell they rereleased a reboot of the title very recently. And Army men: Sarges Hero’s would have been my replacement for Diddy Kong racing although that game could be really hard.
I would have loved to see San Francisco Rush 2049 in this vid. That game had great graphics that pushed the N64 to its limits, killer soundtrack, and an awesome battle mode, stunt mode, and even an obstacle course!

I remember Diddy Kong racing being really popular, not sure why it would be considered underrated.
I don't know why Mystical Ninja - Starring Goemon is so underrated. It's such a good game.
Because a lot of assholes think you're a weeaboo if you like it. Don't these idiots that think that realize that a lot of games they play is Japanese like Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Sonic, Pac-Man, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Mega Man, ect, pretty much almost any games on a Nintendo or PlayStation console is made by Japanese developers. These pricks need to stop pretending that these games were made over here in the west or something.

I bought a n64 recently and watched tons of videos to see what to play with my kids. This video led me to some real gems. I have had so much fun bonding with my family with the games you listed. From yelling at each other about power ups in snowboard kids to pausing the game to explain the pop culture reference in gex. Thank you so much.

Wife got me a n64 for Xmas since switches were hard to find locally lol so I stumbled on this video to look up old games I hadn't played as kid, only critism I have is idk if I'd personally classify diddy Kong racing, or bomberman 64 as underrated since everyone I knew growing up had or played those two.... otherwise solid list, Imma check put gex, I remember it on ps1 but didn't know it had a n64 release
Yea I wasn't sure about putting those 2 on the list. So then I decided on defining underrated as the top 10 games that's not on the top 10 n64 games of all time list. Which the top 10 N64 games of all time is in my description. I hope that made sense XD
they dont make the top....20...maybe. if thats the case then they kinda are underrated. diddykong has a legit argument vs mario kart.
Bomberman wus underrated the second one is rare as hell now because no one likes it and they only made a limited amount since sales where way down doto the first release

Nice to see a list giving props to games that aren’t always in the top 20 of every n64 list. I would have personally swapped Diddy Kong Racing for Rocket. And put Fighters Destiny in too

Great Video. I would put Diddy Kong Racing at number 1 personally. Gex was a really good game but I have to say I always wanted another Diddy Kong racing. It took me years of playing it to finally open up the pigs mouth and make it to the moon.

I remember playing Diddy King Racing in 1998. The silver coin challenges were so rewarding.
the gex game looks cool and it's model and animations look as good as the sat/psx/3do releases.

Banjo Tooie deserved to be on this list. It doesn’t get the same kind of love as the first one but IMO it’s better. Such a massive, epic adventure.

I completed Diddy Kong Racing a month or so ago. It really suprised me, how great this game is. I think it's really sad, that there are not many fun racers with such a good story mode like Diddy Kong Racing.
Yea, there has never been another game like Diddy Kong Racing. I did another play through recently and I loved it. So nostalgic
The green fire boost is the key to beating the "pig". When I got to space my mind was blown lol.

I miss the Gex franchise as a whole. Yes, it only lasted 5 years with only 3 games, but they were all fun to play. Mainly Enter The Gecko. Believe it or not, my Uncle actually owned a 3DO, and he had Gex for it. We'd always take turns on it. But yeah, Gex sadly has always been underrated these days. Like, after Deep Cover Gecko came out, then 1 year later, no one talked about Gex anymore, which is a shame. Speaking of underrated 64 games, I also felt(IMO) that Doom 64 and Hybrid Heaven are pretty underrated. Doom 64 really shocked me back in the day. I thought it would just be a port. Insted, it was a brand new Doom Game. And Hybrid Heaven, Dam, RPG elements with Wrestling style moves, and a pretty good story. Good List Man. Its crazy how many people don't talk about Diddy Kong Racing. Only true N64 owners will remember that game I guess. And that "meh" at best DS version.

I grew up playing n64. Gex was a favorite that i just recently tried on ps1. He has a lot more one liners on the ps port.

3: King Pro Baseball (longer name in Japanese but this game is seldom known or talked about)
2: Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (Seriously nobody knows the game anymore despite how ridiculously popular it was back in the day and it’s weird)

The love for gex enter the gecko is so respected that was a hilarious game great platformer and so was Glover. I recommend looking for Milos Astro Lanes :)

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon is great and underrated but due to its rarity, Goemon’s Great Adventure is even more underrated. It’s also a standout title for the N64 because its not trying anything different. It’s plays like all the other Goemon titles before on the Super Famicom. It overachieves and is honestly a top 10 N64 game.
So glad Snowboard kids & Diddy Kong racing gets some recognition
it was releaving to see pokemon snap on a list like this. Like obviously its a good game, but I feel like I might have overpaid for it. I just got an N64 and wanted to play some of the classics. I will probably wait on buying too many more games (for now ive got glover cuz it was cheap, smash because I love smash, and of course snap), but I think im going to be satisfyed with the loadout ive got.

@@acrididi I will try and work on another top 10 video. I just recently re downloaded everything needed to make more UA-cam videos. My hard drive went bad and I just haven't got back up to a point that I can record and edit the way I used to. But as of last week i got all that ready for when I'm ready to start videos again so I had plans on making more content soon. Thanks for being interested in my content. @@acrididi oh man Im excited for you. I will warn you, glover can feel a bit janky but what can you expect from an old game. If you can look past the flaws I think you will enjoy it. Gex I played on both Playstation and n64. Same game, Playstation it handled better but the experience is still there as long as you look past the flaws again. Playstation was just stronger back then. You're going to absolutely love bomberman and snowboard kids. They are perfect the way they are

I get annoyed when people say there are only 10 or 20 good games on N64. I think when people say that, they are thinking only of the major franchises like Mario, Zelda, and Castlevania. But there are many hidden gems that are pretty good. The system has 296 North American releases, so I'm considering buying the top 100.

Diddy Kong Racing was the best, my friends and I played this for HOURS, and the wiz pig races at the end took me forever to beat!

I had a n64 and had lylat wars. All of n64 games are brilliant except from the superman game, duke nukem 64 for me was brilliant and the soundtrack was brilliant too.

Glover was great played it to completion still to this day one of the hardest games I've ever played, bomberman was also a great game man I miss this era of game making 😢

Playing these games reminds you why games were good. No one makes original games anymore. Guaranteed a remake of these would beat any AAA title now outside of the obvious like Eldin ring

I've played through vigilante 8 2 at least 10 times over the years. The vehicle handling is not that great and the physics can suck at times but the action is so unique and full of personality! I'll never forget when I was a kid finally figuring out how to "raise the water" in the Louisiana map to actually complete the level. It took me forever to figure out! haha.... star power!

I have played a lttle of the 2 games (from the "Gex" series) that have appeared on the N64 (2nd and 3rd). I need to get a 3DO emulator to play the first...

Gex Is gangster 😎I have it for ps1 since the n64 version didn't support music and and a few graphic details as well as ps1theres discs juat held more info compared to the cartridge version

Fighter's destiny is very underrated
Nobody puts Hybrid Heaven on their lists and that game was the only of its kind with the fighting system
